It's strange how fast some things change on the surface. Almost twenty four hours ago a war was waging with humans and mutes willing to wipe the other off the face of the earth and now they were both willing to attempt to reconcile with one another. PRAHM as it was referred to by Kipo was coming together surprisingly well with the former members of Emelias “resistance” stringing lights and setting up tables along the areas of skyscraper bay that had been cleared up by Kipo’s mega form. Wolf helped move a few boxes of decorations that were to be used for the upcoming celebration. It's funny a year ago she wouldn't have imagined helping to bring humans and mutes together. In fact she would have called you crazy and stolen whatever supplies you had on you but here she is doing exactly that.
Placing the box in her hands on the ground, Wolf soon noticed human feet walking past her field of vision but it wasn't the species of the person to whom the feet belonged to but another thing that was attached to the person's shoe.
“Hey stop!” Wolf said, raging her voice to get the unknown person's attention.
Standing up, Wolf finally got a full look at the unknown individual, finding them to be a somewhat familiar face. It was Asher and Dahlia's mother Lily who Wolf easily recognized through her dark skin and long blonde hair. Wolf hadnt had the opportunity to talk with the woman or her husband much since Kipo had gone after Emelias boat soon after the attack on the Timbercat Village except that they had defected and luckily did so before having cured anyone themselves. That and the fact that they raised Asher and Dahlia who were pretty good people seemed to show what type of person the woman and her husband were. The woman just stared at the younger girl looking confused on why the girl had called on her.
“Something wrong?”
“Your shoe.”
“What?” Lily responded clearly confused by the girl's statement.
“Your shoe there's something on the bottom of it I… I just need to see what's on it.”
Not bothering to question the young girl's request, Lily lifted her foot off the ground with her hand grabbing her ankle to keep her food in place upward. Seeing what Wolf had most likely seen Lily grabbed what had been attached to her shoe but didn't see what the fuss was all about. In her hands was just some dead vegetation that was tied together at one end so the plant was stuck in the shape of a circle.
“Hand it over.” Wolf suddenly asked, showing a larger amount of concern than she had a few minutes ago.
“What?” Lily said confused about the request.
“Just give it to me!” Wolf said, raising her voice slightly startling the young woman.
Slowly walking towards the young girl, Lily gave Wolf the dead plant that had been on her shoe a few seconds ago, clearly very concerned at the sudden amount of emotions the young girl had shown. These emotions seemed to increase as she expected the plant to become more distressed as she looked it over.
“Where are they?” the young girl asked
“What?” Lily replied not understanding the question.
“The wolves that led us to you? You separated us the last I saw what happened to them after?”
Lily’s only response was to grab her arm and quickly avert her gaze from the young girl. She hadn't thought about those wolf kids since the attack on the Timbercat village and to be honest she didn't like to think about it. Despite Emelia’s promise to not harm any of them if they brought her Kipo’s friends she almost immediately broke it, curing both mute children in front of her followers' eyes. It was the first time Lily and the others saw Emelia for who she truly was, someone who could hurt someone and not think about it. That was the moment when everyone including herself finally realized that maybe they weren't the good guys like they thought they were. Now being reminded of those kids Lily couldn't help but feel guilty knowing she helped do something so horrible.
The lack of an answer only fueled Wolf’s distress and she suddenly grabbed the woman's collar and pulled her closer so the woman was facing the wolf directly in her face.
“Where are they!!!” Wolf shouted demanding an answer, scaring the woman.
“They were cured!” Lily shouted clearly scared by the girl's anger-fueled question.
Wolf’s angry scowl quickly formed into one of shock staring blankly into space not knowing what to say next.
“W-What?”
“Emelia united them both and as they ran away she shot both of them with a cure dart around the area where you were being held. I-I didn't know that's what she was gonna do. I swear I thought she was gonna let them go like she promised.” Lily explained the clear guilt on her face.
Lily waited for a response from the young girl but all she got was silence. Wolf just let go of her caller allowing her to stand up straight and just stared straight ahead her eyes becoming glossy on the brink of tears. Before Lily could ask what was wrong Wolf ran and headed straight for the woods rushing past anyone in front of her leaving the woman confused.
“What's wrong with Wolf?” Kipo asked, suddenly appearing behind Lily.
“I don't know if she saw some plant on my shoe and suddenly she started asking about those wolf kids and she just got worse from there.”
“What did you say?”
“Emelia she… she cured both of them.” Once Lily said this, Kipo put her hand over her mouth in shock.
“I understand why it's so bad but why did she act like that? I never saw her so upset?”
“The girl wolf her name was Margot and Wolf considered her a sister back then until… It's pretty personal and very complicated.”
Learning this caused Lily to feel a sick feeling in her stomach and all she could do was look in the direction that Wolf had run in.
Wolf ran into the woods toward the area of the building that Emelia had used for her hideout and their prison. Once she had reached it she scoured the ground using tracking tricks that she had learned and eventually saw signs she wished she didn't see. On the ground, there were two sets of footprints that were undeniably wolf prints that were two people who were running and as she followed them Wolf’s blood ran cold when a sudden change to the tracks occurred. Suddenly the tracks became smaller and more numerous as if they had grown more legs. As she followed the tracks she eventually heard a rustling of sticks nearby and looked toward the direction of the sound and saw what she didn't want to find.
In front of her was a mute similar to the cured Bad Billions but this one was smaller and had light blue fur. Looking into the wolf's eyes Wolf could only see a feeling of sadness and fear which seemed to transfer to her. Wolf didn't want to feel like this and she shouldn't Margot had lied and betrayed her twice now but despite that, she still felt a feeling of grief for the wolf girl. She had betrayed her but both times she did not have a choice whether by her parents or Emelia and this time, she had tried to make it right. Now all she could think about was how they couldn't fix their relationship now and it was all Emelia’s fault. Looking at the wolf she gently reached for the wolf but on instinct, the wolf simply turned and ran away into the woods. Wolf could only clench her fist in anguish and punch the ground. At that moment Wolf promised to find Margot again and that Emelia will pay for what she did. With those thoughts, she turned around to make sure she met with Hugo in time to attend PRAHM.
