You’re not supposed to ask
Where you can lay your head,
It belongs with me,
That feeling.
It goes deeper
In the flesh,
In the bone,
I’m alive as each individual nerve is consumed
If you can end my world with a thought, a word, then
It’s only fair you could end everything.
But that wasn’t what it meant
When I said let them make you powerful.
You were supposed to fight them,
Not become them.
Take it from me, this is
All that I have,
I fight the guilt beneath, my selfish love,
it’s the only enemy that matters.
