Chapter 1: “Men of power”

Chapter Text

"Look at this," Athena said, holding something up. Apollo frowned, "What is that?" "The thing you're going to wear to meet the leader of the tribe," she said. "It's almost transparent," Apollo commented. "All the better. Men of power always look for that sort of thing. And you, little brother, will see to it that Poseidon and his tribe of barbarians help me get my throne." "But-." "Sh, you know this isn't our home. Our home has been taken over by someone and we have to hide here. You want to go home too, don't you?" asked Athena. "Yes," said Apollo quietly. "Good, then be a good omega now and better make sure you please him," Athena said.

She gave the dress to Apollo and left the room. Apollo sighed. He dropped the dress on the floor and went to the balcony of his room. He couldn't even remember his home. All he had ever known was this, the land in which they had sought refuge. But Athena had taken it into her head to take back the throne in Olympus.

A bird sat down on the railing next to Apollo. "I wish I were as free as you," whispered the omega. The bird chirped and flew away.

An hour later, Apollo had put on the really very sheer dress, combed his hair, and put on the necklace he had been gifted at his birthday.

"You're ready?" asked Athena. "Yes," murmured Apollo. Athena lifted his chin, "Perfection. This is our best chance." "I know." "Good." They go outside, where the master of their sanctuary stood. Aeolus, an old friend of their father's. "If Poseidon doesn't take this, then I honestly have to doubt him. I've seen his first two Omegas and they're pretty, but him? If I had the means I would take him off your hands, Lady Athena." "Well my brother shall go to Poseidon though. A commandment of friendship."

At that moment a thunderous sound was heard. It was loud and getting closer. "Their horses are the best in the world," said Aeolus. Then several people rode forward. One could immediately make out the leader. He was a tall, tanned man with black, slightly graying hair. His gaze, emanating from green eyes, was critical. Unforgiving. Apollo was sure he did not want this man.

"Poseidon," said Athena. "Athena. Is this the boy? He's much too young to be mine." Good thing Poseidon thought so. "Age doesn't matter at all. He's at a capable age. I thought we were going to seal our friendship like this?" "I didn't think he was that young," Poseidon agreed. Before Athena could say anything else, Poseidon turned to the rider next to him. He looked a lot like him, but he was young and much better looking, and his look was much friendlier.

He said something in a strange language, pointing at Apollo. It took Athena a moment to understand what was happening. "I thought an alliance between the leaders of two-." "You are not a leader yet, Athena," Poseidon interrupted her. The boy he had been talking to replied something in the same strange language and then got off his horse. He walked over to Apollo and looked him in the eye for a moment before leaning closer and smelling. Equally, Apollo smelled him. It was a smell of salt water and wilderness. Kind of dangerous, but also comforting.

The alpha turned back to his people and said something in the language. Poseidon nodded, "Perseus, my son, will take your brother as his omega." Perseus. He would be mated off after all. But at least this one was the same age. Still fierce and a barbarian but the same age.

"You are ready to travel with us?" Apollo looked surprised at Athena. She hadn't mentioned that. It was going to happen right now? "We are, our horses-." "The omega rides with its alpha," Poseidon said. "Fine, "Athena said. Perseus turned to Apollo again and held out his hand.
