Chapter Text

The tears have become dry on Tama’s face. Earlier today she had gotten the news from her first job interview about the rejection for the job offer. Tama still feel mostly hesitant about going back into the workforce but if it was for the sake of lifting her boyfriend’s burden even by a job salary, she would go beyond what she cynically thinks she’s capable of.

It’s becoming harder for Tama to resist the urge to go to sleep with her head on top of Rentarou’s lap while he is patting her behind the ears. Tama could only purr at the sensation.

“I’m proud of you for your first attempt, but it upset me knowing that I can’t do anything about your situation,” Rentarou said, regret was clear in his voice.

“You’re doing plenty already,” Tama purred, a catlike grin stretched from ear to ear.

Chapter Text

Eira’s mouth was open in amazement. No way Rentarou was picking up what she was teaching him so quickly.

“Did I do it right?” Rentarou asked, he was sweating, his muscles exerted themselves.

“Yeah… Yeah! you’re amazing! Ahem! Though I don’t recommend rushing, remember, despite your body being favorable for this type of martial art, you still need to rest on certain days so your muscles can regrow,” Eira explained.

“Amazing! No wonder your father has so much faith in you taking over his dojo,” Rentarou said, his eyes sparkled from seeing how awesome his girlfriend is.

“Thanks, I still have a lot of improvement to do,” Eira blushed temporarily forgetting to hold her stance.

“Numbers, oh numbers, how I love them!” Suu exclaimed in delight.

Unlike any sane person, Rentarou found Suu’s love of numbers irresistible. Rentarou took Suu out on a date to a history museum. Although he and Suu aren’t big fans of history, Rentarou had become aware that for this month the museum is hosting an exhibit about the history of numbers.

“I love you Rentarou,” Suu said with a full smile on her face.

Rentarou did a double take. Some girlfriends like Suu and Mai can be hesitant about being so direct about their love towards him.

“I love you too,” Suu took ahold of Rentarou’s hand as she lead the way through the exhibit.

Chapter Text

Rin would stand out if you have gotten to know her beyond her appearance. Rentarou doesn’t mind her love of violence. It’s what makes her unique. It’s a matter of her enjoying what she likes.

At the arcade Rentarou was enjoying his time playing a co-op shooter with Rin. Rentarou wasn’t much of a gamer growing up, after all he was more interested in learning how to become the perfect boyfriend. So it was obvious Rin was much better of a gamer in those violent games then he is.

“Molto Violento!” Rin exclaimed excitedly as she gunned down the enemy combantants one after the other. Eventually they completed the game, their names on top of the leaderboards.

“Phew! That was amazing, Rin! We just about beaten every one of the games in this arcade,” Rentarou said.

“Thank you for being my player 2,” Rin said as she bowed.

“No problem, I’m more then happy to help,” Rentarou said, bowing in return.

Chapter Text

“No excuses, Rentarou, you’re now old enough to drink alcohol,” Momoha cheered as she puts on the table an alcoholic drink.

Despite Rentarou not being sure about whether it’s a good idea to indulge in possibly one of Japan’s bad habits, this is one of his girlfriends we’re talking about here, and if it means making Momoha happy, then he’s willing to do it.

“Ok, down the hatch!” Rentarou said taking his glass and drinking it. He nearly spit it out, how could a drink be this unbearable. He forced himself to swallow it. “Tasty…” Rentarou said.

Momoha giggled. “Your face was priceless. Don’t worry about offending me, alcohol is an required taste, and I know it isn’t for everyone.”

“I’ll have to find my own taste if I were to go these dates in the future,” Rentarou said, declaring another one of his ambitions to make Momoha happy just as if he would do it for any other of his treasured girlfriends.

“No… no. These aren’t for Rentarou, I’m doing this in case if I were to show this to my beloved older sister,” Mai said in denial looking over the lingerie on her bed.

Mai clawed at her head. “I swear if I see his face today, I don’t know what I will do.”

“You called for me,” Rentarou peeked through the door.

“How did you hear me?!!!” Mai yelled blocking Rentarou from seeing what on her bed.

Seeing the look on her face, Rentarou backed off. “Oh, you were getting ready for our date, it makes me humbled that you’re putting a lot of thought into this. Don’t worry, I’ll use the money Hahari gave me for my birthday to hire a suit which would be appropriate for our location. See you then!” Rentarou marched off.

Mai blushed heavily. ‘He’s so cool!’

Chapter Text

“To think one might find amusement in a convention such as this. Perfhaps it speaks to our need for community that some of us would be willing to dress up as characters,” Uto said as she and Rentarou walked through the convention hallways.

This convention Rentarou and Uto are at isn’t as big as the famous ones, but it’s sizable considering that the venue was set up in the town where they live at.

“Hmm, that is an interesting thought,” Rentarou humored Uto, less patient boyfriends would feel insulted at their girlfriends having more eloquent speeches then them, but it’s one of Uto’s charming points that has Rentarou already in love with her.

“Can we take a picture with you?” A couple of boys asked.

They took the picture after Uto said yes. One of the boys’s hands were dangerously close to Uto’s waist. There was no telling if that boy would had survived the next day if he dared lay a hand on one of Rentarou’s girlfriends.

“I’m not one for the mundane gaze of the masses, but perhaps it’s something I can enjoy once a while,” Uto said, her hand on her chin as she admires the crowd of people enjoying themselves.

Rentarou smiled. Like Nano, Rentarou is joyful whether he can give his girlfriends a new memory that they will be happy with for the rest of their lives.

Chapter Text

“You like, look sooo pretty Rentaroucchi,” Ahko said as she put on the last touch of makeup on Rentarou.

The usual response of ‘thank you’ died in Rentarou’s throat, the conveyance of such gratitude couldn’t be said because of the butterflies he was feeling, one of his treasured girlfriends in this case Ahko being so careful in applying the makeup from the cheeks to the eyelids on his face, this took longer then a mere costume change and hair dye treatment.

“Sorry if you’re like bummed out that I forced you into it,” Ahko said, her facial expressions may not have changed much but Rentarou can pick up on the guilt in her voice.

“It’s ok, I’m just getting used to the feeling of makeup,” Rentarou turned to look at himself in Ahko’s bedroom mirror. “I say that if you weren’t looking to become a cute merchandise store owner, you could give the makeup business a run for their money.”

A light blush tainted Ahko’s cheeks. “That’s like too much praise, what I did is nothing compared to what this makeup YouTuber did,” Ahko showed Rentarou on her phone the various makeup YouTubers she’s subscribed to for the next 30 minutes.

As Rentarou and Kishika were walking in the park, Rentarou had something on his mind. “Hey Kishika, who do you think would have an easier time in charge? You or Chiyo?”

Kishika considered what Rentarou said. “It would be me, I did have to manage my younger siblings, while Chiyo would have to deal with people her age.”

“Don’t forget about her dad,” Rentarou piped in.

Kishika nodded. “Speaking of family, I wish I could introduce you to my parents but it’s hard to find a time when they would be both at home,” Kishika said.

Rentarou frowned, worry evident on his face. “What if I’m like that with my kids one day, I would be too busy when they just want to introduce their girlfriend or their boyfriend for my blessing,” Rentarou said, his hands holding his head.

Kishika places a hand on his shoulder. “Don’t be so gloomy about the future, take each day as it comes, and I can tell from the way you live up your code of honor, you wouldn’t let any of your family suffer this way.”

Rentarou lightens up. “Can’t believe I doubted myself for a moment, thank you.”

“You’re welcome!” Kishika smiled.

Chapter Text

There is a time in one’s life where they appreciate their past memories. Yaku was thinking about the precious time she spent with her late husband such as their first meeting, the memory of him holding their son, and their final moments together before he passed on. Yaku wondered what he would had thought about Rentarou.

“I could learn a thing or two from you staring off into bed,” Rentarou teased, his arm went over Yalu’s shoulder.

‘What a bold boy,’ Yaku smirked, today won’t be the day that she gets flushed from one of Rentarou’s flirtations. Yaku controlled herself. This tug and pull between her and Rentarou will go on for as long as she’s interested. It wouldn’t do to give in that easily, but Rentarou is such a gentleman her heartbeat picks up despite her long life of experience.

“Hmm. Just thinking about past memories,” Yaku said.

“As long as you are enjoying yourself,” Rentarou said, smiling as he attended to Yaku’s every needs on their date. Including explaining over and over again every modern contraption that Yaku brought up in her confusion

Rentarou hummed, enjoying the therapeutic sensation of Momoji massaging his tired back. There’s no logical explanation for how Rentarou’s body could endure for as long as he had.

If any other of his girlfriends had known, they would had begged him to stop, but Momoji can respect Rentarou for constantly going beyond his physical limits.

On the plus side, it gives Momoji valuable practice for massaging masculine shaped bodies for her future masseur career.

“All done,” Momoji said after she finished massaging all the tension out of Rentarou’s back.

Rentarou sat up and flexed his back muscles, he smiled from feeling the lack of tension in both his upper and lower back. “How about I massage you now?” Rentarou asked, wanting to return the favor.

A faint blush emerged on Momoji’s cheeks. “You don’t have to do that, I take care of my body.”

“It would be a nice gesture for all the work you have done,” Rentarou said.

“If you say so, just a little shoulder massage,” Momoji reluctantly agreed not wanting to disappoint her boyfriend.

With Momoji at the helm guiding Rentarou, she got an excellent shoulder massage out of it.

Chapter Text

Rentarou and Yamame were walking hand in hand as they enjoy their Sunday walk date.

They’re walking on the path as a couple of men were walking the opposite way.

The men noticed Rentarou and Yamame and snickered. “Can you believe this couple? Why would that guy settle for a woman who’s way taller then him.”

Rentarou stopped conflicted about what response he wants to make but Yamamae puts a hand on his shoulder. “Don’t react, those guys are just looking for trouble,” Yamame said.

The men scoffed then they walked down the path until they disappear from view.

“Thank you for stopping me, whenever someone insults you or one of my girlfriends, it’s too easy for me to get mad and lose control,” Rentarou said.

Yamame’s eyes sparkled. “That’s what my dad says, aye. I feel safe knowing you are my boyfriend,” Yamame said tenderly holding Rentarou’s hand.

Rentarou and Yamame walked down the path willing to let the awful confrontation by in favor of enjoying the rest of their date.

Chapter Text

“Freedom lady! Mah gawd! She has the spirit of American freedom riding in her core,” Naddy expressed gleefully.

“Hmm? Who are you talking about?” Rentarou asked.

“There’s this shrine maiden Vtuber named Sakura Miko, I thought she would be prim and proper at first, but oh jolly she’s a gunslinger with that mouth. It’s like she and I were raised from the same cattle,” Maddy said.

“Seems like you and her are kindred spirits. I should look to see if there are any meetups I can take you to meet her,” Rentarou said.

“Thank you kindly, but I’m not worthy to be in her presence,” Naddy shrugged, her previous enthusiasm drifting out.

“Don’t ever say that about yourself. Would someone with your personal code of freedom care about whether you’re worthy or not. You grab the bull by the horns and and take control of it,” Rentarou cheered Naddy on.

“Rentarou..” Naddy kissed Rentarou which he returned back. Once they separated, Naddy put a hand on his shoulder. “Thank you kindly sugar, I’ll be on the lookout for such a meeting with Sakura Miko if my name isn’t Yamato Freedom Nadeshiko,” Naddy said.

‘I’m sure your middle name isn’t freedom,’ Rentarou waved the complaint away in his mind and enjoyed the moment of Naddy’s happiness.

Chapter Text

“Phew! That should be all done,” Chiyo said looking over her home cooked meal.

It’ll be a few minutes before Rentarou will arrive. Chiyo was proud of her hard work cooking the meal while keeping on track with her planned chore list.

There were times when Chiyo was exhausted taking care of her needs on top of her father. But since dating Rentarou, she has learn to reach out to the rest of Rentarou’s family for guidance and in doing so, she has learned things which helped her to be more efficient.

The doorbell rang. Chiyo rushed to open the door and there was Rentarou, as dashing as ever.

“I know you already cooked a meal, but I decided that we should have dessert as well,” Rentarou said as he carried in his hand a cooler which contains some nice desert treats.

Chiyo’s face lightens up. Why is her cousin so perfect as a boyfriend?!

Chapter Text

“It’s not what you think,” Meme sputtered out. Rentarou was puzzled. At Meme’s bedroom as they were studying for their Japanese Literature subject, Meme handed Rentarou a notebook which she thought was her study notebook but turns out it was the notebook where she wrote smut fantasties about Rentarou and an exact replica of him.

Meme was about to disappear but Rentarou caught her wrist just in time. “I don’t mind, in fact I’m flattered,” Rentarou said.

“No, I tend to let my fantasties go ahead of me,” Meme said as she trembled.

“If you like it, then all the power to you, I can give you a few pointers in writing me more accurately,” Rentarou said.

Meme blushed as she shyly nodded.

Chapter Text

During lunch break, Mimimi was discussing about her beauty rountine. And seeing that Mimimi was passionate about her chosen topic, Rentarou was enthralled since she started explaining.

“Rentarou, how about you, do you do anything special?” Mimimi asked, dazzling as always.

“Not really. I just shower consistently, shave, and take care of any odor problems, though before a date, I would go the extra mile. That kind of thing I couldn’t afford to do on a consistent basis,” Rentarou said.

“Not to worry. Most people are content where they are. If you do need any tips, don’t be afraid to ask from me,” Mimimi said.

“It’s great to having one of my girlfriends like you as a mentor,” Rentarou said, happy to receive advice from one of his soulmates.

Chapter Text

“98, 99, 100!” Iku called out after doing 100 crossed sit-ups.

“Awesome! 100 is barely a warmup for you anymore, I’m terrified you could collapse one day,” Rentarou said, getting up from his position at Iku’s legs to hand her a fresh ice cold bottle of water.

Iku drank a quarter of the bottle in ten seconds flat. Iku let out a breath. “My body is used to the stress. Keeping up with you is plenty of motivation, that’s my love for you spurring me on,” Iku said, smiling.

Rentarou blushed as he scratched the back of his head. “I’ll happily help you as best as I can. Let’s move on to the next exercise, and I will hold you to a modest number as always,” Rentarou said.

Iku pouted but let out a short laugh. “Thanks for your concern, I think my family will love that you know how to hold me back.”

Chapter Text

“I know you like obeying orders, but how about you can give me orders and I’ll have to obey them,” Rentarou suggested.

A light blush was on Meido’s cheeks as if she was given a bouquet of her favorite flowers. “That suggestion is not worthy of my station, nor am I interested in that idea,” Meido said.

“But I would be more then happy to do so, it would only be fair on you,” Rentarou’s face got closer and closer to Meido’s face.

Although Meido couldn’t see Rentarou due to her eyes usually being closed, the thoughtful gesture from Rentarou’s voice as well as her senseinf is face close to her is wearing her down.

“As you ordered. How about serving Hahari-sama for a day?” Meido asked.

“Now hold on for a second!” Rentarou said in a panic, then he goes on to clarify several things about the order to prevent him from losing his virginity

Kurumi continues eating and eating until there was no food left on the restaurant table. Rentarou was happy about their date seeing that Kurumi was happy eating the professionally cooked food. As much happy Kurumi was feeling, guilt was there in her stomach as well as she thought about how she must be one of the most expensive girlfriends to take out on a date.

So with great reluctance, with a kiss to Hahari’s cheek as payment, Kurumi got some money to take Rentarou out on a date to do something that he would enjoy.

“Thank you so much, it makes me so happy I want to cry,” Rentarou said, holding back tears because of how thoughtful Kurumi was being.

“Just enjoy the date before I get hungry,” Kurumi said, blushing at Rentarou’s sincere expression of love.

Chapter Text

The last episode of the Teddy Baby series ended, as the cheerful credits rolls, Rentarou and Hahari were in tears from having to say goodbye to the characters they grown attached to over the last 48 hours.

As they clear their eyes and blow their nose on the many tissues they used throughout the marathon, they consoled each other.

“I’m blown away. Who knew that a kids show like this would hold up even today,” Rentarou said.

“Rentarou… I need a hug,” Hahari said, her shoulders slumped.

Rentarou got up and squished into Hahari’s seat. They held each other for a while until they fell asleep out of exhaustion.

“Sorry Rentarou, my Dad is in a bad mood tonight so I can’t invite you to dinner tonight, yep yep,” Kusuri said, her shoulders sagged as she sat down next to Rentarou.

Rentarou consoled Kusuri. “That’s ok, we can always try another night, how’s your latest concoction going?” Rentarou asked.

“I hadn’t made any progress all day, I was too mad, I just wish my Dad wouldn’t be so stubborn, if only he could see that you can be just as loving to me as you are with your other girlfriends,” Kusuri said.

“It’s ok, your father’s a good man, please be patient with him, I wouldn’t want to be the one responsible for your relationship with your father to turn sour,” Rentarou said.

“You’re too kind,” Kusuri said as she hugged Rentarou’s side. Rentarou hummed happily as he patted Kusuri’s head.

Chapter Text

Rentarou hummed a cheerful tune at his date with Nano because he was able to convince his parents to give him an allowance which gave him the opportunity to pay for a restaurant date.

“Aijou Rentarou, why would we have a date here when we could eat at a place with cheaper food?” Nano asked point blank.

“This is more for making memories and having a nice time. If I could, I would take all of my girlfriends on dates like this, but I don’t have the resources to do that yet,” Rentarou said.

“It’s best if you advocate the food related dates exclusively to Kurumi since she has the most appetite out of all of us,” Nano advised.

“It would be efficient. But the fun here on this date is exposing you to different kinds of food. I can’t wait to see which one tonight is going to be your favorite,” Rentarou said as he looked excitedly on the menu.

Nano lightly blushed as she looked at the menu as well. ‘Best order something which will help with studying,’ Nano thought with Rentarou’s smile on her mind.

“Rentarou-kun, you seem perturbed about something?” Shizuka highlighted from her text to speech app.

“You were observant. I was thinking recently about writing a novel, but when I looked over it this morning, I noticed these flaws that I haven’t noticed before, and it’s going to take a while to rearrange them,” Rentarou said.

“I don’t mind waiting, the treasure is more valued the work has been placed in finding it,” Shizuka highlighted from her app.

“Ok, I won’t rush myself. That gives me an idea. You can read my notes and offer advice for improvement,” Rentarou said, showing one of his notebooks which he wrote an outline in.

Shizuka was so excited her entire body started vibrating.

Chapter Text

“Hmph! It’s not like I wanted to introduce my boyfriend or anything. It’s just that I wasn’t expecting you to come home home so soon.”

“It’s not like as your mother that I’m happy to see you date a super reliable boyfriend,” Karane’s mum said back.

“I’m Aijou Rentarou, it’s an absolute pleasure to meet you at long last, and I’m looking forward to meeting the rest of your family,” Rentarou bowed.

Karane’s mum glared at Karane. “I swear if you caused this sweet boy to dump you because of your tsundereness, you’ll be in so much trouble young lady,” Karane’s mum said.

“Oh please, he forgives me every time I physically assaulted him,” Karane said.

“That line sounds so wrong out of context!” Rentarou said, playing the straight man role in what seemed to be forever.

Chapter Text

“Rentarou, I resolved to be as less horny as possible on our date today, so you gotta hold me accountable,” Hakari said.

“As much as I appreciate you trying to make me comfortable, your goal is way too vague for what you’re usually like,” Rentarou said, placing a hand on her shoulder.

Hakari’s face was flushed as she holds her cheeks. “Oh no, I’m getting images of you holding me down with your manly hands,” Hakari said.

Bonk! Rentarou got out a squeaky hammer and nailed Hakari on the forehead. “No more horny,” Rentarou said.

Hakari giggled. “Not what I imagined going into this date, but you always have a knack for surprising me, Rentarou-kun,” Hakari said as her previously horny state starts dying down from Rentarou’s comedic distraction.
