Chapter Text
After the attack had destroyed most of the city, one lonely fella was left completely alone, everyone had either died or left by now.
The land where he lived was dead and empty.
Only few trees had managed to survive the attack and further away, there was a town that had managed to stay untouched from an attack.
The city recently was his only source of food, no humans lived there, but he grabbed whatever he could from the abandoned stores.
Canned soups, dry foods like rice, macaroni etc, canned fruits and so on.
It wasn't the best diet but he didn't have much of a choice.
He had nowhere to go and he no means to go anywhere, atleast, not yet.
Time past and the young man got more and more lonely, more desperate, more depressed.
There was nearly nothing to do there in the middle of nowhere.
Only thing there was, was to explore the destructed area.
Time went by, days turned into weeks, weeks into months and so on.
The man, who's name was Isac, had managed to stumble upon a car factory, well it used to be one, before the catastrophe it had been used more to create military vehicles.
He snuck in through the broken window and looked around.
Dozens of cars laid there motionlessly, seemingly dead, but really, they were all a computerized military weapons that were simply turned off.
Most of them were rather large, truck sized powerful armored machines, many of them had weapons built on them.
He walked on and analyzed the vehicles carefully, it was really a pity that those poor sentient beings had simply been left here like this.
One of the smaller vehicles at the very end caught his attention.
It was a black, beautiful Dodge charger. Seemingly 1968 model.
The young man tilted his head in curiosity, "'had they really planned to send this beautiful machine into war? That isn't right.."
He walked next to the car and tried to peek in through the tinted window, he couldn't really see anything besides a dark reflection of his own face.
He circled around the car, considering his options.
He came to a stop on the left side door and stared into his own exhausted, sad, but lively eyes in the reflection if the window.
His hand reached for the handle, his fingers grabbing it, a pull.
A clack echoed across the dark abandoned factory, the door came open.
The inside looked not cuch like a regular Dodge charger hellucination would.
It looked newer tech, small lights flickered on the dashboard, buttons, odd looking devices, a small screen on the middle,
The man felt his heart start beating faster, it wasn't fear, it was excitement, hope, this vehicle could get him out of this hellhole, maybe to somewhere where he could have better living conditions, maybe somewhere where water was more accessible? He slowly let his body slip into the vehicle, he observed the interior carefully, admiring the beauty of it all.
He slowly placed his hand on the wheel, more feeling of freedom flowed through his vein, it was enough to bring a smile onto his dry, broken lips.
He was quickly snapped out of it, however when the door closed, it was like someone pulled it, but he was the only one there.
He looked to both sides, out of the window, the room was dim but not completely dark.
Still, there seemed to be no signs of anyone else around.
He looked around few more moments until he turned his attention back to the car, that was no regular car he knew that but what he didn't know, was that he was with a sentient, intelligent being, a top military weapon that had been considered too faulty for use.
It was more like a project vehicle really.
The young man looked around in the car a bit more until he was startled almost to death by an engine starting sound, he did not turn on the vehicle, it did it by itself.
The lad stared at the dashboard in shock, the lights flickered there.
He reached for the door to get out, but stopped, something kept him from leaving, his anxiety slowly submerged as the engine was now only rumbling deeply.
The man closed his eyes and leaned his head back against the headset, he had woken the machine, he knew it.
He took few long, deep breaths, slowing down his heartbeats like so.
After what felt like forever, he had managed to calm down to some degree, he looked at the light on the dashboard before slowly placing his hands on the wheel.
"alright.." he mumbled with a shaky breath.
He held his hand there and gripped the steering wheel.
The texture was leathery and smooth, it sat so comfortably in his grip.
He pressed his right foot gently onto gas, the engine roared but he didn't move anywhere yet.
He looked right ahead out of the windshield, still considering whether he should risk and take his chance or not.
Almost unconsciously, his hand moved to the shifter and gripped it then pushed it into drive, from there his hand moved to the hand brake and released it. The car slowly rolled forward on the ground. He was anxious and excited, he could feel his heart beating wildly in his chest.
He pressed the pedal down a little, making the engine purr a bit louder and the car to roll forward.
Even Though he was almost sure no one was probably in the building, he was terrified of getting caught.
In fear, he pressed the pedal down once more, this time much further and with a rather loud rev that echoed across the building he smashed through the door.
A bit worried he had damaged the car, he slowed down but fear kept him from stopping completely, from the windshield, there didn't seem to be a single scratch on the car so at least that was good, it was armored after all right?
