Work Text:

"Gege , you're going to come right?" His cousin cried on the phone, "Renjun -ge , please come."

Xiaoting's sobs echoed inside Renjun's room. He put her on speaker mode as he was not yet done with packing his clothes for his flight.

He'll be coming back to South Korea to attend his cousin's wedding which is tomorrow and his flight is in three hours. To be fair, it was a last-minute decision. He didn't want to attend a wedding full of false pleasantries especially when his dear cousin was the subject of it all.

"Xiao mei , please stop crying." Renjun could only sigh. He was miles away from her and he could only console her through the phone for now, "I told you I will come. Don't cry too much or you'll look ugly."

Renjun cracked a joke but it didn't seem funny enough since Xiaoting cried even more, "I'm never ugly! You are ugly if you don't come tomorrow and stop my wedding!"

A sigh escaped Renjun's mouth again. He zipped up his single suitcase containing only one set of clothes and his wedding gift for the groom and bride tomorrow. His return flight to China was scheduled the day after the wedding, he didn't plan on staying in SK at all.

"You know I can't do that or all the elders will faint on the spot." They've had this conversation countless times already but in the end, it will all boil down to nothing.

Even though it's already modern times, the Huang family never left their traditional ways. The men in the family will be the head of the family while the women are married off to other wealthy families.

Xiaoting was only 18 when she was engaged to the man she'll be marrying tomorrow. At that time, Renjun was only a college student who could not do anything to protect his cousin.

Five years later, Xiaoting was finally marrying the man she was engaged to while Renjun was held as CEO of one of the major subsidiaries of their company last month.

Renjun had power now but it was still useless when the health of his dear grandfather was on the line.

"Xiao mei , I'll help you in whatever way I can so you can get through this marriage and have a divorce as soon as possible, okay?"

It was the only thing Renjun could offer and Xiaoting knows that. His cousin let out a sob once more but was a lot calmer when she spoke again, "Ge , can you sing me a song?"

Renjun hummed in agreement that Xiaoting let out a small 'yay'.

"I keep thinking of Taylor Swift's Speak Now. Would you sing that for me?"

"..."

"Please?"

"I would not be the Taylor Swift of your wedding."

Xiaoting giggled cutely before urging him to sing again. They talked more after that until Renjun had to go to the airport.

"Have you said hello to your grandfather?" Renjun's mother asked him the moment he got out of the car that fetched him from the hotel. He only had time to sleep for an hour before we woke up to prepare for the wedding.

That didn’t stop him from dressing all out for the event. Wearing Saint Laurent’s draped blouse in twill, Renjun contemplated for a while if he should wear an undershirt or not. He eventually decided against it since it must not be allowed in the church. He’s just glad he went to the salon in China to get his white blonde hair fixed so he didn’t need to do anything now aside from brushing it.

It was getting longer on the back but he liked it just like that. His curtain bangs framed his face nicely. He’s not one who’s obsessed with how he looks but he’s glad he’ll look good in his cousin’s wedding.

The invitation didn’t specify any theme for the wedding but when he entered the church, he was welcomed by guests, mostly businessmen, dressed in black suits and all. A bit tasteless, if they’re going to ask him.

The Huangs occupied the left front rows of the area while the groom's family occupied the opposite. The wedding is set to start in an hour and the groom has yet to come.

Renjun nodded at his relatives while he made his way to the second row where his grandfather was standing.

"Grandfather." Renjun greeted and the elder only nodded at him. It was a better reaction than what he thought he would receive.

Despite his age, his grandfather's presence still stood tall as the family's pillar. However, little Renjun knew another side of him from his childhood to his teenage days. His loving grandfather who has always spoiled him since he was young now wouldn't even spare him a glance.

It was his fault, of course.

His grandfather who would give him everything in the past became someone who's disappointed with him and that's something that Renjun doesn't want to happen again now that he's gained his trust back.

He stood beside his grandfather without looking at anything else.

"I'm just here to support  Xiao Mei's  wedding." He flinched at how small his voice came out but he hoped his voice didn't sound too sad.

Renjun didn't even bother to take in all the decorations in the church. Everything inside the church right now is a product of an arranged marriage— beautiful but fake.

It didn’t take long before ‘he’ arrived.

"The groom is here!" Someone from the entrance shouted. Heads were turned as they tried to look at the person entering the church while Renjun kept his head straight.

Rather than Speak Now, Renjun thought Satisfied from Hamilton would be a more appropriate song for him.

Na Jaemin.

All eyes were on him except Renjun's but Renjun didn't need to see him to be able to imagine how good he looked.

A face that can capture anyone's attention in one single look. A charming smile that can brighten up the whole room. Na Jaemin probably looked so handsome in his suit and slick back black hair, walking on the red carpet like the main character he is.

At least that was how Renjun used to imagine him as his groom.

He almost hid behind his grandfather like an instinct he obtained when he was young. When scared, go behind grandfather. When sad, go behind grandfather and ask for a hug. Now he could do neither.

Renjun didn't know how many minutes had passed with him just staring into nothing when finally, someone announced that the bride was here.

His beloved cousin was here.

'She floats down the aisle like a pageant queen.'

Indeed, Xiaoting is walking down the aisle in her beautiful white dress. A stunning woman, perfect for a man like Na Jaemin.

'But I know you wish it was me

You wish it was me

Don't you?'

And despite fighting the urge to glance at Na Jaemin the whole day, Renjun finally relented.

His eyes found their way looking at the person in the front, expecting to see eyes already looking at him like how they used to.

Renjun used to search for Jaemin’s eyes only to find the latter already looking at him with loving eyes.

Except everything is not how it used to be three years ago.

Jaemin's eyes were already looking at his bride and not at Renjun.

But of course, why would you look at someone else aside from your bride during your wedding day? Especially someone who broke your heart without mercy?

This isn't Speak Now.

Speak Now involves two people who love each other despite the other one being married off to another person.

Love used to exist between Renjun and Jaemin.

But that love was gone the moment Renjun chose to protect his peace.

That love was gone three years ago, under the streetlamp outside Jaemin's house where Renjun claimed he does not love Jaemin anymore.

At least Jaemin's love was probably gone after Renjun left him kneeling like a fool, making him believe that the love he felt for him was just like a fever dream— gone the moment he woke up that day.

His was still here, present in his heart while he waited for Jaemin to be wedded to Xiaoting. The only comfort Renjun could cling to was the fact that Jaemin would be in good hands.

He also would never forget the hate he saw in the eyes that used to stare at him like he was his world.

"You said you would fight for us..."

"Jaemin, you believed all that? What kind of wishful thinking is that?" He couldn't even look him in the eyes. "I'm sorry if I hurt you but I just couldn't pretend I love you anymore. I'm sorry for... for giving you false hope. I'm sorry."

Saying he doesn't love him anymore was easier than saying he broke up with him because his grandfather knew about them.

Saying he didn't love him anymore was easier than admitting he couldn't handle his grandfather chasing him away if he pursued their relationship.

He couldn't handle another situation wherein his grandfather almost couldn't breathe from anger.

Renjun could survive a heartbreak, hopefully, Jaemin can too.

It was one of his greatest regrets in life. He entered Jaemin’s life only to ruin it.

Maybe if he didn't exist in their story, Xiaoting and Jaemin could be happily marrying each other now.

Maybe if he didn't interfere, at least Xiaoting wouldn't be so sad marrying a man she doesn't love.

Maybe if he hadn't replaced Xiaoting in her supposed first meet-up with Jaemin, they could've fallen in love with each other.

Xiaoting was a lovable person. Kind, beautiful, and understanding. A woman that anyone could easily fall in love with.

Jaemin?

Falling in love with him felt like breathing for Renjun. It was natural and easy like it was meant to be.

Both people were easy to love. Renjun thought they would eventually fall in love with each other and have kids together if they’d like.

Although Jaemin mentioned he didn’t want kids. Cats were better.

He could be the forever single rich uncle of Jaemin and Xiaoting’s kids.

Wow, that stung.

They were 20 and 21 when they first met, 21 and 22 when they got together, and 23 and 24 when they broke up. Now they’re 26 and 27. Two years of relationship and three years have passed but Renjun still hasn't moved on.

Their relationship lasted for only two years but for Renjun, moving on was eternal. He never moved on until now and he will never move on in the future too. It was a conscious choice for him.

"Should anyone present know of any reason that this couple should not be joined in holy matrimony," The words he had sung just a night ago came through his ears. Renjun looked up at the couple who were facing the priest who spoke the words as a part of the marriage ceremony,  "Speak now or forever hold your peace."

There's the silence, there's my last chance

This isn't Speak Now. This isn't his chance.

The whole crowd was silent and so was Renjun.

I stand up with shaky hands, all eyes on me.

He did not stand up from his seat and no one was looking at him.

"Renjun," He was pulled out from his reverie when he felt a hand on his back, "I've been harsh to you, wasn't I?"

Renjun glanced at his grandfather and was met with a straight face but with visibly kinder eyes he used to look up to when he was a kid.

"Renjun,  baobao , you're still a crybaby up til now. Stop crying would you?" His grandfather reached up a handkerchief to wipe the tears on his face that he didn't even realize was flowing. "It hurts to see my precious grandson suffering like this."

Renjun didn't speak but his grandfather slowly pushed him forward, "Go ahead and do what will make you hurt less, Renjun."

Their actions didn't escape the eyes of the guests. Or more like, his grandfather never left people’s eyes. He’s always at the center of attention– and that was his future fate.

His eyes were hesitant but his grandfather pushed him to stand up once more.

Renjun opened his mouth and said, "Please stop the wedding."

Horrified looks from everyone in the room

But I'm only looking at you.

And finally, the groom looked at him.

I am not the kind of girl

Who should be rudely barging in on a white veil occasion

Jaemin faltered and that was all Renjun needed to speak more.

But you are not the kind of boy

Who should be marrying the wrong girl

"This wedding should be stopped. The two people in front of you are both victims of an arranged marriage. There is no love between them and forcing them to marry each other is defeating the purpose of sacred marriage—"

"Renjun!" His mother cried, Xiaoting's mother visibly fainted in her arms but Renjun didn't care.

"There are other ways your filthy businesses could unite aside from using marriage!" His voice was ringing in the whole church but he didn't care. Xiaoting was looking at him in shock, not expecting that he would fulfill her request even though it was for another reason. "Auntie, Uncle, Xiaoting is just twenty-three. Please, don't do this to her."

In just a few steps, he was already in front of the two. Renjun immediately reached for Xiaoting's hand and hid her behind him. Despite the shock, his cousin was calm. Renjun, on the other hand, was trembling. He was supposed to offer Xiaoting comfort but instead, it’s the other way around.

Aside from his side of the family, the Na family has been really quiet on the other side.

Renjun slowly turned towards them before bowing deeply, "I apologize for my actions but I am hoping for your understanding. Xiaoting and Jaemin should be free from this forced arrangement."

Collective gasps and murmurs but Renjun is hearing none of them. His heart was in his throat but he made his decision already. He clutched Xiaoting's hand on his left while he slowly turned to look at Jaemin who had been quiet from the start.

"I'll take responsibility for my actions.” Renjun swallowed thin air, “I'll marry Jaemin instead...if he wants."

And there he was, looking at him with an unreadable expression but all Renjun could think was how he missed him so bad.

The silence that followed his proclamation was deafening but it couldn't beat the sound of his heart.

Renjun held out his hand, heart aching at the thought that it would be left ignored, like how he didn’t reach for his hand back then.

Jaemin stared at the hand being offered to him.

Seconds passed but it felt like hours to Renjun. He could've stormed out of the wedding hall with Xiaoting but he hoped Jaemin would come with them too.

He hoped he would come with him too.

He hoped he would accept his proposal but even if not, he hoped he would leave this damned wedding with him too.

Jaemin didn't budge. He stared at Renjun's hand and back at Renjun's face.

Last time, Renjun ran away alone. Now he's asking Jaemin to run away with him. What if…

Why didn't he consider Jaemin's feelings?

What if Jaemin wanted this wedding to happen?

What if in the three years he was gone, Jaemin developed feelings for his bride-to-be?

The thought of it caused another burst of tears from Renjun's eyes which he didn't know about.

"Tch."

And before he knew it, Jaemin grabbed his hand and dragged him together with Xiaoting. The three of them, half-walking half-running on the red carpet that will lead them outside the now chaotic wedding.

When Renjun came back to his senses, he sprinted until he was the one dragging the two of them.

Renjun let out a chuckle.

He crashed a wedding like how it was in the song but somehow, he ended up running away from the aisle with both the groom and the bride.

Taylor Swift couldn't have imagined this.

They ran and ran until Xiaoting pulled them to a stop (they didn't get far).

" Ge , can I have your shoes? I really can't run with these heels."

Renjun removed his shoes using the hand Xiaoting let go of. Once his cousin wore his shoes, he was left with just socks. He was lucky enough that the concrete outside the church was smooth.

"Okay, you see, I really gotta go. I'm sure you two will be fine, right? Bye!" Xiaoting sprinted away so fast that Renjun got worried until he saw the group of bridesmaids waving towards Xiaoting.

Now he's left with Na Jaemin whom he couldn't even look in the eye.

Renjun was only wearing socks and his face was probably messy from all the crying that he just wanted to stand there dumbly and wait for a divine retribution.

"I'll marry Jaemin instead...if he wants."

And why the hell would Jaemin want to?

He probably only went out with them to save himself from the embarrassment of being abandoned at his wedding.

It became more obvious when Jaemin removed his hand from Renjun's clutch and suddenly, Renjun felt empty.

He could've said something else earlier, why did he suddenly offer a marriage proposal? In front of everyone, too. He could've said some other things that could appease the people who will inevitably be angry because of his actions.

Asking the groom to marry him was not in Speak Now.

Renjun was pulled out of his inner turmoil when he felt a hand touch his chin.

"You're still a messy crybaby," Jaemin commented as he moved Renjun's face towards his direction. A white handkerchief found its way to the latter's face, gently wiping the tears stain away.

Renjun just stood there and let Jaemin do the wiping while he basked from the comfort he gave. He'd been yearning for this for years. Now that he had a taste of it again, he didn't want to let go. He stared and stared at Jaemin, trying to find if there was anything that changed from what he remembered 3 years ago.

Maybe he should cry again so Jaemin would need to wipe a lot more tears.

"I'm sorry for ruining your wedding."

"It's okay, it's not the only thing you ruined for me."

Renjun felt like he was slapped in the face.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ruin it." His lower lips trembled and Jaemin didn't miss it, "I didn't plan it. But grandfather..."

"If you didn't mean to ruin it, then fix it, Renjun."

Jaemin finally looked him in the eyes, "Fix it, Renjun, or I'll go insane the second time."

Words were not working for Renjun.

"I'll go insane if what you said earlier was false hope again." Jaemin held his face, gentle as he always was, eyes cold but with a hint of desperation. "I know how much of a fool I am when I started believing your words the moment it left your mouth today even though you told me a bunch of shitty lies the last time we talked."

Words were not working for Renjun so he didn't speak. However, he had a lot he wanted to say. He felt like he was about to burst but no words were coming out of his mouth so instead, he did what he used to do when words failed him when he wanted to express his love for Jaemin.

Renjun pressed a chaste kiss on Jaemin's lips, arms automatically slinging on the latter's neck.

Proper response be damned, he was feeling too emotional for any words right now.

He was guilty of all the lies he told Jaemin. He was guilty of all the pain he brought to Jaemin. He knew all of it but he didn't do anything back then.

Renjun was a coward and Jaemin was not a fighter.

They were young and reckless, entering a relationship despite knowing it might not work in the end.

But the love was real.

Jaemin's lips were still soft like they used to be. He didn't respond to Renjun's kiss but the latter was insistent, pressing another one until Jaemin finally chased his lips back.

He was not good with words but Renjun hoped it was enough of an answer, a guarantee for Jaemin, that the words he spoke earlier were all true.

It was not enough.

Their make-out session outside the church was cut short when Renjun's phone started ringing. He ignored it and continued to deepen the kiss with Jaemin, frowning when the latter disentangled with him to check the phone in his pocket.

"Your mom is calling..."

"Decline it. Jaemin, please..." Renjun’s eyes were hazy, mind puddled in a mush because of the kiss. He was not aware of the pleading face he made towards Jaemin.

"You..." Jaemin's other hand was still on Renjun's waist, keeping him in check while he moved to answer the call of Renjun's mother.

"Hello, Auntie. This is Jaemin... Yes, he's with me, I'm sorry... I think he can decide for himself regarding that... I'll bring him home first, I'm sorry for the mess we created but... No, I will. Let's talk about this once everyone is calm, let's rest first... Thank you."

And that was Jaemin's cue to lift Renjun like a potato sack which elicited a yelp from the other.

Renjun was only wearing socks so it was kind of Jaemin to carry him but couldn’t he do it bridal style or something?

The drive away from the church using the wedding car Jaemin was supposed to use after the wedding was really fast but quiet. Renjun had all the time to admire Jaemin’s side profile while the other drove with only one hand on the steering wheel and one hand subconsciously touching his swollen lips which was Renjun’s masterpiece.

Renjun refused to tell Jaemin where his hotel was so Jaemin had no choice but to bring him to his own.

Wearing Jaemin's clothes, Renjun looked content as he sipped the hot chocolate Jaemin made for him while the latter was showering. His ex's scent was on him and he never felt at home.

Renjun bit his lips as he opened his newly charged phone because he was already an adult who had to take consequences for his actions.

Asleep, with his phone clutched on his chest, was how Jaemin found Renjun an hour later after he took his time in the shower.

He had to take a cold one too, so that he could think deeply about what happened, what he did, and why he still keeps wanting Renjun back in his life despite all the things he did.

Jaemin has always been a hopeless case for the eldest child of the Huangs.

He knew the reason why Renjun left him. They were young, but he was not dumb. They have already been trained since they were kids on how they will handle their family’s business in the future and that includes investigations.

It was not hard to know that his grandfather had people tailing them on their dates. It was not hard to know that the health of Renjun’s grandfather became the reason Renjun left him.

Still, he resented him. He was going to make Renjun pay for all the hurt he caused him.

He was going to marry Xiaoting and live in China near Renjun. Jaemin will help with the merge of their businesses and then he will make Renjun’s life miserable after that.

He doesn’t know how but he decided already that he will.

Jaemin will get back at Renjun for breaking his heart.

But how will he do that when three years later, he’s still here wanting to hold the older one in his arms while he sleeps?

“I won’t go back to China.” Renjun was adamant about staying on Jaemin’s hotel bed. He woke up from his alarm that he forgot to turn off yesterday because he was supposed to prepare his luggage to fly back to China today.

Jaemin looked at him like he had grown another head, “A driver from your family will fetch you here and bring you back to your hotel.”

“No!” It was like he was back to his teenage stubborn years, “I’ll cancel it, I won’t go back there.”

“Then, by all means, extend your stay here in this room.” Jaemin suggested as he buttoned up his white polo, “I’ll check out an hour from now.”

Renjun was embarrassed when he realized what Jaemin was talking about. In the end, he went back to his hotel while Jaemin… he didn’t know.

They went their separate ways in the lobby and before Renjun even had the chance to speak, Jaemin was already driving away.

He was just lucky he didn’t need to deal with the huge aftermath since his grandfather had done it for him already. Renjun wouldn’t stop thanking him through the phone that his grandfather just ended the call saying, “Let’s talk over a cup of tea once you can bring Jaemin with you. Win him over first.”

Renjun was delighted.

Then he panicked. How do you win someone’s heart? By courtship?

He never courted anyone. Does it count as courtship when you kiss the other person right after your first dinner date? It was like that with Jaemin and him. They just clicked immediately.

Renjun wanted to ask Xiaoting for advice but his cousin was already posting instagram stories of her on a vacation on a beach somewhere with her friends. Her last message was,  “I owe u my life, gege. I will design ur house for u and that’ll be my marriage gift to u two mwa”

And then she was on DND.

Donghyuck: just buy a ribbon and wrap it around ur neck. ur the best gift Mr. Na could ever had 😘 also dont forget to meet up w me before u go back to China u ungrateful person!!

In the end, Renjun resorted to what he was used to: gift-giving. He spent all day browsing online shops on what he could give someone as rich as Jaemin who probably has everything he wants already.

Maybe he really should just present himself as a gift.

And maybe he should've used his head before barging inside Na Corporation's building without any prior arranged appointments.

"Mr. Na doesn't like his time getting wasted so he… so he scheduled meetings for the days h-he was supposed to be on honeymoon but since the wedding was canceled…"

The intern looked like she was about to cry so Renjun just smiled at him, "No worries, I'll just wait here. It's okay, right?"

"Yes, but Mr. Na wouldn't be free until 5 p.m." Renjun nodded.

It was his fault for not asking beforehand but he wanted to surprise Jaemin. Now he looked dumb carrying a bunch of roses and a huge pink rabbit plushie that he thought looked like Jaemin. At least the sofa was soft.

"Why didn't you make him stay inside my office? Really? Here in the lobby?"

"I'm sorry, Mr. Na. I didn't know…"

"You could've at least called me."

"Hyung, no one could've predicted this, okay? It's time for them already, let your secretary go…"

"You're right. Sorry, Miss Choi. But please, next time Renj— Mr. Huang comes here in the office, you have to contact me immediately, got it?"

Renjun didn't realize he had fallen asleep. He was just woken up by the noise that they were making but the conversation was so good that he chose to pretend to be still sleeping. The huge plushie served as a good pillow too. Renjun wished he didn't lie on the bouquet of roses.

" Hyung , should I wake up Renjun- hyung ?"

"No, let him sleep."

"Then I'll carry him to your off—"

"Why you? Go home, Jisung. I'll take care of him."

"Are you sure?"

"Why wouldn't I be sure?"

"Well you've been upset for days because he hasn't contacted you despite saying—"

"Go home!"

There were some scurries of a person here and there and then the noise was gone.

Upset for days because Renjun hasn't contacted him? It's been two days, and it was all spent with him trying to look for the perfect gift!

Renjun tried to suppress the giddiness he felt from the possibility that Jaemin was waiting for his move.

He felt a hand touch his forehead and then he was being lifted. Jaemin finally carried him to a bridal style.

"You're awake." Jaemin stilled when Renjun slung his arms around his neck and buried his head on his shoulders. "Get off if you're awake already."

"No. I waited for you for hours, I deserve this."

"I waited for you for three years, do I deserve this?"

Renjun bit Jaemin's shoulder and tasted his suit. It didn't taste good but at least the suit smelled nice.

Jaemin sighed and started walking when Renjun resumed pretending to be asleep. Once they were inside, Jaemin tried to put him down on the sofa but Renjun held on for dear life.

"Get off, do you think you're easy to carry?"

"I'm not but I know you can. I can feel your muscles through your suit. I know Donghyuck told me you've been a gym rat for years already but I didn't expect—"

"You've been talking to him???"

"So what I am saying is—"

Jaemin was strong but Renjun was stubborn. Jaemin ended up sitting on the couch with Renjun sitting on his lap and still clinging to him.

"You look so hot in a suit." Renjun smiled (cutely, he hoped) at Jaemin who resigned to supporting his back and holding his waist.

"Why are you here?" Jaemin asked and it didn't escape Renjun's sight how the former's eyes seemed to be gravitating to his lips while he was speaking.

He was glad he put some lipgloss on.

"I'm here to court you." Renjun leaned closer, "Can I?"

Jaemin became heavier with his ex-lover's proximity, "You're already in my lap, what more permission do you want?"

"Can I kiss you then?" Renjun exchanged the favor and stared at Jaemin's moist lips too. The latter must still be consistently using his lip balm since his lips looked shiny soft and perfect.

Jaemin thought of all the scolding he'd probably received from his friends before pressing Renjun's lips to a kiss.

Well, they can scold him later but he just missed Renjun so badly.

Contrary to the gentle kiss they shared outside the church, this time, their kiss was more hungry. It was like Jaemin's pent-up anger was channeled to Renjun through his kiss.

Jaemin bit Renjun's lower lip which made the latter open his mouth.

" Hmm, " Renjun subconsciously moaned when Jaemin's tongue entered, sucking his own like it was a rare delicacy he finally got a taste on.

Jaemin's hands slipped inside Renjun's shirt and caressed his waist while his mouth worked on kissing him. Their tongues were battling but it was more of Jaemin doing all the work, biting, kissing, sucking, while Renjun received everything.

He was dizzy, out of breath, and lightheaded, but most importantly, a little bit horny.

"Jaemin, I missed you…" Renjun whispered when Jaemin finally diverted his attention toward his neck. Jaemin used to love touching every part of his body: his hands, waist, shoulders,  and butt,  but the one thing he loved kissing the most next to his face is Renjun's neck.

His ex-lover just hummed and continued to press open-mouthed kisses on his skin, not any leaving marks.

"Jaemin-ah… mark me." No reaction but Jaemin continued just kissing him, "Jaemin…  baobei…"

Finally, Jaemin gently bit his neck to which Renjun let out a satisfied moan.

"You're here to court me but I'm still the one giving your service," Jaemin complained before going back to kiss his lips. This time, the anger was gone but it was switched up with lust.

He lifted Renjun like he weighed nothing once again and positioned him on top of his lap so both of Renjun's legs were around him, "Kiss me,  baoibei. "

Renjun gladly obliged.

They made out more for who knows how long before Jaemin finally stopped when he heard Renjun's stomach churn. "You…"

Renjun hadn't eaten yet but he also didn't want to leave Jaemin's lap so the latter just ordered food from the canteen to be delivered to his office.

"Why did you not contact me?" Jaemin asked, his hands both on Renjun's waist so the other one would not move however he liked. They surely shouldn't be facing the person who'll deliver their food with full-on boners.

Renjun pressed a kiss on his lips, "I wanted to surprise you. Did it work?"

"It did," Jaemin pinched both of Renjun's cheeks, "Seeing you sleeping on my company lobby's couch almost gave me a heart attack. If your grandfather knew, I doubt he'd be happy."

Hearing his concern, Renjun felt a pang of guilt but at the same time, "Grandfather told me I should do whatever I want from now on. He said he'd rather die seeing me happily married to you than me staying single and lonely my whole life."

"Spoiled brat." Jaemin flicked his forehead, "What made you think I'll marry you?"

Renjun pouted, "I don't think of it. What I'm doing is a one-chance gamble in my life. If you don't accept me, then it means I have no chance with you… I'll run back to China."

Jaemin's face slightly frowned when he heard Renjun's home country.

"But here you are, letting me sit on your lap," Renjun pecked his lips once more, "Letting me kiss you like I've got all the chances in the world."

Jaemin reached out his hand to hold Renjun's face, to which the other leaned on, "Because you do. You're the only one who ever had."

Renjun smiled contentedly. He was about to kiss Jaemin again because he just couldn't get enough when there came a knock on the office door.

"Must be the food. I told them to leave it outside." Jaemin pressed a kiss on Renjun's lips before moving to get their food but before he could even remove Renjun from his lap, the door opened.

"Why is there a huge stuffed toy left on the floor outside? And also why are there fl— oh my god my son!"

It wasn't food delivery, it was Mrs. Na.

Renjun's supposed office dinner with Jaemin turned out to be a whole dinner date with the Na family.

"So does your grandfather know?" Mrs. Na asked the moment the waiter got their order.

"Mom…"

Renjun was red from head to toe. He still has the image of Jaemin’s mother carrying the pink stuffed toy they abandoned outside the office with a shock on her face. Who wouldn’t be?

She just saw her son with another man on his lap and that said man was the one who crashed his son’s wedding days ago.

Mr. Na, Jaemin’s father, was keeping to himself on her side.

"He does. I'm sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Na for all the trouble I caused." Renjun was embarrassed to be seen in that position with Jaemin, especially after the scandal he had just days before but he still wanted to apologize. "However my feelings for Jaemin… the words I promised in the church, it's real. I want to marry your son."

“And why?”

That’s when it struck Renjun, the Na family didn’t know about them either. Their relationship was their little secret, unbeknownst to people who would probably keep them apart once they knew. Sadly, those were their family.

Renjun felt like he couldn’t breathe for a second but still, he chose to speak.

“I’ve been in love with Jaemin since we were twenty.” He started, steeling himself to look into Jaemin’s parents’ eyes, “Sorry if we didn’t tell you but we weren’t just best friends three years ago. I love him and he loved me.”

“Best friends don’t hold each other’s hands under the dining table. You think I wouldn’t notice every time I cook the both of you dinner, not even asking why it’s not Xiaoting who Jaemin is bringing home?”

Renjun glanced guiltily at Jaemin who had his arms crossed while looking at the table napkin like saying if he wanted him, Renjun should prove it.

“I’m sorry, we didn’t mean to lie to you.” Renjun couldn’t even make eye contact. Now that he thought about it, it’s like he stole someone’s spot that’s not his. However, he still wants Jaemin and he can't back down now. “B-but like what I said I love your son and I never stopped loving him despite… leaving him.”

“Hmm, that’s what I’m the most confused about.” Mrs. Na clicked her polished nails on the table, grabbing the attention of everyone sitting around it. Jaemin’s mother was beautiful and elegant, no wonder his son turned out to be the most handsome person Renjun had ever met, “You left Jaemin and you didn’t even get to see how much he has suffered after what you did. And now you’re coming back here like nothing happened, while my dumb lovestruck son accepts you like nothing happened also… I thought he was intelligent but I guess it only applies in the corporate world.”

Every word Jaemin’s mother spoke was like an arrow to the heart of Renjun. She was right, mothers are always right.

He only heard Jaemin’s state when he left the country from their friends but he never really got to see him. Renjun only wished Jaemin could move on one day while he, on the other hand, didn’t even try to.

“Sorry, Mrs. Na, it was me… Jaemin is not dumb, I was the one who insisted on courting your son… I-I was the one who climbed on his l-lap—“

“I highly doubt he would just let anyone climb his lap, Mr. Huang.”

Renjun was not sure if he could turn redder but he felt his face heat up more, “I… It was… we were just… I-I was asking him permission if I can count him.”

“I can’t imagine him saying no.”

“ Yeobo ,” Mr. Na interrupted, “Would you stop watching too many K-dramas? Renjun is already sweating because of you. The food is here also.”

“ Excuse me?  How many times do I have to tell you that I’m watching Chinese dramas? Chinese!”

Jaemin clicked his tongue on the side and moved to put food on Renjun’s plate, right at the same time his dad did it for his mom. Renjun bit his lips, uncertain what he was supposed to do.

“You don’t have to listen to the things my mom is saying,” Jaemin whispered.

But he needs to because what his mom was saying was reality. It’s what he did and he needed to take accountability for his actions. He doesn’t only need to but he also wants to.

“Mrs. Na, Mr. Na.” Renjun called out and the couple stopped whatever they were doing to look at him, “I will not leave Jaemin this time. I will not let him suffer again like when I left him last time. I will be a better part—“

“ Injun-ah ,” Jaemin’s mother suddenly called him out by his Korean name which surprised him. It was how she used to call him when he visited their house disguised as Jaemin’s best friend, “I’m sure you suffered too. The words I told you earlier, I meant it. I meant it as a concerned parent who has seen his son turn into a wreck because his lover left him. But I doubt you didn’t suffer too.”

“It was not your fault, Renjun, that’s what your Auntie wants to say.” Mr. Na supplemented, “It was a promise between you and Jaemin’s grandfather. Honestly, they shouldn’t be placing burdens like this on their grandchildren. Father is in another place already while your grandfather has already blessed you and Jaemin.”

Renjun looked up at Mr. Na in shock.

“Your grandfather has called us,” Mrs. Na explained, “Your wedding would still be technically a wedding between the two families so I guess it still works. I just didn’t expect that my son would be so… err, be this fast in forgiving."

"Well, you raised your son to be a good-natured person." Mr. Na commented.

"He's just whipped for  Injunnie  here like you are with me." Mrs. Na gave Renjun a tiny wink. "You can go back to calling us Auntie and Uncle,  Injun-ah . Or you can already start practicing calling us Mom and Dad. We're going to be families soon anyways."

Renjun almost choked on air as he hadn't had the chance to eat anything yet, "Thank you, Auntie and Uncle. I'll just call you Mom and Dad once Jaemin accepts my marriage proposal."

This time, it was Jaemin who choked on his rice.

Renjun’s first day attempting to court Jaemin almost became a failure with all the unprecedented events that occurred but the following days were better. When he came the second day, it was before office hours even started. The secretary, who comes an hour before eight, was even shocked when she saw him carrying a bouquet of birds of paradise and a kitty lunch box on the other hand.

“Good morning!” Renjun greeted with a smile.

As someone who had been working as Mr. Na’s secretary for three months, Miss Choi only had a vague idea from the rumors about Renjun Huang’s identity. He became the talk in the company’s group chat after what happened last night.

Wedding crasher, eldest son of the Huangs, a very pretty CEO– those were the descriptions about him. But there’s another thing that struck her when she saw the scene unfold yesterday– her boss likes Mr. Huang!

“I will call Mr. Na–”

“No need, I’m here.” Right on cue, Jaemin walked into their lobby, noticed Renjun immediately, and dragged him to his office.

Renjun once again became the gossip of their company especially when their boss got late for his first meeting of the day because he took too much time ‘talking’ to Mr. Huang who exited his office with visibly swollen lips. Mr. Na hates getting time wasted so this was a new thing for them.

Because of embarrassment, Renjun made sure to know Jaemin’s schedule the following days.

In one week, Mr. Na’s office was filled with flowers of different varieties. The employees were sure Mr. Huang also brought stuffed toys some other day but his secretary said they were nowhere to be found.

“Should we tell Mr. Huang that maybe Mr. Na doesn’t like it?”

“Maybe we should!”

Mr. Huang was easy to approach for them. He was bright and cheerful, not even acting superior despite being a CEO himself too. He easily befriended everyone in the office. Because of their good feelings towards him, they thought they should let him now.

“He may not look like it but he likes it, don’t worry. Those stuffed toys are probably inside his bedroom, sleeping with him at night.” Mr. Huang replied with a wink before he was taken away by Mr. Na by the waist.

It was on his 7th day of pursuing Jaemin when he met with Donghyuck.

“I almost thought you forgot about your best friend.” He commented after sipping his  red sea  drink. They went to a bar Donghyuck frequents which is coincidentally only a ten-minute drive from Na Corporation. Jaemin still had a meeting until 10 pm that day so Renjun thought it would be a good time to finally show his face to Donghyuck.

“You act like we don’t do face time.” Renjun ignored Donghyuck’s whiny face in favor of checking if Jaemin finally replied to his text. He hasn’t but it made sense since he’s probably still in the dinner meeting. After going home together (at least, Jaemin’s driver drops him off at his hotel) for almost a week, this will be the first time that they’ll be apart.

Renjun was not sure if he was doing the courting properly but he did what Jaemin used to do for him so hopefully it’s correct. He only gets kisses from his gifts for now (kisses when he cooks for Jaemin are a lot hotter) but next time, he’ll get Jaemin to agree to go out on a date with him.

When Donghyuck heard this, he resisted the urge to facepalm, “You’re together again.”

“Not if he said so!”

Donghyuck, Renjun’s ‘informant’ in Korea who knows Jaemin wasn’t able to move on too, just nodded. Whatever they want.

“So, do you plan on staying here?” After catching up with Donghyuck’s current events which involve him traveling from place to place because of his modeling gigs, he finally asks the question that Renjun has been avoiding since he decided to court Jaemin.

“I…” Renjun didn’t know what to answer but Donghyuck didn’t mind.

Donghyuck drank a shot again, “I wanted to say that things between you two might be scaling a little too fast but you’re both adults capable of making decisions now. If I was you, I wouldn’t want to waste time either. I’m sure Jaemin had scars to heal like you but you guys have suffered enough. It’s time you both enjoy life together.”

They both drank more, reminiscing about their college days along the way when Jaemin finally replied an hour later.

From: Mr. Na

I’m done. Are you still with Lee Donghyuck?

When Donghyuck saw it, he snatched Renjun’s phone away and sent a selfie of him to Jaemin. Renjun just laughed at his best friend’s antics. He was already light-headed and tipsy and he didn’t have enough strength to snatch back his phone from Donghyuck so he could reply to Jaemin.

Luckily, he didn’t have to reply anymore because Jaemin appeared at their table ten minutes later. He was still wearing his white button-down shirt but his suit and necktie were already nowhere to be found.

Renjun’s vision was already swinging at that time, “Hi, Mr. Na.”

He giggled when Jaemin ignored him but still sat beside him on the sofa, an arm immediately making its way around his shoulders.

Jaemin: “Why did you make him drink too much?”

Donghyuck: “So you can fetch him like this.”

Jaemin clicked his tongue in annoyance. Renjun, on another hand, grabbed another glass of alcohol but hesitated and looked at Jaemin first before drinking it, “Can I drink this?”

“Why not?” Jaemin asked back while stroking small circles on Renjun’s back.

“You don’t like drinking… You might get turned off if I drink in front of you…” Renjun trailed off, already drunk blabbering his thoughts.

“It’s fine, I don’t mind if it’s you,” Jaemin assured but Renjun still put down his drinks.

“Ah,  sibal.  You won’t drink it? Okay, I’ll drink it!” Donghyuck snatched the shot glass and downed the drink, “Fuck these lovers, go home! I’ll just drink by myself here! Go!”

Renjun giggled then turned to look up at Jaemin with his innocent eyes, “Are we lovers already? I’m still just a suitor, right?”

Jaemin was sure Renjun was not in the right state of mind anymore, “You don’t make out with your suitors, Renjun.”

Renjun: “I don’t.”

Jaemin: “...”

Donghyuck: “For context, he had suitors in China. Suitors, Jaemin, with an S. Suitorsssssssss.”

Renjun: “I didn’t make out with them.”

Jaemin clenched his jaw subconsciously, “Why did Chenle not tell me about them?”

“Hmm?” Renjun leaned on Jaemin’s chest, he was getting sleepy, “What does Chenle have to do anything about this?”

Donghyuck: “Obviously, he’s Jaemin’s spy in China.”

Jaemin: “Shut up, Lee Donghyuck.”

Renjun: “Wait… If you don’t make out with your suitors, does that mean I’m not your suitor anymore?”

When Renjun visibly froze on Jaemin’s chest, Jaemin got worried. Even Donghyuck sensed something wrong with Renjun’s tone of voice.

“What’s wrong?” Jaemin asked, uncertain about the thoughts currently running in Renjun’s mind. He may have had two years of experience dealing with Renjun’s drunk antics but he couldn’t assume things now after three years had passed.

“Are you…” Renjun’s voice suddenly cracked, “Are you telling me to stop courting you?”

His voice was very small, it wouldn’t be audible with the bar’s loud music if he wasn’t speaking directly on Jaemin’s chest. Something about it made Jaemin mad about himself.

He was so weak against Renjun.

He suddenly remembered all the question marks sent by Jeno, Mark, and Jisung in their group chat when the news about Jaemin’s canceled wedding reached them. Jaemin didn’t want them to attend so none of them did but they became mad when they realized they missed all the drama.

Another set of question marks was sent when Jisung delivered the news of Renjun visiting Jaemin’s office with a bouquet of roses and a pink stuffed toy.

GC name: When will Mr. Na finally have time to go fishing with us

Mark: ????????

Jeno: ???????????

Jisung: ???????????

Mark: Yayaya I thought Renjun would not attend the wedding?!

Jeno: So don't say yes, run away now I'll meet you when you're out of the church at the back door

Jisung: We should've attended!! Aahhh I regret it so much.

GC name: Mr. Na got Speak Now-ed

Jisung: @everyone Renjun-hyung brought flowers and a pink stuffed toy to Jaemin-hyung’s office.

Jisung: He even carried Renjun-hyung to his office while he was sleeping although I’m sure both of us know Renjun-hyung was just pretending to be asleep.

Jisung: Anyways, I think they’re together again.

Mark: ???????

Jeno: ??????????

Mark: Wow… Jaemin you… I know Renjun is irresistible but wow you folded really fast bro

Jeno: I don’t think he got out of the fold in the first place kkk~

"Jaemin-ah, you said I have a chance…" This time, Renjun stared at him with teary eyes. Jaemin felt his heart constrict. "You want me to stop… but… I can be better, Jaemin. I'll be better for you."

Jaemin sighed, "Let's go home, you're drunk."

"I'll be better Jaemin…" Renjun turned his body until he was plastered on Jaemin's broad chest. "I swear I won't leave you again."

Jaemin chuckled. He couldn't believe his heart would flutter because of the words of a drunk person.

Renjun pouted, "Don't laugh, it's not funny!"

Jaemin resisted the urge to kiss Renjun's lips right there, a smile forming on his face, "I'm not laughing."

Donghyuck downed another shot, "Can you guys please fucking leave already?"

When Renjun woke up on his bed the next day, his head was aching from the severe hangover. There was a glass of water from his bedside table and a piece of hangover medicine.

Jaemin probably brought him to his hotel but the latter was nowhere to be found. It was also lunchtime already so it was probably too late for him to go bring Jaemin food.

He only vaguely remembered whining with his drunk ass about courting Jaemin and the rest was blacked out probably because he also blacked out too.

Renjun went out of his bedroom and froze at the sight of his living room.

He forgot about it.

His single suitcase which he brought from China was tucked in neatly beside the sofa. He left yesterday with it open, clothes already folded. He also left his return flight ticket to China on top of it but that ticket was now on the coffee table.

Renjun's heart dropped, "Jaemin…"

He told him he'll never leave again yesterday but he has a flight ticket home dated tomorrow.

Renjun immediately called his office but it was left unanswered by his secretary who told him Jaemin didn’t go to the office today. His phone calls to Jaemin were also cut off because the receiver’s phone was turned off.

Dread started to creep into Renjun’s heart.

Their setup for the past week was hazy. They were together, but none of the lines were drawn clearly. Renjun was ‘courting’ Jaemin and yet they acted like they were already together. But in the end, Jaemin never did say what his feelings were. All Renjun knew was that Jaemin was giving him a second chance but he immediately ruined it.

What would Jaemin possibly think after he saw Renjun’s plane ticket?

Renjun was at a loss for what to do but at the same time, he couldn’t just let things be. He absentmindedly dialed the number of the person that was offhandedly mentioned last night.

After two rings, the person from the other side answered with a hint of surprise, “Renjun- ge?  What’s with the call? Missed me?”

“Chenle…” Renjun’s voice trailed off before he came back to his senses again, “Do you know where Jaemin is?”

It turned out that Chenle did not, but he also had the resources to know. And by resources, it’s not some special investigation agency but just another person.

“Jisung said he might be in that park beside your, err, college. The one where you guys used to date a lot, he says. He’s not sure but that’s where he said Jaemin usually goes when he disappears.”

“Thank you, le! I owe you one.” Renjun immediately grabbed his coat and booked a taxi, heart pounding from nervousness.

The ‘when he disappears’ phrase stuck to Renjun.

Jaemin usually disappears for a while whenever they are fighting. It’s not often they do but once they do, Jaemin goes away for a few hours.

“Sorry, baobei, but could you give me a few hours to think? A lot of unwanted thoughts enter my mind whenever we’re like this and I know it’s not true but I couldn’t stop them in an instant.” Jaemin embraced him, his arms easily enveloping Renjun’s whole person, “Is that fine with you?”

Renjun nodded. He was already on the verge of tears earlier when they got a little heated with their argument. Renjun becomes a crybaby when he’s mad and he also says some vicious things that he doesn’t mean when he’s getting carried away. Jaemin, on the other hand, has always been the bigger person. Even if it gets too much, Jaemin doesn’t even shout. He only requests for some time alone then he’ll come back later, asking to make up with Renjun.

Renjun stood beside the old pine tree yards away from one of the benches in front of the lake where Jaemin’s figure was visibly sitting.

‘Some time alone’ is what Jaemin usually needs when he wants to think about their fight and its root cause. However, it’s not applicable in this situation wherein there was no fight to begin with, only a misunderstanding that could’ve probably caused a lot of unwanted thoughts on Jaemin’s side.

“Jaemin-ah…” Jaemin’s shoulder visibly tensed when his name got called. He was still wearing his clothes last night. “I was only going back to China for a day. I wanted to talk to my family about what happened… about us.”

Jaemin didn’t look at him nor he acknowledged what Renjun said but his shoulders finally relaxed. It had been a long day for him and Renjun knew.

There were times when their fight would be huge and Renjun would be the one showing his anger more but Jaemin would be the one who would not be able to sleep that night.

Jaemin understands but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t hurt.

“I never stopped loving you, Jaemin.” Renjun finally reached the back of Jaemin’s bench, “I’m sorry for lying to you when I left you.”

These were the words he knew Jaemin wanted to hear.  These were the words he wanted Jaemin to hear.

I’m sorry for saying I did not love you anymore.

Things would not work out for them no matter what they do.

They also let go of the possibility that there’s another chance for them in the middle.

It was only thanks to fate ( or maybe a little bit of Taylor Swift ) that they found each other again.

Renjun was ready to accept the fact that his greatest love would marry his cousin. At least, he gets to keep Jaemin near.

Jaemin was ready to accept the fact that he would be marrying the cousin of his greatest love instead of him. At least, he gets to keep a spot near Renjun.

They never thought they would come this far.

Jaemin finally looked at Renjun with bloodshot eyes, “I thought you were going to leave me again.”

The weight of Jaemin’s words pierced Renjun straight through the heart.

“I’m sorry,” Renjun hugged Jaemin from behind, hoping it could somehow relay comfort to the other, “I’ll never do that again.”

Jaemin leaned into his touch, “I was going to do anything to bankrupt your company.”

Renjun chuckled, “And I was going to be the rich uncle of your kids.”

“You would not be rich if I bankrupted you.”

“My personal assets are very much secured, Mr. Na.”

“Hmm, you’re finally over the overspending spoiled rich kid phase?”

“Thanks to your finance lessons.”

“If you went bankrupt, I was going to offer you my vacation house in Jeju.”

“Wow, you’re going to offer someone you bankrupted with a vacation house?”

“You were going to be the caretaker. Clean it all day and maybe you can paint on the shore during your free time.”

Renjun planted a kiss on top of Jaemin’s hair, “I’ll never give up on us this time.”

Jaemin hummed.

The bells on the cafe door rang, signifying a person entering the cafe. It was one that unintentionally grabbed everyone’s attention, too loud to even ignore. And as if on cue, Jaemin looked up from the americano he was currently drinking while waiting.

His eyes met another pair of eyes which looked like they contained stars. A flicker of recognition flashed on the person’s face and in seconds, he was already in front of Jaemin.

With Brown permed hair and a red flannel with a white shirt, he looked like an art student whom Jaemin probably never encountered on the campus considering the arts department and business department belong at opposite ends of their school.

"Sorry, I’m a bit late. I’m Huang Renjun by the way! My cousin, your fiance, couldn't come because of period cramps. Please don’t tell your parents, by the way, I'll just pay for your meal." The person said in one breath, sparkling eyes looked apologetic and sincere– it did things in Jaemin’s stomach.

Jaemin didn’t like his time getting wasted. If anyone does that to him, especially those who are not his friends, are immediately put on his blacklist. This person had been late and only to bring bad news (not really) at that so Jaemin could’ve just dismissed the person and called it a day.

However, maybe he has been enchanted as he found himself saying something else, "I'd rather have you dine with me as compensation. I didn't wait for long just to eat by myself."

‘Huang Renjun’ was a bit surprised by the invite– it was all visible on his face, "But I'm not—"

"The food is good here, I'll pay." This was not like Jaemin at all. “And I won’t tell the oldies.”

“‘The oldies’,” The term made Renjun laugh, a light and barely audible but pleasing sound, “Okay, I don’t say no to free food too.”

I hear the preacher say, "Speak now or forever hold your peace"

A smile tugged on Renjun's lips when he suddenly remembered the line in the song. He made eye contact to the person facing him now, who seemed to be thinking of the same thing.

Jaemin in white tuxedo and black hair made Renjun think he's a prince straight out of a Disney movie. Little did he know that Jaemin was thinking the same.

Renjun looked like just how Jaemin imagined him to be on their wedding day, fairy like eyes with elfish beauty. Even his flower crown failed to outshine his twinkling eyes. Like him, Renjun was also wearing a white customized tuxedo to match Jaemin's.

It was a huge risk to hold a wedding on the beach but it was what they both wanted. Thankfully, the weather was friendly and the see breeze were blowing nicely to keep everything in a good mood.

When no one spoke, the priest, who was also the priest last time, cleared his throat, "Na Jaemin, please repeat after me."

"I call upon these persons, here present, to witness that I, Na Jaemin,"

"I call upon these persons, here present, to witness that I, Na Jaemin," Jaemin's eyes met Renjun's, his loving gaze never wavering ever since he saw the other enter the doors of the church.

"Do take you, Huang Renjun, to be my lawful wedded husband."

"Do take you, Huang Renjun, to be my lawful wedded husband." Everyone, their close friends and family at least, thought that Renjun would be the one to cry but when they saw Jaemin's eyes start to get teary when he said his line.

"To have and to hold, from this day forward. For better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, so long as we both
shall live."

The smile that Renjun rewarded him was so sweet that Jaemin wasn't able to stop a tear from falling. Seeing his soon-to-be-husband shed a tear, Renjun giggled.

The priest cleared his throat again, "Huang Renjun, please repeat after me."

Renjun nodded, it was finally his turn.

"I call upon these persons, here present, to witness that I, Huang Renjun, do take you, Na Jaemin, to be my lawful wedded husband."

"I call upon these persons, here present, to witness that I, Huang Renjun, do take you, Na Jaemin, to be my lawful wedded husband."

He was finally the one saying these lines instead of someone else.

"To have and to hold, from this day forward. For better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, so long as we both shall live."

"To have and to hold, from this day forward. For better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, so long as we both shall live."

When he said he last line, Renjun felt his cheeks get wet from his tears. In the end, he's still a crybaby too.

"May I have the rings please?" Asked the priest but a minute has passed but the ring didn't arrive. Everyone's eyes looked at the ring bearer who was behind the groom.

"Jisung, the rings!" Jeno, who was beside him, whispered.

"H-huh? Oh..." Jisung, who was wiping his tears seconds ago, finally came back to his senses. Once he gave the rings to the priest, he went back to his place and was consoled by his Mark-hyung.

"Shh, don't cry, don't cry." Mark mumbled while tears were pouring down his face too.

"Tch, weaklings." Donghyuck chided while blowing his nose on the handkerchief Chenle gave him. The younger was also giving him weird looks.

The people who heard this silly little scene in the wedding, the couple included, laughed, causing the priest to once again clear his throat to grab everyone's attention.

The ceremony resumed and they finally exchanged rings.

"I," The priest recited, "Qian Kun, by virtue of the powers vested in me, hereby pronounce you, to be married. I wish you long life, happiness, prosperity, and may the vows you made to each other today sustain you forever."

Their love was once considered as a right person wrong time situation.

But their love also showed that if you two are meant to be, then in the end, it will be the two of you who would be exchanging wedding vows.

"You may kiss the bride."

The two of them smiled each other before finally sealing their promise with a kiss.
