Itadori and Kugisaki were indeed a ‘little’ nosy, as they were rummaging around in Gojo’s Office. They couldn’t resist the temptation to explore and see what secrets their teacher might be hiding. “There's nothing even interesting here, just sweets,” Kugisaki complained, grumbling about the lack of anything intriguing in the office. Itadori, with a mischievous glint in his eyes, “Come on, Kugisaki! Let’s keep looking. There’s gotta be something cool hidden in here!”
With Itadori leading the way, the duo continued to explore for a while, searching every nook and cranny. Kugisaki lets out an Exasperated groan, “Seriously, can we just call it quits already? This is going literally nowhere.” Itadori, his eyes scanning through their teacher's desk, responds with confidence, “Don’t worry, I’ve got a feeling we’ll stumble across something cool soon!”
Kugisaki, clearly unimpressed, rolls her eyes and plops down on a couch in the corner of the office. She lets out a dramatic sigh, crossing her arms in annoyance. Itadori, always the optimist, flashes Kugisaki a playful grin and joins her on the couch. Nudging Kugisaki gently with his elbow, “Come on Kugisaki, let’s take a break and recharge. We’ll find something soon enough.”
After spending some time chatting and laughing, Itadori rises from the couch and proceeds to search the desk drawers. After a minute of searching, Itadori excitedly finds what he believes is a hidden cubby in one of the drawers. Itadori eagerly waves Kugisaki over, his voice filled with excitement as he exclaims “Hey, Kugisaki! Come check this out! I found something interesting!”
Kugisaki quickly makes her way over to Itadori, her curiosity piqued. “What is it?” She leans over looking at the cubby. “I have no idea, but I’m curious! Maybe it's a hidden treasure or a secret note!” Itadori chuckles.
Itadori and Kugisaki’s eyes widen in surprise as they open the box, revealing a picture of a young Satoru Gojo with a five-year-old Fushiguro. “Huh.. is that Gojo Sensei with Fushiguro?..” Itadori’s confusion deepens, he had no clue the two have known each other for so long. Kugisaki’s eyes widen in realization as she exclaims, “Oh my gosh, maybe Gojo Sensei used to babysit him or something! That would be hilarious!”
As Itadori and Kugisaki delved deeper into their theories, their conviction grew stronger. They became absolutely certain that Gojo sensei was, without a doubt, Fushiguro’s babysitter. The more they discussed the possibilities, the more their excitement and anticipation soared. It's incredibly rare to get any glimpse into Fushiguro and Gojo Sensei’s personal lives. It’s like unraveling a long-held mystery and they can’t wait to unveil the truth. So to reveal the truth Kugisaki and Itadori planned a surprise confrontation at a class training session the next day.
As the training session reaches its peak, Itadori and Kugisaki can no longer contain their excitement. They step forward, interrupting the training session. Kugisaki exclaims, unable to contain her excitement, “Me and Itadori found a picture of Gojo Sensei and Fushiguro when you two were younger! Were you Fushiguro’s babysitter or something? Spill the tea, we wanna know!” “Yeah, what she said!” Itadori exclaims from behind Kugisaki. Gojo and
Fushiguro both exchange dumbfounded glances, caught off guard by the sudden outburst.
“What..?” Fushiguro looks at the two with a confused look on his face. Gojo, who looks almost just as confused as Fushiguro, asked, “What picture do you even have?” Itadori digs out of his pocket a small picture of teen Gojo holding a very young looking Fushiguro and shows them. Fushiguro knows exactly when that photo was taken and why it was taken. Fushiguro blushes, his cheeks turning a deep shade of crimson, and he looks at Gojo with a mix of embarrassment and curiosity. “Why do you still have that photo?” Fushiguro’s eyes widen in surprise, clearly taken aback by the fact that Gojo has held onto the picture all this time.
Gojo smiles sheepishly, scratching the back of his head, “Well, it was a pretty special day for the both of us, so I couldn’t help but hold onto that picture. It brings back some great memories.” Itadori and Kugisaki can barely contain their excitement, leaning forward eagerly. Kugisaki blurts out, “Come on, tell us already! How have you two known each other for so long?!” Fushiguro rolls his eyes, looking at Gojo waiting for him to tell the story.
Gojo’s smiles widen, his eyes twinkling with nostalgia. “Well, let me spill the tea, Kugisaki! I’ve known Megumi since I was seventeen, and he was just a little five-year-old. Our connection goes way back, thanks to his ties with the Zenin clan.” Itadori and Kugisaki lean in closer, eager to learn more about their teacher and friend’s past.
Gojo’s smile slightly falters, “ I stumbled upon his father during a mission. He revealed that Megumi was destined to be sold to the Zenin clan in a few years. He left me with a choice - to decide what to do with that crucial information.” The room falls in a hushed silence as Itadori and Kugisaki exchange astonished glances, captivated by the unexpected twist in the story.
Fushiguro’s gaze meets Gojo’s with a flicker of concern, a silent acknowledgement of their shared knowledge. He’s well aware of Gojo’s tumultuous past and the mission that changed everything. Gojo smiles at Fushiguro, as a way to show that he’s okay and can continue. “About a month after that mission, I went to see Megumi.” Itadori and Kugisaki exchange intrigued glances, eager to know the full story.
Gojo smiles, “I bumped into Megumi on his way home from school. I revealed the truth about him and his sister being sold to the Zenin clan. He wanted his sister to find happiness, so I assured him that it wouldn’t be in the clutches of the Zenin clan.” As Fushiguro’s expression shifts, a hint of sadness tugs at his features. His desire for his sister’s happiness clashes with the harsh reality - she’s trapped in a coma, showing no signs of awakening. The weight of that burden hangs heavy in the air around him and Gojo.
“So what happened after that..?” Itadori says, wanting to hear the rest of the story. Gojo smiles, “Well, I watched over him and sister, but that wasn’t enough to protect them from the Zenin clan. So, I adopted him and his sister when I turned eighteen.” “Huh?!” Itadori and Kugisaki both exclaim at the same time. “Yep! I am the legal Guardian of Megumi and his sister, Tsumiki.” Gojo says happily. Fushiguro huffs, slightly embarrassed, but if you look close enough you can see a slight smile.
Over the course of the next few days, Itadori and Kugisaki couldn’t help but be consumed by curiosity. They bombarded Fushiguro and Gojo with questions, eager to get to know more.
Gojo and Fushiguro sat in the quiet hospital room, as they looked upon Tsumiki’s peaceful face. They reminisce about the times they spent together, the laughter, and the unspoken and unbreakable bond they formed.
