Chapter Text
”An assassin doesn’t decide right and wrong, only life or death,”
The words haunted Callum, he could only remember minutes after that, and it was fuzzy, the blade at his chin dropped and she broke down in tears, Claudia ran in, grabbed a thing, the elven girl was paralyzed, guards, they were always alone, Claudia hugged him. It was unlike him to have such fuzzy memories, Harrow said it was a trigger, his mom always talked about how his dad’s memories were so clear, just like his, but during stressful times while she could remember it easily, he forgot nearly half of it. He drew aimlessly until Ezran entered the room, “I found something!” Ezran told his brother.
“What is it?” Callum asked, they had ran around the castle a thousand times, so something new was exciting, “Follow me!” The young boy called out, Callum carelessly shoved his feet into his boots and followed his younger brother, they trotted amongst the halls.
“What is happening?” Soren asked, he was a year older than Callum, “Ez found something!” Callum answered, the boy joined their trot, barely staying behind the Princes, “Here,” Ezran said coming to a stop at a giant painting, Callum’s face dropped, they were in Viren’s study, they stayed clear of it usually.
Ezran grabbed the side of the painting and it swung open, they went inside the odd area, “I found this a bit ago,” Ezran admitted, he stopped at a dead end, murmuring he stated, “Rock, rock, stone, rock, stone, stone. Rock, stone, rock,” while pressing different stones in a rhythmic pattern, a staircase swung out into a spiral.
”Come on!” Ezran called, noticing his partners’ hesitation, “Just, blindly entering an eerie stairway, great idea,” Soren muttered, they slowly descended down the stairwell to find a laboratory of some sort, with disgusting pieces of animals, one or two were just floating in a jar filled with liquid, “Dad’s dark-magic-secret-lab,” Soren muttered, a snort came from an in closed area, and Callum saw the elf who refused to kill him.
