Two Weeks Ago
“Dex I just want you to be there…I am your betrothed for god's sake.” Lilith spoke exasperated that her fiance refused to attend her family dinner. They had been engaged from the moment of her birth as decided by their parents. He just three years her senior was not amused by this and showed his displeasure any chance he got. “I do not wish to attend the dinner Lil, I’m going through with the wedding as our parents planned to solidify the alliance between our kingdom, what more do you want?” Dexter spoke, his tone frustrated at her antics. They were part of neighboring kingdoms that were on the edge of war. She was the first born daughter of the Dragonfyre kingdom. She had dark red hair and stunning green eyes that only matched her fiery attitude. He was the second born prince of the Onyx Kingdom, he had midnight black hair and striking blue eyes to match his callous attitude. “I want you to act your position for once in your life, look I know you didn’t want this, but you act like I had a choice in this. I didn’t.” She raised her voice a little, her frustration getting the better of her before she turned sharply and left the parlor smoothing out her white dress, a symbol of her purity, or that's what her parents told her anyway. Lilith made her way down to the dining room to greet her parents with a fake smile plastered on her face. Muttering to himself Dexter made his way down to the dining room shortly after fussing with his suit making sure it's straight as he sat down.
