Chapter Text
Chapter one: A short visit.
It's 4:30 pm. This is the time when Samuel comes out of his new work office. It had been a day full of hard work, but it meant nothing to Samuel as he had gotten used to it after a couple of months of working there. He walked towards the parking area where his black sedan car is parked and pressed the lock button on his car key to unlock it. He got into the car and drove out of the parking area towards the street. While on the way, Samuel is thinking about two things: visiting his mother because he hasn’t seen her in the last two weeks because of work pressure. And the second thing was going to the grocery store to get some missing things from the home storage. While Samuel was thinking about some other things, the green light from the traffic pole cut off his train of thought, so he stopped thinking to concentrate on the road. After a while, he arrived at his mother's house, where he spent most or all of his childhood memories and moments. He then parked the car in front of the house and made sure that he locked it before he left it. The neighborhood around the house is so quiet, with only the sound of some children playing in the distance. He then stood in front of the front door and rang the bell. After a small while, an old model nandroid opened the door. It was Emillia, the nandroid that had taken care of him and his younger brother Nathan when they were young. Emillia is still quite new, and that is due to some small replacements, going to Sterling appointments regularly, and doing a yearly shake on her systems since she turned on and started working for the first time....Emillia is the only one now left in the house with Samuel's mother. To help her with the hard chores of the house, like cleaning and vacuuming the big rooms, preparing meals with difficult recipes, going to the grocery store at the end of the street and some other things.
"Hi Sam, long time no see," said Emillia, greeting him with a slight smile.
"hello Emillia It's good to see you again," said Samuel with a tired tone.
They both entered, and Samual closed the door behind him. He took off his black shoes and gave Emillia his jacket suit to hang by the door, and then they talked for a while.
"So, how are you today Emillia?". said Samuel, reassuring her.
"Well, I'm doing great. What about you? Where did you disappear all this time?". Emillia joked
"ahh....nothing,it's just some work stuff distracted me this two weeks"
"Why don't you go sit down and relax in the living room, you look exhausted" said Emillia and she is worried about him.
"Thank you Emillia I will......Oh and one more thing, where is mom? I want to say hi to her."
"She's in the backyard doing some gardening"
"Alright, thanks again," said Samuel as he headed to the backyard while Emillia went back to her left-over chores."
Passing by the living room, he noticed the old family photographs adorning the walls. Each picture captured a moment frozen in time, a testament to the love and joy that had filled this house. A smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he remembered about the countless family gatherings and celebrations that had taken place in this room.
As he reached the back door, Samuel's heart skipped a beat.The backyard had always been a sanctuary, a place where he and his father and brother would spend countless hours together, tending to the garden or simply enjoying each other's company. The sight of the blooming flowers and the gentle rustling of leaves brought a sense of tranquility that washed over him and fixed his tired mood a little. By Stepping outside, he saw his mother by one of the corners doing some gardening. So he said in a slightly louder voice.
"Mum"
His mother noticed the familiar voice of her son, so she left the gardening tools and turned around to see her son standing in the back.
"Oh Samuel, welcome back" said his mother while they both standing near the back door.
"Finally, you remembered visiting me?"
"I'm sorry mum I was incredibly busy"
"It's OK, come on let's talk inside"
They both entered the house, heading to the living room to talk.
"So...how are you Sam?,and how is your work?,Doing great in it?".said his mother.
"I'm fine, it's just......the work is hard abit"
"It's OK, sometimes the beginning is a little hard"
"Yeah, but I think it's more harder than I thought"
As they continued talking, Samuel shared some stories and situations about his work office during the past two weeks. He spoke about the team that he is working with, and how his boss depends on him in a lot of office tasks. While they are talking his mother said.
"Why you still wearing your tie honey? You are not at work any more?"
" yeah you're right, also it's started to annoy me" said Samuel while he is taking off his tie, then he folded it and placed it right next to him.
Then they continued taking about different and random topics , then Samuel's mother asked him.
"so, Are you doing fine living alone?"
"Yeah, why are you asking?" Said Samuel wondering.
"Nothing, it's just...sometimes I feel worried about you" said with a anxiety tone.
"It's OK mum...we talked about this. The house I found is relatively close to my work place so it saves alot of time for me, also I don't want to be a burden to you."
"No I didn't mean that....What I meant was, how do you handle the housework on your own, especially at times when you come home from work late exhausted and tired."
"I do as much as I can this matter." said Samuel.
"Look, I thought about it and figured it out"
"And, what did you figure out?"
"I decided to bring you a nandroid to help you in the house".
Samuel fell silent for a while and thinking about his mother's decision,after a while he said."Are you sure about this decision?"
"Yes, with one around your house, she can take care of the household tasks, and by her help you can focus on your work......Also, I already sent a request and they are coming in ten days, and here is a copy of the request."
Then his mother went away for a few seconds and then came back with a yellow piece of paper and gave it to him and said. "They might need it".
Samuel took the paper from his mother and read it carefully, then he noticed that the delivery address would be to his house. Well, this is Great, then he said.
"Thank you very mush, mum"
Then Samuel looked at his watch, it's 9:00 , it's time for him leave and go home and also go to the grocery store before it close. he said to his mother.
"It's heading into nine, I have to leave."
"Yeah you are right it's getting late you should better go home and have a rest." said Samuel's mother while looking at the antique wall clock.
Samuel went to the front door, then put on his shoes and his tie, and while he was putting on his jacket suit, Emillia and Samuel's mother came to say goodbye.
"Mum, do you want me to do anything for you before I leave." said Samuel making sure that his mother doesn't need any thing.
"No, son thank you, you did a lot today ."
"And you Emillia, do you want me do anything for you too?."
"No, Sam thank you, I want you to be well and safe." Said Emillia
"Thank you Emillia." said Samuel with a slight smile.
Then he opened the door and said "Well bye", and closed it, he walked to his car and got in, then he left.
Samuel finally arrived at his house after he bought some items from the grocery store. He entered the house holding his bag of items and his suitcase with his two hands. He put his suitcase on the table and took the bag of items to the kitchen. He then emptied its contents and put everything in its designated place.Then he went to eat something quick before going to sleep. After he ate something quickly, Samuel put the dishes in the sink, ignoring the need to wash them and deciding to wash them in the morning before going to work. Then he checked his watch again. It's 11:00. Samuel said, surprised by the time, "Oh God, it's only one hour left before midnight; I have to get myself ready to bed so I can wake up tomorrow early"..He quickly went to the bathroom to take a quick, hot shower. After he finished, Samuel went to his office as usual to prepare the important papers and documents to take with him to work tomorrow. Then he went to his bedroom next to his office, eager to sleep. Samuel lay on his bed, thinking about his mother's suggestion and her sudden decision."I think my mum is right"......."May be a nandroid here wouldn't be bad".He thought to himself, and after a few moments Samuel fell into a deep sleep, to get ready to go to work early tomorrow.

Ten days have passed since Samuel visited his mother. Samuel woke up and it was daylight. He looked at his alarm clock. It's 10:00 AM . Samuel thought for a moment that he would be late for work, but he remembered that today is an official holiday. Great. A day for a special relax and reading another book. Samuel got off bed and got some clothes from the clothes drawer, then went to the bathroom to take a shower. After a few minutes, Samuel went to the kitchen to get some tea and something light to eat with it, then he went to the living room with tea and a book to read. Samuel spent several hours reading his book, until the doorbell rang. The bell caught Sam's attention as he thought about who can be the at door. He got up towards the door to see who might be.....
