Chapter Text
Red rocks of anguish and pain rained down from the massive, crackling, pulsing Eye of Eden. It's cracked and shaking form floating in the midst of chaos. It exuded a dark flashing of red and pink light, casting any water into a bloodied color.
The wind roared in anger and lightning crashed down with reckless abandon. Still forms of childlike statues glowed with a dulled aura of blue and gold. Their forms scattered around the ruins of a once beautiful palace almost vibrating with an unknown energy. Many curled up defending themselves or others. Some hunched over in defeat.
These statues have seen too long of this storm with the constant rain of dark crystals splintering across their forms causing any discernable features to be erased.
The sound of splashing of poisoned water and a flap of multicolored wings was almost drowned out by the cacophony of the storm. Hurried steps dodged behind the broken walls and pillars in their attempt to advance towards the Eye, pausing occasionally only to rip out a bright light from their chest to place within the statues. Every statue touched came a glow with a soft white light and almost appeared to be on fire and under water at the same time.
Quick, desperate splashing continued on for what may have been hours or days. The pale blue, poncho-like wings split and tore at the ends, but this did not deter them. Painful as it may be, stopping now was not an option. There were only three status left and they could make it!
A particularly large shard would seem to disagree with them. Blasting from the Eye it struck them down. It burned so painfully it could have passed for dry ice. But they couldn't stop now.
Gathering all remaining strength they pushed themselves to getting to one statue and then another, both shining just as brightly as the others.
More and more red hot shards dug into their skin and darker crystals began to grow from their body. It became difficult to see as crystals fused their eyelashes together, but they were nearing the last statue, it would be over soon.
[[please]] They begged their body to cooperate, the last one was right there! They could almost reach it!
A hand raised in a desperate plea, reaching out and finally barely grazing the statue before collapsing and falling still. It was just enough to transfer light that was hungrily absorbed by the statue. If only there was enough light for everyone.
The Eye of Eden raged on.
