Work Text:
Osamu sat in his bedroom motionless because he lost the only person who ever brought him joy. Oikawa was the sun to his moon, his best friend and his lover.
Him and Oikawa had broken up, and now Osamu hadn't felt any type of happiness. He remembered their secret handshake and all the movie nights they would have together. They were inseparable. The two were one being, a single soul, and yet that soul was now gone.
Osamu didn't know what to do with himself anymore. He felt like he was stuck in time, unable to move forward and not be reminded of how much he loved Oikawa. Now Osamu was alone with nothing but memories. The moon was out in the sky without the sun to keep it company.
Osamu could still feel their hands holding each other tightly as they made their way to the park, the stars shining brightly above them as they looked at each other with love in their eyes. Their fingers intertwined when they reached the bench that they always shared. Osamu felt tears fall from his eyes. The silver haired man wasn't used to feeling this way so he just lay there unmoving, thinking about nothing but Oikawa.
How could things turn so bad? His heart ached and he wished that Oikawa was there with him. Maybe if he could just hold onto something that reminded him of his former lover, maybe then he'd feel happier again. The pain was too intense for him to take so he cried out loud. Osamu couldn’t even remember the last time he cried. Oikawa always took his pain away before it could consume him. But now that the precious brunet wasn't with him, all his demons attacked him at full force.
It's been five days since Oikawa left and every day since, Osamu felt worse.
Osamu thought back to their first date. It was a perfect night. The moon was out and the stars were shining bright. The whole city shone under the moonlight with its warm glow. Osamu's hand was intertwined with Oikawa's, enjoying each other's warmth and presence. It was a romantic evening where they talked, laughed, ate and danced under the moonlight. It seemed so magical, but Osamu knew it would never happen again.
The silver haired man suddenly sat up as his hand reached up and gripped his shirt, strangling it in his grasp. His heart was already broken but it felt as if it became more fractured than ever before. Tears fell down his cheeks as his cries became louder.
"Tooru" Osamu called out softly.
"Tooru, I love you" he said just as quietly. Osamu let out a sigh and laid back down on his bed once again. His eyes were red from crying, and his skin was damp from his salty tears. He felt empty and broken inside. His head began pounding and he felt dizzy.
"I wish you were here" he whispered quietly to no one, knowing that there was no one listening. “I miss your voice Tooru...I miss your laugh..." Osamu said slowly. He closed his eyes and tried to forget the way Oikawa smelled, or his energetic personality, or the smile on his face that radiated sunshine. Osamu tried to wipe away the tears that fell from his eyes with his sleeve, but no matter how hard he tried they wouldn't stop falling. Osamu was completely empty inside. There was no light, no warmth, no love, just a void where his sunshine should have been.
"Tooru, please come home," Osamu begged. "Please...I need you, I need you.." He cried out again.
Osamu wanted the pain to go away, he wanted Tooru to hold him, to bring him peace but no one would come to comfort him, no one would tell him that everything will be okay, no one would reassure him that life isn't always this cruel. Soon enough Osamu's tears ran dry and he passed out from exhaustion, the thought of his ex lover filling his mind as darkness claimed him.
