Work Text:
Kunikida and Sigma are resting at home for once; not because they wanted to but because both collapsed at work and were made to go home under the President's orders. So here they are, the two now trying to take care of each other whilst ignoring their own needs for the other. Both a trait they hate, but can’t seem to drop.
“Kunikida, the reason you collapsed is because you have been up at night working on reports,” Sigma protests, hair messily tied up.
Her intent was to have Kunikida relax in a warm bath while massaging her, though this is like forcing a cat to take a bath after it has rolled in dirt. Kunikida is as stubborn as a cat. Not like Sigma can talk.
“And you collapsed because you decided to learn names of everyone in the entire agency! How did you—!?” Kunikida responds in an exasperated manner, hands matching her tone.
Kunikida’s intent was to cook dinner for Sigma, something she very clearly needs after a long day of working hard. Sigma won’t allow it, saying ‘it will put too much stress on her wrists’. While that is true, Sigma hasn’t eaten since 3:30 PM and now it’s 7:00 PM.
The couple is extremely stubborn.
After a few moments, Sigma crosses her arms before saying something extremely out of character for her.
“Fine! I give up, you win.” She says, though Kunikida knows something is up. “I’ll eat, just wait till I put everything back.” She walks away with the towel to their room.
Kunikida just stands there processing it, before grinning, her hands on her hips as she feels a wave of relief. She closes her eyes and sighs, though a gut feeling is telling her to watch out.
“See? I knew we would see eye to eye- AH!” Her gloating gets interrupted by a stream of water? Kunikida opens her eyes to see Sigma with a water gun, grinning ear to ear at her. Sigma is not one to give up, and Kunikida should have listened to that gut feeling.
“As you were saying?” She smirks, aiming the gun at her.
“Sigma, don’t you dare— EEEK!” Kunikida throws her arms up in defence as Sigma sprays her with water again. “SINCE WHEN HAVE YOU OWNED A WATER GUN!???”
“I am part of the Armed Detective Agency, after all.” She teases, readying her weapon again. Kunikida will never understand where she mysteriously pulls things out of.
Kunikida stumbles around the apartment , trying to avoid the ongoing shots made by Sigma’s water gun. Unfortunately, Sigma has a very good aim, and never misses. After a few minutes, Kunikida gives up.
“Fine!— I’ll let you do what you want!— Don’t spray any more water—!” Kunikida flails her arms around, in an attempt to stop Sigma. She looks like a soggy cat. Kunikida sighs with relief. “After that, you will let me cook dinner right?”
Sigma chuckles, a sound Kunikida will never get over, as she smiles triumphantly.
“Alright, fine by me. I can agree with that.” She helps Kunikida up, giving her a kiss on cheek as a small apology. “Maybe if you weren’t so stubborn, everything could have gone smoothly.
Kunikida can’t help but smile slightly, turning her face away.
“I want to take care of you too, Sigma.”
“I know you do, my love.” She kisses her hand, before leading her to the bathroom. Finally, the two can somewhat relax.
