Chapter Text
Bloom was sleeping on her bedroom floor. She had fallen asleep again after reading her favorite childhood book. It made her feel safe when she was a little girl as if it was some sort of protection from all the bad things.
She had been having a couple of rough months, her friends were leaving her behind, and they planned a trip around Europe, but of course, Bloom was the definition of the most not cool person in the whole of Gardenia, so they didn't invite her.
She couldn't blame them; they weren't her friends; they were Andy's friends, and now they were the new friends of his new girl Mitsi.
So the fairy books made her illusions and dreams about what her life would be like for her fairies; she even had Original Characters drawn in her sketchbook.
"Bloom, dear. Time to wake up, sweetheart." Vanessa yelled from the other side of the room while knocking, announcing her entry, and seeing her daughter sleeping on the floor.
"Mom, five more minutes. " Bloom growled while she hid her face on the floor.
"Don't tell me you doze off on the floor reading." Vanessa said, chuckling sitting beside her daughter, softly caressing her daughter's red hair.
"I didn't doze off, mom. " Bloom mumbled, waking up while she grabbed the books and the sketchbooks she fell asleep with.
"Honey? What happened? You only read this when you get..." Vanessa said, helping her daughter to sit right while she looked at her with worry, while Bloom just started crying.
"I just felt weird. I don't have any real friends. Andy and I hadn't spoken since we finished classes. Mitsy made everyone look at me as the biggest loser ever. And who am I kidding, mommy? I am a loser. ." Bloom confessed while tears fell, while Vanessa just hugged her and caressed her hair as when she was little if Bloom only could see herself in her mother's eyes.
After the intense sobbing stopped, Vanessa got back to full-on working mode.
"Come on honey, I made your favorite pancakes, and don't call my daughter a loser. I have a sense things will get better." Vanessa said while she stood up and cleaned the tears from her daughter's face, giving her some privacy.
Bloom just went to her closet and changed her pajamas for some shorts and a top, with her sandals. Grabbing Kyko, who was peacefully sleeping in the armchair, and giving him a treat with a carrot taste, he loved those.
When she got down, she saw her father reading the diary and leaving the puppy to eat some treats on the couch.
"Good morning, sweetie. " Mike said while Bloom approached him to kiss him on the head.
"Morning. " Bloom said with not much excitement, going to get her cereals; she knew right away that when she turned around, she would catch her parents whispering to each other about Bloom's clear depression and anxiety, which wasn't getting better.
"Come on, sweetie. This weekend we will go to the beach, and that'll be fun, right? And we can take trips with the bikes." Mike said, seeing her daughter turning around and sitting at the table eating her cereal.
"Yeah, It does sound good, Dad. Maybe I'll take a ride to go to the shop." Bloom said, trying to be optimistic, but her smile was so clearly fake, Her mouth was smiling, but her eyes were full of sadness.
She prepared in her backpack her sketchbook, a pencil case a juice box, and Kyko. She had bought a pet-carrying basket for her bike, so she could go with Kyko anywhere, her only true friend and companion.
When she started to paddle with Kyko on her bike, she could imagine her parents talking about putting her back in therapy with Miss Bethany.
She was fucking bored. Everything here was boring, this place was too fucking small, and everything was the same. Nothing ever changes.
She had to assume nothing would be like her books. She was so deep in her thoughts that she didn't realize Mitsy had been screaming for her, so Bloom just approached her, and later she would facepalm herself for this.
"Nice bike, Bloom. Such a shame. I heard you couldn't go to Europe. I guess it's hard to be poor. We will send you some postcards." Mitsy said in her usual annoying tone, and she had been like this her whole life, since preschool, always trying to get on Bloom's nerves; What kind of name was Mitsy? It sounded like such a cat name.
Bloom couldn't help it, but the hatred she had for Mitsy was so fucking high, and she was being a basic bitch. While she was pedaling, she showed her middle finger and told her to f off, while Mitsy called her anything but pretty.
When she finally got to the shop, she parked her bike in front. Let, Kyko go on his little personal table on the florist. And put her back in the back store.
"Sorry, I got caught up. I had an encounter with Mitsy. What do you need me to do?" Bloom said while carrying some roses.
"Honey, please tell me you bit her or something. " Vanessa said, joking around.
"Oh, I should have done that. I just showed her my middle finger and told her to go to hell. Yours is so much better." Bloom said, chuckling while starting to water the plants that were on the counter.
After four hours of work, she decided to have her lunch date. And she grabbed Kyko, her bag, and the bike.
In front of the florist, there was the coolest and only park in Gardenia, and she decided to eat her lunch there and maybe sketch while Kyko played around with some sticks.
She sat on her spot where she usually used to sit with Andy and started to sketch a squirrel playing with a knut.
When Kyko suddenly started to bark, Bloom stopped sketching, getting a bit worried since her puppy never was much of a barker, so she just looked up and hoped to see him barking at some person or something like that.
But that wasn't the case. It was something much worse. There was this girl a bit further inside in the woods part of the park, and Kyko kept barking and getting closer to the girl, so Bloom just sighed, following her dog.
When she finally grabbed Kyko, she saw her. The girl was tall and beautiful with shining blonde hair and pointy ears, an orange sparkly outfit, and the scepter.
"RISING SUN!" The girl screamed, pointing the scepter to wait. Wait, a troll? SHE WAS FIGHTING A FREAKING TROLL!
She couldn't help but get a closer look at what was happening. When she was closer, gosh, she could see it clearer. She had freaking wings. That was a freaking fairy.
She knew it. Fairies were real, oh fuck sake. She just stared at the girl with the biggest amazement ever.
The trolls started to get closer to her even though whatever was rising sun spell. As the troll got closer, the fairy kept fighting back, making moves with the scepter and saying words that didn't make sense.
"Oh, you're going to pay for this." The blonde fairy said while she kept fighting with a playful grin. Wow, she seemed amazing. She seemed just like Bloom's OC, Rinthea. They had the same sassy attitude.
To the point where even Bloom could tell the fairy was getting tired, she had that need to go and help, pushing away the urge to keep wondering if any of this was real, and stepping in, grabbing the stick Kyko was playing a few minutes in case the fairy needed help.
And then, a bunch of little goblins started to get little bites in her legs, and the fairy started to lose balance. That looked like a good moment to step in; she just hit the goblins with the stick while the fairy smiled weakly at the girl.
This was amazing. There was some rush going through Bloom's body, like something in her got woken up. She had never been one to be in fights, but look at her now. She was beating goblins with a stick.
"Hey, I got you! Leave her alone! Or..." Bloom said, trying to remove the goblins with the stick, but suddenly her awareness came back. What was she doing? How was any of this even happening?
Making grow a smile on the fairy, which gave her strength to keep fighting and toss the troll some "Sunlight rain." Making the troll hide a bit and growl in pain.
The troll started to mumble something making the goblins get back up and now went back to bite the fairy again, and the Troll took the opportunity to grab the fairy by the neck. That made Bloom so angry she couldn't let that go. She felt this rage about to explode from her chest.
"Asshole! Get away from them!" Bloom shouted while she felt her toes weren't on the floor anymore, and the sense of heat was taking over her body and getting out to the troll and ghouls and making the ghouls leave, and then she was falling, feeling so exhausted.
"Wow, that was amazing! Don't worry, love. I got this from here." The fairy shouted while putting the scepter again in front of the troll, making them leave, rushing through the woods.
The blonde girl letter herself fell beside Bloom while she tried to catch her breath.
"Wait, I have something that will help with the cuts. Trust me. Don't move." Bloom said, now sitting and whistling for Kyko to go get the bag. She was training him. Kyko rushed back to her with the bag in his mouth.
"Good Kyko. Here's your treat." Bloom said, giving the dog a treat while he waved his tail. After that, she looked for her juice some bandaids, and something to clean the wounds and cuts.
"So where am I?" The fairy asked while she drank the juice, and Bloom cleaned Stella's wounds and cuts while Kyko sat beside them.
"Uhm, Gardenia... Earth? You're from Earth, right?" Bloom said while putting on the bandages and seeing that Stella looked shocked as if she hadn't even heard of Gardenia.
"Shit, I'm getting so grounded for this. No, Earth girl. I'm from Solaria, princess of Solaria, Stella. I'm Stella. Thanks for saving my ass and cleaning my wounds. I didn't know there were fairies on Earth." Stella said while she finished the juice and threw the scepter into the sky, going back into the ring form and transforming back into her regular clothes.
"I'm Bloom... And I have so many questions. Like, is this real? " Bloom said, confused, while looking down and finishing to put bandaids.
"You're a fairy, Bloom. That was your powers awakening, and I had never seen such a late awakening. I think you might be a fire fairy. " Stella said, getting up and transforming back to her regular clothes. Of course, they were a bit weird for a normal person on Earth, and they were too shiny.
"Ok, yeah. No offense, but your clothes will call too much attention. I think I have something." Bloom said, checking her bag and remembering that she had that big sweatshirt that Andy gave her.
"Oh, yeah. I don't look much human, don't I? I don't take any offense. My clothes are too chic for humans." Stella chuckled while she tried to pretend she didn't have pain in the legs.
"Not much, here put this. " Bloom said, smelling the sweatshirt. It still smelled like Andy, Stella gave her a look, but she put it on with a pouty face that was an ugly sweatshirt covering her clothes.
"Gosh, how can such an ugly thing be so comfy... I should better get back. Thanks for all, Bloom." Stella whispered with a chuckle while her legs were getting a bit red, and trying to stand and go back home. Her father was going to ground her for real, but when she stood up, her knees buckled, and she ended up falling.
"No, you can't leave me. You just told me I'm a fairy. I can't live with this information like it's nothing. You have to help me please with this now. Let me take you to my house, please... " Bloom said with a bit of a growl, feisty human. Stella already liked her.
"Feisty. Okay, I should better take the crown off. Here keep it safe." Stella said, taking her crown and passing it t, leaning to Bloom, who was much shorter than her.
---
Stella sat on the seat of the bike, and Bloom put Kyko on the basket, who looked thrilled. And drove them to her house. She knew that no one would be there since her dad would be in the truck and her mother in the shop. She would figure out some lie to tell her.
When they got there, Bloom helped Stella by throwing her on the couch and letting Kyko play around the house.
"Ok, how are the cuts and bites??" Bloom said while checking what to use from the cabinet to give her some painkillers.
"It hurts a bit, least. You're a good nurse. " Stella shouted from the living room.
"Ok, ok. I got this." Bloom said, still trying to proceed with what was happening in her life right now. She grabbed the whole cabinet because she couldn't find the painkillers. And she was rushed back to the living room.
Bloom sat on the floor, not wanting to hurt Stella more, and started to search for the bloody painkillers.
"Thank you. You're kind. " Stella said with a sincere smile, feeling a bit better, seeing Timmy's messages of where she was. Shit, she had to come up with something. Her twin was going to murder her.
"Now, can you answer my questions, please?" Bloom said, trying to sound cool and not freaked out.
"Sure, you saved me. Go ahead." Stella said while she answered Timmy's message, I got caught up with some things, I'll call you later <3. Brilliant right?
"Am I a fairy, or did I just don't know hit my head? What do I do now with this information? Do I have to pretend that nothing happens or what? And how can I understand you? Oh my god!" Bloom shot all her fears to the princess, who just giggled.
"Honey, besides my awesome gaydar. I have an amazing fairydar, and you're one. And no, you didn't hit your head, and please don't pretend. Wait, wait, maybe you can come with me to Alfea. That would be so cool, Bloom. And you understand me because it's a spell cast all across the galaxy." Stella said with a soft smile while she felt her legs better.
"Alfea? What's Alfea? It's the fairy quarters?" Bloom said in a confused tone. While she was the most excited she had ever been, she was in a fairy headquarters, leading some rebellion. How exciting this sounded.
"Oh, yeah, sorry. Alfea is the most prestigious fairy school ever. I go there. I'm sure with that insane power you have, they could make an exception with you. " Stella said with a bright smile. She liked Bloom. She was brave, and she saved her.
--
"Sorry, what?" Mike said, now getting out of his house. His truck shift finished early, and it was morning, and he heard something about a fairy school. Maybe he heard it wrong or something like that.
"Dad, hey..." Bloom said while she stood up and threw Stella a blanker for her legs to cover up.
"Who is this?" Mike said with confusion seeing the blonde girl sitting on his couch.
"I'm Stella, princess of Solar-" Stella tried to say but was stopped by Bloom putting her hand in Stella's big mouth.
"She's a friend from lifeguard summer last year. Come on, Dad, I talked to you about Stella. You don't even listen to me, do you? My friend and I are going to my room." Bloom was using the acting that she learned from that one play in primary school, holding Stella's hand and going back downstairs.
---
The door was slammed, leaving a confused Mike ready to call Vanessa to see if she remembered some Stella girl.
"Wow, you're a messy girl. " Stella said, seeing the messy room and having the urge to clean it all, Stella might look like a messy person, but she loved her organized room.
"Yeah...sorry. I don't have many people here besides my parents and my dog." Bloom said, picking up the clothes that were thrown on the floor. She was making Stella give her a soft smile.
"It looks like it's my turn. So, now it's my time to help you." Stella said while starting to clean the messy room, she couldn't stand it, mess was her least favorite thing, not clean spaces made her get the chills.
"What do you mean?" Bloom said confused sitting on her bed while cuddling her childhood plushie of a dragon, it was the only thing that came with her from the adoption, the little dragon always gave her some sort of comfort.
"I mean, I'm not going to leave a talented fairy on Earth, and a possible friend at least. You belong in Alfea. Let me help you, Bloom." Stella said with a soft-spoken tone, causing Bloom to cry, no one ever seemed to care so much about her or tell her that she was talented, Stella noticed that and hugged her.
"Honey, I'm sure If I tell my dad about your heroic act for the princess, he'll try to help you. And your parents, I'm sure want what's best for you. I mean after a good explanation... " Stella said while stopping the hug and making Bloom chuckle.
Mike called Vanessa and she didn't recognize either Stella, of course. And explained what he heard when he got there, so Vanessa came home in twenty minutes.
---
They both knocked on the door, and Stella and Bloom were ready, they both had a plan and talked. So when the poor parents got in there, they saw a fully transformed Stella and Bloom beside her.
"What is all this? Bloom, what is happening?" Vanessa said in shock still in the door, seeing a blonde girl she had never seen before.
"Did you hit yourself on the head?" Mike said in worry walking closer to her daughter.
"Hi, sorry for before. I'm Princess Stella of Solaria heir to the throne, the fairy of the sun. And your daughter saved me, I know this sounds confusing, but my father will fill you in with all the details, OK? Your daughter needs to go to Alfea with me." Stella said with the conviction and seriosity of a princess.
"Yeah, I don't think so lady. My daughter is just a regular girl, and you look sick." Mike said removing Bloom. But then something awful happened the window of Bloom's room broke and some weird creepy sounds came from downstairs, Vanessa covered Bloom while Mike looked in terror and grabbed a glass just in case, Stella just looked pissed.
"Oh, hell no. " Stella said flying down with her phone sending her localization to Timmy, she flew to the front side of the house where of course there were the two freaking trolls, the green one they fought before and a blue new one who didn't look that much of a bright one, but boy was he trouble.
"I'll take the green one, you entertain that one. Don't worry back up it's on its way." Stella said while throwing her ring into the sky transforming into the scepter and getting ready to fight. Bloom just freed herself from her mother, she wasn't going to do anything, she was going to fight.
And Bloom's idea, if she just ran the blue troll would get tired, making it confused and dizzy, Stella went and fought the troll throwing her most powerful spells, making the green troll tremble.
But the blue one almost caught Bloom and was about to throw her through the window making her growl in pain, Stella flew to her and caught her.
"Thanks..."Bloom said weakly, feeling her head heavy, she felt like throwing up.
"Oh, honey. Welcome to a fight." Stella said letting Bloom softly on the floor, and doing a ray of light to protect her.
"I'm sorry I couldn't help much. "Bloom mumbled while she looked at Stella amazed, She was so strong and so pretty, she wanted to be like her.
"Don't worry, you need training. And they'll be here. Timmy owes me this." Stella said winking to Bloom and making her stand up.
The specialist cleared the tramp open and Bloom could see a purple-haired guy with a laser sword jump in. Being followed by a blonde one and a brown-haired one.
"Guys, I'm ready. Stella, are you good?" A voice said through a speaker with a certain worry.
"We're fine, don't worry. " Stella shouted while still protecting Bloom, trying to sound chill.
"Let's take the trash to jail." The blonde said jumping in, making Bloom pay her full attention to him, he was so pretty, this people were so pretty it made her want to cry.
"Come on Brandon what's the rush? Don't you like a little fun?" The purple-haired guy said while putting his sword in fighting mode.
"I wouldn't be such a pimp. I'll remember that as a team we only got one!" The brown-haired guy said jumping in action now, seeing the purple-haired guy being thrown beside the girls. The ship parked and a red-haired boy with glasses came to the fight.
"Sky, would you mind doing something!" The Brandon guy shouted while fighting the troll. Sky just rolled his eyes and jumped smashing the floor and making it break.
"It's that good enough for you Brandon?" Sky said winking back.
"That was hot. " Stella mumbled to Bloom who cracked a smile, and Riven who was beside them was rolling his eyes.
After that, Timmy threw three balls to the floor making the blue troll throw on the crack.
"Ladies, I got this, relax. Don't move. Who wants to taste my blade?" Riven said playing it cool, while he started to punch and kick the goblins, he put down two goblins, but the green troll had them tied up.
Stella made Bloom get up, they weren't going to let the boys have all the action, and Stella was extremely bored, Stella made Bloom point at the trolls and they both cast a spell, making the troll leave.
"I did it, Stella. " Bloom said jumping with happiness, her parents must have seen it right? Now she could go.
Riven captured the blue troll, and the goblins and the asshole of the green troll disappeared too.
Stella just jumped in the arms of the red-haired guy with glasses, who caught her like he was used to it.
Bloom just rushed back in, to check out if her parents were ok, she saw that both of them were hidden down the table, her mom was with Kyko in her arms and Mike was with the glass in front of her.
"Bloom, what is happening... What was that did you?" Vanessa whispered, confused, she saw some orange energy bursting out of her daughter.
"I... I'll be right back. I'm sorry. " Bloom said with a certain fear, She didn't have any answers to her mother's questions, she could hear Stella screaming for her, so she decided to take it one weird thing at a time.
"Let me introduce you, to my guys. " Stella said winking at them, while she was still in the arms of the red-haired guy, who chuckled.
"This delightful ray of sunshine is Riven." Stella said pointing at the purple-haired boy, who just rolled his eyes and showed his middle finger.
"Shut it pixie." Riven said rolling his eyes, while he cleaned his blade.
"This one angel over there is Prince Sky heir to the throne of Erakleon." Stella said winking at the brown-haired guy, who just nodded with a smirk, Bloom noticed this tension between them.
"And this amazing nerd right here, is Timmy, my twin, I know I'm the prettiest one. He's heir to the throne of Lumina. " Stella said giggling, You could see their resemblance, they were very similar, both tall, and had these freckles in the same places, but they looked like the moon and sun because of how different their personalities were.
"Hi..." Timmy said shily rolling his eyes, why did Ella had always to do these big introductions?
"Guys, don't wanna be a buzz killer with the pixies, but we have a curfew. "Riven said rolling his eyes, while Brandon helped him. Prince Sky just winked at both of the girls, and Stella whispered something in Timmy's ear.
"I can't come, family business. Can't you guys cover for me?" Timmy asked the boys who nodded to her.
When they got back in, they saw Mike starting to clean and Vanessa started to search to call the insurance or something like that.
"Mike, don't worry, let me fix the mess I put your family into."Stella said with a bit of shame, she didn't want to make it this big.
"No, no. I'll do it." Mike said being polite, what kind of crazy things could this princess make appear?
"No, I'll do it, trust me. Let us fix this. Tim, call Soltició." Stella said winking at them taking the scepter and whispering something after that everything came clean.
"Ella, are you sure?" Timmy asked with worry, while he bitted his nails.
"Yes. It's what's best." Stella said with a sigh while Bloom looked at this interaction with curiosity they looked like they were about to go through some kind of awful torture.
"Now, what about this Alfea..."Bloom said with hope sitting on the couch, and looking at both of her parents.
"Don't worry, Bloom I've got this covered. My father the king wants to express his gratitud."Stella said walking out, being followed by Bloom and her parents. You could see a carriage, waiting for them, Mike and Vanessa just sighed in defeat and got inside.
