Work Text:

We could leave the Christmas lights up 'til January

And this is our place, we make the rules

Lucy and Tim had been together for the better part of a year. It has been hectic, but it’s been great. They’ve never been happier.

Although Lucy has been busy with undercover work, and Tim working in Metro. They still found a way to make their relationship work and make time for each other.

There they were, in their home, which used to be just Tim’s house – now Lucy and Tamara have moved in with him. Though, Tamara stays over everyonce in a while since she tends to stay with her friends because stays with them to study.

And there's a dazzling haze, a mysterious way about you dear

Have I known you 20 seconds or 20 years?

From the moment they met, to Lucy there was something mysterious about Tim. Since then, she’s got him all figured out. Yes, it took some time, but it was worth it. They were worth the risk.

To each other, they were worth every risk to come. They’d fight tooth and nail to make sure their relationship worked.

They have had a discussion about marriage and children, but only sometime down the line. Having stupid little arguments about who they’d look like more. Though, Tim won in the end because she was so distracted by his stare.

Can I go where you go? Can we always

be this close forever and ever?

They’ve been getting closer and closer with each passing second, not taking anything for granted when it came to each other.

Lucy made a promise to make sure he wouldn’t lose her the way he lost Isabel. She didn’t ever want him to be hurt because of her.

She respected Isabel a lot, and they became friends. Traded UC stories, embarrassing Tim stories, and she gave Lucy advice about not letting the job get in the way of her personal life and relationship.

“Look Lucy, I let my job get in the way of my relationship and personal life. I hated putting him through that, it wasn’t fair to him. I’m just asking you not to do the same. Please.” Isabel pleaded.

“Thank you for the advice. I promise not to hurt him, it would never be my intention. I want to thank you for changing your ways. He’s been happier seeing you recovered and thriving. He’s been proud of you. So have I, although I don’t know you fully – I am proud.” That was Lucy’s response, and it came with a smile.

And ah, take me out, and take me home

You're my, my, my, my…

Lover

They’ve already told each other ‘I love you’ and how much. And while Lucy feels bad for lying to Tim so he could move to Metro when she could have moved to another station – which he quickly turned down and took the Metro job anyway.

She’d also felt bad for lying and helping, but she wanted to because Lucy had seen how miserable he was just sitting at a desk and having to do a desk job. And she didn’t want him being bored to death by Smitty.

No one deserved that, unless that person was Doug Stanton – or someone like him. Then they, or he, totally deserved it.

We could let our friends crash in the living room

This is our place, we make the call

They’ve hosted mini parties, with their friends there and everyone getting drunk at different times. For Nyla, Angela, and Tim – they could handle their liquor better then everyone else could.

Though, if they drank more than they could handle – then of course they couldn’t handle anything.

Though, they rarely let it get that far. Which wasn’t fair. However, when it did get that far, everyone would stay in Tim and Lucy’s home.

And I'm highly suspicious that everyone who sees you wants you

I've loved you three summers now, honey, but I want 'em all

As much as they’ve thrown parties with just their friends, there were people she didn’t know. But Tim did, he knew them. Some of them were women. And she couldn’t fight the feeling that they’d try to take him away from her.

He’s reassured her that it would never happen, and she believes him – but there’s a nagging voice at the back of mind that just tells her otherwise.

Lucy grew in fear of that voice. It always creeped up on her when she didn’t expect it or want it. Though, sometimes she’d felt like she needed a reality check.

Can I go where you go? Can we always

be this close forever and ever?

Lucy wanted to always be close to Tim. Never get into that arguement. The one where they have to break up. She wanted a relationship worth fighting for – and this is that relationship.

All her past relationships sucked because there was never any love involved. With Tim, it was different. Love was involved with this relationship. They both felt it and never wanted it to slip away from them.

Tim felt like Lucy was the only girl for him after Isabel. And Lucy didn’t have any good relationships before him, except with Nolan – and almost no one knew about  their relationship except Jackson and Talia Bishop knew about them. In which she strongly advised they break up – which they have, and are now good friends.

And ah, take me out, and take me home (forever and ever)

You're my, my, my, my…

Lover

After their guests have left, they’ve spoken about their future together, which Tim loved to talk about. He had planned his whole life out with Lucy and their children.

He pictured them happily together forever. No matter how many guys he was jealous over when they spoke to her or made her laugh, and she’d push them away (cause she could handle them herself), but he had felt it would push her away somehow.

That’s when she assured him she’d never leave him.

Ladies and gentlemen, will you please stand?

With every guitar string scar on my hand

I take this magnetic force of a man to be my lover

Lucy hasn’t ever sung in front of her friends – or family, as she called them. Though, she wondered if they watched the American Idol episode she appeared in accidentally .

It would be hilariously embarrassing if they did, considering she was literally working at the time.

That didn’t matter now. She forgot why her brain wanted her to remember it in the first place. Now she was just admiring Tim. How an amazing man he turned out to be,

My heart's been borrowed and yours has been blue

All's well that ends well to end up with you

Tim and Lucy have both dated people, and he was married for quite some time, but their relationships ended in a not so good way every time. Yet, even with all the pain of those relationships – they ended up together happy.

Tim would cook and they would watch movies or shows together, when they could ‘cause of their crazy hours. And those were moments they lived for, the moments they could just be together.

Swear to be overdramatic and true to my lover

And you'll save all your dirtiest jokes for me

And at every table, I'll save you a seat, lover

They were loyal to each other, despite how many people flirted with them. They’d always push those people away, and then he’d whisper a dirty little joke in her ear – which made her giggle.

Every party they attended, he always saved her a seat – and vice versa. They always sat together. Or even when they went to restaurants with their friends and either of them was running a little late, they’d save each other’s seats.

Can I go where you go?

Can we always be this close forever and ever?

And ah, take me out, and take me home (forever and ever)

They were home. To each other. They both saw something no one could take away.Something, or someone , special to the other person. To the naked eye, they just seemed like a regular couple. But, no one would know the anticipation and turmoil they went through to get where they are now.

Their love was truly one of a kind. They are each other’s happily ever after.

You're my, my, my, my

Oh, you're my, my, my, my

Darling, you're my, my, my, my

Lover.

Notes:

Don't worry everyone, there's more to come!
