Work Text:
Chu2 was pretty damn knowledgeable about headphones, at least according to herself. It wasn’t without reason though. She was a DJ after all, and she had her signature black cat-eared headphones on her head at almost all times. So it only made sense that she was the person Ako had gone to when she was having headphone troubles. Well, there was also the fact the two were dating, but Chu2 was certain it was the former,
“Chu2, you have to help me! My headphones stop working!” Ako said in a panic as she rushed over towards Chu2, causing her to jump in surprise.
“What happened to them?” Chu2 asked, a bit shaken by Ako suddenly running up on her but getting over it fast.
“I don’t know.” Ako exclaimed. “One moment I was raising the dead with my necromancy powers, then the next I heard a click and then I could no longer hear my undead army!” Chu2 was a bit confused by what she meant at first but quickly picked up what she was saying.
“So they broke while you were gaming… You looking for new ones?” The DJ asked her with a raised eyebrow. Ako’s expression brightened up a bit at the question.
“Yep! I figured since you’re a DJ you should know a lot about headphones so I wanted to see if you’d help me look!” Ako said. Chu2 gave a smirk as a self-satisfied look came on her face.
“Well, you came to the right person, and given the kind person I am, I may be willing to take you to get some new ones.” Chu2 said. “Are you free right now? We can head over to the mall to get some new ones.” Ako’s eyes sparkled as she nodded and grabbed Chu2’s hand before quickly walking towards the direction she thought the mall was in, the DJ trying to free herself from Ako’s grip so she could tell her she was going the complete wrong direction.

Once inside, Ako quickly ran around the electronics store looking for the headphones section, getting a few confused stares from shoppers. Chu2 let out a sigh and walked past the other shoppers pretending not to be too involved with whatever Ako was doing. After just a bit of walking (dashing in Ako’s case) through the different sections of the store, they eventually came across what they were looking for. The DJ had shown up a bit after Ako had gotten there, the drummer already searching through the headphones before Chu2 had even arrived.
Chu2 just shrugged it off and started to look for some herself. While gaming equipment wasn’t the strongest suit for her, she had a good enough understanding to find something that would work for Ako. However, not even 15 seconds had passed since she started looking before Ako sprinted up to her and tapped her on the shoulder to get her attention.
“How about these? I’d be matching with you!” Ako said with a smile. Chu2 turned around and found herself staring at a pair of purple cat-eared headphones that looked identical to hers, and the same brand too, causing her to blush a bit.
“Well, I get why you want to match with me, but you sure you want to get those?” Chu2 asked, remembering the steep price tag on those. Ako rapidly nodded with a bright expression.
“Of course! If these are the same ones you have, they should be awesome!” she exclaimed as she began to walk towards the checkout section. At least she was walking this time so Chu2 wasn’t lagging too far behind, although Ako really did know how to get from one place to another quickly, even if she wasn’t running.
The drummer greeted the cashier and began to get ready to pay for the headphones as Chu2 made it there soon after, but Ako was stopped in her tracks by the price, being way too far out of her comfortable price range. Chu2 sighed to herself, realizing Ako didn’t even check the price of the headphones, before fishing into her pocket for something.
Ako looked back at the DJ with a dejected look, but Chu2 simply walked up to the counter and used her own card to pay, causing Ako’s face to light up upon realizing what she was doing, but elected not to say anything at the time.
The two said their thank yous and Chu2 handed the headphones as the two walked out of the store. At first, Chu2 was confused by how silent Ako was, despite the expression on her face whose brightness could be comparable to a star, but soon figured out why as Ako nearly tackled her shortly after they walked out, the DJ barely staying on her feet.
“Thank you so much, Chu2! You’re the best!” Ako exclaimed as she hugged her tight. Chu 2 had a brief moment of hesitation before returning the hug. The affection was a bit much, sure, but she would be lying if she said the praise and affection weren’t feeding her ego a bit...
And, it didn’t hurt to see Ako happy either.
