Work Text:
Eleven years was a long time. It was a long time to spend hunched over books and in whispered discussions with various doctors, some recommended—and paid for—by the Medici, all in search of one thing.
Giovanni tried not to obsess over it. He tried to spend more time embracing the days Petruccio had rather than waste them in fruitless attempts to give him more, but it was devilishly tempting when picking up just one book could provide him with the answers he sought.
He’d do anything to give his youngest child the healthiest and most joyful life possible.
