A compilation of unfinished works, prompts, ideas and brainstorms. Feel free to take inspiration from them (tag me pls). I may not ever go back to them but I just wanted to share.

Work Text:

Every time I fell you held your hand out to me.

Donghyuck couldn’t remember exactly when he had fallen in love with Mark Lee. Donghyuck likes to think it was the very moment he cast eyes on the certain raven-haired boy back in December of junior year, but he knows that’s a very big push. He later thinks it was when Mark (embarrassingly) dedicated a basketball shot to him, in which he missed entirely, leading to a beet-red Donghyuck and a roar of laughs from Mark’s teammates. Donghyuck never went to any of Mark’s practices again. Maybe it was when Mark was always the loudest to cheer at the end of his gigs at the local bar. Always bringing him a bouquet of different flowers each time, and later on their bus ride home to campus would teach Donghyuck the meaning of said flowers. Or rather it was when the older made a constant effort to have their weekly movie night despite their hectic schedules. Letting Donghyuck choose the movie every time. Donghyuck always chose romance, and Mark never had the heart to tell him that he hated cheesy romcoms. Maybe it was when Mark made full-length hour-long playlists just for Donghyuck to listen to when he was playing at away games. Said playlists always included some sort of message written out with the song titles. Or it was when Mark always managed to calm his nerves, whether it be before a test or an interview, Mark’s hugs always made his worries wash away. Or maybe it was the moments Mark would be the first to laugh at his jokes, with his goofy smile, like it’s the funniest thing he’s ever heard, that made Donghyuck fall the hardest. Or maybe it was that stupid look of happiness on Mark’s face when he told Mark he was pursuing his dream of becoming a singer, thus dropping out. But later the gloom that shadowed the boy when he realised that Donghyuck wasn’t going to be in his classes anymore.

Habits

Donghyuck has this habit. Mark has noticed it several times before, he usually sees it when the younger is revising lyrics or when he’s deep in a conversation. At first, he found it as a cute antic but as time progressed Mark couldn’t help but wonder what Donghyuck had been rewriting so aimlessly with his pretty fingers. Though to directly comment on the other’s strange yet so endearing habit would just come off weird, and hell the last thing Mark would want is getting caught for observing Donghyuck too much, so Mark lets it go.

The next time Mark sees this habit again is early into the morning around 4AM on the kitchen table. Still too groggy in his sleep Mark’s first thought in seeing Donghyuck in the 10th-floor dorms was wow he looks so pretty followed by he’s doing that thing again, then what the hell is he doing here? The purpose of Donghyuck’s visit had been to get Mark to revise his final draft of lyrics for Dream’s upcoming album. Mark doesn’t get his answer to the redhead’s tracings but he does get a very sleepy Donghyuck and to be able to be the first person to ever read the younger’s lyrics.

That's the gist and...

In the end, Mark solves Donghyck's habit while they’re cuddling in bed as the younger traces ‘I love you’ on Mark’s back.

Police AU

Mark Lee thinks he’s stupid and that’s probably the most stupid thing you’re going to read today. The thing is Mark is really fucking smart. Not the textbook smart like you see in the movies but the type of smart that could crack any crime case that would be given to him. The problem here is that Mark Lee has hit a wall, a really big wall in fact and he thinks there’s no way around it. No matter how hard he tries, he wakes up routinely cursing his stupid self for being so… incompetent.

`Mark don’t be so hard on yourself we’ve got plenty of time to get to be bottom of this.’

Chenle one of his dear colleagues at the 99 precinct presses a reassuring hand on the crevis of his arched back. Mark shows a bitter smile in gratitude for Chenle’s kind gesture.

‘And besides what’s the fun of solving something fast Canada’ from across the room to his other partner jumps in.

‘Haechan this is not the time to be saying witty comments there are literal lives on the line

‘Geez I'm just trying to brighten things up unlike you grumpy pants’

It's the end of the week for ordinary workers but for these three men, it is just the beginning of their new case in search of the jubilee killer. Working cases late into the night wasn’t new for these detectives, you may even say…
