Chapter Text

A rainy night. A stormy night, just how Rui liked it. Nothing better than a night like this.

“Rui, will you stop staring at your window? What are you daydreaming about?” Nene asked with her usual blunt tone.

“Oh Nene, I just wonder if I’ll ever find love, you see?” Rui said still staring out the window as thunder came crashing down.

“Oh please, you know you’ll probably have an arranged marriage like our mother” Nene said.

Oh! Of course! I am the narrator and I barely explained anything! How foolish of me!

So pause the story for a bit.

Rui and Nene and descendants of the vampire queen, Meiko and the vampire king, Kaito. Meiko and Kaito had an arranged marriage. But fell in love after about 100 years of marriage.

“A hundred years?!” You may be asking. Yes. They are vampires after all. They have been married for 300 years. Rui is 170 years old and Nene is not much younger than him, 160 years old.

But enough of the paused story. Continuing!

“I’d like if you wouldn’t remind me of that…” Rui mumbled.

“I’m just being real over here. It’s kinda obvious. Don’t you think?” Nene asked.

“Yes.. Though, I wish I wasn’t forced to marry anyone. Especially, Mizuki. I see them more as a friend. I couldn’t possibly see them as my partner for the rest of eternity. Because you know…” Rui said.

“Oh yeah. You prefer guys. And Mizuki isn’t a guy. Yeah. I get it. But you know you don’t have a choice, right?” Nene said

“I know…”

Suddenly, there was a knock at their door.
It was their guard. Aoyagi Toya.

“Sir. Miss. We have a problem. We need your help. Your parents can’t attend to the problem right now so. Could you two please help us solve it?” Toya said in his usual monotone.

“We’re heading there now.” Rui said as he got up and walked towards the door. Nene was following right behind him.

Oh! Yeaaaaahhhhh… Pause this real quick.
I keep forgetting to mention stuff. But right now, Meiko and kaito are out to meet up with the Akiyama’s and will only be returning in a day or two.

Keep that in mind as to why Rui and Nene are going instead of them.

Okay now sorry for pausing too much.

As Rui and Nene arrived at the throne room they saw four guards holding two humans by their arms. A boy and a girl.

The boy was squirming around trying to let himself loose, while the girl looked as if she was forced to spark hermit searcher Ena and is now broke for the next event which is an Ena focus event with decora fashion.

“Nii-chan. What do we do?!” The girl said nervously.

“WILL YOU STOP SQUEEZING MY ARM?! We’ll figure something out. But I would really thank if he stopped squeezing my arm!” The boy said.

His voice was so loud, even a deaf person could hear it and it could make someone deaf.

The vampires even flinched at the sound of his voice.

“So. What happened exactly.?” Rui asked still surprised by the decibels the blonde boy’s could reach.

“We found these two trespassing the vampire territory. They were also with a pink one, but we weren’t able to catch her in time.” Toya said.

“I see…”

“But sir. What do you think we should do? I’m smelling their blood. It’s smells pretty sweet and good.” Toya said putting his hand on the blonde boy’s shoulder from behind.

“Hm… the girl has a sweeter blood… we can keep her. The other is also good. But I prefer her blood.” Rui said as he approached the blonde girl.

The blonde boy then suddenly yelled in his highest decibel

“DONT GET NEAR MY SISTER!!”

Rui flinched backwards and almost tripped.

Then, the blonde boy continued talking

“Take me instead! Not her! I was the one dragging her into vampire territory by accident! We promise not to to do anything like this again!” The blonde boy pleaded. He didn’t want anything to happen to his beloved sister.

“Don’t yell like that! Geez!” Rui said annoyed

That was when Nene walked over to Rui and whispered in his ear.

“I have a better idea”

“What?”

“Remember how our jester passed away a decade ago?”

“Yes.”

“And how we’re becoming increasingly bored?”

“Yes, so?”

“How about we force this blonde boy to be our jester for the rest of his life and let the blonde girl go? I feel like that boy could bring us some actual entertainment”

“Hm… you are very merciful… but we have been needing a jester.”

“See? Now what do you say?”

“Fine…”

Rui turned back to the blonde boy.

“We won’t kill you nor your sister. Under once condition of course.”

“Deal” The blonde boy said confidently.

“But you didn’t even let me finish…” Rui said confused.

“Life or death situation. I choose life.” The boy said.

“Very well then. Let the girl loose and you start working in an hour.” Rui said as the guards took the blonde girl outside

“May I ask your name?” Rui said turning to the blonde boy.

“Tsukasa. Tenma Tsukasa.” The blonde boy said. He bowed in Rui’s presence to show respect. Because that would be the only way he would live.

“Welcome to the vampire world. Tsukasa-kun.” Rui Said extending his hand to Tsukasa.

Tsukasa took his hand and shook it. Problem was, Tsukasa was thinking “HOLY MOLY THIS VAMPIRE IS PRETTY…” or something like that. I have no clue. But all I know is that this guy found Rui pretty.

Very pretty at that.

But anyways. And with that, we venture to the world of two souls. Destined to either be together for eternity, or be separated for all eternity.

Chapter Text

A few days had passed. Meiko and Kaito had returned, they met Tsukasa, and given Tsukasa’s great acting skills and his comically loud voice, he is able to entertain the vampires quite well. He puts on small comical plays and tell jokes (adapting them to vampires) and he is honestly doing a pretty good job!

Except there is one tiny problem. Tsukasa realized he caught feelings for Rui, even though they aren’t even that close! How stupid…

But of course, Tsukasa had a job to do, and he couldn’t fall for some tall, handsome, nice… okay maybe Tsukasa can’t think straight when describing Rui. But the amount they’ve interacted, Tsukasa already fell. Some could say love at first sight? Not sure.

But to be honest. I have no clue what Tsukasa sees in that guy. Rui is a messy drinker, meaning when he comes home after hunting for a human to suck on, (suck on their blood please I am sfw..) you can still see the blood drippings and marks.

And he has a sly? Flirty? I’m not even sure what to call that anymore… but yeah you get the idea (I think).

Making the situation even worse for Tsukasa!

Goddamnit Rui!

But anyways, Today, the Noble, Mizuki Akiyama, arrives at the Kamishiro castle. And you can probably guess for what. (Because I kinda hinted it last chapter haha.)

But anyways.

“Tsukasa! Come here please!” Rui called from the garden. He was talking with Mizuki and they started getting bored.

After a few minutes, Tsukasa arrived with his jester outfit and make-up on, and the bells from his outfit jingling.

“Was I called, your highness?” Tsukasa said giving a respectful bow.

But okay real quick let’s pause the story.

Why was there a time skip?? WELL NOTHING INTERESTING HAPPENED THEN! And we only want the good juicy gossip worthy interesting stuff about how a vampire fell for a human??? Maybe?? I’m not sure. Only time will tell. But I’ll admit, Tsukasa’s gay panic last episode was perfect! And yes! Tsukasa already fell for Rui. Sorry slow burn fans, lmfao.

Anyways I think I held you back enough. Anyways. Back to the story!

“This is Akiyama Mizuki, they arrived here a few hours ago.” Rui said with a smile while gesturing to the long, pink haired and eyed girl.

“It’s my pleasure, miss Akiyama!” Tsukasa said with a cordial bow.

“It’s good to meet you, Tsukasa. You don’t need to be so formal with me” Mizuki said with a smile.

“Ah! Alright! But it’s only natural for a star like me to be this formal!”

“Star..?” The pink haired girl said turning to her vampire company.

“Yeah, he rambles about that a lot.”

“I see..”

“But anyways! Tsukasa-kun! Could you please demonstrate one of your shows? Miss Akiyama was curious about them.” Rui said as he turned to the human of the three.

“Of course!” Tsukasa said as he stroke a dramatic pose and became rambling about how he was going to be a star, and what his name meant and told stories and never got to the point.

That’s what made him so interesting. He can talk about 100 things at the same time!

As the show went on, Tsukasa couldn’t help but feel jealous… He wanted to be that close to Rui. He wanted to have the same relationship Rui had with Mizuki… but more…

Damn this guy is just a BIGGGGG hopeless romantic.

Someone give him an oscar already.

Tsukasa finished his little presentation and bowed as he was called by the king and queen to the make them enjoy themselves.

“Woah…! This guy may actually have the potential to be a star… His show was amazing!” Mizuki said in awe!

What they didn’t know, is that they would get some terrible news later on.

And someone save those gays because the writer just loves making them miserable.. damn…

But anyways. Tsukasa went to make the other royals enjoy themselves and Tsukasa ran around the entire castle. Lightening up the mood and stuff like that…

Dinner time arrived.

Rui, Mizuki, Kaito, Nene and Meiko were sitting at the table. Tsukasa had to stay in a corner waiting to see if he would get any orders.

One of the maids, Kohane and her girlf—— I mean… co-worker, An, we’re serving the food.

The royals ate… I mean drank blood freshly harvested from the humans from the prison.

After their meal, Kaito stood up and said:

“I have decided that Miss Akiyama will be marrying my son, Kamishiro Rui to unite the north and the southern vampire kingdoms.” Kaito said with a happy yet serious tone.

Everyone in the room was in shock.

Meiko was smiling.

Rui and Mizuki looked nervous.

Nene just had a look of disappointment in her face.

Tsukasa was stunned by the news.

And the other maids were congratulating them… woo?

I don’t know.

But Tsukasa felt hurt and jealous. He was holding back tears.

He loved Rui

He adored Rui.

He felt devastated.

But in the end… he knew vampires and humans can’t stay together.

…

After everyone was dismissed, Tsukasa was headed for his chambers, when An stopped him.

“Tsukasa. You look sad. Is something wrong?”

“… *muffled sniffs and sobs*”

“You like Rui. Don’t you?” An asked with a serious tone.

An caught on. That’s all Tsukasa could think about.

“Tsukasa?”

“… An…” The blonde of the two muttered.

“If you want, we can go to a more private place I know.” An said.

“Huh? But where? Besides… I’m still on duty..” Tsukasa asked

“I’ll tell them you’re feeling sick. Cmon.”
An said motioning Tsukasa to follow her.

Tsukasa reluctantly followed. But he knew that if he got caught. He would face Kaito and Meiko like me when I don’t get a four star on ten pull.

But enough of that.

They walked until they reached a corner of the castle garden that had a sewer??

An opened the sewer lid.

“Wait. I am not going in. If this outfit gets dirtied, I am screwed.” Tsukasa complained.

“It’s a tunnel.” An said jumping inside.

“Just jump in, you big baby.” An said as she dug up a lantern from the dirt.

Tsukasa sighed deeply and went inside the tunnel.

That’s when he realized it wasn’t a sewer for real and a passage to somewhere.

“Alright, grab this lantern and turn it on.” An said as she handed Tsukasa a lantern.

He grabbed the lantern and they started walking down the tunnel with An going infront.

After about 20 minutes of walking and turning, they reached where about 5 tunnels with… a door? And a small line.

“Excuse me! Coming through! Ken’s daughter and her friend coming through!”
An said as her and Tsukasa skipped the line.

An then reached the door and knocked on it with a pattern.

A ginger haired guy opened the door.

“Hm? Oh, hey An.”

“Akito!! Great to see ya, so are they any tables still available, or did those guys already arrive?” An said

Turns out the ginger’s name was Akito it seems.

“Yeah.” Akito said.

“Great! Cmon Tsukasa!” An said dragging Tsukasa to a table as she waved to the guy behind the counter.

The guy waved back and Tsukasa and An sat down.

“Alright. Tell me what’s on your mind, Tsukasa.” An said with a smile.

“… I… like Rui…” Tsukasa muttered.

“O- WAIT HUH?!” An asked SHOCKED.

“Yes. I like Rui, very much. And seeing him being forced to marry miss Mizuki… It hurts, y’know? And I know we couldn’t be together in the first place. But these past few days I spent in the castle. He’s been very sweet to me. And he is also very pretty… I just can’t help but fall for him!”

Tsukasa said a bit frustrated. His feelings were getting the better of him. But he had fallen too deeply now.

“And besides, we are completely different species. There is no way we could be together even if we wanted to!” Tsukasa said hitting his head on the table.

What a hopeless romantic… geez.. it’s making me feel sick.

“Tsukasa. Listen. I have two things to tell you. Do you know why I am a vampire?” An said.

“No?”

“Because, I asked Kohane to transform me so we could be together! It’s kinda obvious, no? Like I have a human dad… I usually wake up the earliest with you… and etc.”

“So there is still a chance I could be with Rui?” Tsukasa Said raising his head from the table with a glimmer of hope.

“I mean, yeah. And two, I’ve noticed Rui isn’t very keen on Mizuki.” An whispered.

“So..I could have a shot with him?” Tsukasa asked with a smile.

“Yeah! And if the royals don’t approve, you both and hide here. We have rooms we use to help out people”

“Oh my goodness! Thanks An!” Tsukasa Said with his star-like smile returning.

“But what if he doesn’t feel the same?!” Tsukasa said changing to a worried expression

“Calm down! Don’t confess until you’re certain. Okay?” An said reassuring him

“Alright… thanks!”

“No problem!” An said. “But anyways, how about we have something to drink?”

“Of course!” Tsukasa said.

After a few hours, night struck and they went back to the castle. Tsukasa was walking past Rui’s room when he heard sobbing.

Tsukasa was hesitant but he needed to see what was wrong so he knocked on the door.

It was Rui. He was the one crying.

“Tsukasa..kun..?” Rui muttered, hiccuping from his sobs.

“Your highness! Is everything okay?! Do you need to talk?!” Tsukasa said rushing to his side with his goofy bells jingling as he walked in that funky jester outfit.

Such a silly gay. But anyways. Back to the story.

“N- No! I don’t want to marry Mizuki. I never loved Mizuki. I only see them as a friend… besides… I’m sick of being royalty.. it’s always: Rui do this! Or, Rui help us! Or, Rui do that! Ugh… it’s just… annoying… and having to live up to everyone’s expectations… not being to do what I like…” Rui ranted while looking at a.. blueprint for a robot?

“I like building robots. And doing mechanical stuff like that… but…”

“But you can’t do it as to not disappoint anyone around you. Right?” Tsukasa interrupted.

“Y- Yeah…”

“I’m sorta like you in a way. I wanted to be a famous actor. But I’m stuck here. And to not disappoint anyone, I put this goofy smile on my face to make everyone happy.” Tsukasa said pulling his cheeks to force a smile.

“Yeah… we are alike…” Rui said looking down

Now we’re gonna go Disney / y/n / idk what you wanna call it. But our funky looking vampire (that is somehow attractive to the jester (but I’m a lesbian so Idfk what he sees in him)) and goofy jester are about to do something… very… interesting…

Suddenly, Rui got an idea. An idea that could change both his and Tsukasa’s life forever.

“Tsukasa-kun. Since me and you are tired of this. How about we run away from here?” Rui asks with a shimmer of determination in his eyes.

WHAT… IN… THE.. DISNEY MUSICAL IS THIS????

Okay okay maybe I should just continue narrating before our second narrator shows up…

“Rui..? Are you… serious..?” Tsukasa asks surprised.

“Yes. Let’s run away.” Rui said with a grin creeping on his face.

"Rui, are you serious?!"

"Yes. Please. Run away with me. Then, we could finally follow our dreams, no?" The purple one of the two said with a serious tone. I've never thought I'd see Rui so serious in my life...

"..." Tsukasa stayed silent for a moment. He needed to get his thoughts in place. And think of the pros and cons of the situation

Pros:
- Following his dream of being a star
- Helping his "crush" be free
- Seeing his sister and friends again
- Being free from the vampires.
- Maybe have a chance at Rui?

Cons:
- Vampires would probably go after him and Rui
- If they found out he helped Rui, he would sure be executed
- Where would they hide right after they went away?
- Scrap that last part, they had that hideout An offered.
- BUT WHAT IF THE VAMPIRES FOUND OUT ABOUT THE HIDEOUT???

That was basically the list, so, Tsukasa decided that yes, he would help Rui out.

I mean.. its the more reasonable option...

"So?" Rui asked the blonde with a curious look on his face

"... fine..." Tsukasa answered

"Great! We should come up with a plan or something like that..." The vampire said

Okay now pause the story quickly

I know this is really cliche and stuff, but this is literally what happened! I saw it with my own eyes even!

But [REDACTED]~~ This isn't clicheeeee...

[REACTED 2] I'm the narrator here! I can say what I want of this story.

Fineeeeee... just don't call it cliche!

Alright, now can I continue with the story?

Yes.

OK, back to the story!

Tsukasa and Rui decided to make up their plan and escape during the morning, where everyone would be sleeping. (Not surprising, most of them are vampires).

So the plan was, Tsukasa was going to take Rui at 5 am to a hideout he knew and they would decide if they would go to the human world or if they would just do something else in the meanwhile there.

Because the castle was at least a 5 day walk to the closest human town. So yeah. They would need to figure something out fast.

Now my dear reader, you may be wondering how in the fuck Tsukasa and Saki reached that castle so quickly.

Simple, they have a cottage in the middle of the forest near the lake near the castle. And they took a car sooooooo...

Yeah.

"5 am, 14th of September

This is... TSUKASA TENMA'S RUNAWAY DIARY! Journey of a star!☆

It is currently 5 in the morning and me and Rui (The vampire that I like and that forced me to become a jester), are currently escaping the vampire castle... praying we won't get caught but hopefully we won't.

We are currently walking through the halls of this castle and I will update you when we get to the hideout

- Tsukasa T. ☆"

Tsukasa closed his diary and grabbed his bags to leave with Rui.

"Tsukasa-kun, where are you taking me?"

"You'll see."

The two (soon-to-be gay boyfriends) friends started to head for the tunnel entrance.

When they reached it, Rui looked down at it in confusion and disgust, because it was literally a sewer entrance.

"Yeah, no. I'm not going in there" Rui said holding back from gagging. I mean he lived like a prince all his life, so I kinda get him...

"Do you want to escape or not?" Tsukasa asked opening the sewer entrance and jumping in.

"I mean.. I do... I just don't want to go in a sewer..." The purple guy said.

"This is our best option, so it's either this, or nothing." The blonde said, lighting up a torch.

"Fine.." Rui jumped in and was surprised to find out it was a secret passage way to somewhere.

"Since when was this here?!"

"I don't know, but it is a life savior right now."

"I mean I guess..."

And so the two opposing colored guys started making their way to this so called hide out.

WOWOWOWOWOWOWWWWOWOWOWOW!!!!! [REDACTED]! YOU NEVER TOOK ME THERE!,

That's because it's gone now...

WHAT?! WHYYYYY!

You'll see soon enough. But let me continue the story, [REDACTED 2]!

OK, now on with the story...

"Tsukasa-kun. Since when did you find out about this place?"

"A few hours ago. Thank An. She was the one who brought me here. Her dad owns the place."

"Wait, Shiraishi? Wow, I never would've guessed.."

"She kept it very well hidden"

The two men continued walking towards the hideout

When they reached the hideout, the door was opened and Akito was cleaning.

"Oh? Aren't you friends wi- IS THAT THE VAMPIRE PRINCE?!!?" Akito said FREAKING out.

"Calm down! I need a place to hideout... that's why I'm here..." The vampire prince said

"Why?!" The ginger asked

"It's complicated... but, me and Tsukasa-kun here REALLLLYYYY need a room to hideout in"

"... Fine.. Talk with Ken at the counter." Akito said inviting the purple-yellow duo inside.

"Thank you." Rui said as he and Tsukasa headed inside.

They went up to the counter and Tsukasa started to talk.

"Listen, Mr. Shiraishi, me and Rui really need a place to stay, because, we literally just ran away from the vampire castle"
Tsukasa said.

"That's fine. Just be careful so that the guards didn't catch onto the both of you." Ken said sighing and searching for something under the counter.

"We were." Rui assured

"Alright, room 107, down that hall to the right." Ken said handing them the keys.

"Thank you, Mr. Shiraishi" Rui replied.

"Eh. It's no problem." Ken said as he went over to the other side of the counter to help out some other customer.

The vampire-human combo duo (this sounded like a Mc Donald's hamburger menu...) grabbed their key and went to their room.

They got to their room and Rui just PLOPPED onto his bed

Sorry readers, no only one bed situation. Whomp whomp.

Tsukasa set his stuff down on his bed and grabbed his diary... once again.

"7 am, 14th of September.

We did it! We escaped and now I can finally pursue my dream of being a world famous star!

Although.. its going to be really awkward between me and Rui because of the fact I like him, but I have no idea of he likes me!!

Ugh... being in-love is the worst.. especially if you are going to share a room with the person you like.

But anyways, it seems Rui fell asleep, so I should also probably get some sleep too... but I still have so many ideas to brainstorm!!

Like what if I asked Rui to do shows with me so we could both become stars!

Or maybe we could live in my family cottage and live a normal life! Maybe get a dog or a kid..

Ok, now I'm just fantasizing... BUT YOU GET WHAT I MEAN!

Anyways... I'm tired as heck... I might as well just go to sleep..

Tsukasa closed his diary and just slowly drifted into sleep. Little did they know what was coming for them...

Rui woke up first, of course, makes sense, he slept first after all.

It was 12 pm (midday), not a normal time for a vampire to be awake, let's be honest.

But, Rui couldn't go to sleep again. Not being in his usual room may have that effect, but I don't know, it's just a wild guess but anyways.

The purple vampire decided it would be nice to drink some blood, since he hadn't had anything to drink for the last 6 hours. And I mean... Tsukasa was right there...

But he couldn't, Tsukasa helped him so much that at that point, drinking his blood would just be betraying him.

Though it was very tempting, Rui resisted his urges and went to the bar to see if there was any blood he could drink.

Because I mean, if he did bite Tsukasa, Tsukasa would either

A: Turn into a vampire.

B: Be with a neck pain for at least a few days.

Why did he have the chance of turning into a vampire?

Simple! The royal vampire family has an ability special to them and them only. Turning other people into vampires!

The only way a common vampire could turn a human into a vampire would be with a certain special potion that is a tinyyyy bitty hard to get (When I mean hard I mean it takes an entire year to get all the ingredients for the potion)

But that makes it so the royal vampire family cannot in any circumstance bite a human, so usually, they used to feed in harvested blood from the humans in the dungeon

[REDACTED]! IS THIS TRUE..?

[REDACTED 2], Yes. It is.

That's scaryyy~~

I know. But please let me continue the story, love...

ALRIGHTYY~

OK, now on with the story.

Rui reached the bar and noticed that Ken wasn't there, instead, it was the ginger boy from earlier.

"Hm? Where is Ken?" Rui asked

"Oh! Sorry, Ken works during the night and i work during the day." Akito replied with that sickening nice guy persona.

"I see, well, do you guys have blood?" The purple one of the two asked as he sat down on one of the stools at the bar.

"What type?" Akito said opening the cabinet.

"Human..."

"Uh, we have one last packet." Akito said handing over the blood packet to Rui.

Rui took the packet and started to drink it.

"Wasn't that guy you were with your blood supply?" The ginger asked.

"Tsukasa-kun? No, no, he is my companion. Besides, I can't bite humans or they turn into vampires." Rui replied a slight bit offended that this human just assumed Tsukasa was a blood supply.

"Oh. Alright, whatever you say, piss eyes" Akito said teasingly.

Pfft. Piss eyes.

"Please don't call me that. That's just cruelty." Rui replied.

"Alright, alright."

That was when a familiar voice joined them.

"Hm? Rui? I thought you'd still be asleep." Tsukasa said rubbing his eyes exhausted.

"Ah! Tsukasa-kun! You're awake." Rui said with his usual cat-like grin striking his face.

"Yeah, good morning.. *yawn*" Tsukasa said sitting on the stool next to Rui and laying his head down.

"Wow. Talk about a change in character with the vampire..." Akito mumbled to himself.

"Did you say something?" Tsukasa and Rui said in unison

"Nothing.." Akito replied

"Also, Tsukasa-kun, we need to figure out what we will do from here on out." Rui said turning to Tsukasa.

"Yeah.. I brought a notebook and a pen so we can start writing everything down already." Tsukasa said taking out the notebook and the pens.

"Alright. We should go to that booth inthe corner, no?"

Tsukasa agreed and they went to the booth where they started to write

I was able to get the pages of the planning so here you go

If you didn't catch what they plan on doing, they escaped the castle to the hideout, and now plan on going to the lake where Tsukasa was on vacation at, they would stay there for about a day or two and then they would head on a 2 day walk to a bus stop, then take the bus which saves them a 1 day walk to a 16 hour bus drive (with stops) and reach the human city (Or Shibuya in actuality) . (Tsukasa drew that and Rui wrote the second page).

It's long, but hey, stuff might happen.

But here we are, two ga- guys... a plan and an adventure ahead of them.

And so, our story finally begins! After 5 chapters thank God...

"Mother! Rui wasn't in his room when I went to check this evening!" The pale green colored vampire said. It was Nene!

"He what?" Meiko asked dumbfounded.

"And our jester disappeared too." Nene said in a more quiet tone.

"Hm.. This is weird. Both our jester AND Rui are gone. I was always suspicious of that boy." Meiko said as she got up from her throne.

"Call Aoyagi over. And ask him to bring Shiraishi along." Meiko said with a serious tone heading to her office.

Nene nodded and sent a maid over to call both An and Toya.

"So, you may already know why the both of you are here." Meiko said staring sternly and directly at An.

"Shiraishi, do you have something to say for yourself?"

"Hold on, why are you blaming me?!" An asked confused.

"Because, last time something like this happened, you were involved."

"Sure, but that doesn't mean this time I am!"

"Shiraishi, I have the power to lock you in the dungeon until you die of something."

"... I can't tell you your majesty.."

"You will tell me. Or else."

An was already terrified she had the options of life or death. She couldn't risk it.

(For context, An is a vampire and the dungeon cells have like big ass windows for the vampire prisioners (iykyk))

"... fine... They ran away to my dad's hideout." An said holding herself back from stuttering as best as she could.

"And where is this hideout?" Meiko asked interested.

"The sewer entrance near the gardens..." An replied looking away in shame.

"Very well then. Aoyagi, you know what to do."

"Yes, your highness." Toya said bowing

And now those gays are fucked. I ain't censoring this time.

Chapter Text

Rui closed the diary and put it away where it was. He definitely needed to hide the face knew Tsukasa liked him so things wouldn't get... awkward...

But anyways, today was the day Rui and Tsukasa would set off to the lake house!

Since where were not entrances from the hideout near the lake, the closest they would get to the lake is a village named "The dawn village".

This is because vampire villages are named after times of the day. For some reason. 

I would show you readers the map they used to figure that out, but it got burnt during something I'll explain in a bit.

Yes, reduced to ashes.

But just read a bit more and you'll understand it.

Of course, Tsukasa and Rui were already preparing themselves with stuff they might need. And will need.

- Packets of Human blood. (For Rui)

- Food. (For Tsukasa) 

- Camping stuff (For the days they are walking to the bus stop (will grab on the Lake House))

- Water (Will refill on the lake house)

- Flashlights

That's it. Not much stuff but much stuff at the same time.

Anyways, let's go check on them.

"Tsukasa-kun, are you done packing?" Rui questioned as he started to pack up his blood packets.

"Not yet, I'll go grab myself some water for the first half of the adventure" Tsukasa said he left the room.

Rui continued packing up his stuff.

"Toya, I have no idea where they could be. But they are definitely not here" Akito said as he talked to... TOYA?! They were talking on the entrance of the hideout, Toya was accompanied by at least 7 soldiers (A little much but I'm not one to judge).

"Shiraishi was the one informing us, Akito. And I know about our past together, but please, don't lie to me." Toya said firmly.

"So... you remember?!" Akito said excited (a little bit excited)

"Yes. We can talk more on the matter later. But currently, I need to find Lord Kamishiro and Tenma." Toya said softening his tone.

That was when Tsukasa went to grab some water and he saw Toya on the entrance chatting with Akito.

But instead of walking away slowly and silently, Tsukasa ran away back to his room like an idiot that caused the bells in his outfit to jingle.

Akito turned around just stared at Tsukasa with a look of "are you an fucking idiot?" And Toya saw him.

"Tenma." Toya said as he walked past Akito to try and catch up with Tsukasa. But Tsukasa locked himself up in his room before Toya could reach him.

"Bad news" Tsukasa said locking the door of their room and looking at Rui worried.

"Hm? What is it?" The purple one of the two asked.

"They found out where we are and we have NO way of escaping."

"Are you serious? Oh no... okay, uhm..." Rui said looking around the room.

That is when Rui's machinery talent comes in handy, he had tried to build bombs before, but never tried them.

"Tsukasa-kun. I know how to get us out of here. But you'll need to trust me on this."

"A- Alright..." Tsukasa said half unsure and half sure.

Rui then grabbed a few of his... platypus shapped bombs..? And placed them on the ground.

"What are those" Tsukasa asked almost activating one.

"Bomb- WAIT DONT TOUCH THEM." Rui yelled and Tsukasa flinched back.

"BOMBS???"

"Yes. But trust me on it OK?? " Rui said finishing placing them.

Then Rui grabbed Tsukasa's hand and dragged him out the room.

All Tsukasa could think about was: "HE IS HOLDING MY HAND???" And yes. He was having a gay panic. Goddammit now that I think about it. Those two are IDIOTS. BIG ONES AT THAT.

(Its 3 am send help)

OK back to the story.

Rui and Tsukasa rushed out the room to find Toya and the soldiers waiting for them so they could catch them.

"Tenma, you are under arrest for running away and ignoring your sentence and dragging Lord Kamishiro along." Toya said as he was about to grab Tsukasa.

"Tsukasa-kun!" Rui said as he snatched Tsukasa away and grabbed the remote for the bombs from his pocket. And...

*KABOOOOMMMMMM*

The bedroom exploded and the fire was starting to spread into the establishment. Oh dear.

Rui then remembered that he had forgotten the map inside the bedroom and he went inside to get it.

That was when Tsukasa grabbed his arm and started to drag him away.

"Cmon! We don't have time for that stuff!" Tsukasa said as they ran away.

But that's when they realized they had no idea where to go, because the map got incinerated.

And that is a BIIIGGGGG problem.

When Tsukasa and Rui escaped the burning hideout, they had to think fast. Either they went left, right, center or other center path. Since they had come from the left, they should take the right to the dawn village, right.?

That seemed reasonable enough.

So they started to run in that path.

"You know?! I wasn't planning on blowing up something today! Fufu~ but it was sort of refreshing for some reason." Rui said. Ew squiggly line after fufu...

"Don't you mean hot?" Tsukasa said. That phrase can result in two reactions:

Exibith A: "So you're saying that was hot to do?"

Exibith B: "I didn't mean it in the literal way..."

Of course Rui went with exibith B. Because c'mon guys... Tsukasa may be 19 and Rui 170, but I'm veryyyyyy family friendlyyyyy..

"Yeah, yeah. Now cmon! If we get to the dawn village we can refill on supplies there." Tsukasa said still running.

And so they went their way.

"Ma'am, I'm sorry. They got away." Toya said bowing to Meiko as his clothes smelled like smoke.

"I see... we'll have to use more drastic measures." Meiko said grabbing a scroll from the shelf behind her.

The scroll was written in an ancient language. And I don't remember where I left it. But I'll show it next chapter if I find it.

And so. A small arc ends. Aka: "the start" and now we are headed straight for a new one!

Chapter Text

I was able to find the scroll, so I made a translated version of it.

(I DIDNT HAVE IDEAS FOR THE SPELL OKAY?)

"Your highness, here is the blood you requested." A familiar blonde girl (that is usually compared to hamsters) said handing Meiko the requested blood.

"Thank you, Azusawa." Meiko said as she put the blood in the glass

Meiko grabbed one of Rui's extra monocles he left at the castle and placed it on the glass

And now, to summon the all seeing eye...

The human and the vampire left the tunnel and they were in the middle of some forest. 

"This... doesn't look like the dawn village?" Tsukasa said as he looked around.

"Yes. It seems that we got out in the East forest exit. Because of that tree with the E carved on it" Rui said pointing to the tree with an E carved on it.

"Is it too far from dawn village?" Tsukasa asked.

"From what I can recall, it isn't. So we can just continue walking right until we reach the village." Rui said as he put on his backpack.

"Then let's go. We don't have much time until sunrise." Tsukasa said worried.

And they set their path to the dawn village. What they didn't know, they were being watched. Not by the all seeing eye yet, but something or someone else.

Akito was looking at the hideout after the fire went out in shock. This place that had been a safe place for many is now destroyed.

But, at the very least, he found the one he wanted to find.

Aoyagi Toya.

He knew where Toya was. And maybe, just maybe, he could remind Toya of their past together. 

*Flashback*

Akito and Toya are 14. Both are human (still).

They loved performing their music in live houses, and being eachothers partner.

However, one day, Toya's father found out about it. He was livid. His son had betrayed him and he needed to separate those two in some way.

So, he forced Toya to do what he was avoiding all this time. Become a vampire. Now, Toya couldn't speak to Akito anymore and was forced to become the general of the vampire army. 

But, Toya's knew his son wouldn't comply, so, he just... erased all of Toya's memories about Akito. And now that Toya saw Akito once more, he was slowly regaining them. But in a wrong way.

Toya saw Akito as an enemy, and not the guy he used to be partners with.

*End of flashback*

Akito was going to bring back his partner, even if it costed him his sanity, his physical strength, his life...

He just couldn't bare loosing such an important part of his life because of some old man who was too traditional.

He was getting Toya back.

He just needed time.

The vampire human combo Mc Donald's meal was heading to dawn village. 

They were silent. 

1- Because they didn't have much to talk about

2- because Rui was a bit awkward now that he knew about Tsukasa's feelings.

So it was a bit awkward. But not for long!

Suddenly, an arrow came flying at them, almost hitting Tsukasa by an inch.

"AAHHH!" Tsukasa yelled seeing the arrow and turning around.

Rui turned around with him and they both saw a girl, with long purple hair tied in a ponytail, staring at them intently.

A bow and arrow in her hand. Her eyes looked dull.

"What are you both doing here." She asked coldly.

"W- We... uhh.. are trying to reach dawn village." Tsukasa said nervously. She was terrifying.

"Well. I need to stop you. Dawn village is a village that is closed off from outsiders. People can only get in and out with a pass." The girl said.

"Pass?" Rui asked.

"Yes. Only people from the village have it. Since you guys aren't dangerous. I could help you... Follow me" the girl said in a dull tone

Tsukasa then approached Rui and whispered

"Should we follow her?"

"She looks scary... but I'll give it a shot. Besides, if she tries anything, she will face the consequences." Rui replied.

Tsukasa nods and they agree to follow the girl.

"So, that's where they are headed... Aoyagi. You know what to do." Meiko said turning to Toya.

"Yes, your highness." Toya said.

"Don't mess it up this time." Meiko said.

Toya nodded and bowed as he left Meiko's office.

"Aoyagi-kun! Can I talk to you?" Kohane said approaching Toya.

"Go on, Azusawa. Just don't take long." Toya said.

"Something is off about you... did you... remember about Akito?"

"..."

"You did, didn't you..."

"...yes..."

"What do you remember about him?"

Tsukasa and Rui arrived at a house after following the girl.

She opened the door and they saw various potions and ingredients and even a caldruon in the middle of the room.

A pale girl with what seemed to be a witch outfit showed up

"Hm? Mafuyu, who are they?" The pale girl asked.

"They are travellers trying to get into dawn village. I thought I'd bring them here since Ena knows how to forge passes." Mafuyu said.

"I see..." Kanade turned to the yellow-purple traveller combo and said.

"It's nice to meet both of you. My name is Yoisaki Kanade." The pale girl said.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Yoisaki-san. I'm Kamishiro Rui. And this is my friend, Tenma Tsukasa." Rui said gesturing to Tsukasa.

"It's nice to meet both of you. However.. about the passes... we won't be able to get them." Kanade said.

"Hm? Is there a problem?" Tsukasa asked.

"Yes... I sent Ena out to get some ingredients... but she hasn't come back since." Kanade answered.

"So that's why, Tenma, Kamishiro. I'd like to ask for your help. In return, Ena will make your passes, and Mafuyu told me you both were travellers, correct?" Kanade asked.

Tsukasa and Rui nodded.

"I can make Kamishiro a potion so he can walk in the sunlight without getting burnt to death" Kanade added.

"Rui, should we do it?" Tsukasa asked.

"It's a nice offer... indeed. What do you say, Tsukasa-kun." Rui replied.

Tsukasa nodded and turned back to Kanade.

"We'll help you get your friend back, Yoisaki!" Tsukasa said.

Chapter Text

They gathered around a table, Kanade, Rui, Tsukasa and Mafuyu.

"So, do you have any ideas on where Ena could be?" Tsukasa asked.

"I asked her to get ingredients near the Akiyama manor..." Kanade replied.

"The... Akiyama manor?... This is bad..." Rui muttered.

"Akiyama... isn't that Mizuki's family?" Tsukasa asked looking at Rui.

"Exactly. If they're find me, I'm done for." Rui said sighing.

"But... what if they don't see you?" Mafuyu said.

"Huh...?" Rui looked at Mafuyu confused. Can't blame him, what did she mean..?

"What if instead of you, Me and Tenma-san went?"

"Asahina-san... I can't ask that of you, like Kanade said, for her to give us the potion, it needs to be me and Tsu.... wait! Yoisaki! Can it be me, Asahina and Tsukasa-kun?" Rui asked.

"I mean... Depends? What do you plan on doing, Kamishiro-san?" Kanade said.

Rui grabbed his backpack and took out some robot components.

"This..!" Rui said.

"Robot components...? What do you plan on doing with those?" Mafuyu asked.

"Exactly. You'll see soon enough.." Rui said with that usual cat-like grin.

"What are you gonna do, Rui..." Tsukasa said nervous

"Paitience, Tsukasa-kun... it'll all make sense soon." Rui said with a mischevious cat like grin.

Rui went to the guest room and locked himself up...

What was he up to this time....?

A few hours later....

"Rui? Are you still awake?" Tsukasa asked coming to check in on Rui.

He had fallen asleep... it was a long day after all. 

Tsukasa noticed a blue print on the table, and a small robot being built that was on Rui's hand.

He didn't even finish it... He was just that tired.

Tsukasa decided to be a good friend and not wake him up

Instead, thanks to his star training, he was able to carry Rui to the bed.

Rui is very light. Very...

He placed him on the bed and tucked him in.

No homo. I promise.

Tsukasa then put Rui's stuff organized so that when he woke up, he would find everything he needed.

Tsukasa then got ready for bed and went to sleep.

No one bed situation again, sorry

"Tsukasa-kun! I've finished it I finished my robot!" Rui said excitedly

"Mmmmmm... Robot...??? Rui what are you--" Tsukasa said sitting up to find a tiny chibi Rui robot running around the room.

"I call it the robo Rui! Isn't it cool?" Rui said like a kid that just received their most wanted Christmas present.

"It's... cute? It's a tiny version of you, soo... it's kinda cute." Tsukasa said watching the mini Rui run around the room.

"Thank you! Although, I need to ask you something... I remember I slept on the table, why did I wake up on my bed?" Rui asked.

Tsukasa was busted. 

"U- Uh... no! You slept on the bed! I came in and you were plopped down on the bed and you weren't tucked in properly.. so I tucked you in. Maybe that's what made it feel different from when you slept?" Tsukasa suggested

"I guess... Anyways, I should show Yoisaki my invention." Rui said getting up from the desk and leaving the room.

Tsukasa sighed. He was almost caught! He had carried his friend princess style to the bed and tucked him in like a child!

No "no homo" allegations can save him now...

Honestly...

A few hours later...

Mafuyu was finishing to pack her bag and Rui and Tsukasa talked at the door of the house.

"Alright, I'm ready." Mafuyu said putting on the back pack and heading out the door.

Tsukasa then said.

"We should have a cool name for our team! Like Pegasus or wonderland!" 

"A team name? Really?" Mafuyu asked.

"Yeah!"

"... OWN. That's our team name."

"But-!" 

"No buts." 

"Fine."

Rui chuckled seeing the interaction.

They walked. Tsukasa and Rui stayed silent because of pure fear of Mafuyu... such a stoic and cold girl...

When they reached the Akiyama manor, Tsukasa, Rui and Mafuyu gathered around.

"Alright, we find Ena, we get out and leave with her." Mafuyu said.

"Yes.. Asahina-san, Where should I hide?" Rui asked.

"You can stay here. Me and Tenma are going first." Mafuyu replied.

Rui nodded and Tsukasa spoke up

"I already have the robo Rui ready." 

"Perfect. Now let's go." Mafuyu said.

Mafuyu and Tsukasa left the bushes and they were about to jump over the manor's fence, when a guard noticed them.

"Hey! Stop right there!" The guard said as Tsukasa and Mafuyu's heads snapped towards him.

Uh oh....

"It's all your fault."

"HOW CAN IT BE MY FAULT?!"

"You were talking too loudly."

"NO I WAS NOT!"

"Yes. You were."

"I WASNT---!"

Tsukasa and Mafuyu were bickering over the fact the guard caught them and locked them up. Of couuuurrrrseeeee.....

Mini robo Rui turned on suddenly.

"Can you both stop bickering? Listen, we need to get out of here. Tsukasa, put me down!"

IT CAN TALK?! That ingenious Rui!

"R- Rui! Did you add something to the robot so it can TALK?!" Tsukasa said putting robo Rui down.

"Listen, I can get us out of here, but I need Tsukasa and Asahina to distract that guard over there." The robo Rui said pointing to the guard behind him.

Tsukasa and Mafuyu nodded and continued bickering and causing a scene.

"Because of you, we can't save Ena anymore."

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT?!"

"You know damn well what I mean."

"YOU--!"

The guard came over to them PISSED.

"Hey, you two stop bickering or I will suck every drop of blood within you two!"

Meanwhile, robo Rui slipped out the cell and climbed the guards pants...

Got it! The key to saving Ena!

Tsukasa and Mafuyu apologized to the guard and as soon as the guard turned away, robo Rui climbed up the bars of the cell and he unlocked the door.

"Shhh... stay silent and thank me later. Cmon!" Robo Rui whispered.

Tsukasa and Mafuyu slipped out to the manor's halls and they started to make their way to try and find Ena.

Meanwhile with Ena....

"Ena~ pleaseeee"

"Mizuki... I won't draw you unless you UNSHACKLE ME!!"

"But I can't let you escape like Tsukasa-senpai and not draw meeee~!!!"

"I wouldn't be able to escape even if I wanted too. I'll draw you if you unshackle me..."

"Promisee??"

"Promise."

Back to the story.

Ena grabbed the canvas near her and the art supplies provided by Mizuki and began drawing.

"You know, you would look a lot better with a red bow instead of that black one on your ponytail." Ena commented.

"You think?!" Mizuki asked surprised.

"Yeah. Do you have one by chance?" Ena asked.

"I have a few! Hehe~ let's pick one out!"

Mizuki went to their drawer and grabbed a box filled to the brim with bows, red bows, pink bows, blue bows, you named it, they had it.

With the rescue team...

Our favorite jester and his companions were going in every room to check if Ena was there.

Which alarmed some guards.. which robo Rui distracted thankfully, but it alarmed even more guards which got them in a.. tricky situation..

"You cover the left I cover the right." Mafuyu said taking out her bow.

"I don't even know how to fight!?" Tsukasa protested.

"Take this sword and wing it." Mafuyu said handing him a sword.

"W-W-WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THIS?!" Tsukasa freaked out as he took the sword.

"Wing. It." Mafuyu said as she started to fight off some of the guards.

And thats exactly what Tsukasa did, he joined the fight while robo Rui went out to find Ena.

For a first time, Tsukasa was doing well...

That's expected of Tsukasa-kun~ he is a star after all, my star at le--

SHUT THE FUCK UP [REDACTED 3]!

But [REDACTED]! I was just telling the truth...

You are just praising him now let me continue on with the story!!

Back to the story.

"Not bad for a first timer." Mafuyu said as she shot down a few guards from their feet.

"Thanks, I guess.." Tsukasa said as he took down a few more guards.

"Rui! Go find Shinonome!" Tsukasa yelled as some guards tried tackling him.

The robo Rui slipped away and started to check every room possible.

"A-ha! I found a bow that fits you!" Ena exclaimed showing the bow she found.

It was a small bow that looked like bunny ears for some reason.

"Ah! I knew you would find something, Ena! Thank you~" Mizuki exclaimed and thanked Ena.

They put on the bow and it honestly did look very nice!

"You're welcome, now hurry up and pose for me! I want to finish this quick." Ena said hurrying to behind the canvas.

Mizuki sat down on the bed again and posed for Ena.

"Now hold still.... huh?!" Ena turned around because she had hear tiny footsteps and mechanical noises.

"What was that...?"

"Ignore it! I shouldn't be anything important." Mizuki assumed.

Ena sighed

"You're right...."

And so, Ena began to draw.

Mafuyu and Tsukasa finished fighting ans sat down next to a pillar to catch some breath.

"Water?" Tsukasa offered.

"Sure..." Mafuyu said taking the bottle and drinking some.

"Not bad for a first timer, Eh?" Tsukasa said.

"Could use a lot of improvement, but sure. Whatever makes you sleep at night..." Mafuyu said handing him back his bottle.

"Hey! I'm a star after all! So this is natural for the situation!" Tsukasa said.

Little robotic footsteps could be heard nearby.

"Guys, I found Ena. She is drawing Mizuki." Robo Rui said.

"She is... drawing someone?" Mafuyu questioned.

"Yes. Now hurry up. We need to get out of here ASAP." Rui added as he started to walk to where Ena was.

Tsukasa and Mafuyu got up and followed him in silence to not attract anymore guards.

"Ena!~ stop holding me down!!" Mizuki whined and complained.

"Hold still then!" Ena said.

Then, out of the blue, Ena noticed a picture Mizuki had of a younger boy with similar features to Mizuki.

"Hm? Do you have a brother?" Ena said walking to the picture and grabbing it.

"Uh... its more complicated then that...." Mizuki said.

"Then will you---" Ena was interrupted by someone slamming the door open.

"SHINONOME! WE CAME TO--" Tsukasa yelled and shut up in confusion.

He thought Ena was being forced to draw, but no, Mizuki was being held down and Ena had a strange picture in her hand.

What was going on here....

First Tsukasa suddenly knows how to fight, now Ena is holding down someone??? Wow. 

Also Ena might need some answers on the mysterious pink boy from the picture

A few years back.

A knock, a vampire boy sat in a room filled with pink. Just how he liked it, cute things and bows everywhere.

"Mizuki! I got you a new bow!" It was Mizuki's sister, Akiko.

"Hm? Ah, thank you, Akiko.." Mizuki said looking at the bow.

Mizuki looked like they were in deep thought.

For context, 10 years ago, noble vampire families could only have one child. The other one had to be killed or they just didn't have it.

The Akiyama's didn't have the heart to do that, so they hid Mizuki away.

But Akiko moved away so they needed a new heir of the Akiyama bloodline.

This happened the day Akiko moved away.

"You look deep in thought, Mizuki." Akiko pointed out.

"It's nothing... it's just... what if I.. don't like being.. a boy?" Mizuki muttered.

"Wait... are you saying..?" Akiko replied.

Mizuki nodded. They wanted to be girl. They felt like a girl.

They were a girl.

"Mizuki..." Akiko hugged them. "I knew it. I'm glad you found yourself."

Mizuki started to sob. They didn't know if their parents would accept them. But it was fine, their sister accepted them.

Just the way they were...

"So that's the truth." Mizuki admitted.

"Y- You're trans?" Ena asked.

"That's very brave for you to admit, Mizuki." Rui said.

"Yeah! And that's actually really cool!" Tsukasa said.

"Mhm. What they said." Mafuyu added.

"You guysss~! Thank you for being so supportive!! I can't believe it!" Mizuki said happily.

Ena then turned to the others.

"Can I finish this drawing before we go?" Ena asked. It was almost done anyways.

The group agreed.

Correction: it wasn't. We waited there for about 5 hours.

Can you blame me? I'm just that hard to draw!~

Please let me narrate the story....

Back to the story.

"Now stand still, let me draw you."

Mizuki nodded and posed.

During that time, Mafuyu, Tsukasa and Mini Rui were sharing stories.

"Can you guys believe I once had a centipied in my hair!? It was terrifying..." Tsukasa started.

"It was just a bug..." Mafuyu shot back.

"But it had so many leeeggggsssss~~~~" Tsukasa complained.

"You're just dramatic." Mafuyu said.

"SHUT UP!!" Tsukasa yelled back.

"Then you wouldn't believe what I ate once." Mafuyu said.

"W-What did you e-eat?" Tsukasa asked in fear

"You don't wanna know." Mafuyu said.

After a few hours, Ena finished drawing and Mizuki thanked Ena for the drawing and they said.

"I'll meet you guys again!"

"I'll be waiting for you!" Ena said.

And so, mission complete! Ena was safe and sound, the group was alive and they didn't found out about Rui being there! Just the mini robo Rui. But that isn't important.

But this part of the chapter isn't about Rui. A certain person also wanted to escape.

A familiar girl. Nene.

She was tired. She didn't like how the royalty shouldn't sing, shouldn't do plays, shouldn't do this, shouldn't do that,

It was just irritating.

She overheard Meiko's conversation with Aoyagi Toya.

She knew where to find them.

The day she escaped, she accidentally bumped into a pink hyperactive girl.

Ootori Emu.

"HWAH! SORRY MISS! SORRY MISS!" Emu apologized to Nene when she bumped into her.

"Huh?! A human?!" Nene exclaimed in shock.

"I need to save my friend! Tsukasa! Can you help me?!" Emu asked desperately.

"Tenma..? Oh gosh.... I'll explain to you on the way... but come with me, please." Nene said.

"B-But miss! His sister is super duper extra worried!" Emu said.

"I said, I'll explain on the way. Please, if you want to live, follow me." Nene insisted.

"A-Alright miss!" Emu said.

"We're home" Mafuyu said opening the door for Tsukasa, Rui and Ena to come in.

"Ah! Ena! I'm glad you're back okay.." Kanade exclaimed.

"Thank you, Kamishiro and Tenma. Here is your potion, as promised." Kanade said handing him a bottle with yellow and blue liquid.

"Thank you, Yoisaki-san. This will help us, a lot." Rui said taking the bottle.

"The effects should last a month. If you would like, I can give you the recipe. It isn't too hard." Kanade said.

Ena and Tsukasa had slumped into the couch already. Mafuyu was sitting like a normal person.

"Ah, I'd really appreciate it, Yoisaki-san." Rui said.

Rui and Kanade went to the kitchen for a potion class.

"So, you guys want forged passes to dawn village, huh?" Ena said as she got up.

"Yes. We really need them." Tsukasa said.

"Alright then, follow me." Ena said going to her room with Tsukasa following right behind.

Mafuyu just kinda stayed there on the living room. Staring into the void.

"Again, thank you again, Yoisaki-san, Asahina-san, Shinonome-san." Rui said as he thanked

"Yes, we appreciate your hospitality." Tsukasa said.

"It's fine. Really, good luck on your trip!" Kanade said as Mafuyu and Ena waved from behind."

"Thank you, goodbye!" The two boys said at the same time somehow and they waved back. And so, they were off.

Back to the main quest at last.

"You could've told us about the voice function on your mini robo Rui." Tsukasa said.

"But what would be the fun in that?" Rui said.

"You're right..." Tsukasa mumbled sighing.

"But still, a warning would be nice...." Tsukasa complained.

"I'll tell you next time, Tsukasa-kun" Rui said.

"You know? Only one other person calls me 'tsukasa-kun'" Tsukasa commented.

"Oh? Who are they?" Rui asked. They wanted to know who was this person stealing Rui's way of calling Tsukasa.

"A friend of mine, Emu. She is... something.." Tsukasa commented.

"Hm. How nice... I want to meet them some day..." Rui replied.

"You both would make good friends... Trust me." Tsukasa said.

"Now that makes me even more excited to meet them." Rui commented.

Tsukasa chuckled and continued to walk.

The vampire and the human walked...

                                                       And walked....

Until they finally reached dawn village.

They showed their passes and got in.

But they were stopped... By a flying pink missile.

"TSUKASA-KUUUUUNNNNN!" it said in a very high pitched voice.

Was that....

EMU?!?

And she was accompanied by someone. Was that...? Nene?

"E-EMU?! NENE?!" Tsukasa yelled in shock as the pink missile hit him and hugged him tight.

"I WAS SOOOOO WORRRIIEEEDDDD!! YOURE STILL ALIVE! SAKI-CHAN WILL BE SOOOOOO SUPER DUPER HAPPY!" Emu said.

"Nene... why are you here? Don't tell me you are here to take me back to the castle...?" Rui asked nervous.

"No.. you were right. I wasn't really happy in the castle. I ran away and I met with Emu on the way." Nene admitted.

"I see..." Rui said.

Rui got closer to Nene and whispered in her ear.

"Is Emu reaaalllyyyyy close to Tsukasa? Or just a friend...?" Rui asked.

"Just a friend, don't worry you homo..." Nene whispered back.

Rui gave Nene a small slap on the back of her neck.

"WHAT WAS THAT FOR???" Nene asked

"You know what that was for." Rui replied.

"But I'm not ly--" Nene tried to complain but was shushed by Rui putting a hand in front of her mouth.

"Oh, that reminds me that me and Tsukasa haven't eaten in a while." Rui said.

"True... I am kinda hungry."  Tsukasa complained.

"Oh! I found this bakery that had realllyyy tasty looking pies! " Emu remarked.

"Then, lead the way, Otori-kun." Rui said.

"Please! Just call me Emu!" Emu said.

"Alright then, Emu-kun." Rui corrected himself.

Emu started dragging Rui away and Nene and Tsukasa just followed them.

Boy was this going to be a long journey...

"I've spotted them, your highness." The dual colored boy said to the portal opened to him, showing Meiko herself on her office.

"Good. If you find Nene, bring her back too." Meiko said closing the portal.

"Already found her... I'll let them calm down so I can attack them without them suspecting a thing." Toya said to himself.

A familiar voice arrose from behind.

"Toya! Thank goodness you're here!" Akito said rushing to him.

"Akito. What are you doing here after what you've done?" Toya asked turning around to face Akito 

"What....? Toya what are you going on about?!" Akito asked confused and surprised.

"You know what I'm talking about. Or do you just have amnesia?" Toya asked coldly.

"Toya, explain!" Akito yelled.

"You killed my father and brainwashed me to hide that?! How can you just forget that?!" Toya yelled.

"I... what?" Akito stepped back, confused.

"Don't act stupid. You know damn well what I'm talking about. Now excuse me." Toya said as he jumped down from where he was and started to slowly make his way to the traveling group.

"WAIT! TOYA!" Akito yelled.

What did Toya mean by that?! What was going on...

Killed his father...? What..

Were Toya's memories being toyed with?

Akito had to find out. He couldn't let his friend, his partner, his "everything" when he was 14 hate him because some grumpy old man couldn't understand his son's feelings and likes.

Akito was going to bring back Toya, rather his father liked it or not.

"Here is the tomato juice pie, the apple pie, and the pig blood pie." A brunette girl with blue eyes said handing the pies to the traveling group.

I think you can already guess which pie was for who. But incase you couldn't, Apple pie was going to be shared between Tsukasa and Emu, tomato juice pie for Nene and pig blood pie for Rui.

Rui can't eat anything other then blood. He throws up if he does.

"Thank you." Rui said as they got ready to eat.

Nene was deep in thought. Tsukasa and Rui had explained what happened while they were alone.

"So, you both exploded Shiraishi's dad hideout. Beat up a ton of guards on Akiyama manor, built a mini robot version of Rui and found out the Akiyama's biggest secret??"  Nene asked 

"Yeah, that's pretty much it." Tsukasa replied.

 "That must have been super cool!" Emu said with her mouth full of apple pie.

"Eat before you speak. Don't talk while eating." Tsukasa shot at her.

Emu shrugged and continued eating.

"It was quite the adventure, indeed." Rui said.

"I wish I was there...." Emu whined.

"You really didn't..." Tsukasa said sighing.

"But it must've been so fun!" Emu complained.

"Sure, beating a bunch of guards asses was really fun.. but still" Tsukasa replied.

"Language, Tsukasa-kun. We're at the table right now." Rui corrected.

"I know.." Tsukasa complained as he continued eating.

After that it was just a small awkward silence as they ate.

There wasn't much to catch up since it had only been a few days. But still.

"Ah, that's right. Well be spending a night or two here in the village then we are going to a lake house my family owns. The one near the vampire lake border." Tsukasa commented.

"Your family owns that thing? And I thought it was abandoned." Nene said.

"We only use it during the summer, since summer is ending, I figured we wouldn't use it anymore for the year, and left on a small adventure with Emu and Saki. Which got me in this situation." Tsukas explained.

"I see..." Nene said.

"Still, thanks for letting us stay there." Rui added.

"That was the plan all along, remember?" Tsukasa reminded.

"I know." Rui said. "I'm just thanking you because we'll be able to rest there." He added.

A loud noise came from the door, it was someone coming in.

"Tenma, Kamishiros. I've found you."

A familiar voice.. 

Toya.

Tsukasa and Rui were petrified. Nene looked at Toya in shock.

"How did you know we'd be here?" Nene asked nervously.

"The same way you found out about Tenma and Sir. Kamishiro being here." Toya replied.

Nene was busted.

"Nene-chan? Who is he?" Emu asked confused.

"Aoyagi Toya. The commander of the royal troops." Nene replied.

"We're not coming with you, Aoyagi." Tsukasa said getting up and looking at Toya dead in the eye.

Well, he wasn't going without a fight that is.

Chapter Text

A street that was bustling with people just a few minutes ago, is now empty.

Two people stand there, Tsukasa Tenma and Toya Aoyagi.

The other streets were filled with yells and the clashing of swords.

Nene and Rui were fighting off the back up Toya had on the streets surrounding them, while Emu helped civilians hide so they wouldn't get caught in the cross fire.

Tsukasa still had the sword Mafuyu gave to him when they were saving Ena.

Toya was getting ready to attack.

Silence...

                                                  Silence...                     

                                                                                          Silence...

                                                                                                                                              CLASH!

Toya and Tsukasa had begun to fight.

A punch here, a missed sword there..

It was brutal.

Nene and Rui were fighting the Royal troops back with all their might.

Hands were thrown and houses were burned on their side.

It was a blood bath.

Emu finished evacuating civilians and she started to ambush some of the guards.

In the distance, you could hear Toya and Tsukasa battling in silence.

Only sword noises from there, the rest was just 

Pure silence...

Tsukasa was not a skilled fighter, unlike Toya. But he was able to hold Toya off.

Meanwhile, far away from there... in the human city....

"Saki... it's been weeks. I'm not sure if your brother will come back..." A Grey haired individual said.

"He has to come back! I even asked Emu-chan to look for him!" Saki sobbed.

"Calm down... I'm sure he'll come back, right Shiho?" A black haired girl said while hugging Saki.

Shiho stayed silent..

Shiho knew how much the truth would hurt if it turned out that Saki's brother, Tsukasa wouldn't come back.

Because she knew how much it hurt to loose an older sibling.

She lost her older sister, Shizuku to the world of the vampires as well.

It was devastating to say the least. But it is what it is.

But, she knew Tsukasa wouldn't have given up so quickly. 

Tsukasa wasn't that type of guy. He was a guy that if he set his mind to it, he would reach it.

They just could loose hope yet

However, deep inside, everyone knew...

Tsukasa was either dead or wouldn't come back .

It's just too hard to escape the vampire world.

BANG

               CLASH!

                                *METAL AND FIRE NOISES*

the fire had spread and it had reached Toya and Tsukasa.

The fire was all around them.

"Hah... You're good for an amateur" Toya said while wiping some blood of a cut on his cheek.

"Thanks.." Tsukasa said  out of breath.

"But this isn't over ye-" Toya said but was stopped. Tsukasa had cut Toya's arm.

It was a big cut. I was bleeding a lot.

Tsukasa stepped back, dodging Toya's attack.

They fought. 

Rui, Nene and Emu finished fighting off the back up and ran to where Tsukasa was.

"TSUKASA-KUUUUUNNNNN!!!! DO YOU NEED HELP?!" A high pitched voice yelled. Emu.

"I'm fine! Just a few scratches!" Tsukasa replied.

"We'll be here if you need us." Rui assured from afar.

Tsukasa looked at them and gave them his usual confident smile.

But, the next thing Tsukasa knew...

he had been stabbed in the stomach.

"A-" Tsukasa said as he fell to the ground.

"TSUKASA-KUN!!!" A familiar voice said approaching him. Rui.

Toya ran away from the scene as Tsukasa was bleeding on the ground weakly.

Someone started to grab Tsukasa and carry him bridal style.

"Ha... ....ere.... ..ease!" Is what Tsukasa could hear. His vision slowly fading out.

And becoming blurry...

And dark....

And Tsukasa was unconscious.

A dark place. 

Tsukasa woke up in a dark place.

Pure darkness all around.

A familiar voice spoke up in a energetic tone.

His voice.

"Hello there~!" It was a version of Tsukasa in his jester outfit with a mischevious look on his face.

"Wha..." Tsukasa said.

"I'm jesterkasa! You may be wondering what this place is. And ta-da! You are inside your head!" Jesterkasa said.

"What... am I doing here..?" Tsukasa asked.

"Simple! You were stabbed in the stomach and now you're unconscious! So I decided to have a chat with you." Jesterkasa said sitting on the void that was there.

"Chat?" Tsukasa asked.

"Yeah, because we need to talk about something important." Jesterkasa pointed at him and said.

"Your feelings for Rui are getting in the way. Get rid of them." Jesterkasa added.

Get... rid of his feelings for Rui...? Why....

"You know we are the same person and I can hear your thoughts, right?" Jesterkasa remarked.

"You can?!" Tsukasa asked in shock.

"Yup! So you can save your voice." The jester said as he approached Tsukasa and clingged to his back like a leech.

"You don't really love Rui, do you? Or are you just using him to escape the vampire world alive?" Jesterkasa whispered in his ear.

Tsukasa looked in shock at the jester. Him not really loving Rui?! Absurd.

"But Tsukasa... it's true. I know your most deep and inner thoughts." Jesterkasa said unclinging from him and standing in front of him and putting both his hands on his shoulders.

"So admit it. Admit you don't really love Rui and you are just using him to escape. I want to hear you say it." The jester said gripping to Tsukasa's shoulders.

"No! I love Rui! I love him very much!" Tsukasa yelled.

"No you don't! So admit it! Say it!" The jester said gripping on tighter to Tsukasa.

"I..."

"Tsukasa-kun." 

It was Rui's voice, and it was coming from behind him.

Tsukasa turned around and saw Rui. They were now in a field of black and white lilies. The sky was a peachy pink and Rui was looking at Tsukasa worried. 

But it wasn't like a regular worried face. It was that one face he did on the curtain call event.

The one from the card, yeah that one.

Tsukasa's whole surroundings changed into that scenery.

"Tsukasa-kun, please."

"wake up." 

The Rui said as he faded out and everything started to fade out into white...

And with that, Tsukasa woke up on a bed.

Rui was sitting on the edge of it. Looking at him worriedly.

"Tsukasa-kun! You're awake" Rui said in relief.

"I was so worried! You were out for 2 days!" Rui said almost hugging Tsukasa.

Wait... TWO DAYS?!?!

"So, Yoisaki-San came here because she saw the smoke and she got worried, so she came and saw you almost dead and used her magic to save you." Rui said as he grabbed a chair to sit beside Tsukasa.

"Also, Emu-kun and Nene became closer these past few days. And only the east and north part of dawn village is not burnt to a crisp" Rui added.

"So, all of that happened, in two days?" Tsukasa asked confused.

"Yes. I was here waiting for you to wake up and taking care of you, like switching your bandages, applying medicine... that stuff" Rui said.

"I see... thank you, Rui." Tsukasa thanked.

But there was something occupying his mind.

Did he love Rui? Was the jester correct?

It was bothering him so much, it wasn't even funny anymore.

Just think about it, imagine if a version of you that looks like a jester and acts like one and is just you but as a jester, comes up to you, and tells you that you aren't in love with the person you've been in love with for weeks!

That is just insane! Of course Tsukasa was going bonkers over it. I would too in his situation!

Tsukasa needed to talk to the jester again. He needed too. He needs to figure out how though.

"Anyways, do you need anything?" Rui asked putting a hand on Tsukasa's shoulder.

"Uh.. no. I'm alright." Tsukasa replied.

"Okay... I'll need to go out to get the stuff we planned on getting when we arrived. I'll try not to take long." Rui said getting up.

"If you need anything, Yoisaki-san is downstairs." Rui said as he grabbed a bag, and walked to the door.

"Alright, stay safe." Tsukasa said.

" I will." Rui replied. He turned to Tsukasa and mumbled: "I love you" under his breath. Very quietly so Tsukasa wouldn't hear him though.

Rui turned and left the room, closing the door.

And then, Tsukasa grabbed his beloved travel diary that was located on his bedside table.

He couldn't even draw him. He just felt THAT sick drawing him. Just seeing a perfect carbon copy of himself with a goofy jester outfit and a maniac smile made him absolutely sick to the stomach. That thing was not him. It couldn't be him. It was too sadistic to be him.

Tsukasa closed his diary and put it back where it was. He took a deep breath and went to sleep, again.

"There you are!! I misses you!" The jester said rushing to hug Tsukasa.

"No. I have questions." Tsukasa said pushing away the hug.

"Questions? What questions could you possibly have?" The jester asked in a mocking tone.

That sick sadistic smile remained.

"Why do you exist? What created you?"

The jester looked at him dropping the sadistic smile.

"I-"

"Just spit it out. You aren't me. There isn't way you could be me." Tsukasa said with a determined and cold looking his face.

"You really want to know, don't you?" The jester asked looking at him with a more sad smile.

"Then alright... let's take a trip down memory road, shall we?" The jester asked.

"Be it." Tsukasa deadpanned.

"Hm... he is sleeping..."  The green girl said.

"Aw... I was gonna give him the drawing!" The missile complained.

"We'll come to check on him in a bit. While that, we should check what Kanade is cooking..." Nene said.

"You're right! Let's go--" Emu said then looked at Tsukasa.

"Something is wrong with Tsukasa-kun..." Emu said approaching Tsukasa.

"What?" Nene asked confused.

"Yeah.. its like something is hurting Tsukasa's brain..." Enu said in a more sad tone.

"hurting his brain..?" Nene asked confused.

"Yeah! Like Tsukasa-kun was being hurt by someone!" Emu said sitting next to him.

"Go check on Kanade-chan! I'll stay here with him" Emu said with a determined tone.

"Alright..." Nene nodded leaving Emu in the room alone.

Emu was concerned. She knew something was bothering Tsukasa while he slept and she needed to know what it was.

It would just take time....

"I'm alone again.... No worries! A star like me would never feel lonely!" A kid's voice said.

It was Tsukasa. Kid Tsukasa to be exact.

"I'll go visit Saki soon anyways!" 

"I'll put on the best play for her! I'm the best big brother ever, aren't I?!" 

The kid Tsukasa said with his smile faltering.

And then a new flashback began. This time with a middle school Tsukasa.

He was home playing his piano. Tsukasa remembered that day so well.

It was a Friday. Tsukasa had come back from theater practice. He was holding back tears. 

"You can't become a star."

"You don't have what it takes."

"You  need to step up your game if you want to participate in this play."

Those words he heard were echoing in his head. He felt worthless.

Our Tsukasa looked again and saw himself of 2 years back. When he was still in high school.

He was watching a play. The play that inspired him to become a star in the first place.

He was crying. He couldn't reach those stars on stage. Yet... he wanted to do it so much...

He watched the play to understand one of the characters he was trying to get the role for. 

"I'll never be a star. How could I possibly even consider it..?" Those words echoed through his head.

He had literally starved himself to "feel more like the character" that obviously didn't work...

Although he got the role later. The role had that bitter taste of "others are better then you. We just felt bad so we gave you the role". It was probably not true, but it felt like it so much...it hurt.

The flashback ended and the jester said.

"I was made out of your feelings. Your worthlessness feelings. The feelings that were holding back your true potential of becoming a star. I am you. I will live in your head until you die." The jester said approaching Tsukasa.

"S-STAY AWAY!" Tsukasa said stepping back in fear. 

"Until you give in and admit your true feelings. I'll be here and I'll haunt your dreams, everytime you do dream." The jester said laughing.

"NO-- I WONT GIVE IN!" Tsukasa yelled.

"You just proved those feelings are true by one phrase! Hehe...." The jester said and as he was about to grip Tsukasa's shoulders, Tsukasa pushed him to the ground.

The jester hit the ground and started to melt into the ground in the void. 

The scenery went back into that field of flowers from last time... was every dream going to be like that?!

The Rui just stood there in silence.

"Leave." He said.

With that. Tsukasa woke up to a very worried Emu above him.

"TSUKASA-KUN WOKE UP! YAAAYYYY!!" Emu said just hugging Tsukasa without asking.

While Tsukasa was being squeezed by Emu, he thought of something.

Was the jester gone now?

Chapter Text

It was dinner time now. Everyone was sitting at the table and Emu was helping Tsukasa walk downstairs. He couldn’t walk properly given his situation, which is honestly pathetic for a star like him. And of course, it didn’t help with the fact that Tsukasa had just witnessed the jester’s death. It was still weird how quickly he died, but… is he really dead? That’s a question for future Tsukasa to answer later.

But for now, he needed to rest. He got impaled in the stomach for heck’s sake!

At the table, Rui and Nene finished setting up the table for dinner. Kanade had to run some errands so she wouldn’t be able to join our traveling group for dinner this night.

When Tsukasa arrived, Rui looked at him with such relief, it was like Tsukasa had come back from the dead. 

“Tsukasa-kun!” Rui Said as he rushed to Tsukasa and hugged him.

“I was worried. You started sleeping again and you looked so tired that I was too worried to do some stuff!” Rui said letting him go 

“Rui wouldn’t stop worrying about you when we went out to buy the ingredients for dinner.” Nene deadpanned.

“But that’s not important right now. Cmon, let’s eat.” Rui said helping Tsukasa to sit down.

Tsukasa nodded and sat down. Emu sat down across him and Rui beside him.

As they started to eat, Tsukasa realized something. A question that isn’t about the jester. 

How the hell does Rui hunt humans sometimes, if he can’t bite humans or else they will turn into vampires??

“Rui. Can I ask you a question? Please, don’t be offended by it.” Tsukasa said as he began to eat.

“Hm? I won’t feel offended if it’s from you, Tsukasa-kun.” Rui Said brushing away some veggies that were on his plate onto Nene’s.

“If I remember correctly, you can’t bite humans because they’re turn into vampires. So how come you would go hunting for humans sometimes?” Tsukasa asked.

“Ah. Well, when we are running low on human blood, I use a retainer that makes it so my vampire transformation powers don’t affect my target. But it is hard because they make it so I become a messy drinker… But I assume I don’t have to do that anymore.” 

Rui answered as him and Nene were silently fighting over the vegetables. Rui putting them on Nene’s plate and Nene giving them back.

It was honestly pretty funny to see.

“Rui eat your goddamn vegetables.” Nene said.

“But they are not what a vampire should be eating!~” Rui whined. 

“Don’t you already have blood on your plate? Besides, they aren’t THAT bad..” Nene replied.

“They are vile!” Rui said with his fake sad acting face.

Tsukasa sighed. “I’ll eat them.”

“Tsukasa-kun! You would do that for me?!” Rui said with a surprised happy tone.

“Stop being so dramatic or I’ll shove veggies down your throat.” Nene replied.

“How hurtful!” Rui replied.

“Oh shut up. And Tsukasa, don’t you dare eat his vegetables.” Nene said.

“But doesn’t Tsukasa-kun need them? I mean he needs to heal…” Rui suggested.

“If he wants I’ll put more vegetables on his plate, but he is not eating yours.” Nene reply as she ate a carrot slice.

“Fine…” Rui sighed.

Emu was very quiet at that moment, which wasn’t like her at all, especially her!

“Emu? Is something wrong?” Tsukasa asked looking confused.

“Oh! Tsukasa-kun. Remember how we wanted to do shows when we were younger?” Emu asked.

“Oh, yes, why?” Tsukasa asked.

“I remember we never got enough people to join wonderlands x showtime—“ Emu said getting interrupted by Rui.

“You both wanted to do shows as well? I mean I knew of Tsukasa-kun, but not Emu-kun.” Rui Said.

“Yeah, Me and Rui also wanted to do shows when we were younger. We never got to do it though because of our status…” Nene said. “And because I was too shy.” She added.

Emu’s eyes lit up, like if she had stars in her eyes, her eyes would be a galaxy.

“REALLY?! OHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSH!! THATS SO SUPER COOOOLLLL!!” Emu exclaimed.

“But Rui, you guys don’t have that status anymore now, right? Then why don’t we do a show in what remains of dawn village?” Tsukasa suggested.

Rui and Nene looks at him confused.

“Wait, doing a show? But wouldn’t it be dangerous if they found out we were here?” Nene said a little panicked.

“True… But we can surely get some disguises, right?” Tsukasa asked.

“Depends, does anyone here know how to tailor?” Rui asked.

“I do. We can try finding some wigs too, maybe.” Tsukasa added.

“Perfect! Then we are doing a show, everyone!” Rui said.

“YAYAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY” Emu squealed.

And so with that, operation make an awesome show is on!

But anyways, yes, they did start making a show.

After dinner, they cleared out the table and started to write the story of the play in which they decided to do a love story.

An Alien that watched over all the universes to check if everyone that their respective soulmate in every universe even if it were different versions of them, until the alien felt lonely and found a universe where there wasn’t a version of himself for his soulmate and he decides to fill that gap.

(Foreshadowing to “Out of all the yous, I chose you” pls read it if you want it’s in my profile :3)

“Okay, we have our story, but what about who is going to play who?” Tsukasa asked.

“OH! OH! Tsukasa-kun should play the human and hm….” Emu pondered.

Nene then suggested.

“What if we put Rui as the alien?” 

Rui perked up at that idea.

“But aren’t I the director? Besides, I would be stealing a role of out diva, wouldn’t I?” Rui replied.

“But it would be perfect. Besides, I really don’t want to be a main character in this play and Emu already has 2 roles.” Nene replied.

Rui knew damn well what Nene was trying to do. And it was working.

“Then fine, since we don’t have any choice, I guess I’ll play the alien, Tsukasa the human and you and Emu get the secondary roles.” Rui said sighing.

Emu and Nene nodded.

Tsukasa was internally dying because he would be the romantic interest of the character his crush was playing. So yeah.

Now they needed to find a venue and start practicing.

Chapter Text

They found the ruins of a small stage on dawn village that if they clean up and clear it out, it's possible to be used for the play.

Tsukasa sew up the costumes, now for practice. Rui already has a plan of how practice should go so it doesn't get awkward.

Poor thing. He gave up. It's just physically impossible for it to not get awkward! He will need Nene's help.

And that's what Rui did. 

"Nene? Do you have a moment to spare for your brother?" He said in that one tone that people use when they need something but they don't wanna say it. If you know, you know.

"Hm? Something wrong?" Nene asked

"Yes. Do you uhh... know how to make practice not awkward...? Like for the scenes I have with Tsukasa and stuff..." Rui said sheepishly.

"Geez... just act natural no?" Nene asked.

"But that's too hard! It's the person I like for blood's sake!" Rui complained.

"I know. But that's how I practiced that scene that I am an old married couple with Emu." Nene said.

"Yeah bu- wait. You like Emu-kun? Like, LIKE LIKE  Emu-kun?! I never thought you would like someone as hyperactive as her." Rui commented.

"Shut it. I do, so what?" Nene deadpanned.

"Not judging... but that not the point. I'm not an actor Nene. I'm a director!" Rui added.

"You can imagine it's not Tsukasa?" Nene suggested.

"Hm... that could work..." Rui said.

"I'll try. Thanks Nene!" Rui said with the faded cat like grin coming back to his face.

On the other room, Tsukasa was having a breakdown. Why? The face of the jester that tormented him these past few days showed up in his mind again and the words that sick bastard said to Tsukasa kept repeating.

"You don't really love Rui, do you?"

"Say it"

"Admit it"

"Until you give into your true feelings, I'll haunt you"

"You just proved those feelings are true by one phrase!"

That phrase replayed in Tsukasa's and he started to feel dizzy. It was like he was going to-

...

Tsukasa rushed the bathroom and threw up. He felt so sick. That jester wouldn't leave him alone. Even though it's dead, the memory of the jester just keep replaying like a damaged DVD. And to make matters worse, he needed to practice, but he couldn't focus. This jester was driving him crazy! But if he told anyone, they would think he is going crazy.

Another flashback to the sickening maniac smile of the jester. That smile was disgusting. Repulsing. Vile. Every word that has that meaning that can describe what Tsukasa felt worked.

And then Rui's voice started calling out for him.

"Tsukasa-kun? It's time for practice!" Rui yelled from downstairs.

"Uh! Coming! Give me a minute!" Tsukasa said cleaning his mouth quickly and rushing downstairs.

When Tsukasa go downstairs, Rui had his script in hand and he was memorizing lines.

"Ah, Tsukasa-kun. You're here. We need to practice the final scene." Rui said.

"Oh! Right, right." Tsukasa said grabbing his script and taking a look.

"Ready?" Rui asked and Tsukasa nodded. And so they began to practice.

“Sora have you see— what are you doing?” Tsukasa asked.

“N-NOTHING!” Rui replied

“What.. is this..?” Tsukasa asked confused.

“Look… I’m in charge of seeing if every universe has its Sora and Katsuo together and going along the story line. You were the only Katsuo without a Sora so… I came here to fill in that gap.” Rui explained. So far, so good

“But.. I see a Katsuo here, another one there! Those don’t have a Sora!” Tsukasa Said.

“That’s true..” Rui Said.

“But, I wanted you. I chose you, I don’t want those Katsuos! They will get their Sora's when they are supposed to! But… I wanted you. Out of all the yous, I chose you. I love you, Hayami Katsuo.” Rui Said. It felt real, it was real. Those were Rui's real feelings.

And now, for the kiss. Tsukasa said the trigger phrase and...

KISS!

Rui and Tsukasa kissed. It was fake but it had the warmth and fuzziness of the real thing. Rui was holding himself back from blushing pretty well, Tsukasa, well... we'll check on him later.

When they pulled away, Rui held himself back from blushing and said:

"T-Thank you, Tsukasa-kun." Rui said.

"It's fine. I'll be going back to our room if you don't mind. I need to memorize more lines." Tsukasa said as he  headed back upstairs

"Alright. Don't push yourself!" Rui said as Tsukasa left.

As soon as Tsukasa left, Rui just let himself turn into a full blown tomato. Now he could blush without feeling embarrassed. 

"I kissed him.... oh gosh..." Rui said putting his hands on his own red cheeks.

But now let's check up on Tsukasa, shall we.

Tsukasa sat down on his bed and a tear streamed down his cheeks. Then another one, and another, and another.... until he started full blown sobbing. He curled up into a ball and just started sobbing his eyes out. Because, the thing, the person, the creature he hated the most, was correct. During that scene he was supposed to feel something! Yet... he didn't. So that just proves that the jester was right.

Tsukasa isn't in love with Rui. ..

Chapter Text

Tsukasa washed his face and looked at himself in the mirror. He felt empty, like a part of who he was just got carved out his chest and shredded into millions of pieces. He felt as of something was missing, he felt like he didn't have a heart anymore for some reason.

It felt weird. But there isn't much he can do. He can't force himself to fall in love with Rui. It would just weird.

Tsukasa had a weird feeling like someone was watching him. 

Time for a... Who is that antagonist!

1: creepy smile.

2: jester outfit.

3: looks like Tsukasa.

It's..... JESTERKASA!!

 When Tsukasa turned around, everything around him turned pitch black. And jesterkasa was there, laughing, laughing at Tsukasa.

"I won't give in!" Jesterkasa said in a mocking tone approaching Tsukasa.

"Such a futile effort, yet, you tried. It was entrataining while it lasted." Jesterkasa smiled stopping right in front of Tsukasa.

"So, tell me, how do you feel?" He asked.

"I..."

"TSUKASA-KUUUUUNNNNN!!"  A squeaky voice said and the jester started to fade away and the bathroom faded back in.

A familiar pink missile barged in the bathroom and saw Tsukasa.

"Tsukasa-kun...? What's wrong? You look all sweaty and worried..." Emu remarked.

Tsukasa looked at Emu with tears starting to flood his eyes.

Emu just hugged him in silence.

"Come on. Let's go back to your room." Emu said taking Tsukasa back to his room.

Tsukasa then explained everything that happened after he got impaled.

"What...? Tsukasa-kun, that's terrible! Why didn't you tell me?" Emu asked.

"Because, I didn't want you thinking I was crazy or anything like that! Besides, I was handling it quite well!" Tsukasa replied.

"You really weren't, Tsukasa-kun.." Emu said.

A sigh escaped Tsukasa's mouth.

"I know. I know... but I didn't want to worry anyone." Tsukasa said.

"Well... promise me that you'll tell me next time!" Emu replied.

Tsukasa nodded.

"Now about the Rui situation... Maybe you need to kiss him again?" Emu suggested.

"I doesn't work like that. If it did, that would've been the first thing I would've thought about." Tsukasa replied.

"Can you at least try on the next practice?" Emu asked.

Another sigh.

"Fine, fine. If it doesn't work, I'm not taking your advices again." 

"Aye aye captain!" Emu said.

The next day arrived. It was the last day before the show actually happened. They were rehearsing one more time, until it was that scene. 

Tsukasa was this feeling in his stomach that if it didn't go as planned, all the feelings he once had for Rui would be gone.

“Look… I’m in charge of seeing if every universe has its Sora and Katsuo together and going along the story line. You were the only Katsuo without a Sora so… I came here to fill in that gap.” Rui explained. 

All of this feels too familiar...

“But.. I see a Katsuo here, another one there! Those don’t have a Sora!” Tsukasa Said.

“That’s true..” Rui Said.

“But, I wanted you. I chose you, I don’t want those Katsuos! They will get their Sora's when they are supposed to! But… I wanted you. Out of all the yous, I chose you. I love you, Hayami Katsuo.” Rui Said. 

Nothing is really new, the same lines, same gestures, same everything. Except that feeling of dread didn't leave Tsukasa. Because, what if, and just what if, it didn't work? Is it a risk Tsukasa is willing to take. I mean he needs to take it, he doesn't have any other choice given the fact that it's on the script. Yet... what if...

No! Focus Tsukasa Tenma! This will work. It has to! I needs to.

"Tsukasa-kun? Are you alright?" Rui  asked bringing Tsukasa back from his thoughts.

"Oh! Yeah, yeah, don't worry." Tsukasa said and cleared his throat.

He finished his lines and....

KISS!

When the kiss ended, they pulled away and they finished practice.

Nothing. Tsukasa felt absolutely nothing. Not a thing. Zero. Tsukasa really did fall out of love with Rui. There isn't any going back. That's how it is.

Emu came up to Tsukasa when they finished.

"So! Tsukasa-kun, did it work?!" Emu asked excitedly.

He hatee to disappoint Emu, but he didn't have any other choice. "No. It didn't.. " Tsukasa replied.

Emu's smile dropped a bit, not because it didn't work, but because Tsukasa looked so stressed out and sad it was sad for her to see, and she hated it.

"Maybe if you try aga--" Emu tried speaking but was cut off by Tsukasa.

"No! It's not going to work, Emu. Even though I pray, and wish to whatever deity is out there that it works, it won't!" Tsukasa replied harshly.

That made Emu shut up.

"I- i'll go practice with Nene, sorry Tsukasa-kun." Emu said in a more quiet tone and left.

"W- Wait! Emu I-" Tsukasa tried stopping Emu but she was already gone.

Dammit...

The next day, the day of the show, the troupe was "backstage" finishing up some stuff and getting ready to perform. Tsukasa was going over some of his lines and acting time out when a quieter voice spoke up.

"Tsukasa. I need to talk to you." It was Nene.

"Hm? What is it?" Tsukasa asked.

"What happened between you and Emu yesterday when we were practicing?" Nene asked.

Ah, fuck. How he needed to explain how he basically made Emu cry because her idea didn't work. And to make matters worse, to Nene! He is terrified of Nene since he lived in the castle as a jester!

Well, he doesn't have any other choice anyways, so..

Chapter Text

Tsukasa explained to Nene everything, every detail, all the suffering and all of his feelings. No stone left unturned.

"You really are stupid." Nene said. "I thought you would have some form of brain, but no, you are just a delusional idiot, huh?" 

"What??? I just vented to you and you just say that..?" Tsukasa asked absolutely dumb founded by Nene's statement.

"Tsukasa, please. Why are you stressing over about not being in love with Rui?" Nene asked impatiently.

"To prove to that thing that it's wrong?" Tsukasa answered.

"No! You really are dumb... I don't get what he sees in you, but, it's because you do love him! You've been worrying to get your feelings back in order for you to feel happy again that you fell for that idiocy. Geez." Nene said.

"Then why didn't I feel anything when we kissed during practice?" Tsukasa countered.

"Because you knew it was fake!" Nene answered.

That made sense.. Nene was right, he did still love Rui, he was just blinded by Jesterkasa's manipulation and the stress that came with it that he just completely ignored his real feelings so he fell for those idiotic lies just like Nene said.

"I guess you are right... I am in love with Rui." Tsukasa said.

" Good, now cmon, we have a show to perform" Nene said going back to Rui and Emu.

"Alright!" Tsukasa said follow right behind.

"Ah! Done with your chat already?" Rui asked.

"Yeah. Our show starts in a few minutes right?" Nene asked.

"Indeed! So, is everyone ready?" Rui asked.

Emu, Nene and Tsukasa replied "yes" in unison.

"Then, let the show begin!" Rui said as he got ready to step on stage.

Kanade was the first to walk on stage. Why is Kanade there? She was going to narrate the story, Rui walked in not long after her, and the play began.

"Sora Kazuki, a space watcher that lives in his own little realm surrounded by mini versions of the world. It’s his pocket dimension that he used to observe every universe to see if everything was in order.

More importantly,

If every Sora Kazuki had his Katsuo Hayami.

The Sora Kazuki in his dimension had his Katsuo Hayami, yet… the owner of the realm, didn’t. He started to feel lonely, seeing all the Soras with their respective partner and the Katsuos with their respective Sora." Kanade narrated

Rui walked on stage and the play went on without any incidents.

It was a long play, but anything to make the residents of the former dawn village happy.

During the play, Rui couldn't help but notice how Tsukasa felt more... relaxed during the play. That left Rui more at ease, knowing he is happy and relaxed, he couldn't wish for more.

The play flew by so fast, everyone was enjoying themselves, Tsukasa looked more alive then every before, Rui kept up with his energy during the play and so did Nene and Emu.“Sora have you see— what are you doing?” Tsukasa asked.

“N-NOTHING!” Rui replied

“What.. is this..?” Tsukasa asked confused.

"Sora.." Tsukasa replied.

"I love you, so please, will you do me the honor and... May I have a kiss?" Tsukasa added.

"Of course.." Rui said and leaned in slowly....

KISS!

Tsukasa felt something then, something he hadn't felt before, he didn't know if it was love or just the fact he was kissing the guy he loved, but he definitely felt something. Sparks as you would call it.

Rui was kissing him with such warmth, it felt like a fairytale. Like those princess fairytales and Rui was the prince saving the princess and the princess was Tsukasa.

Or something like that.

They pulled away, smiled at eachother and Emu and Nene came back on stage to give their final bow.

They all held hands and bowed to the crowd as the crowd cheered and clapped in awe. They needed that after loosing their beloved village, a break from everything was very welcomed.

And they did it, they did their show and they made people smile. Our travelling troupe was happy. But it was now for them to leave and start a new chapter, after all, they had a lake house to reach.

After saying their goodbyes to the crowd, they cleaned up everything packed up what needed to be packed up and went back to the house they were staying at before.

"Are you sure you wouldn't want to join us, Yoisaki-san? After all you did for us?" Rui asked.

"No, no. It's fine. Me, Mafuyu and Ena need to help the residents, besides, we'll be alright." Kanade said.

"Understood, but again, we thank you for your assistance these past few days." Rui replied.

"It's not a problem, besides, it's the least I could do after you all saved Ena." Kanade remarked.

"But that wasn't any problem at all" Rui said.

"Well, then, you all should be going now, I have some stuff I to do here." Kanade said.

"Understood, Goodbye, Yoisaki-san!" Rui said.

"Goodbye!" Kanade replied and left.

"Rui! Ready to go?" Tsukasa said coming up to Rui with Emu and Nene behind him with all, their bags packed.

"Yes, let's go, Tsukasa-kun!" Rui said.

And so, they set off to the famous lake house. Maybe something good will happen there, maybe not, only time will tell.

Meiko went to what used to be Rui's bedroom. And just stood there in silence and she looked around the room, the memories of Rui flooding in, he ran away because of her, it was her fault. She didn't understand him, she left him unhappy, and then, she tried killing his best friend (crush actually but she doesn't know that yet) but she's gone too far to go back now, she had to bring Rui back at whatever cost. Now that Aoyagi is down, she needed to step out for a bit, let everything chill out.

"What have I begun..." Meiko said sitting on Rui's desk and sighing.

That was when she looked at his desk and saw a piece of paper, a letter, a letter written by Rui to Tsukasa.

Meiko opened and what she saw.... a love letter.

"Hm. This is interesting..." Meiko said reading through the letter.

"So, that human did persuade him into running away... well, that human isn't staying alive for long." Meiko said folding the letter and putting it back where she found it.

Then, Meiko stated,

"Rui is coming back whether he likes it or not, and that human, is dead."

After what felt like days (it was only 5 hours), our travelling troupe finally arrived at the Tenma's lake house. It was a somewhat big house with a sort of outdoor lounge with a bonfire, a pier to the lake where they can jump into the lake, not the mention the clear water of the lake that sparkled so brightly it could blind someone, it was perfect to rest for a while. Not to mention, because of Tsukasa's injury which they had to stay in dawn village for one more week then anticipated, the next bus would only be in 2 days! So theybhad plenty of time to enjoy the lake house.

"Wow.. Tsukasa-kun, I didn't expect the lake house to be this..." Rui started.

"Fancy? Yeah, I know. It was a shock to Emu at first too." Tsukasa replied.

"WAIT!! TSUKASA-KUN! DO YOU HAVE KEYS TO THE HOUSE?" Emu asked a bit nervous.

"I do, as a matter a fact! I brought it with me to our "adventure"" Tsukasa remarked getting the keys from his pocket and jingling them in front of Emu.

Okay, now pause, how in the fuck didn't Tsukasa loose those keys?? Like, he did so much stuff, and those keys didn't fall of his pockets?? Honestly man, physics aren't physicing today.

"I'm surprised those keys didn't fall off your pockets." Nene remarked.

"I am very careful with my stuff!" Tsukasa said.

Yeah but he isn't discreet. Yeah I'm looking at you Tsukasa from chapter 8/9.

"Whatever, let's just go inside... this backpack is killing my back" Nene complained.

Tsukasa went to the front door and unlocked the key.

"Oh! Oh! I wanna share a room with Nene-chan!" Emu said.

"Wait. What does she mean by sharing rooms?" Nene asked.

"Well... there are only two rooms in the house.. when Emu was here, she had to sleep on the couch" Tsukasa explained.

"Oh." Nene said. "Alright, you can choose first, I don't care what room I stay in" Nene added.

Emu had already gone to Tsukasa and Saki's shared room that had two beds and what decorated with stars and had a plushie or two.

"Well, I guess I won't be able to choose after all." Tsukasa said.

Nene sighed. "Then I'll go unpack." Nene said going to the bedroom emu was in.

"So that would leave us with the other room, correct?" Rui asked.

"Mhm! Let's go!" Tsukasa said leading Rui to the bedroom.

"oh. Right I forgot." Tsukasa said staring at the one queen sized bed in the room.

"You forgot this room only had one bed? " Rui asked.

"Yeah. If it bothers you I could sleep in the couch in--" Tsukasa said but was interrupted.

"No, no! I don't mind that at all!" Rui replied.

"Oh! Good... I take the left side of the bed." Tsukasa stated.

"Alright, as you wish." Rui said.

The two then started unpacking some stuff they would need and after that, Tsukasa left to go make dinner.

"So, when are you telling him?" A familiar voice said, startling Rui.

"Hm? Oh! Nene, what do you mean" Rui asked.

He knew what she meant, he just wanted to make sure.

"You know, your feelings for Tsukasa?" Nene said.

"Oh that... I'm planing on telling him when we reach the human city." Rui answered.

"Geez... You're taking too long. Besides, nothing will happen while we are here, so why not?" Nene asked.

"It's..  complicated. Like how am I supposed to tell him?" Rui asked.

Another sigh from Nene's mouth. She never had a moment of peace... "Listen, after dinner, me and Emu will go watch a movie in our room and you confess then! Sounds good?" Nene asked.

".. You aren't gonna stop pestering me with it are you?" Rui asked, to which Nene nodded.  A sigh, this time from Rui's mouth. "Fine..." Rui said.

"Good. You better tell him tonight." Nene said as she left the room.

Ah crap, now Rui had to tell Tsukasa about his feeling or else Nene wouldn't shut up about it. Maybe it's for the best after all, I mean, the purple idiot over here has been silent about it for almost an entire month.

That guy has some serious issues.

After dinner time.

"Everyone, listen up! How about we go to the bonfire for a bit? I think that would be nice, no?" Tsukasa proposed

"OH! YES YES YESSSS!" Emu excitedly said. 

THAT WASNT IN THE PLAN!

"That would be a fun idea, Tsukasa-kun." Rui said

Nene knew Rui just wanted to delay the confession, but she couldn't really go against it so she agreed.

"Alright then! I'll get the fire going, Emu, get stuff to make smores! Nene, get us stuff for hot cocoa and Rui get some blankets!" Tsukasa exclaimed as he left the dinner table to get the wood for the fire.

"You're telling him after the bonfire." Nene stated. To which Rui nodded.

Rui went into his room, to get some blankets and after that, he went to the bonfire lounge.

When he arrived there, Tsukasa was trying to light up the fire.

"Do you need help, Tsukasa-kun?" Rui asked.

"Nope! I'm good here, thanks." Tsukasa said finally lighting up the fire.

"Then let's begin." Rui said putting down the blankets for those who wanted.

They were all having a good time, talking, telling stories, playing games and even doing a bit of stargazing!

"Alright, Tsukasa, Rui, me and Emu are going to watch a movie in our room and then we're going to sleep." Nene said getting up as Emu also got up.

"Yeah! So nighty-night!" Emu exclaimed as she went back inside. Before Nene went inside as well, she winked at Rui to basically tell him what to do.

"We should probably do the same. I'll go get some water to put this fire ou--" As Tsukasa was getting up. Rui stopped him, grabbing him by the wrist.

"Tsukasa, I need to talk to you." Rui said.

"Hm? What is it?" Tsukasa said as Rui got up.

"So... You know how you let me use your diary to write once because I forgot mine at the castle?" Rui asked.

"Yeah, so?" Tsukasa asked.

This was it.

"I accidentally saw one of your entries.. how you said you liked me and started fantasizing about stuff.." Rui said.

Tsukasa turned a bright shade of red. HE READ HIS ENTRY?? HE WAS SCREWED FOR SURE.

"I- It's not what you th-" Tsukasa said but was interrupted by Rui.

"Tell me the truth. Do you like me?" Rui asked.

There was no way out of this now.. he had to come clean. Rui already knows he likes him, so what else he could hide?

Tsukasa just leaned forward and rested his head on Rui chest as he sighed.

"It's true. I'm sorry I lied to you for so long but..." 

"I love you, Rui Kamishiro. I always have."

Rui couldn't believe it. Could that be the truth? Did Tsukasa Tenma really actually love him? He couldn't believe it. Tsukasa Tenma did love him. He wasn’t hallucinating that one time! Oh thank goodness he wasn’t hallucinating because that would’ve been embarrassing to say.

”You… You do?” Rui asked with the shock visible on his face. If this was true and it wasn’t just a dream he is having while sleeping near the bonfire, he is going to explode.

”Yes. I do…” Tsukasa said lifting his head up and looking at Rui.

ITS REAL PEOPLE!! ITS FREAKING REAL AFTER 18 CHAPTERS!! THANK THE WRITER!! ROUND OF APPLAUSE!! AAA—

okay. Too overboard. Back to the story and for the cheesiest scene in this entire fanfic i assume.

Rui took a deep breath.. and if you recall chapter 17, you’ll remember this.

Without thinking twice, Tsukasa leaned in and…

Kiss!

An actual kiss. They finally confessed to each other. Nene was watching them with a not-so-happy expression on her face.

Flashback!

An: “Hey, Miss Nene!” 

Nene: “Hm? Is something wrong Shiraishi?”

An: “Nope! But… you know how Tsukasa and Mr. Rui LIKE LIKE each other, right?”  

Nene: “Yes, I know that..” 

An: “So… who do think will confess first?~”

Nene: “Rui. Definitely Rui.”

An: “Really? I think Tsukasa would confess first… He just gives off that vibe..” 

Nene: “Pfft. I doubt it.”

An: “Then let's make a bet.”

End of flashback

Damnit Rui!

Back to Rui and Tsukasa.

The kiss they shared finally felt real. Even after kissing each other countless times, this time was just different it just felt and was real.

After a few seconds, they pulled away from each other and looked at each other with flushed faces.

“Ah… uhm.. What do we…?” Tsukasa asked looking flustered.

“I'm not sure… are we… dating now?” Rui asked.

“I guess we are…” Tsukasa remarked.

That made Rui blush even more. But he pulled Tsukasa into a hug and started kissing him one more time.

Nene was watching all of that wondering how much gay they could get.

“Nene-chan are you— NO WAYYY!!” a squeaky voice said behind Nene. Emu.

“Shh! Keep it down! Yes, they confessed to each other!” Nene whispered.

Emu put a hand on her mouth and shut up.

Nene then slowly and quietly went back to her room with Emu so that the official gay couple wouldn't notice.

A few moments later, Tsukasa and Rui went back inside and went to their room.

Tsukasa was in bed waiting for Rui to get in his nightwear. He was looking at the ceiling while reflecting on everything that had happened up to now. First, he had to become a jester so that his sister wouldn't die. Then he fell in love and ran away with the guy who forced him to become a jester. After that, they blew up a “hotel”, not to mention all the side stuff that happened before he was stabbed and almost died. 

Wow. So much stuff had happened.

Too much stuff now that the writer is thinking about it.

Rui came out of the bathroom in his nightwear. And saw Tsukasa spacing out on the bed.

“Tsukasa-kun? Everything alright?” Rui asked.

“Yeah! I was just thinking about how much has happened after we ran away” Tsukasa explained.

“You’re right.” Rui said sitting down on one side of the bed.

“But, I don't mind it. I'm glad really.” Tsukasa said turning off the lights.

“I'm pretty tired. I'm going to sleep, good night.” Tsukasa said layed down.

“Good night, my star.” Rui said doing the same.

My… star? This was so predictable but anyway. Perfect! A perfect ending for a perfect relationship. In just 3-4 days, they will be in the human city and they will finally be able to restart.

In the morning. Tsukasa and Rui woke up cuddled onto each other when a VERRYYY excited knocking started echoing in the room. 

“RUI-KUNNN! TSUKASA-KUUUNNNN!!!” a high-pitched voice said. Emu. Of course it was Emu.

Tsukasa got up and opened the door to find Emu with a flashy happy smile plastered on her face and… in a swimming suit?

“IT'S REALLY HOT OUTSIDE AND ITS A SUNNY DAY SO COULD WE GO SWIMMING IN THE LAKE PLEEEAAASSSEEE???” Emu asked really hyper. 

Tsukasa took a good 5 seconds to process that information until Rui showed up behind him.

“Go swimming? I can't say that idea doesn't appeal to me. What do you say, Tsukasa-kun?” Rui asked.

“Fine… we can go swimming AFTER breakfast” Tsukasa said with a sigh.

“YAAAAYYYY!” Emu said giving Tsukasa a hug and running off to tell Nene. 

“What’s gotten her so hyper today?” Tsukasa asked himself.

Saki Tenma 🎹! : Hey, Ichi-chan, do you want to come have dinner with me and Shiho today? We need to talk.

Ichika 🎸: Oh! Sure, Saki. What time?

Saki Tenma 🎹! : 7 pm at that ramen restaurant near the station?

Ichika 🎸: Sure. I'll be there.

At the ramen bar, Saki and Ichika were waiting for Shiho to show up.

“Do you think she’s coming? I mean… it is about the vampire world after all..” Ichika asked

“I'm here. Sorry I'm late.” Shiho said bursting through the door and going to where Saki and Ichika were.

“Shiho-chan! I'm glad you're here.” Saki said excitedly.

“Yeah. I almost didn't come because… I don't think I have to explain myself.” Shiho said.

“Understandable. So, what would our plan be?” Ichika said looking at Saki as Shiho sat down at the booth.

Saki then pulled out a very big piece of paper with an entire plan written down.

“So! We go to the lake house and make our way to the castle my brother was taken from me. Then, we fight off the bad vampires, save my brother and Emu, and go to find Shizuku. And then we find Shizuku and we come back and celebrate and—” Saki rambled.

“I'll have to stop you right there. We don't even know where my sister was last, not to mention, what if she’s already dead? And what if they are all already dead?” Shiho said.

“They aren't dead! Stop being a party pooper! If Tsukasa and Emu are alive, then Shizuku must be too!” Saki replied, hopeful.

“And also, Saki, how would be survive out there in the wild?” Ichika asked.

“Well… uhm.. Get camping stuff! Yeah!” Saki replied.

“But—” 

“Stop! Nothing will happen! We are strong enough to fend ourselves against the vampires, right?” Saki asked.

Shiho and Ichika couldn't say no… that would crush their friend’s heart!

“Fine. But if it starts getting too dangerous, we are going back.” Shiho said.

“YAY! YAY! YAY! THANK YOU!!” Saki said excitedly hugging Shiho.

“Alright! Calm down!”

“We could go buy the camping equipment tomorrow,” Ichika said.

“Great idea! Ich-chan!” Saki beamed in excitement.

Shiho was slowly starting to regret her decision… but… what if she found Shizuku?? It was a risk Shiho was willing to take.

In a forest… the sun was about to start rising, and Toya was headed back to the castle when suddenly…

Crash!

Toya got tackled to the ground. 

“Toya, damnit! Talk to me!” a familiar voice spoke. Akito…

“Why are you avoiding me?! What have I done to you…” Akito asked still on top of Toya.

“Get away from me, Akito” Toya said. 

“ANSWER ME!” Akito yelled.

“… You know what you’ve done.” Toya said with a cold rage slowly bubbling inside of him.

“You killed my father,” Toya added.

“WHAT?! Toya… what have they done to you…” Akito said getting off from Toya.

“you think I can forgive you for that?! You're crazy, Akito.” Toya said.

“What can I do to make you remember..” Akito thought.

That was when something came to his mind. A photo he kept inside his jacket. One of his favorite memories with Toya.

“Then please. At least have this.” Akito said handing Toya the picture.

Toya looked at the picture. It was a picture of toya looking at Akito softly as they were singing on a stage with An. They looked to be around 14-15 at the time and they had such pure and bright smiles on their faces.

Something in Toya snapped. It was like everything flooded back, how he was tricked into believing Akito killed his own father, how he was tricked into becoming a vampire and serving Queen Meiko as her general.

It was like...! Then he remembered his feelings for Akito. Those frail, warm, sweet feelings he felt for his first singing partner… the person that made him reveal himself.

“Akito…” Toya's demeanor changed as he looked at Akito with a less harsh look, a softer look at that.

“Toy— huh?” Akito suddenly tackled to the ground with a hug as tears that weren't his own fell down his face.

“I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm such a terrible person! I let myself be manipulated by them! I'm sorry! You don't need to forgive me! I—” Toya said while crying.

“Shh… it's alright. I'm not mad. I'm glad you remembered…” Akito said while hugging him back and stroking Toya’s hair.

“I can't believe I forgot everything and thought you were a horrible person…  I even forgot my feelings for you..” Toya said as he wiped his tears away.

Feelings?

“I'm sorry, feelings?!” Akito asked shocked.

“Yes! Feelings! I liked you since we were partners. Well, until I got brainwashed, but I still like you!” Toya said.

“Toya… I'm sorry.” Akito said and leaned forward and…

A kiss??? Geez. Do these gays not know how to do anything else but kiss?

Anyways, they kissed. Woooooo.

Akito pulled away and found a VERY red Toya.

“I'm sorry! Was I too uhm…” Akiro said.

“No! I- It's totally fine…” Toya said.

“Oh… good…” Akito said.

Okay, the writer doesn't know what happens after a kiss. To finish off, Akito and Toya after a while went back to the castle, where Toya resigned from his position and went to live with Akito in the Midnight Village, ever since the weekend hideout burnt down because of a certain purple-haired individual and his strawberry blonde companion, Akito had to move to the north with An’s dad since he didn't know where his sister lived. 

And now, we’ve finished off a side story of our story, the tragic story of Shinonome Akito and his now partner, Aoyagi Toya.

Tsukasa was preparing breakfast while Nene, Emu, and Rui got ready to go swimming.

Rui came up to Tsukasa and started talking to him.

“Tsukasa-kun? Are you perhaps a… good swimmer?” Rui asked with a bit of a sheepish tone.

“Yeah, why?” Tsukasa replied as he continued cooking.

“Because.. Me and Nene don't know how to swim.” Rui said.

“Wait. If both of you don't know how to swim, why did you both agree to it in the first place?!” Tsukasa asked completely baffled by Rui’s own ignorance.

“Because we wanted you and Emu-kun to have a nice day swimming, not having to worry about us…” Rui replied.

“You both could've just rejected, we wouldn't mind.” Tsukasa said.

“But we wanted to enjoy our day with the both of you!” Rui answered.

That was when an idea crossed Tsukasa’s mind.

“But… what if me and Emu taught the both of you to swim? That way, you guys wouldn't be missing all the fun!” Tsukasa suggested.

“Really?! You would do that for us?” Rui asked.

“Yes, yes! Just be ready when we finish breakfast, alright?” Tsukasa said.

Rui went over, hugged Tsukasa, gave him a kiss on the top of his head, and said.

“Thank you.. I'll let Nene know.” Rui said then walked off to tell Nene.

You can probably imagine Tsukasa’s reaction to that. He was beet red, frozen in place, he didn't even reply to Rui when he left… It might take a bit for Tsukasa to start getting used to this type of affection, since he isn't used to it.

“Alright! Nene and Rui, welcome to swimming lessons 101!” Tsukasa beamed.

“Yay!! I'll be teaching Nene-chan how to swim while Tsukasa-kun will be teaching Rui-kun!” Emu said grabbing some kiddie life jackets that were beside her.

“Put these on!” Emu said handing one to Nene and another one to Rui.

When they finished putting it on… Nene was mostly fine while Rui… well he basically couldn't breathe. So Tsukasa went there to help him.

“Yeah… Maybe we could give Rui something else to use to keep afloat… Oh! I know!” Tsukasa said and rushed inside.

He came back with a flamingo floatie that was big enough to fit Rui. 

“This should work!” Tsukasa said giving the floatie to Rui.

Rui put it on and it just so happened to fit him and it even had some extra space left.

“Thank you, Tsukasa-kun,” Rui said.

“Alright! Let's get to the swimming lessons!” Tsukasa said and right after just jumped in the water with Emu following right behind.

“C'mon, both of you!” Tsukasa said as he swam a bit backward to give both Rui and Nene enough space so they could jump in the water.

Rui was the first to jump while Nene followed right after. Both of them swam to their instructors and they began their swimming lesson.

I mean… it's their story, so I think we should cover theirs this time, okay?

Alright~!

So, Rui and Tsukasa began their swimming lessons.

“Rui, do your feet like this!” Tsukasa said showing Rui how he should move his feet while on the water. 

“Like this?” Rui asked imitating Tsukasa.

“Perfect! Now let’s continue…” Tsukasa said swimming over to Rui.

After some time, Rui finally got the hang of swimming and let go of the floatie.

Aka: The writer is too lazy to write an entire swimming lesson segment.

“You don't need the floatie anymore! Good! Now c'mon! Let's go enjoy while we still have Sun.” Tsukasa said swimming a bit closer to the shore.

When Rui reached him… They started a water fight, splashing water onto one another as if there was no end to it. They were enjoying their afternoon after so much drama and suffering, they finally had peace. When they reached the human city, it would be paradise, they would be doing shows, plays, just y’know, live a happy life. The life they wanted. Making people smile with shows and… need I say more?

After a while, the sun began to set, and they had a great day of swimming and playing around before they reached the final destination.

The night started to fall and they all decided to gather around that same fireplace where Tsukasa and Rui confessed to each other.

“So, tonight, I was thinking we could talk about what happened while we were swimming separately from each other.” Tsukasa said sitting beside Rui.

“OH! OH! I'll start! While I was teaching Nene how to swim when she saw a REALLY big water plant! She thought it was some Lake monster and ran to me screaming ‘Emu! Emu! Save me! I think something is trying to get me~!’ and she showed me what it was! I started giggling because I never thought Nene would be scared by one of those… it was so funny!” Emu started. 

Rui and Tsukasa were cracking up, while Nene looked very embarrassed.

“Shut up… I didn't know what it was! Besides, you believed me when I first told you!” Nene replied.

“But you sounded so real!! Don't blame me~!” Emu whined.

“Hahahahaha~! That was interesting. Me and Tsukasa got tangled up in some of those water plants while we were swimming. They tangled up in our feet and we couldn't continue swimming because of it! It took us a bit but eventually, we got out of there. But I did get a small cut on my ankle from pulling myself out too strongly.” Rui said showing Nene and Emu a band-aid on his right ankle.

“But thankfully, Tsukasa treated it properly, and now it's alright!” Rui said with a smile.

“Really?! Where were you guys?” Emu asked.

“Near the center of the lake, after that, we didn't swim there anymore, and since I was already able to swim without the floatie, Me and Tsukasa went back to where we could touch the ground witout feet.” Rui explained.

“Oh! That was where Nene-chan saw the water monster!” Emu said giggling a bit.

Nene stayed silent and was very embarrassed.

“Oh! We also took some pictures while you were finishing to teach Nene how to swim!” Tsukasa said grabbing a small camera from his pocket and turning it on to show Emu the pictures.

There were pictures of both of them like a selfie, pictures of silly poses they made, and pictures of them jumping in the water with silly poses. They seemed to be having a lot of fun.

“Oh! That reminds me of when Emu was trying to jump into the water, instead of jumping regularly, she accidentally fell flat on her stomach and it sounded like she had just received a slap!” Nene said.

“It hurt a lot…” Emu said.

“Are you okay now though, Emu?” Tsukasa asked.

“Mhm! Couldn't be better!” Emu beamed.

“I'm glad. Anyways, marshmallows gave finished roast—” When Tsukasa looked at the poor marshmallows, he looked embarrassed. The marshmallows had been carbonized and burnt to a crisp! They were completely black!

“Oh…” Tsukasa said looking at the marshmallows.

“It's okay! We can still eat it, look!” Emu said, grabbing a marshmallow and popping it in her mouth. She made a funny face and added

“They are still gooey and delicious! But they are bitter…” Emu said with a funny face. Everyone laughed, sure, their marshmallows became bitter, but it was another situation to remember, like those good old memories that play, and you miss those times. They were having fun, they were enjoying it a lot.

But little did they know the storm that was coming for them in the human city.

“I’m glad that you both got here on such short notice,” Meiko said.

“No worries Your Highness, it's our job after all.” a soft and angelic voice said.

“Well, as you both know, my children and those... humans… are almost at the human city. I need you two to take the humans out and bring both Nene and Rui back here.” Meiko said.

“Wait.. By take out you mean..?” A stronger yet still very feminine voice said.

“Yes. End them. But only end them after my children have returned.. Wait.. No. In fact, don't kill them. Put them in the dungeon and I'll end them myself.” Meiko said.

“I… yes your Highness.” The soft voice spoke again.

“Good. As the best sorceress of the kingdom, I'm sure you won't disappoint, correct?” Meiko said, to which both people nodded.

“Good. Then go do your job, Shizuku-san and Airi-san.” Meiko said.

“Yes Ma’am.” they both said and headed off.

Tsukasa, Nene, Emu, and Rui left the lake house early so they could get on that bus by 3 pm, it was a 7-8 hour hike... To be honest, I feel bad for them.

Weren't you one of them?

Exactly, feel bad for me, I had to deal with those guys for 8 hours on a hike.

How mean~! I thought you liked us!

I'm considering revoking the “like” privilege 

But [REDACTED]! I'm your own [REDACTED 4.0]! Why are you so mean~!

Fine…

So, since nothing really happened while they were walking, I'm just gonna skip this and head on straight to the bus stop, because that is when things get interesting.

They arrived at the bus stop at 2:15 pm, perfect timing.

“Ugh… I feel like I don't have a back anymore…” Nene complained as she sat down.

“And I feel like I don't have feet anymore…” Rui joined in.

“Geez… you both need to get more exercise…” Tsukasa sighed. “When we get to the human city, I'm putting the both of you to do more exercises” 

“Tsukasa-kun~! Are you really going to be that mean to me?” The purple man whined.

“Yes.” The blonde one deadpanned.

That was when the bus arrived and was filling up with gas and changing drivers because a 16-hour trip is not easy in the least… but then, as the passengers got out, they saw some familiar faces…

It was Saki, Ichika, and Shiho, who were surprisingly also being accompanied by Minori and Haruka. No fucking way…

“S… SAKIIIIIIII!!!!!!” Tsukasa yelled and ran to Saki to hug her.

Saki hadn't seen her brother so when she was brought into a sudden hug she was in shock, but then when she saw Tsukasa… She just started sobbing in his arms.

“Big Brother! I… I can't believe it! You’re alive and well! I… Waaaah~!” Saki said sobbing in her brother’s arms while he cried himself as well.

Rui, Nene, and Emu approached the group of human girls.

“Otori?! You're alive as well?!” Ichika said in shock.

“Yup~! Alive and perfectly well! We even made some new friends! Nene-chan and Rui-kun!” Emu beamed excitedly.

“H-Hi…” Nene waved shyly.

“Hello! You must all be Tsukasa-kun and Emu-kun’s friends, correct?” Rui asked.

Saki looked up and saw Rui.

“YOU! YOU TOOK MY BROTHER! YOU BETTER NOT HAVE HU—” Saki started yelling when Tsukasa stopped her.

“Saki, calm down! Rui and I are on good terms now… besides…” Tsukasa then got closer and whispered in her ear. “I'm dating him.” Tsukasa whispered.

“WHAT?! HOW DID THAT HAPPEN SO QUICKLY!?” Saki asked completely shook

“I'll explain everything, calm down!” Tsukasa said.

“You better! And you better tell me we are going home!” Saki said wiping her tears away.

“Yes, we are,” Tsukasa said and everyone sighed.

“But me and Minori aren't going back. We planned on coming along to find Shizuku, so we are going to stay.” Haruka said in a more serious tone.

“Kiritani-san, I must advise you that the vampire world is a ton lot more dangerous now. Especially now that me and my sister, Nene left. There are vampire guards scattered everywhere. And we got injured by some of them and Tsukasa-kun almost got killed by one of them! Are you sure you really want to risk yourselves to find one person?” Rui explained.

“Don't worry! We are prepared for anything! And if we need to, we’ll be very quiet with our movements!” Minori beamed.

“Understood.. Is anyone else staying here?” Rui asked.

That was when Shiho spoke up. “Me. It's my sister we’re talking about. I can't just not go.” Shiho explained.

“But Shiho! What if you don't come back~!” Saki said worried.

“Don't worry, I'll come back as soon as we find her, alright?” Shiho said trying to comfort Saki. “ Besides, did you see your brother? He was able to get through all of that and still live. If he is able to do it, I'm more than certain I can do it.” Shiho said.

“Ok… please don't die, alright?” Saki asked giving Shiho one last hug.

“I promise I won't.” Shiho said picking up her bags and handing Minori and Haruka theirs.

“We’ll be heading off now, safe travel, everyone.” Haruka said.

“Safe journey for you and your companions.” Rui said.

They all waved goodbye and with that, Haruka, Shiho and Minori headed on their journey in search of Shizuku Hinomori, the former third idol of the trio More More Fight! And Shiho’s beloved sister.

And now, only Ichika, Saki, Tsukasa, Emu, Nene, and Rui remained.

Tsukasa left to buy the tickets and Saki called Rui to speak in private.

“Listen, Kamishiro right? If you dare to even hurt my brother or break his heart in any way, I'm coming after your head. And don't think I've forgiven you for all that you did when you captured him just because you are dating him. But, I hope my warning is clear.” Saki said in a serious and angry tone.

“Rest assured, I swear to never let anything harm him, ever.” Rui said.

“Then why did he almost die!?” Saki asked.

“All of that will be explained with time, just please don't let it all out on me…” Rui said.

“Fine! But you both better have a good explanation for that!” Saki said.

“We do, we do..” Rui said.

After a few minutes, Tsukasa came back with the tickets.

“We can board the bus now, cmon!” Tsukasa said calling over the group. They all put their bags inside the bus and boarded the bus. The pairings were, Emu and Nene, Ichika and Rui and Saki with Tsukasa… He had at least 3-5 weeks of explaining to do to Saki…

“Okay… How do I start this?” Tsukasa mumbled to himself as Saki awaited the explanation.

Since it is a ton to explain I won't be explaining here right now. But basically, Tsukasa told Saki the entirety of what happened from chapters 2 to 21 in the span of 3 hours.

“Wow… all of that happened in 5 weeks?! I just can't believe it, really.” Saki said processing the story.

“I know, it's understandable your reaction, I wouldn't believe myself too,” Tsukasa said.

“Now I do get why you are dating him. He is a nice guy, he just did that because he had to punish us somehow…” Saki said.

“Exactly. Anyways, do you want to switch with Rui and sit with Ichika like you planned?” Tsukasa asked.

“Yeah.” Saki then turned around “Hey Rui, Do you want to switch with me so you can be with my brother?” Saki asked.

“Of course I do! It's my boyfriend after all! No offense Hoshino-san.” Rui said.

“None taken, don't worry.” Ichika said with a smile.

Rui and Saki got uo and switched places, the sun was setting earlier… it was about 6 pm now.

“So, did you explain to her?” Rui asked.

“I did. But I think she’s just glad I'm safe.” Tsukasa said.

“Most likely.” Rui said yawning.

Tsukasa noticed that and asked. “Do you want to take a nap on my shoulder? You look exhausted.” Tsukasa asked.

“Yes, if that wouldn't be too uncomfortable.” Rui said resting his head on Tsukasa’s shoulder.

“Not at all.” Tsukasa said and Rui started dozing off.

After a while, Tsukasa started dozing off and he held Rui’s hand while he rested his head on top of Rui’s. Honestly, such a gay moment.

(Writer’s note: This is inspired by my friend who slept like that with a guy who had a crush on her and she didn't know. Sorry mimi </3)

And it was like that for half the trip, them sleeping on each other’s shoulders and holding each other’s hands.

And don't worry, Saki took a photo of them sleeping.

“Is this it?” Shizuku asked.

“From what Queen Meiko told us, yeah.” Airi replied.

“We shouldn't attack now, let them rest a bit. I think a surprise attack will be better.” Shizuku remarked.

“Then alright, I'll put this here.” Airi said placing a cat-shaped camera in Saki’s bedroom. Yes, they broke in the house. But the Tenma parents are out on a business trip so, they have no idea.

The camera was hidden between Saki’s plushies with a forged note that said: ‘For when you come back, love mom and dad’

Airi and Shizuku finished setting up the stuff and fled the scene pretending like nothing had happened.

“Now we wait…” said Airi.

Didn't the title tell you what was gonna happen? Now, we’ve reached probably the angstiest arc out of all of them, that's right, the big guns are out for this one. Let's just hope no one dies.

Chapter Text

Tsukasa woke up a bit before the bus trip ended. Rui was still asleep and they were still holding hands with their heads on each other’s shoulders. Tsukasa checked the time, 6 am. Oh right. They’ve been on this bus for a while, walking again will be a pain in the ass… At least they still have an hour off the bus before walking home.

“Kasa-kun…” a tired mumbled escaped Rui’s mouth.

“Hm..? You're also awake?” The blonde asked.

“I have been for the past hour, I was trying to sleep again but I just couldn't...” Rui mumbled lifting his head from Tsukasa’s shoulder.

“Well, it's only one more hour till we reach the human city.” Tsukasa said.

“That's nice… Do you want to watch a movie ‘till we get there?” The Vampire asked.

“Would be nice…” The human replied.

“Then let me put something on…” Rui said as he turned on the mini screen on the back of the front seat, scrolling through all the movies they could possibly choose, romances, horrors, and whatever else they could think of. That was when they stumbled upon a 90s movie called Cry-baby with an interesting premise. A town where the community was divided into two types of definitions, squares, and drapes. Squares are the respected and high society while drapes are the opposite. It was a romantic comedy. The two of them put on earbuds and began to watch it.

The bus reached its final stop, the Shibuya bus station. It wasn't that far from the Tenma household so they were going to walk there.

Emu and Nene got out first and Ichika and Saki followed right behind. As they took out their bags, Tsukasa and Rui came out of the bus while talking about the movie.

“Oh! And remember that scene where Alisson was with Cry-baby to the side? Honestly, that cut from the concert to them was sort of hilarious” Rui commented.

“Exactly! I mean, who would've imagined it would basically cut to crybaby almost eating up Alisson’s neck!?” Tsukasa replied with a chuckle.

“Maybe that could be us in the future…”

”Rui! Don’t say that kind of stuff in public!” Tsukasa complained.

“Fine… But I'm sure my dear star would like it, no?” Rui said with a sly smile.

I apologize for this gayness you're having to experience. 

“Can the both of you stop embarrassing yourselves in public? I'd make you both shut up but I don't have the energy to do so…” Nene said.

“We should probably go home and rest then… besides, we can them around tomorrow.” Saki added.

The group agreed and they went home after a long 16-hour bus trip. They still had to walk, and Nene complained the entire way there. It was only a 10 minute walk though

It was the next day, and Tsukasa and Rui were still asleep in Tsukasa’s room.

I'm so sorry for the time skip my dear reader, but nothing really happened they just got home and went to sleep, as if they hadn't slept enough.

“Big bro! Are you too tired?” Saki asked calling for her big brother.

“What…?” Tsukasa asked still half asleep.

“I need you to go to the supermarket and get some stuff, can you do that?” Saki asked handing him a comically long shopping list.

“Huh… yeah sure..” Tsukasa still hadn't realized how long the list was.

“Yay! Thanks, bye!” Saki said running off to do something else.

Tsukasa went back inside his room where Rui was just waking up and decided to take a look at the list. And by taking a look, I mean realizing how long it actually is.

“Fuuu—” Tsukasa said reading the list.

“Language… also, why are you annoyed?” Rui asked sitting up in bed.

“Saki gave me this huge shopping list.” Tsukasa said showing the list to Rui.

“Oh my… Do you want me to come with you to help?” Rui asked.

“That… would actually be very helpful, thank you.” Tsukasa said.

“Then let me go get ready.” Rui said getting up from bed.

Tsukasa nodded and went to get ready himself.

They both arrived at the supermarket and Tsukasa started to read off the list.

“Rice, meat, fish… blah blah blah… alright..” Tsukasa mumbled to himself while walking through the aisles and picking up the items needed.

Rui was curiously looking through everything. Some of the items there were nonexistent in the vampire world so it made Rui curious.

“Tsukasa-kun! What’s this?” Rui said holding up a 2-litre bottle of Coca-Cola.

“Oh! That’s Coke, it's a soda. I forgot vampires don't drink soda…” Tsukasa said.

“I looks… delicious!” Rui said examining the bottle.

“With the budget we have, We’ll have some money left over, I suppose we could get a bottle for you to—”

Tsukasa was interrupted by Rui putting back the bottle and actually coming back with… soda candy?

“Soda candy! I enjoy candy, and if soda is so good, maybe I'll enjoy these even more!” Rui beamed.

“Alright then, soda candies it is.”  Tsuaksa said putting the bag of soda candies in the cart.

Meanwhile… at the Tenma residence, we had two adorably fluffy intruders… one of them being allergic to their own fur.

“Shizuku~! Achoo~! Couldn’t you have chosen something else for us to disguise as? You know I'm allergic too— ACHOO~! Cat fur~!” Airi complained.

“But Airi-chan! This is the perfect disguise for us to get back our camera and sneak into the house” Shizuku explained.

“Achoo~! Fine! But next time I choose what we disguise ourselves as!” Airi said very annoyed by her allergies.

Shizuku started meowing at Saki’s window to get her attention.

Well, it sure worked.

“Hm? WOAH! OH MY GOSH YOU TWO ARE SO CUTE!” Saki said opening her window to let the cats in.

“Hm… I wonder why the both of you have such colorful fur… Well! Who cares! I'll ask but brother when he comes back if we can keep you both!” Saki said picking up the two cats in her arms and smiling warmly.

Well, that sure worked…

“Nene-chan! Emu-chan! Come see these two cats I found!” Saki called the pink-green duo to her room.

When they arrived, Emu looked excited! But, Nene looked a bit skeptical… their fur looked too familiar… too familiar to those of two sorceresses her mother had hired 2 years back.

“WOAHHHHHHHHHH!!! THEY ARE SO SO SO SO CUTEEEE~!” Emu squealed and rushed to play with the cats.

“Uhm… Saki.. Those two cats don't look a bit too… eccentric..? Not to mention their fur looks very colorful to be normal. I don't think pink and light teal-colored cats exist, right?” Nene said with a bit of suspicion in her tone.

“I guess… but aren't they cute? Look at them! I'll ask big brother if I can keep them when he comes back!” Saki said playing with the pink cat. 

“Fine… but knowing Tsukasa for the time I know him, I don't know if he will agree to it.” Nene said.

Her suspicion is totally understandable though! I mean, who wouldn't get suspicious of two very colorful cats!? But it's not like she is able to change Saki’s mind… at least not for now.

Meiko was in a room filled with mirrors. It was a room no one knew about, not even her own husband Kaito. 

“Hatsune? Come out. I need to talk to you.” Meiko called out.

Suddenly, in the mirror in front of Meiko, jesterkasa appeared.

“Sorry, I didn't have more work to do and I kind of like this disguise!” Miku said changing back to her original form.

“Would you like to explain why my son is now DATING that human!? I saw through the all-seeing eye, and you were supposed to make that dammed human fall out of love with my son!” Meiko said.

“And I did~! But that idiot is more stubborn than I thought. Besides, when he did fall out of love, you didn't set me free like you promised!” Miku complained.

“That’s because you didn't complete your job, don't forget you're only going to be free when those two are not together anymore.” Meiko said glaring at Miku.

“Ugh! I hate it when people don't fulfill their promises!” Miku pouted.

“Well, I'll fulfill my promise now.” Meiko said.

“REALLY!?” Miku beamed.

“But. I need you to do something.” Meiko said.

“Of course… what is it now?” Miku said looking at Meiko bored.

“I have two sorceresses infiltrated in the human’s household. They will start bringing both Nene and Rui by force back here. But I'm sure that human will fight them off. So I need you to control him. Take over his mind and make sure he won't fight back. And I'll let you make him break up with my son.” Meiko said.

“Oh? Mind control eh? That’s interesting… well then, I guess I could do it, but it will come with a price.” Miku grinned.

“Name your price.” Meiko responded.

“You will find out soon enough.” Miku replied with a sinister smile.

That smiled put Meiko off, but… she had no other option. It was either that creepy girl or let her children leave her grasp.

And she wasn't taking her chances.

Chapter Text

Tsukasa and Rui arrived home with at least 6 shopping bags in their hands. Were these guys secretly octopuses!? Anyways, they saw a new pink missile but this time, she had blonde hair but still had pink tips! That was fluting towards them with a light cyan cat and a pink cat in her hands.

”Big brother! Big brother! Look! Aren’t they cute!? Can we keep them!? Please!?” The Emu 2.0 asked.

HEY! I am not Emu 2.0!

Yeah, yeah, sure.

The second pink missile is annoyed at me, but we’ll go back to her later.

”Uhm… I’m not sure…? I mean, you should ask mom and dad first, no?” Tsukasa replied.

”But they are still in their business trip! We can tell them when they get here!” Saki beamed.

Well, there was no arguing with her I guess.

”Fine, fine… but if mom and dad tell us to abandon them, you can’t protest!” Tsukasa said.

”Okay thanks bye~!” Saki then zoomed to her room to play with the cats.

Tsukasa and Rui went to the kitchen to organize the groceries when Nene walked in.

”Rui… could I talk to you for a moment?” Nene asked.

”Hm? Sure. What happened?” Rui replied.

”I think it would be best if we spoke in private…” Nene said.

Tsukasa looked a bit confused but didn’t think much of it and continued organizing the groceries.

”Okay…” Rui said a bit suspicious about what Nene was going to talk with him.

They went to the dining area where it was empty and Nene began talking.

”Did you see anything suspicious about those cats?” Nene asked.

”No? They seemed perfectly fine. Other than the pink cat that was sneezing a lot for some reason.” Rui responded.

”Don’t they look oddly similar to… Momoi and Hinomori?” Nene asked.

”What do they have to do with anything?” Rui asked

”The fur! The fur is the same color as their hair and you know that when they turn into animals, their fur is the same color as their hair!” Nene whispered a bit louder to try and shove some sense into Rui.

”Not to mention, Momoi was allergic to cats and the pink one kept sneezing all the time!” Nene explained in that same tone.

”I mean… I guess your theory could be right. But I don’t think mom would go that far as to send them to spy on us… would she?” Rui asked.

”Its mom were talking about! That woman is capable of anything!” Nene responded with a slight tone of sarcasm. But she was right. It was Meiko and I think you all read the last chapter, right?

”Fine… I’ll keep my eye out for those cats.” Rui replied.

”Alright. Now go help your boyfriend.” Nene said letting Rui go back to his boyfriend.

Rui nodded and went back to help Tsukasa to find Tsukasa organizing the groceries a lot slower now… not to mention, Tsukasa looked like he needed to rest asap!

”Tsukasa-kun? Is something wrong? You look unwell.” Rui said approaching his boyfriend.

”Oh, it’s just a headache, don’t worry about it.” Tsukasa said beaming him a smile.

”You’ve done enough, you should rest and take some medicine for that headache.” Rui suggested, even though it felt more like demand then anything.

”But I’m almo—“ 

“No buts, go rest. You probably just haven’t slept too well” Rui demanded and added.

Tsukasa reluctantly sighed and complied to Rui’s request.

As Tsukasa left the kitchen, he felt the headache getting stronger by the minute.  He was too tired and his head hurt to much for him to walk up the stairs, so he just threw himself on the couch and tried taking a nap.

But… everytime he would close his eyes… that infamous, creepy, disgusting smile of the jester would flash on. But it wasn’t the jester smiling. Oh no! It was someone else! A blue haired, blue eyed girl with an outfit that resembled a jester with a crown.

Eventually, Tsukasa was able to take a decent nap but it wasn’t a deep slumber, it was more like a slumber that even the gentlest of touches could wake him up.

“Ugh! Where is that camera!?” The pink cat complained as she swam in plushies.

”Airi-Chan, quieter! Don’t talk too loud or you might attract attention!” Shizuku said while looking for it in other places.

”Achoo~! Don’t tell me to be quieter!” Airi complained again but with a big sneeze this time.

Shizuku slightly rolled her eyes before looking under the bed.

”Aha~! Found it! Come check it out!” Shizuku said scurrying over to camera.

Airi jumped off the bed and rushed to where Shizuku was. Shizuku opened the plushie and took out the camera to check the recording. Airi set up the camera to show what it has been recording all this time.

Recording…

”hm? Aw! How nice!”

”Wait… what’s that sticking out of his zíper..? A camera!? Oh heck to the no!”

The recoding then cuts to under the bed.

Recording ended…

”She’s smarter then we thought…” Airi sighed while repeating the recording again.

”This was pointless then… besides, queen Meiko is already asking us a ton of times of when we are going to attack.” Shizuku replied.

”She’s really impatient, huh?” Airi sighed as they put the camera back where it was under the bed.

“We should listen to her though… she looks and sounds impatient enough to kill is off in a second” Shizuku replied.

”Fine… let’s get ourselves ready.” Airi sighed annoyed.

Meiko could be really annoying and persistent.

Tsukasa woke up… not in the couch..? He woke up in his bed with his blinds closed shut and something embracing his body making him unable to move. But then he heard the breathing and when he took a look, he saw that it was Rui who was clinged to him like a leech… but this time he actually liked it, it was not like the jester did to him a while back, it felt warm and comfortable, and he wanted it to last forever…

forever…

this would never last forever… he knew that all too well.

Tsukasa wasn’t a vampire, he wouldn’t live forever and have Rui cling to him like that forever. One day it would end… he would be gone, dead. That’s a thought that lingered in his mind ever since he started dating Rui.

But Rui was a royal vampire and… royal vampires can turn humans into vampires with a single bite..! Maybe he could…

”Tsukasa-kun? You’re awake?” Rui asked

“Hm? Oh yeah, I am.” Tsukasa said. “What am I doing in my room? I remember blacking on the couch.” He said sitting up.

”I brought you here. You were sleeping like a contortionist on that couch so I decided to bring you here and cuddle with you.” Rui smiled softly. Ah… so that’s what happened. 

“I see…” Tsukasa said.

”You look like you have something on you mind, do you want to talk about it..?” Rui asked.

”Right… Right… actually.. I’ve been thinking about how this won’t last forever.. I mean, with the fact your immortal and all..” Tsukasa mumbled.

”So you want to be a vampire” Rui cut straight to the point! It was like he ready Tsukasa’s mind! Gay powers I swear…

”I mean..! Yes… But you don’t need to bite me now you know…” Tsukasa said.

”But do you want it? Because I’ll transform you without hesitation, y’know…” Rui said.

”I… do want it.” Tsukasa said with a glint of determination with his eyes.

”Are you sure..?” Rui asked as he slowly approached to Tsukasa’s head, to which to Tsukasa replied by tilting his head só Rui could have a cleaner bite.

Rui leaned forward… Tsukasa’s heart was racing just seeing Rui approaching his neck like that… but when he realized it again, Rui had already bitten down on his neck. He felt the venom that would transform me into a vampire slowly seeping in, and it felt… so good…

But that was when Rui was forced to pull away, thanks to an unexpected visitor.

”Big brother!” Saki said barging in.

Both of the men jumped in their place and looked at the blonde that had joined the group. “W- what is it, saki..?” Tsukasa asked while pulling is shirt colar to try and hide his fresh, new bite marks.

”I should have listened to you! Those cats are terribly wrong!” Saki said looking distressed.

”What.. happened..?” Tsukasa asked, a bit scared of the answer he would get.

“They aren’t cats…”

Alright… but just know I might make a joke here and there.

Your partner got possessed and someone got badly hurt, how the hell will you do jokes here!?

Tsukasa and Rui rushed to where Saki was leading them to find… Shizuku and Airi already trying to take Nene while Emu tried fighting back.

”Let go of her you witches!” Emu yelled as she tried making Airi let go of Nene.

”Shizuku…” Tsukasa said in shock as he looked at his childhood friend.

”Tsukasa..” Shizuku replied in shock as she looked Tsukasa up and down.

”Why did you leave!? Do you know how much your sister has been looking for you!?” Tsukasa replied a bit pissed off by the fact that Shizuku just abandoned everyone.

”I had too! I wasn’t happy being an idol! I felt fake for the camera and witchcraft always enchanted me..” Shizuku explained.

”Couldn’t you at least had told us you were leaving!?” Tsukasa asked.

”You would all beg me to stay! I couldn’t do that.” Shizuku replied.

“But you could’ve at least told us! I wouldn’t have minded, and I’m sure your family and friends wouldn’t ha—“ Tsukasa tried saying but was cut off by Shizuku 

“You think they would understand me!?” Shizuku snapped.

“They all thought ever thing was fine with me and that I was perfect! But in reality, I was nothing more then a fraud! I was not the perfect idol, very less the perfect person! Not to mention the fact I was the center for More More Fight! So the entire world thought my life was perfect and that I was perfect!” Shizuku added.

”But Shizuku-san! Shiho-chan has been worried sick! She’s in the vampire world right now searching for you!” Saki butted in the conversation.

”Yeah! God knows if she’s even still alive at this point!” Rui added also joining Tsukasa’s side.

”Shi-chan..? She’s at the vampire world..?” Shizuku looked too shocked to process that info.

”Yes! If she’s dead it’s your fa—“ Saki started speaking but was interrupted by a blast of energy shot out by Shizuku that knocked her out.

”Shut up..” Shizuku said.

”SAKI!” Tsukasa rushed to her side.

”What the hell!?” Rui said looking at Shizuku he had just killed his sister. I mean, it was his sister-in-law but anyways.

”Airi-chan. We need to be fast. I want to see my sister.” Shizuku said.

”Of course! I’ll be taking Princess Nene already.” Airi said about to leave, only to be stopped by Shizuku herself.

”No. Get Prince Rui first. He is next in line and Queen Meiko is more impatient about him at the moment.” Shizuku said.

“Fine…” Airi said and just as she loosened her grip slightly, Emu tackled Nene and Airi.

Tsukasa was trying to wake up Saki desperate while Shizuku could only look at them coldly, without feeling a single thing. Airi was trying to get out of Emu’s grip and Nene was able to escape. She rushed to her brother and said.

”Let’s go before they catch us!” 

“No. We need to help Tsukasa-kun and Emu-kun!” Rui replied.

”And I was supposed to be the merciful one..” Nene sighed.

”Love changes a person, I assume.” Rui chuckled.

After he said that, Rui rushed over to Tsukasa only to be stopped by Shizuku, being blocked by her staff.

”Don’t you dare. You’re coming with us, Prince Rui.” Shizuku glared at him.

“Over my dead body.” Rui glared back and slipped away to his lover that was holding his sister.

”SAKI! WAKE UP PLEASE!” Tsukasa yelled trying to hold back tears of worry from flowing down his face.

”Let me help you get her somewhere safe.” Rui said picking Saki up.

“Bring her to my room and lock the door!” Tsukasa said leading Rui to his room as Rui rushed behind him, hoping Shizuk wouldn’t start shooting magic at him.

Thankfully, that didn’t happen. But as soon as Tsukasa and Rui locked Saki inside Tsukasa’s room, Shizuku shot a blast of magic at the two lovers, who dodged by a hair follicle.

Rui didn’t even think twice before grabbing his own sword and starting to fight back. Tsukasa could only really watch from the sidelines since Emu looked like she was taking pretty good care of Airi anyways.

As Rui fought against Shizuku. He remembered when he learned how to sword fight…

Flashback.

”Good job Rui! Now try taking me down!” 

“Alright mom!”

Rui fought his best against his mother. She was going easy on his though given the fact it was her own son.

But then, Rui delivered the finishing blow and was able to get Meiko’s sword out of her hands. The kid was a prodigy in sword fighting! Even if he did beat her, he wasn’t supposed to know how to make his enemy loose their weapon in battle!

”I didn’t teach you that yet!” 

”Sorry! Sorry!”

”It’s fine! Don’t worry! I’m proud of you kiddo!”

”Really!?”

”Yup! And because of your progress, I’ll ask the cooks to put human blood on our dinner! We got a new supply a few days ago..” 

“Really!? Yay! You’re the best!” 

“Alright, alright~ now go get cleaned up for dinner.”

”Alright!” 

Flashback end.

When Rui came back to his senses, he realized he wasn’t fight Shizuku anymore. But instead… his own mother.

”..!”

”Hello, my dear son.” Meiko said.

Rui was in too much shock to continue fighting. Especially against his own mother. Meiko was able to get Rui’s sword out his hands and grab him.

”You’re coming home now.” Meiko said. 

That was when Tsukasa grabbed Meiko to try and get Rui out of her grasp.

”HATSUNE! WAKE UP!” Meiko yelled and Tsukasa immediately let go and held his head while having the worse headache in existence. 

“Tsukasa-kun!” Rui tried getting out of Meiko’s grasp but to no avail.

”Don’t forget who trained you, Rui. I know all your techniques.” Meiko replied coldly.

”Emu-kun! Go help Tsukasa-kun!” Rui yelled.

”But what about—“ Emu was interrupted by Rui.

”Ignore her!” Rui yelled and Emu complied as she let go of Airi and rushed to help Tsukasa.

Fatal mistake. Airi got up and grabbed Nene.

”Good job, Momoi. Let’s go.” Meiko said and Airi was about to leave.

”Wait.” Meiko said and turned to the head aching Tsukasa. “Poor human… don’t you have something to say to your lover?” Meiko asked with a condescending tone.

Tsukasa then got up, which left everyone but Meiko confused. 

Tsukasa looked up with the jester’s— or should I say, Miku’s smile. That sickening insane smile. It put everyone off. Emu stepped back a bit after noticing something else… Tsukasa’s eyes were teal now. Not their usual sunset orange..

“Oh my! I was wondering when you would finally call me! I was rotting inside his brain, y’know!?” Tsukasa said with the sick smile never leaving his face.

”Tsukasa-kun..?” Emu asked terrified as she tried reaching to him, only to be thrown almost half way across the room. Since when is Tsukasa that strong!?

”You..!” Nene glared at Tsukasa pissed.

”Well then my queen. Shall I begin put on my performance? After all…” Tsukasa said while dramatically bowing.

”The time to pay your price has arrived…”

“Price..?” Meiko asked completely confused.

”You know! The price everyone has to pay for my service!” Tsukasa said with a cheeky smile.

”Anyways, I guess I should put my acting pants on!” Tsukasa bowed dramatically.

”Tsukasa-kun… don’t tell me you were—“ Rui started to talk very hurt when he was cut off by Tsukasa.

”On queen Meiko’s side? Of course! She paid me a good sum of money to help with my sister and her treatments and you know… It could also help me with my—“ 

“YOU PHONY!” Rui yelled cutting Tsukasa off. He didn’t know that wasn’t Tsukasa, because he had never heard about this jesterkasa. Emu and Nene knew but Nene’s mouth was being taped so she couldn’t say anything and Emu was still recovering from being thrown across the room!

”Oh! And just so you know! I never loved you. I was just using you to escape the vampire world.” Tsukasa said as he started pacing around.

”I’m surprised you never noticed, the fake journal, the act, everything! I must be a damn good actor!” He added and began getting closer to Rui.

Meiko was grinning while standing behind Rui. Her plan was working, though, she felt guilty for hurting her son… just look at his face! He looked so hurt at the time, it’s almost making me shed a tear!

But no… she saved her son from those… pesky… parasites… mortal humans… But now, she needed to play the good mother.

”Oh Rui… I had completely forgot about that… after Tsukasa was able to hurt Toya, I knew he was meant for you and I did—“ 

“Cut the crap mom! I can’t believe you bribed him to play with my emotions!” Rui said able to get off Meiko’s grip.

“But… I needed too—“ 

“You didn’t need to do anything! You should’ve just let me and Nene live our lives how we wanted! Not be some over controlling strict mother!”

”I—“

”Don’t try justifying yourself! All of this has no justification!” 

“…” Meiko stayed silent… she never thought her own son would do something like this… but after this entire conversation? It was obvious she was wrong! She was being a bad mother to her children. She looked at Nene who had her mouth taped and was about to cry, then back at her son that looked like if she said anything wrong, he could slap her that instant.

“… Momoi, untape my daughter’s mouth.” Meiko ordered.

Airi complied to her orders and as soon as she  untaped Nene’s mouth, Nene yelled.

”THAT’S NOT TSUKASA! THAT’S JESTERKASA!” She yelled.

”Jesterkasa..?” Rui looked confused and Meiko looked scared.

”Hey! Don’t call me that! It’s rude to call an actor by their character’s name instead of their actual name!” Tsukasa replied.

”And did the little purple boy not heard of me!? I feel hurt! But… I guess I could do an intro…”

”My name is Hatsune Miku. The supreme apparition that your mother hired to destroy your relationship with your little boyfriend over here” Tsukasa pointed condescendingly to Meiko.

”What..?” Rui turned to Meiko now pissed again.

”Look! Look! I can explain…” Meiko replied.

Flashback

”Aoyagi! What happened!”

”It was Tenma! He did this!”

”That human! I won’t leave you like this! That human is NOT taking my son”

Meiko grabbed her stuff and started heading out.

”My queen, what are you doing!?”

”I’ll finish this off already!” 

”Be careful…”

Meiko headed out of the castle in a hurry. After sometime walking, she reached a cave with various mirrors inside of it.

”Peek-a-boo!”

”..! Are you..?”

”Hatsune Miku in the flesh! At least… I wish it was in the flesh. So! What does a poor vampire like you want from me?”

”Im the vampire queen! Don’t call me poor vampire!”

”Yeah yeah, whatever makes you sleep at night… so! What do you want?”

”I want— no, let me rephrase that… I NEED you to make the human that is in love with my son and is making my son fall in love with him, fall out of love.”

”So one feeling loosing thingy right?”

”Yes.”

”I think you’ve heard it by now but, it comes with a price y’know…”

”Name your price.”

”That’s how I like it! Okay, so I want you to let me be free!”

”… Just that?”

”Yeah! I’m tired of being an apparition!”

”… Deal.”

”Wow! You’re really desperate huh? Alright… take my mirror to your home so you can give me orders from there!!”

”Understood.”

Flashback end.

”So… you’ve been manipulating Tsukasa since the dawn village massacre..?” Rui asked slightly frightened.

”Yup! But… my job is done! I just need one final reward…” Tsukasa smirked and got close to Meiko, walking right past Rui.

”I think you remember me mentioning it, no?”

”Be freed from being an apparition? Yeah don’t worry, I’ll do it right now.” Meiko said as she glared.

”Oh no, not just that! I’m getting my second prize…” Tsukasa pulled out her sword. “Right” Tsukasa pointed it at Rui. 

“NOW!”

Silence fell in the room as Rui’s almost lifeless body fell to the ground, staining the floor in a crimson red.

”Bye!” Tsukasa said and his eyes faded back to his usual sunset orange.

He was confused… what happened? He looked around to see some of them looking at him with hate in their eyes.

”What.. happened!? I was fighting against Jesterkasa and—“ Tsukasa was about to start pacing around when he looked at Rui’s almost dead body.

”RUI!” Tsukasa yelled and fell to his knees.

”Tsukasa..kun…” Rui said weakly.

”Hang in there! Momoi! Shizuku! Queen Meiko! Anyone! Please help!” Tsukasa said as he was about to start crying and Nene went to try and comfort him.

”No. You killed him, Tsukasa-san. With your own hands” Shizuku finally spoke up.

”Have you been ignoring the past 20 minutes!? That wasn’t Tsukasa!” Airi yelled.

”I was taking care of Otori. I only saw Tsukasa stabbing Rui.” Shizuku replied.

”I know you’re an airhead but I didn’t think you were this much of an airhead!”Airi added.

”I.. I stabbed you..!” Tsukasa sobbed and hiccuped.

”No… No… it wasn’t your fault… not at all my star… I’ll never blame you…” Rui said trying to reach out to hug Tsukasa, but his body failing him.

“Momoi! Do something! Don’t let my son die like this!” Meiko yelled in distress.

”I- I don’t know how to do that! Neither does Shizuku!” Airi nervously said as fear washed over everyone in the room.

”So… this is goodbye isn’t it..?” Rui asked.

”Then, Tsukasa-kun… promise me one thing… I may be dying but please… put a smile on your face..” Rui weakly said as he mumbled “Im tired…”

”NO! NO! DONT CLOSE YOUR EYES! PLEASE! STAY AWAKE!” Tsukasa yelled in pain and suffering.

”Im sorry… my star…” Rui then closed his eyes and with his last breath, he was able to utter the words…

“I love you…”

He was gone… Rui was gone… He was dead… and it was Tsukasa’s fault..! Tsukasa Tenma killed his own lover… he… he felt disgusting..! He felt.. horrible! If Rui should die because of him, then he should die because of Rui. So he reached out for the sword and—

His sword got slapped out of his hands by Nene.

”Don’t you dare! My brother would hate you if you did that!” Nene sobbed.

”But I already killed him! Isn’t that enough pain already!?” Tsukasa yelled.

”Just don’t kill yourself you idiot!” Nene yelled back.

… She’s right though… he can’t kill himself. At least not now…

That was when Tsukasa felt something sharp in his mouth… it wasn’t a sword it was..! 

Fangs! Rui wasn’t able to get all the venom required to turn Tsukasa into a vampire but he was able to slip in just enough to make him a half vampire!

Oh… right. Rui was supposed to be celebrating that by his side right now… but he won’t. Maybe in another life….

Rui’s funeral… why did it feel so cold..? Sure, it was nighttime so that all vampire population could gather to mourn his death and watch the burial of his coffin, but something felt even colder in Tsukasa’s point of view. He didn’t know what, he didn’t know why. Maybe it was a depression setting in… no! A star can’t get depressed!

… But he was only a half vampire. He still had some form of human inside of him. He could only feel so much, but a depression wouldn’t be so weird for him to have right now.

”Tenma…” A soft voice spoke up. It was Kanade.

”Yoisaki..?” Tsukasa looked at Kanade s but surprised she was there.

”I’m so sorry for your loss…” She said sympathetically.

”No… You don’t have to sorry for anything. I killed him Kanade! I let myself be controlled by an apparition! Now look at him!” Tsukasa looked like he was at the brink of tears again.

Again?

It was Miku. Not him… we just didn’t know it at the time… 

Oh… That’s terrible!

But don’t worry dear, maybe something good will come from all of this.

”You… killed him? No… no, no… that’s not possible. I know you too well, you couldn’t have killed him! There is just…” Kanade was a bit in denial when she talked.

”He’s not lying. His body killed my brother, but it wasn’t him.” Nene said, joining in the conversation.

”Wow, way to comfort me.” Tsukasa deadpanned.

”I don’t really know how to comfort people. That’s the best I can really do.” Nene replied.

Damnit… why did Rui have to die? Why did he let himself be swayed by Miku..? Why was he so stupid? Why was he—

“Hello~!” The sickening voice echoes on his head.

It could still be in his head?

”Missed me?” Miku said forcing Tsukasa to turn around. It wasn’t jesterkasa anymore… she was free..!

”What..!? Why are you free!?” Tsukasa asked with indignation and disgust in his tone.

”It was queen Meiko’s promise after all! I forced her to do this after the whole… yeah… I left a nasty mark there didn’t I?” Miku asked with no remorse in her tone.

”You—!”

“Calm down! You don’t want to cause a scene at your boyfriend— I mean, ex boyfriend’s funeral, now do you?” Miku asked condescendingly.

People were staring at them as if they were mentally insane.

”Tch…” Tsukasa mumbled.

”Anyways, have a happy funeral! Bye, bye~” Miku smiled sickeningly and left.

”Tsukasa…” Nene called out.

”Hm?” Tsukasa tiredly looked at Nene.

”They’re going to lower the coffin now..” She mumbled.

”No..! I’m not ready for that!” Tsukasa rushed over only to be held back by Nene.

”I… I don’t want this either! But we’ve prolonged it long enough! Besides, if we don’t bury him already, it might be harder to let him go later.” Nene trembled slightly as she held Tsukasa back.

”I… you’re right..” Tsukasa said falling to his knees, not wanting to see Rui being lowered six feet under.

It felt cold, it was cold, after all, autumn was rolling around soon anyways.

The coffin was lowered and Tsukasa sobbed as Nene lowered next to him and offered his shoulder to sob. She wouldn’t be too much help on comforting given the fact she was in the same state as Tsukasa.

Raindrops started to get mixed up with tears and before they knew it, it started pouring.

They didn’t care, it was just sad watching Rui’s coffin being burried. Such thing had never been even imagined before.

The funeral ended and everyone went home. Nene forced Tsukasa to go home before he got sick, but since the human world was a long journey ahead of him, she talked with her mother and they both agreed to let Tsukasa stay in the castle for a while, at least until the five stages of grief were over.

“Y- You can stay in Rui’s bedroom. I’m not sure if that’s insensitive or not… I can comprehend human emotions anyways, but those were queen Meiko’s orders.” The blonde girl said.

”Understood. It’s completely fine, thank you Azusawa.” Tsukasa forced a weak smile out of him.

”Alright… F- Feel at home, Tenma-san.” Kohane bowed and left Tsukasa to organize his own thoughts alone in Rui’s room.

Tsukasa sat down on Rui’s bed. It surprisingly still had his comforting smell. That was sad to think about, so he got up and tried cheering himself up by taking a look at the messy papers on the desk. It was—!

Love letters he would never be able to give to Tsukasa…

”Tsukasa-kun,

You’ve brightened my days in every way you could’ve done it. I am so infatuated by you it’s sick. I wish I could say these words personally, but I’ll say them here.

Tears began wetting the letters. If only Tsukasa hadn’t been so stupid and left his mind open.

“So tell us, Mr. Tenma, you are the first half-vampire recorded in history, how did that happen?” The interviewer asked.

Tsukasa froze, he didn’t want to tell her the truth…

”W- Well… it’s not a story I am very proud of… I mean I am very proud of it! I just don’t like retelling it.” Tsukasa said. It was half the truth.

”I see.. Your fans all yearn to know the story behind your very existence, but if you do not want to talk, that is completely fine.” The interviewer said.

”Well then! This was one hour with Ayame! We’ll be seeing each other next week, see ya~!” She said and the interview ended.

As soon as it ended, Tsukasa went to his dressing room to get ready to leave when he heard a knock on his door.

”Excuse me? Mr. Tenma? Someone would like to speak to you..” His assistant said.

”Let them in.” Tsukasa responded in more of a monotone then before.

It was Kanade. She walked in and closed the door behind her.

”Tenma. It’s been a while.” She greeted.

”20 years… What is it?” Tsukasa said turning to face Kanade.

”You see… I have an offer.” Kanade extended her hand to show a potion.

”I made a promise to myself that I would bring Kamishiro back. After all you both have done to me, it was only fair I did this.” Kanade said mixing around the vial with the potion slightly.

“What is thi—“ Tsukasa was interrupted by Kanade.

”You see, when someone dies, their soul would reincarnate if their body completely deteriorated. Well, with that promise, I kept Kamishiro’s body frozen inside his coffin so that he wouldn’t deteriorate and so that I could take my time to try and save him.” Kanade explained.

”So… you’re telling me that if you pour that into Rui’s mouth, he’ll come back?!” Tsukasa looked shocked and was about to try and grab the potion.

”However… there is a price. As you know, us witches and wizards have a slight problem on our hands when it comes to casting spells like these.” Kanade got teu vial as further away as she could from Tsukasa so he wouldn’t grab it.

”What do you mean..?” He asked slightly concerned now.

”Someone would have to drink this. To bring Kamishiro back to life, someone needs to die. A life for a life.” Kanade said this part slightly sadder.

”But… I want to live so I can be with him…” Tsukasa stepped back, looking slightly depressed.

”Yes… That’s why, I’m explaining it very carefully to you. Does someone want to exchange his life for Kamishiro? Or would you do it? You don’t need to answer now.” Kanade said.

Those words hit him hard like a truck.

It was either sacrifice someone or do it himself…

He was considering sacrificing someone, but that would be too greedy…

Oh, why can’t this world be nicer to him…

“I’ll let you think over it. Don’t rush it, we don’t want you making a decision you will regret later.” Kanade put away the vial.

”Well then, I shall take my leave. Let me know when you’ve made your decision.” Kanade said then left.

Tsukasa now had a big decision in his hands… maybe too big. It was either live with the guilt of killing someone just to save the love of his life, or die himself.

Tough choice…

Tsukasa was at the vampire castle. Given he wouldn’t have anything to do in the next few days other then a movie next month, so he decided to take a vacation to the vampire kingdom and spend his time on the castle to visit Nene and Emu. After all, it’s been a bit. Even though he visits every time he has spare time, he can’t be with them all the time…

He arrived at around dinner time, Nene, Emu, Meiko and Kaito were sitting at the table waiting for the food to be served.

”TSUKASA-KUN!!! YOU’RE BACK!!” Emu shouted.

”Emu… please speak in a lower volume… you’re right beside me.” Tsukasa sighed.

”And this is coming out of the guy who used to be able to talk as loud as an ambulance.” Nene commented.

”I just had an… interesting day to say the least.” Tsukasa replied taking the seat across from Nene.

”Then what happened?” Meiko asked. That’s right, Meiko and Tsukasa are now on good terms after the whole… Rui situation. 

“The questions in the interview were a bit too… personal.” Tsukasa said.

”Ah. That’s understandable, you’re a celebrity. The world believes your life and past are up for display like it’s on the front window of a shop.” Kaito remarked.

”That’s not even the craziest part. Kanade came up to me after recording the interview to talk to me about something and she told me something that could make everyone happy but…” 

“What is it?” Meiko interrupted Tsukasa.

”Kanade is trying to bring back Rui and she found out how—“

“WHAAAAAAAAATTTTT!???????????!!!!!!!”Everyone yelled in shock cutting off Tsukasa again.

”So why isn’t he alive again yet!?” Nene asked in pure shock.

”That’s the thing! If he was already alive, I would be dead.” Tsukasa explained.

”WHATTTT!? W- WHAT DO MEAN!?” Emu asked almost having a heart attack. She is very expressive I have to admit.

”If I want to bring Rui back, I’d have to either sacrifice myself or someone else…” Tsukasa said in a quieter voice.

”Oh my…” Meiko uttered as everyone looked in shock.

Ah. The food arrived. Their plates and drinks were set in front of them and they began eating. After that? It was almost pure silence… but one thing was certain. They would be bringing Rui back whether they liked it or not.

Tsukasa finished eating and excused himself. He went up to Rui’s former room (but now Tsukasa’s) and just sat on the bed for a bit before deciding it would be best to not think about it and was trying to think of something to do.

That was when there was a knock on his door.

”May I come in?” It was Meiko.

”Go ahead…” Tsukasa sighed.

Meiko came in and immediately sat down beside Tsukasa.

”So, did Yoisaki give you a date until you tell her your decision?”

”No.”

”Then… Me and the others were thinking about it… what if we tried asking someone from out kingdom to sacrifice themselves?”

“Isn’t that too cruel?”

”But think about it!” Meiko got up and faced him. “What if we didn’t need to grief over someone!?” 

“But what about the people that will need to grieve for that person?!” Tsukasa replied, slightly shaken.

“… But Tsukasa… they would be willing to sacrifice themselves!”

”I won’t go through with it. It’s not what Rui would’ve wanted.”

”Then who will go for Rui!?”

“Me. I will sacrifice myself for him.”

Meiko froze for a moment before talking again.

”You aren’t serious… R- Right?” 

“I am. I’ll tell Kanade tomorrow night. You will have home back by then.” Tsukasa got up. 

“But you love him more than anyone in this world!”

“Exactly. That’s why, I’ll be telling Nene and Emu right now.” Tsukasa said and began to leave the room.

”W- Wait!” Meiko tried stopping him to no avail.

”Damn it… what an idiot…” Meiko looked down at the ground.

”I’m not letting him do that. I need to make up for what I’ve done to him in the past.” 

“Even if I die.”

When morning came, Tsukasa immediately decided to meet up with his parents and sister, who was now happily married to Ichika and in a band with Shiho and Honami named leo/need.

”You’re going to what!?” His mother yelled in shock as everyone in the room was either about to cry or about to yell at him.

”Tsukasa, isn’t he the guy that kidnapped you!? Are you going insane!?” His father yelled.

”Mom, dad, please calm down…” Tsukasa mumbled”

“First he kidnaps you, then he transforms you into a half vampire and now you are going to kill yourself to save him!? After all the hard work you put into your career!? Have some self respect, Tsukasa!” His father continued yelling.

”Dad! Calm down!” Saki said holding her father back from just going ballistic at Tsukasa.

”You don’t have room to talk to Tsukasa like that after how he’s been treated since I was born!” She continued.

”But it was for your own—“ 

Saki interrupted her father. “You left a child to fend for himself while taking care of me and only me! Sure, I was very sick and Tsukasa didn’t mind at the time, but now you and mom trying to defy his decisions after 38 years!? 38 years that both of you could’ve given him at least the minimum amount of attention that a child needs!” 

“But Saki… you were almost dying in that hospital! We had to give you all the attention you needed!” Her father argued back.

”You two stop it!” Tsukasa yelled as loud as he could, like an ambulance, and everyone in the room quieted down. “Saki, I appreciate your effort to try and show dad his and mom’s actions when I was a kid were… neglecting. But it’s not worth fighting over that right now. I’ve made my decision, and no one is stopping me from making it… I just hope you are all able to understand what I want.”

The whole room fell into an even more deafening silence as Tsukasa said those words. His father mumbled something under his breath and just went up stairs to clear his head. His mother however stayed and spoke.

Wait wait wait. [REDACTED 4] why did this whole speech sound like ——— ———— a main character from those y/n fanfics you see on the internet?

Im not sure what came over —— at that moment…

I just hope there aren’t any more of these during the story.

Anyways continuing, as I said, Tsukasa’s mom began speaking.

”I believe in your judgement… I just never thought something like this would happen to my own son… it’s honestly heartbreaking that I wasn’t able to spend more time with you, and I’m sorry I was a terrible mother to you, but I’ll miss you so much.” His mother then hugged him and Saki joined in, followed by Ichika, Honami and Shiho.

What a bittersweet memory to leave them in…

At noon, weirdly enough, he decided to visit Miku. She caused him a lot of torment, but she taught him some valuable lessons…

Miku lived in a house in the human city, in Shibuya, not far from his parents house.

He took a deep breath and rang on the door bell.

”Coming!” That voice said.

Miku answered the door, surprised.

”Hm? Tsukasa~? Interesting to see you here, y’know.” Miku said.

”Yeah, yeah. I have something to talk with you about.” Tsukasa wanted to leave as soon as possible actually.

”Then be my guest!” Miku smiled and let Tsukasa in.

Miku’s house was very uniquely decorated, from the lamps to the floor, everything was just colorful and slightly creepy, but whatever worked for her, I suppose…

Miku led Tsukasa to her dining room.

”Y’know, after that whole funeral for Rui, I actually changed. I gotta thank you actually.” Miku said.

”Me? Why would you need to thank me?” Tsukasa asked as he took a seat on her dining room.

”I had a few screws loose, and while I explored your mind, I started to realize my ways were completely wrong! So after that funeral, I decided to be a better person! I’m a lot nicer, I help people and I don’t use my powers to my advantage.” Miku smiled. Her smile was still creepy.

”Wow… really?” Tsukasa asked surprised but taking all that information with a grain of salt because… it was Miku after all.

”Yup! Anyways, do you want lunch?” Miku asked while setting the table for at least another 3 people.

”Uhm…” Well, if it was poisoned, Tsukasa had nothing to loose anyways. I mean sure, it would be bad, but if he died before, he could be with Rui in the after— no! Tsukasa Tenma! Focus, just tell her you’re going to die and leave! But then again… he was hungry. “Sure…” Tsukasa said with slight skepticism in his tone.

“Great! I’ll get you a serving then I’ll give the others a serving. It would be a bit uncomfortable for you to eat with the other apparitions.” Miku said going into the kitchen that was just beside the dining area.

”Other apparitions?!” Tsukasa asked even more surprised.

”Yup! There is Rin, Len and Luka! I’m just the one taking care of them until they are able to get freed.” Miku said serving Tsukasa some food.

”Wow… I never thought there were more apparitions like you. Also, thank you.” Tsukasa thanked for the food and waited for Miku to serve herself.

”It’s not problem~ Also, you came to me because you wanted something right? So tell me, what is it?” Miku asked as she finished serving herself.

”Well, I wanted to tell you something actually…” Tsukasa said.

”Then go ahead! We don’t got all day, right?” Was Miku reading his mind again?!

”Yeah. That’s because, Kanade found a way to bring back Rui, and that requires someone to die—“ And Miku interrupted Tsukasa.

”You want me to do it? Sure, as long as you take care of he other apparitions.” Miku said.

”No. it’s not that. I am the one killing myself to save Rui. And since you taught me so many lessons, even if not intentionally, I wanted to say one last goodbye.” Tsukasa said.

”Oh. That’s depressing. I didn’t think you would do that honestly… but I won’t stop ya.” Miku said really not caring for the entire situation.

”What? You aren’t stopping me?” Tsukasa asked confused. That’s was confused.

”Here’s another lesson. Do what you think is right. If you think killing yourself for Rui is right, then do it!” Miku said.

”Oh… I suppose you’re right.” Tsukasa pondered for a moment.

”I know it’s terrible that I’m telling you this, but it’s the truth! I won’t lie, that’s a brave act, y’know.” Miku added.

”I suppose it is. You have a way with words, geez…” Tsukasa sighed.

”But I’m telling you the truth. Maybe something good will come from you doing that! And since it’s our last chat, let’s enjoy it to the max.” Miku said.

Those words stuck to Tsukasa. Maybe something good will come? That’s interesting…

”Then fine. Let’s chat.” Tsukasa said.

Miku smiled and they began eating began eating and chatting.

Hm… something good will come? Rui will come back, so that’s already good, but what if..? No. That was hopeful wishing. Tsukasa should just enjoy the moment for now. After all, he is finally enjoying spending time with Miku of all people!

So would’ve thought…

That could’ve gone worse. Tsukasa said his goodbyes to Miku and headed back to the vampire world. Now there were faster ways to get from one city to another, so it was very convenient.

In the afternoon, after he arrived at the vampire kingdom, he went to weekend hideout now known as weekend garage where people would host events, singing battles and even some groups would just perform to get better at what they were doing! Today, luckily for Tsukasa, The re-formed and re-vamped More More Jump were at it! Now that Shizuku and Airi casted a spell on themselves, Haruka and Minori, they would never saturate or be forgotten!

On that day, both Akito and An were working while Toya was helping out and Kohane was working at the castle. She would come by later though.

Tsukasa sat down and An immediately came to greet him slightly worried.

”Tsukasa! Kohane told me about how there’s a way to bring back Prince Kamishiro! Is that true!?” An asked.

”Yes… and that’s actually why I came here. I already asked Emu and Nene to tell Kohane but I wanted to tell you, Akito and Toya personally.” Tsukasa sighed.

”Is it bad!? Akito, Toya, get your asses over here!” An yelled.

Akito annoyingly sighed and Toya just came without much questioning nor annoyance.

”What?” Akito said in his usual annoyed tone.

”Tsukasa has something to say, listen to him, will ya?” An explained and the other two fell silent as they were waiting to hear what Tsukasa had to say.

”Well… I’m sure you’ve all heard about how there is a way to bring back Rui… and how someone has to die to bring him back— I’ll just get straight into the point. I’ll be sacrificing myself to bring Rui back from the dead.” Tsukasa explained.

Everyone, and I mean everyone inside that cafe gets silent. Even the girls in more more jump that were barely able to hear anything from the crowd stopped to stare in shock. The music stopped (comical.) and the entire place erupted into the sounds of people talking about the situation in disbelief, shock and most importantly, sadness.

”what? Tenma is going to kill himself for our former prince?”

”Why didn’t he just pick out someone random to do it?”

”Is he going insane?”

”Is grief hitting him too hard?”

”If that’s not love, I don’t know what it is.”

“No way…” An and Akito said in unison.

Toya looked shocked as well but he decided to stay silent.

”Are you batshit insane!?” Akito yelled.

The girls in More More Jump got out of the stage and rushed to see what was happening.

”After all that happened you’re just going to kill yourself!?” Airi yelled in pure anger and confusion. Minori and Haruka looked worried.

”Isn’t there another way to bring him back? Without you dying?” Shizuku asked worriedly.

”Someone has to die, and I’m not letting anyone do it other than me. Besides, no one deserves to die because of something like this.” Tsukasa explained.

”I’m not letting you die for this idiocy!” Airi and Akito said surprisingly in unison.

”Yeah! You can’t just kill yourself to save the one you love— even though that sounds like an act of true love, it’s insane!” An replied.

The whole cafe erupted in protest and people angry that Tsukasa was willing to sacrifice himself for Rui.

”Your protests make you sound like you all don’t want him to come back.” Tsukasa yelled over them.

“We do… It’s just that, we know how much you love him and we don’t want you to die so he can live because we know what will happen.” Toya decided to speak.

He was right. If Tsukasa died for Rui to live, Rui would only get depressed and it would be a non-ending cycle. But he won’t change his mind. He is set on doing what’s right.

”I’m sorry. I’ve made my decision.” Tsukasa sighed.

”I respect your decision.” Haruka spoke which shocked Tsukasa.

”If you are set on doing that, there is nothing we can do to stop you, right?” She asked.

”Yes…” Tsukasa mumbled surprised.

”Then it’s settled. No one should meddle in your matters anyways. You will be missed though.” Haruka gave him a soft bittersweet smile as the tears she was holding back were revealed. That was when suddenly, a group of wt least 6 people pounced on him and hugged him tightly.

”We’ll miss youuuu!!!!” Minori sobbed.

Having to break these friendships he built over these past 20 years was too painful. He sighed and enjoyed that hug while it lasted…

Well, before Kanade and Mafuyu that were the last people he would tell he would do it, he still needed to say his goodbyes to two other people, Mizuki and Ena. Nene, Emu, Meiko and Kaito found out last night, his family and the girls Leo/need found out this morning, the girls in More More Jump, An, Akito and Toya found out this afternoon, so now, to finish off the day, he was going to tell Mizuki and Ena.

He went to the Akiyama manor where he was told that Mizuki and Ena were in the gardens enjoying the sunset. He hated to interrupt stuff like that, but since the guard at the entrance told him it was alright, he decided to go tell them anyways.

The gardens were filled by red roses, violets, and flowers Tsukasa didn’t even know the name of most of them!

He found Mizuki and Ena drinking some tea on the gazebo with the best view of the garden to the rest of the Vampire kingdom. Not as good as the Vampire castle… but still very pretty.

”Hm? Tenma!? What are you doing here?” Mizuki said excitedly surprised.

”Oh! Tenma, sit down, have some tea with us.” Ena invited.

”Ah… Thank you.” Tsukasa sat down and he had a bittersweet smile on his face. He couldn’t believe that the last thing he would drink would be tea while watching the sunset over the vampire kingdom.

”So, what brings you here?” Mizuki asked pouring him some tea.

”Well… Kanade found a way to bring Rui back—” Tsukasa said before being interrupted by the two people sitting near him  and almost spitting out their tea in shock.

”WHAT!?” They said in unison.

”That’s amazing! So, how do we bring him back?” Mizuki asked with their eyes shining.

“That’s the thing. Someone needs to die to bring him back… and I’ve decided… that I’ll be the one doing that.” Tsukasa explained and Ena then shouted in shock.

”Are you going batshit insane!?”

”Ahahaha! You’re brother said the exact same thing. But no, I’m not. And I just wanted to give you guys one last goodbye.”

”That’s because my brother has some brain and is not crazy like you are being right now!” Ena said.

”You can’t do that! Isn’t there any other way to bring back Rui without you dying!?” Mizuki asked worriedly.

”There is, but I would need to sacrifice someone to do that, and I can’t let that happen. So I’m doing it myself.” Tsukasa explained.

”… after all you’ve done for us and for yourself and this kingdom, you’ll just kill yourself for someone that will probably just kill himself to save you and keep it a repeating cycle!” Ena said.

Tsukasa took a sip of his tea.

”I suppose… but I’ll just ask Kanade to not let him do that. If I’m supposed to die, I’m supposed to be dead.” Tsukasa said.

”Why are you so stubborn?!” Ena yelled annoyingly.

”Because, I am in love with him, and I can’t live without him and it’s in my nature to be stubborn, so if I need to yell and argue like this with people, I will do so!” Tsukasa yelled back, which left both Ena and Mizuki in shock.

”… Then fine.” Mizuki sighing. “But at least finish your tea and enjoy this moment with us.” They said with tears being held back.

”Mizuki! Didn’t you—“ Mizuki interrupted Ena. “There is no convincing. You know that, you just can’t accept it.” Mizuki said.

”… Yes…” Ena mumbled, accepting defeat.

”Then let me at least do something.” Ena rushed inside and Tsukasa and Mizuki looked in confusion.

Ena came back with a sketch book and she quickly opened it. “Let me draw you before you go.” Ena said as she began scribbling.

”A- Alright…” Tsukasa said as he posed for Ena and Mizuki chuckled as a tear slipped out.

”This would’ve been so funny if it wasn’t so sad…” Mizuki said as more tears began to slip out.

And that’s how Tsukasa spent his last two hours being alive, being a model for a sketch, drinking tea and enjoying himself.

He would miss that a lot… at least Rui would enjoy it for him.

And so, night fell. He said his last goodbyes to Mizuki and Ena in tears, and on his way to Kanade’s house, he reminisced about his life. His life when he hadn’t met Rui yet, when he met Rui, when he blew up weekend hideout with Rui, when he saved Ena with Mafuyu and Rui’s help, when he started dating Rui… he didn’t want to think about what happened after he left the lake house.

He reached Kanade’s house… how nostalgic. This house was nostalgic to him. He got lost with Rui trying to reach dawn village and Mafuyu found them instead.

With one deep breath and a sigh, he knocked on the door. This was it. His last destination before his death.

”Come in!” Kanade’s voice said.

Then he opened the door to find…

Kanade and Mafuyu were helping someone up… someone familiar… could it really be… impossible… it was…

Rui. He was alive.

Chapter Text

Rui… Rui! 

“RUI!” Tsukasa yelled as he rushed to hug his beloved, almost throwing him back on the ground and taking both Kanade and Mafuyu with him. Thankfully, the two women let go of Rui before they could get tackled.

”Tsukasa-kun!” Rui said in relief as he hugged Tsukasa.

“Kanade… I’ll go tell the good news to the others.” Mafuyu said excusing herself.

”That’s perfectly fine. Go ahead.” Kanade smiled softly as Mafuyu turned to leave.

Tsukasa and Rui were hugging for… a while. 

They would start sobbing if they weren’t trying to be happy to be together again. Yet, they were at the verge of tears.

”How… How are you alive!?” Tsukasa asked as he finally let a tear run down his face.

“I don’t know! But I’m so happy!” Rui said hugging Tsukasa more tightly then ever.

”Actually… I can explain it to the both of you.” Kanade intervened.

Flashback!

The door of Kanade shack almost swung open in a flash.

”Miss Yoisaki. I heard there is a way to bring back my son.” 

It was Meiko.

”Your majesty.” Kanade curtsied. “Yes… but it comes at a very high pri—“

”No need to tell me. I am already aware. Just give me the potion. I’ll do it myself.” 

“But you’re going to die! And not to mention, I won’t be able to bring you back!” 

“I don’t care. I want my son back. I’ve done so many mistakes and caused so much suffering for him and his beloved… it’s the least I can do.”

“Are you sure you want to go through with it?”

”I am. Now hand me the potion.”

Kanade then handed her the potion… 

End of Flashback!

”Meiko, you stubborn pi—“ Before Tsukasa could finish his sentence, he banged his fist on the ground.

”I can’t believe it… My mother sacrificed herself to bring me back…” Rui mumbled.

”The things a mother can do for her child… But anywho, I would advise you to not leave the cottage just yet… it’s a safety precaution since you’re the first ever person that I’ve actually tried this spell on.” Kanade explained.

”I see… then that’s alright.” Rui said.

”Oh! Kanade, could I stay here with Rui in that room we stayed at last time?” Tsukasa asked.

”Of course.” Kanade smiled warmly. “It’s alright getting late, I’ll go make dinner, you two can get settled in.”

Tsukasa nodded and helped Rui get up the stairs to their room.

”Wait. Tsukasa-kun, are those… fangs?” Rui asked surprised.

”Yup! You may have not been able to bite me fully, but you bit me just enough to make me a half vampire!” Tsukasa beamed a smile.

”So that means… you won’t die! At least not so soon! I’m so glad!” Rui smiled. Ah, just how much Tsukasa missed that smile.

”But… I could always turn you into a full vampire.” Rui suggested.

”I wouldn’t mind…” Tsukasa mumbled.

”Then it’s settled! As soon as I recover, I’ll turn you into a full vampire, okay?” Rui asked.

”That’s perfect.” Tsukasa smiled. Rui never thought he would see Tsukasa smile with fangs.

“But cmon, let’s rest before dinner.” Tsukasa said opening the door to their room.

It was left untouched ever since Tsukasa and Rui had come around. Of course, it was clean for them to stay at, considering that if it was left untouched for twenty years, it would be problematic..

Tsukasa noticed the beds were separated like they originally were and he decided to put them together. After putting them together, he plopped down onto the bed.

“C’mere!” Tsukasa called out to Rui who immediately sat down on the bed then proceeded to snuggle with Tsukasa. That’s new.

”I have so much stuff to tell you.” Tsukasa said excitedly.

”Really? Tell me during dinner. Right now, I just want to enjoy your company.” Rui said, giving Tsukasa a peck on the cheek before cuddling with Tsukasa once more.

And so, with that, Tsukasa and Rui were finally reunited and they now live happily ever after, the end.

(Nene smiles at the kid)

It wasn’t the best story to tell you since you were still very young.

(Tsukasa walks in) 

Hey Nene, have you seen Rui? I’ve been looking for him everywhere! 

I was telling your child how you met your husband.

You didn’t finish it last night?

No! You and Rui did so many things that I had to stop at the part where he died!

So that’s why she was so curious about our story today…

Yeah, well anyways, get out, I’m trying to put your kid to sleep.

Fine then…

(Tsukasa leaves the room and walks down the hall to go to his room. Rui is sitting there, writing on a piece of paper)

There you are! I’ve been looking for your everywhere!

Oh, I was just here having ideas for our next play.

I see, well, what do you have in mind. We need something to present at that theater in Shibuya.

Well, we have so many plays in our roster already, I was thinking, why don’t we use one of our old ones?

What do you have in mind?

I was thinking about that one play we did a few years back..?

”Out of all the yous I chose you”?… Sure, why not?

It’s been a while since we’ve performed it.

Although, their story may have ended, a new story has begun. Another forbidden love? Another supernatural love? Only time will tell…

Walking to that rooftop, seeing that cardigan… it’s just like the legends said. Tsukasa didn’t believe in those however, did he..?

There was one question circling though his mind though… why did that feel so familiar?

Tsukasa braced himself to see if he would appear. If he didn’t, he would probably be very disappointed.

It has been seven years since the day Rui and Tsukasa met again… At least after Rui’s death that is. Tsukasa was now forty-six while Rui was one hundred and seventy seven. Tsukasa hadn’t aged up a day since the incident with Miku! They have recently gotten married after so long! Usually, vampires take ten to forty (give or take) years to get married, but thanks to Tsukasa, given he still wanted his family to see him getting married, they got married seven years after they started dating.

Now, they are on their honeymoon! Their honeymoon is taking place on a small town in the south, near the shore. The house was a bit further away from the town and it was just above a small cliff in front of the beach. Perfect for a honeymoon away from everything!

The sun was setting and Rui and Tsukasa were having a picnic at the beach, you know, those cheesy couple stuff… I’ll let it slide this time since they are at their honeymoon.

Tsukasa was eating a strawberry where the thought passed through his head. “Hey, Rui.” Tsukasa called out.

”Yes?” Rui turned to his beloved, wondering what he needed.

”Have you ever imagined what would’ve happened if on that day we didn’t meet? Or if I didn’t sacrifice myself in Saki’s place.” Tsukasa asked, grabbing another strawberry, dipping it in melted chocolate and eating it.

”Not really… but that’s something interesting to think about. The butterfly effect.” Rui placed a hand on his chin. “If you and Saki hadn’t gone to the castle on that day, we wouldn’t have met, ever.” He sighed. “And if you don’t sacrifice yourself in her place, she would’ve been dead by now. Or you would’ve been dead, because Nene pretty much saved you by convincing me that you should be a jester at the castle.” Rui added.

”True… Then there is also the possibility of me not having fallen in love with you.” Tsukasa said.

”That possibility would’ve old happened of you didn’t meet me, so that’s out of the question.” Rui then remembered something. “What if I hadn’t offered to run away from the castle with you?” Rui asked. 

“You would’ve been married to Akiyama, and I would still be your court jester.” Tsukasa said.

”Hm… That is true… I would be forced to marry someone even though I was already falling for you. That’s not a good thought.” Rui pondered. 

“I remember I cried to Shiraishi when it was announced that you were going to marry Akiyama.” Tsukasa chuckled.

“Did you now? I was too shy to complain to Nene about the situation because I thought she would just take my parents side… now thinking about it, I should have asked for advice instead to just suggesting for us to run away.” Rui laughed. “But if I hadn’t suggested that, we would still be at the castle… it would’ve been a pain. But at least we wouldn’t have blown up Ken’s hideout.”

“Oh my stars, I completely forgot about Ken’s hide out… I remember seeing Toya’s face as we ran away.” Tsukasa chuckled.

”And then we ended up at Yoisaki-san’s house and we had to save Shinonome-san.” Rui reminded.

”And turns out she was painting for Akiyama!” Tsukasa remembered.

The two vampires were having a really nice time remembering these moments from when they met. 

“Say, Tsukasa-kun, what was you favorite moment of this entire journey?” Rui asked.

”Of the entire thing? Until we met again? I’d say it was the day we started dating.” Tsukasa smiled as he stared at the sea. The waves softly crashing on the shore.

“That’s a good one. My favorite was our first kiss. Back when we were trying to do the play, I remember a few days earlier that you got injured badly so we had to stay on the remains of dawn village.” Rui didn’t take his eyes off Tsukasa.

”I remember! Out of all the yous I chose you… that one was pretty memorable to me..” Tsukasa looked back at Rui. “I remember Emu knew that I loved you back then and she was trying her best to help me fall back in love with you. It was hilarious.” Tsukasa laughed.

”Did she? So that’s why you guys were so secretive during the rehearsals, at that time, I thought you secretly hated me..” Rui replied with false sadness.

”I never hated you! Miku was just really… terrifyingly good at convincing people.” Tsukasa sighed.

“So you did hate me!? How cruel!” Rui continued with the false sadness.

”No! I was just!… you know what, forget it. I didn’t hate you, but I wasn’t in love with you anymore. That made me sad, depressed even. But it’s all over now, we can’t keep going back to the past, can we?” Tsukasa reminded.

”You’re right, what’s in the past, stays in the past.” Rui smiled. “Say, would you accompany me on one last stroll around the beach?” He asked.

”It would be my honor.” Tsukasa smiled back.

Rui got up and offered his hand, to which Tsukasa took and got up soon after.

”We can clean this up later, for now, let’s just enjoy the end of the sunset.” Rui suggested, locking his hand with Tsukasa’s 

They first walked to the shore, where the water was shallow enough to walk on, then they went to the left, taking in the beautiful sun that was setting just as the sea touched the sky (the horizon, lets be poetic, please.) 

They walked around the beach for a while until the sun had completely disappeared and now there was only a beautiful pink hue in the sky.

”We should head back, it’s getting late and we left our jackets at the picnic.” Rui said.

”Oh! Right, let’s go.” Tsukasa smiled and they turned back and left.

When they arrived where they had left their picnic stuff, they started packing up to go back to the house.

Back at the beach house, they put everything back in place and collapsed on the couch. Tsukasa looked up at Rui and asked. “Can we cuddle?” He moved closer to Rui.

“Sure we can, my star.” Rui leaned closer to him and started to cuddle with him.

The two sat close together and the writer is not good at writing romance for some fucking reason. So basically, and summarizing this, they cuddled until they received a phone call from someone, Emu and Nene!

Rui lazily grabbed his phone and answered the video call. “Hey…” he said.

“HI RUI-KUN!!” A squeaky voice said. That was definitely their favorite pink missile…

”Shh! Be more quiet! Rui sounds exhausted so they probably had a long day.”

”Let’s call them tomorrow, okay?” Nene asked.

”Okay~! Bye Rui!” Emu said and turned off the call.

”Well, that was fast…” Rui said.

”Tsukasa-kun—“ He looked down and saw that the blonde had already fallen asleep in his arms. Rui didn’t want to wake him up, so he just snuggled closer and went to sleep himself.

And they literally slept on the couch, cuddling eachother until the next day.
