For a moment, just waking, Yusuke thinks Sniper, but the sound at his window is a tapping, not a breaking. Kurama is on the balcony when Yusuke opens the door, maintaining the polite fiction that he couldn't have waltzed in.
"Rough night?" Yusuke asks, but he knows the answer. Kurama wouldn't be here otherwise.
"I just missed your smiling face," Kurama replies, and that's part of the illusion too. They pad back to Yusuke's room and Yusuke's bed, and neither of them mentions how Kurama shakes as Yusuke curls up behind him.
They sleep. In the morning, Kurama is gone.
