Not so silly misunderstandings

Summary:

Liu Qingge demanded a fight with the disgraceful, rude coward that goes by the name of Shen Qingqiu, but something goes terribly wrong when he hears loud whimpering from Shen Qingqiu's bamboo hut!

He expected to find a wounded omega, then he'd shame Shen Qingiu before comforting the dishonoured omega. That's what he expected, but instead, the one he was comforting was Shen Qingqiu himself.

Chapter 1: Qing Jing peak lord is an OMEGA!?!? 🙀🙀🙀

Liu Qingge was bored, so he made his way to Shen Qingiu's bamboo hut to demand a battle.

That was maybe over generalising it a little bit.

"Where is your lazy shizun right now? He hasn't been to any of the peak lord meetings, nor has he responded to any of the commissions I have requested him to do." Liu Qingge asked the disciples of Qing Jing Peak as they were all training, he was required to take over for the absent peak lord.

Ning Ying Ying, the normally sweet tempered young lady shot him a nasty glare and went back to practicing her form.

Luo Binghe looked at him for a second, and opened his mouth to say something, but he quickly closed it. His eyes carried some guilt hovering in his pupils when he opened his mouth.

For some reason, when interrogated questioned about the whereabouts of their shizun, the disciples of Qing Jing Peak had all kept their mouths sealed. Especially Ning Ying Ying, but that was a given considering how much she favoured that lecherous bastard over him.

The alpha will admit, that yes, he had once respected Shen Qingqiu's sect and his advantages. That has all changed though, ever since Liu Qingge caught him visiting brothels frequently, he had lost all respect for the man.

How dare someone with his position fool around and dishonour omegan maidens?! Liu Qingge's fist clenched until it turned white, and he stomped faster to Shen Qingqiu's hut.

On his way there, his nose detected the sweet smell of bamboo, trees and freshly brewed tea. Something reminiscent of the scent of an omega in heat. Liu Qingge scowled harder.

How dare that lecherous bastard take an omega into his hut and defile them further!

The closer Liu Qingge walked, the more he could hear the whimpers of the poor omega, and Liu Qingge vowed in his mind silently.

'I don't know who you are, but I promise I will ease your distress.'

Liu Qingge's former thoughts of a friendly spar was completely out of mind as he slammed open the door of the lecherous man, only to find only one person in the humble hut, Shen Qingqiu.

Shen Qingqiu had created a nest full of scented clothes, absolutely drenched with the scent of the omega. The hut felt intoxicating to stand in, the pheromones were making Liu Qingge's mind go hazy.

As Liu Qingge inspected the nest, he noticed something familiar about the white and blue robes that were used for nesting. Those were his robes that went missing the other day!

Liu Qingge's mind was reeling, so he diverted his attention like a true honourable alpha and focused on the distressed omega in front of him.

Shen Qingqiu released loud whimpers and mewls as he felt the presence of the alpha, and his pheromones released were stronger than before. Shen Qingqiu looked vastly different from his usual neat and tidy appearance, his hair was messy and messily strewn about the nest, and his robes were loose, nearly sliding off his slender, pale body.

Liu Qingge went silent, instead of mocking or shaming the disheveled peak lord in front of him, he slid into his nest, and then he brushed through Shen Qingqiu's unruly hair. As he brushed through Shen Qingqiu's silky strands of hair, he fastened Shen Qingqiu's robes without a sound. Ignoring the other male's attempts to mate with him.

"Mate!! You're my mate!" Shen Qingqiu mewled dazedly, clinging onto Liu Qingge and nipping at the alpha.

"No, no. I would never, ever dishonour an omega's purity. Rude bastard or not." Liu Qingge mused as he held the wriggling omega.

Liu Qingge didn't ever want to think about it, but he wondered if Shen Qingqiu visited brothels, not to buy the services, but to sell them instead. Liu Qingge put that thought aside and he focused on rocking the omega to sleep.

Liu Qingge watched the omega drift off into a deep sleep, and he recalled how long omega heats lasted, seven days if he remembered precisely.

Oh dear.

Shen Qingqiu woke up surprisingly clean and comfortable. Normally, in the aftermath of his heats, he would be covered in dried, sticky slick and awaken in messy bedsheets.

Shen Qingqiu looked over next to him and screamed.

"LIU QINGGE?!"

The man in question opened his eyes and yawned, as Shen Qingqiu was panicking and inspecting his body. The poor omega was hyperventilating.

"Did.. Did you..?" Shen Qingqiu snapped angrily as he slid as far as he could away from the terrifying alpha.

"NO! I would NEVER do something like that to a vulnerable omega!"

"Really..?"

"Really!"

"Well if you don't have anymore business with me alpha, then scram back to your own peak! Do NOT expect anything from me in return." Shen Qingqiu furiously wiped his tears and scowled angrily as he pointed to the door out.

Liu Qingge huffed in resignation and stood up, ready to leave and go back to how they were before this incident.

"But first.. Lend me some more of your robes..! In exchange for my silence of course!" Shen Qingqiu added on speedily, right before Liu Qingge left.

A glimmer of something special sparkled in Liu Qingge's eyes, and Shen Qingqiu was already regretting his decision.

So what is Shen Qingqiu was giggling and kicking his feet after Liu Qingge had left? That was none of their damn business!

Chapter 2: Liu Qingge has ZERO courting skills

Liu Qingge attempts to fulfil his duty as an alpha and protect Shen Qingqiu, and Shen Qingqiu hates it, until he doesn't

No matter how hard Liu Qingge tried to get the images of that fateful day out of his head, he couldn't get rid of how absolutely adorable Shen Qingqiu looked that day, it was a shame they weren't mated because Liu Qingge would gladly satisfy Shen Qingqiu's heat if-

No. It's dishonourable to think like that about an omega.

Even if Shen Qingqiu wanted to act like nothing changed between them after 'that day', it was simply impossible for Liu Qingge to hold the same disdain that he did prior to learning about Shen Qingqiu's second gender. The alpha used to believe that Shen Qingqiu was a perverted sick alpha, who went to brothels to do sick things to vulnerable omegan maidens, but now Liu Qingge had been enlightened.

The thought of Shen Qingqiu visiting brothels makes Liu Qingge sick to his stomach, he does not know why an omega would want to sully themselves and give out their purity to perverted alphas, but he will make sure Shen Qingqiu stops these activities. Not for the safety of others, but rather for his own.

Attempt Number 1.

Shen Qingqiu was having a horrible day. First of all, he had to help train and teach that Beast again, which ruins his day as a default. Then, Qi-Ge the Traitor tried to talk to him and explain why he was gone so much, but he was probably just spitting lies to make himself feel better as always. As if the world couldn't give him a break, after that, Ning Yingying was quite sick that day, so that meant he had to train all his MALE ALPHA DISCIPLES. Ew.

The only thing that would brighten up his day is if the only tolerable alpha in the whole mountain started another fight with him. When Shen Qingqiu first became a peak lord, he hated that meat head, Liu Qingge. How he was so focused on honour, and lived in an idealistic world. Shen Qingqiu wanted so badly for Liu Qingge to experience true hardship, to understand that honour won't get you anything if you're an omega slave being abused by an 'honourable' alpha family.

However, something shifted. Shen Qingqiu grew tired of how fake everyone was, and sometimes, his bitterness made even himself scoff sometimes. A secret Shen Qingqiu would take to the grave is, he enjoyed when Liu Qingge fought with him.

The way Liu Qingge would so earnestly challenge him to a duel of honour, with a stupid grin on his face, it made Shen Qingqiu earnestly chuckle a little bit.

But now, Shen Qingqiu messed everything up. Liu Qingge somehow found out where he was staying for his heat, and now it's like Liu Qingge is a completely different person! What happened to the man who glared at him everyday from across the meeting table? What happened to the fights and squabbles? Sure, it's nice being lent Liu Qingge's robes with his scent on it, but now it feels like there's an ulterior motive behind it!

To cool off from this horrible, no good day, Shen Qingqiu was on his way to visit the brothel. The omega was so busy with paperwork lately, that he rarely got to see the women.

While he was thinking about the nice nap he would have at the brothel, Liu Qingge suddenly grabbed him, threw him over the shoulders like a sack of potatoes, and ran back to the mountain.

"What the hell are you doing, you dumb alpha!" Shen Qingqiu yelped as Liu Qingge rushed back.

"Saving an omega from being disgraced obviously." Liu Qingge responded with a dumb grin, Shen Qingqiu was fuming. It felt insulting for his favourite alpha to assume he was whoring himself out at a brothel! Plus, even if he was doing those 'activities', he was sullied long ago by Master Qiu.

Shen Qingqiu gave Liu Qingge a smack on the head with his fan.

"How dare you assume I'm a harlot that would sell my own body!? And even if I did, it's none of your business! Why are you suddenly acting like this, the only thing that changed between us is that you found out I was an omega, and suddenly you're a hero!? Unbelievable!" Shen Qingqiu scoffs and walks away, but not before giving Liu Qingge a firm slap on the cheek with the back of his hand.

Attempt Number 2.

For the first time in a while, life didn't feel completely horrible. He got to go on a mission to kill a demon that was terrorising a village. Shen Qingqiu broke out into a small smile as he thought about how amazing the mission would be. He had been training especially hard in the past month so it would be interesting to see how it would pay off when he would kill the demon. Ning Yingying finally recovered from her sickness too, so he was planning to bring her along with the other disciples for some first-hand experience when it comes to killing a demon. 

Shen Qingqiu had to admit that there were other reasons he was excited to leave for the mission. Apparently, Shang Qinghua, that rat, had overheard Yue Qingyuan conversing with Mu Qingfang about Shen Qingqiu's heat cycles and mood swings. Shang Qinghua confronted Shen Qingqiu about him being an omega, and it felt like an uncomfortable discussion to have, so Shen Qingqiu cursed Shang Qinghua out and fled. Shen Qingqiu sweats at the thought of Shang Qinghua attempting to have a proper confrontation again, so going to the mission sounds like the perfect escape!

As he was humming to himself, Liu Qingge approached him with a raised eyebrow, (and a bruised cheek).

"What's gotten you so happy?" Liu Qingge asked as he looked up and down at Shen Qingqiu's relaxed figure.

For once, Shen Qingqiu didn't feel like making a snappy quip, so he just said, "I'm going on a mission to slay a demon that's been terrorising a village, it feels good to go out every now and then."

"I don't think that's very safe." Liu Qingge grumbled, with a very strange look on his face.

"What do you mean? I can handle myself fine, I've done so for all of my past missions." Shen Qingqiu asks as he cocked his head to the side, his voice skeptical and unsure of where Liu Qingge was going with this.

"I mean that an omega like you-" Liu Qingge starts, but immediately shuts up when he notices the dark look of pure disdain on Shen Qingqiu's face. Before Shen Qingqiu could spit any vitriol at him, Liu Qingge does the smart move for once and speeds out. 

Shen Qingqiu huffs in frustration, taking his anger out on some nearby trees instead of chasing after Liu Qingge and beating him to a pulp. Sometimes, Liu Qingge's naivete made him want to crash his head into a wall.

The next day, as Shen Qingqiu was leaving the mountain, he was very confused on why his disciples were heading out with Liu Qingge. Liu Qingge was talking with Yue Qingyuan so Shen Qingqiu joined the conversation.

"Why are my disciples with Liu Qingge on his way to MY mission?"

"Well, Liu Qingge has suggested that you need to rest after your last mission since it was quite tiring." Yue Qingyuan spoke with a pleasant, fake smile.

"Liu Qingge said what." Shen Qingqiu's rant of fury could be heard from across the nation for the next forty minutes, and Yue Qingyuan was forced to allow Shen Qingqiu to go on his mission.

Attempt Number 3.

Liu Qingge was about to go insane. He tried everything to court Shen Qingqiu! He tried protecting him from brothels, he tried to protect him from a demon, but it seemed like nothing worked, and it seems to just push the omega away, Shen Qingqiu has been requesting his robes a lot less and avoiding eye contact with him. Liu Qingge would do anything to be Shen Qingqiu's mate, even if he had to shamefully beg the omega to give him a chance, which he may consider doing.

One day, right after a meeting with all of the peak lords, Liu Qingge got on his knees in front of Shen Qingqiu and begged his heart out.

"Please, please, please let me be your alpha! I've tried everything to be your mate, but it always seems to push you away, so tell me how to win your heart!"

The alpha cried out and looked up at the omega. Shen Qingqiu first glared at Liu Qingge, before it softened.

"You really are an idiot. You've always had my heart, but you keep doing idiotic things that make me wonder why I even give you a chance. I know you believe that an alpha's job is to protect an omega, but can this alpha's job be to just be the omega's companion?" Shen Qingqiu's voice didn't sound as hateful nor full of scorn, but rather, affection. "If you want to be my alpha, then allow me to make my own decisions, and maybe be more understanding. Now get off the floor, idiot."

"I don't understand, don't omegas need protection?" Liu Qingge asks as he gets up, genuinely curious.

"I've made it this far without an alpha, I can assure you I don't need protection." Shen Qingqiu quips back. Liu Qingge has a rare moment of understanding in his eyes, before pulling Shen Qingqiu into a hug. Shen Qingqiu rolls his eyes before melting into the hug too.

"Are... Are we mates?" 

"No, not yet. It's too soon but.. I would gladly let you be my boyfriend." Shen Qingqiu admitted as he pulls Liu Qingge in for a kiss, unlike all the other kisses in Shen Qingqiu's life, instead of the feeling of disgust and hatred that usually came with kisses, this kiss felt soothing.

The two lovers engaged in some silent cuddling in bed after that, Shen Qingqiu bared his nape to the alpha, who smelt it and grunted in satisfaction. Shen Qingqiu smiled and pat Liu Qingge's head. 

Shen Qingqiu and Liu Qingge felt content.

Sorry for not updating in a while, my grandpa was with diagnosed stage 4 cancer and only has a couple of years left to live and my dad is going to have open heart surgery so i wasnt rlly in the correct mindset to write lol
