Chapter Text
Lance McClain was an ordinary man. A middle child of sorts from a huge family, with a simple teaching job at the Garrison. It was the summer where all the students would ditch studying and reading what teachers would hope had been finished by the start of the new school year.
Lance McClain stood outside his window, sipping on some tea. He enjoyed the calming sound of the wind that breezed through his hair. A passive white noise that filled his ears and heart. A passive white noise that was now interrupted by a destructive harsh crash. Sending gusts of wind racing through the window, nearly knocking Lance out with all the dust and gravel.
Lance McClain was a simple man, hardly was he ever bothered by the concern of others. In all honesty, he was selfish; but something pulled him towards the glowing purple orb. A feeling he couldn’t describe, a feeling Lance knew, came from his gut, and if he ignored it, well, he wouldn’t know. That scared him.
So he went, grabbing a jacket from the hook and a scarf,
Lance McClain opened the door to something he didn’t know; to someone who would change his life.
