Y/n's pov: Squinting my eyes, I followed the beeping sound, reaching my hand out of the warm covers to turn the alarm off. Closing my eyes again, I let out a loud groan, thinking of another hard day ahead. Suddenly I feel someone busting the door open and jumping up onto my bed "Jesus, Nat, get off me!" I yelled at her, trying to push her off me. "Ok, ok. Im getting up. Happy?" I asked sarcastically. She got off me, watching me carefully to make sure I get up. "Yes very" she beamed a grin back at me, making it impossible for me to stay mad at her. "How many times I told u not to open my windows in the morning?" "1. Its part of the plan to wake up each morning, sleepy head, and 2. Its also MY ROOM!!" She explained yelling the last part. I rolled my eyes and started to change into a random dark green jumper I found on the floor and my black mom jeans I wear 95% of the time.
Following that, I began getting my skincare, makeup done and my hair tied into a half-up-half-down hairstyle andI found some clothes for Nat to put on. "Alright, where's your bag?" I questioned the seven-year-old "I left it by the door. I packed everything except for my school lunch, hopping you'd give me some money for cafeteria..." I couldn't resist those puppy eyes she put on and grabbed £5 from my back pocket. "Oki, go downstairs and grab some scrambbled eggs for us, Ill just pack my bag" I watched Nat happily skip towards the stairs and turned around, searching for all my books that were thrown around the entire room.
About 10 mins I had everything packed and looked into my dirty mirror to check I looked morally ok. "Miss y/l/n, why aren't you downstairs with everyone? Your food is going to be cold" "Im just leaving and Natalie saved me a plate, besides, I'd be lucky if there's any left at this point, Miss Tamplin" "I suggest u drop that attitude and hurry downstairs, now"
After dropping Nat off at her school, I walked to mine which was only 15 minutes away. It was now 8.40, meaning I still had 10 minutes until class started. I walked down the hall to my locker, thinking about the offer I got from Mr. Starling, my english teacher, 2 days ago. "Heyyyyy!!!" I jumped, as Nell came up to me from behind and shouted in my ear. "God, Nell, you scared me" "That was the plan" "You spend way too much time with Nat" "Oh stop complaining about her, shes cute" She remarked with a face as if she just spawned in some candyland. "Ye, sure. Try living in the same room as her for 2 years and you'll change your mind" She rolled her eyes as I said that and turned to her locker which was close to mine. "Have you decided on the life-changing offer from Mr. Stark?"
Everyone in our school called him Mr. Stark because he was overly obsessed with Marvel
"Honestly I think I'm gonna decline it. I can't stay over hours on his debating club. Besides, Nat & Leo have a mid-term maths test and they're both shit at multiplying so I gotta tutor them" "I mean I could help you. Like I can tutor the rascals and you go fighting for our rights?" Nell suggested, making me chuckle "Thanks for the amazing offer but I can't. Its too much, but I that reminds me of a favour I wanted to ask you..." "Go ahead, hit me with it" After getting our stuff from our lockers we began heading down to our business class
"Well you know the way I have that maths competition on Tuesday?" Nell nodded "Well Natalie's tennis class got cancelled and I don't have anywhere to leave her for 3 hours, so I was thinking you could mind her for that time. You know both her and I hate being 'there' and she loves you... I know its a lot to ask but-" "Hey, chill. Its oki. Im free on Tuesday so I can watch her, you know I love her like a step sis anyways. Take as much time as you need" She answered with a comforting smile making me let out a breathe of relief I didn't know I was keeping in.
I was walking back 'home' with Nat jumping 2 metres ahead of me, with my head on cloud nine; Mr. Starling with sadness accepted that I can't join his debating club as I excused myself by lying that I have a lot of studying to do and spending time with Nat. Nell at break checked the weather and said it was suppossed to be freezing cold and raining from time to time so she said she will just take Nat to her house and they can watch a movie or something.
~Time skip~
"Umm, Nat?" I asked as she was busy shoving her books and pencil case back in her schoolbag as we finished doing her homework "Yes! Im Wonder Woman!" She shouted with victory as she managed to fit her stuff inside and zip the zipper. She got up from the floor and put the bag by the door and returned to me, realising I was talking to her. "Oh ye, whats up?"
"Nell said she can mind u at her house for a few hours while I'm at the maths competition since ur tennis got cancelled on Tuesday. Hows that sound?" I asked scared since Nat wasn't good in new places and she's never been to Nell's house before, where as I have been a few. "HECK YESSSS!!!" She yelled at the top of her lungs, jumping up and down. Honestly that was the last reaction I was expecting...
"Ok... uhmm... She's gonna collect you and you'll go straight to her home as it might rain. I will pick you up after I'm done. But be on your best behaviour please especially since her M-mum will be there, ok?" I think she noticed how my voice quivered at the end and she immediately calmed down and smiled nodding her head. Nat probably guessed that I feared she would get anxious or scared. I opened my mouth to speak again but I was cut off with her attacking me with a warm hug, cuddling into my chest. I wrapped my arms around her pulling her into a even tighter embrace, staying like this for a few minutes before pulling away. I gave her a kiss on the forehead and pull her up for us to get ready for bed.
