Up and down it nodded idly,
metal nibbling on your hand.
A force snatched it with speed of lighting,
romantic beginning of the end.
Both so unbent under the pressure,
you'd call it a lucky token
to drag through each and every adventure,
until the vow was broken.
It's returned, your cherished gift,
blank helmets now look saddened.
You understand why she did what she did,
you just wish she hadn't.
