All Wolf ever wanted from Margot was for her to say I'm sorry.
She never recieved those words.
Upon Margot's return five years after she'd betrayed her, Wolf had been furious. She couldn't understand how Margot even had the nerve to show up after what she'd done.
She'd ruined Wolf to the point that she couldn't trust anyone, afraid of history repeating itself. Wolf had believed for so long that survival or death was her only options. At only five years old, Wolf had been forced to learn that nobody was there for her. That nobody loved her or wanted her. That she wasn't worth anything to the people she had loved the most.
When Margot revealed her excuse as to why she came back, Wolf wanted to kick her out and tell her to never come back. Margot hadn't come back to apologize or to make up for all the damage she had done to Wolf when they were children. She had come back to ask Wolf to help her save Rupert, her brother who apparently had been taken by the Deathscorpions while they were hunting for food.
When Wolf's friends stood up for her and told Margot off for the way she'd hurt Wolf, she had seen the hurt in Margot's eyes as she prepared herself to be rejected. She knew she deserved it.
Wolf didn't want to be cold anymore. She didn't want to only think about herself anymore. She didn't have to do that anymore. Kipo had taught her more than she would have liked to admit, but one of the most important lesson was that everyone deserved a second chance. Everyone made mistakes, and it was up to them to decide whether they would learn from them and try to be better, or if they'd choose to make the same mistake again.
Despite everything in her body telling her otherwise, Wolf finally agreed to help Margot save her brother. Margot was clearly shocked by the response, but thankful that Wolf had agreed to help her. Wolf threatened to make a new cape out of Margot's skin, like she'd done to her mother, if she was planning to trick her again. She hoped that Margot would make the right choice for once.
Benson and Dave went with them, making sure that Wolf stayed safe. They didn't trust Margot either. While Wolf was thankful that her friends had her back, she had started to get annoyed about their constant reminders of her past to keep Margot walking on eggshells around them. Margot was clearly annoyed too, but Wolf didn't think she had the right to be.
After walking for hours, they had arrived at the dog park where the Mega Dogs were playing. When Margot accidentally brung the dogs' attention to them, she and Wolf had to work together to gain control over the alpha dog. Using the knowledge they had been taught as children, they climbed up the Mega corgi's back and howled together, just like when they were children.
For a split second, Wolf was content. Happy even. She had always loved howling with Margot. It was something they shared that nobody of her friends would ever understand. Margot was clearly happy about the waved of nostalgia washing over them, explaining that she had felt a connection between them. Wolf rejected the idea, claiming that it was only because they had been raised by the same monsters. Margot looked remorseful, but she didn't apologize.
Dropping the subject, they commanded the dog to take them to Deathstalker territory.
When they arrived, Margot attempted to be friendly again, despite all the times Wolf had turned her down. She praised Wolf for having survived in such a place as Deathstalker territory, which was when Wolf had had enough. She told Margot that she didn't get to be her friend after everything she had done. Wolf let her feelings out in front of Margot and her friends and she was on tears at the end of her speech.
Margot looked sad, regretting making Wolf feel that way because of her. Still, she didn't apologize. She only came up with excuse after excuse, talking about how scared she was to go against her parents.
Wolf didn't feel symphathy for her.
When Wolf asked where Rupert was, Margot revealed that she had lied. Again. Wolf felt as if she had been stabbed with a knife. She couldn't believe it. Margot explained how Dr. Emilia had caught them and threatened to cured them into normal animals if they didn't bring Wolf to her. Emilia knew that Kipo would come running if her dear little sister had been taken.
Wolf was furious. Once again, Margot had betrayed her trust only to save her and her brother's skin. It seemed like Margot was just that type of person. Wolf scolded Margot for leading her and her friends into a trap, and Margot looked as if she was regretting her choice, especially after hearing how Wolf had felt when she betrayed her for the first time.
Yet she didn't apologize.
Soon enough, they were cornered by Emilia and her group, taken somewhere to be held captive until Kipo would come to save them. Margot was taken somewhere else, and Wolf could barely look at her.
Wolf hadn't asked much from her. She didn't want her to got through fire for her. She didn't want her to risk her life for her. She didn't want her to die for her. She didn't want her to create a time machine and redo everything she had done wrong.
All she ever wanted from Margot was an apology.
