Chapter Text
“The way his hands touched me was heavenly, so divine and sweet that I couldn’t help but want more. I begged him with my eyes to please touch me more. I wanted him and he knew it,”
Hannibal paused and turned to the phone, which was on an audiobook, He had been too busy with his latest pig's screams to hear it. However, now that the pig had died or perhaps lost consciousness (It didn’t matter either way as the man would be served with a nice sauce, perhaps a side of eggs with it), He could hear the prerecorded sound of crickets and the music to add ambiance and help immerse the listener in the story, but most importantly, He could hear the narrator. The greatest part of all, that no story could exist without it, and of course, Someone had to read it to bring the characters to life.
But he recognized the voice and yet he wanted to believe it was just a coincidence.
“He cupped my cheek and smiled. “Isaiah,” he said softly before looking away, perhaps feeling ashamed that he felt this way towards a man on the other side of the law. “Aaron,” I said back as I put my hand on his hand. He looked back up at me with emotions I couldn’t decipher and leaned in for our first kiss. Though we both knew that it would not be our last for the night,”
However, that was Will.
Hannibal had no idea what to do now. He had spent so long doing this that it was as natural as breathing to him and surely, he had seen and heard worse while out but this truly took him by surprise. He completely forgot what he had been doing and stared just dumbfounded at the phone.
“As the crickets chirped and the wind blew against us. I knew there was no one else I wanted to be with,”
After all, it isn’t every day that you find out that possibly hundreds of people enjoy listening to the love of your life read erotic cowboy fiction.
“And I wanted to be by Aaron’s side forever, even if it meant I would certainly lose everything. As his lips moved from my lips to my neck. I looked up at the stars and moaned his name to them, as if I wanted the heavens and all its angels to hear his name and know who made me feel better than any woman I’d been with.”
Hannibal looked back at the man who was on the ground, realizing he almost completely forgot about him. He quickly snapped back and attacked the pig again. If He was somehow still alive after Hannibal’s first attack. He certainly wasn’t now. His face was mangled and cut up like a scratching post and his stomach was ripped open, as if Hannibal ripped him apart with his hands rather then the surgical precision he was known for.
However, he couldn’t stop listening.
“We almost fell back onto the dry ground. I moved my hand from his hand and put it in his hair, in response he moved his hand to my shirt, looking at it as if it was an abomination to Christ itself. It was ironic really. That one of the men I swore to take down, whose name I cursed in the morning earlier and yet whose name I moaned in the night now,”
Hannibal felt the man's wrist, seeing if there was still a pulse while his own soared like no other. He felt angry and yet aroused. Will described this so calmly as if he was reading the newspaper at breakfast and yet it was to hundreds, perhaps thousands of people. They've heard will say things that Hannibal should be hearing.
“I thought about how strange it was, this situation so bizarre. He had troubled my town for what felt like centuries, and I was not the first sheriff he fought. However, I was probably the first in my line of work to be in this situation. He had killed people I knew, who I cared about. However, under the moon, as he took off his shirt, his hands no longer touching me for just a second. I didn’t run or pull out my gun to shoot him, Instead, I started taking off my vest. I instead asked, “Have you ever done this before?” He paused and looked at me “Yes, But I’ve never done it with a man as lovely as you,” He said with a chuckle “Or enjoyed taking my time as much.” He kissed my neck again, so softly as if I was his wife instead of his enemy. As if he loved me.”
He wanted to take the phone, perhaps listen to that after Will’s appointments, and compare the two but he knew even touching that phone was ridiculous and dangerous. He could find the audiobook later.
Once he was done with gathering his ingredients of course.
“Aaron unbuttoned my shirt as I looked up at him. “I’ve never done this,” I admitted, “With a man,” I explained before he could ask. He smiled softly and pressed a kiss to my forehead. “I figured,” He said with a chuckle that turned into a laugh when he saw my flushed face. “I just mean you're so flustered,” He explained with that stupid smile,”
He couldn’t even remember who this man was or what he had done to earn this fate, to be served on a platter to anyone. Perhaps it would be served to will, He was still deciding.
It didn’t matter now anyway.
The man was already dead.
“I chuckled at that for he was right. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest and the blood rushing to two places, my cheeks, and my groin.”
What did will feel while reading this? Did he feel even a bit aroused as he read this, did he imagine himself as one of the characters? Hannibal pondered as he put the intestines away.
He wondered whether he imagined himself as Aaron, perhaps indulging himself in a fantasy of being a criminal? Or did he imagine himself as Isaiah, the sheriff who most likely suffered at this man's hands, and yet adored and even yearned for Aaron’s touch?
“He put his hand back on my cheek and leaned in for another kiss, one I gladly enjoyed. “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you, you will never forget this night,” Aaron said with confidence that I knew so well. He’d brag about how easy it was to steal the diamond earrings off the mayor’s wife in this same tone. He knew it was true and everyone knew it as well.”
Hannibal knew he’d get his answer soon.
He knew just as much as Isaiah knew that he'd never escape Aaron's love.
