Wish you were sober

Summary:

Kazuha is drunk n Kuni is so done with him being drunk.

Work Text:

This party's sh**, wish we could dip

A midnight haired teenager frowned grumpily, deep eye bags creasing as he furrowed his brow. Why was he even here? He didn’t really have any relation with any of these people, and had a great dislike for alcohol, so why was he here at a drinking party?

“Kuniiiiii…”

Ah. That’s why.

The lightweight snow haired teenager beside him was smiling stupidly in his drunken stupor, wobbling slightly on his unsteady feet.

This stupid man and his stupid lightweight mind.

Go anywhere but here

The med student sighed as he snatched the cup from the clearly wasted teenager, tossing it over his shoulder. It’s a club so he won’t care about whether he has to clean it up.

“Kaedehara, let’s go.”

It wasn’t an invitation, but an order.

Don't take a hit, don't kiss my lips

“Kuniiiiii give it backkkk…”

The drunk clearly hadn’t noticed him tossing the drink away. Stupid Kaedehara and his stupid body getting drunk on stupid alcohol after only one stupid cup.

Kaedehara leaned further towards him, a bad move while he was still intoxicated and wobbling like jelly on his feet.

“What are you doing Kaedeha-!”

The snow haired boy giggled deliriously, tilting his head dangerously close to Kunikuzushi’s lips.

Sighing, (and internally blushing at the close proximity) Kunikuzushi pushed him away with surprising gentleness considering how he acted on a daily basis.

“Don't get so close, idiot.”

And please don't drink more beer

The teenager pouted cutely in his alcohol induced haze, making his soft cherry lips the only thing that Kunikuzushi could focus on.

His pout only helped accent his plump lips, urging Kunikuzushi to do something he would regret.

Damn it. Why was Kaedehara so cute?

I'ma crawl outta the window now

“That’s it, no more drinks, let’s go.”

He looked away, pulling the drunk by his slim yet toned arms.

'Cause I don't like anyone around
Kinda hope you're followin' me out

“Hey, Kunikuzushi! Come have some fun!” Childe grinned, pointing to the circle of people playing spin the bottle.

“No way, I’m leaving.” Kunikuzushi scowled at the ginger, waving him off with his free hand.

“Kuniiii where are you going? Are you leaving me…” Kaedehara furrowed his brow, eyes watering, glistening like stars, like the guiding light for Kunikuzushi in his heart of darkness.

“Idiot, you’re coming with me.”

But this is definitely not my crowd

“Such a wet blanket, that boy.”

“Don’t mind him, let’s continue!”

“Shame that his personality doesn’t match up to his looks.”

Gosh, Kunikuzushi hates them. Their unrealistic expectations of his character, how he should act. Well, excuse him for not wanting to get drunk at a university drinking party when he has classes the next day.

And a lightweight definitely going to be hungover roommate to look after.

Nineteen, but you act twenty-five now

“Kuni, I can walkkk! I’m not a babyyy…” the teenager whined in a rare grumpy mood that only arrived when he was drunk or furious.

“I can tell you can’t, be grateful you’re even on the ground now.”

Knees weak, but you talk pretty fly, wow

“That’s not fairrrr! I’m the taller one anywayyy you shouldn’t be helping me walkkk.”

“You’re seriously an idiot. Where’s your car.”

“In the bullseyyeee”

“What.” Kunikuzushi stopped struggling to lift the lanky male over his shoulder and instead turned to scowl at him in confusion and frustration. He just wanted to get back…

“The bullseeyyyeee when I shottt yourrr heaart”

The boy seemed rather pleased with his strange riddle, but Kunikuzushi could only twitch in anger and embarrassment, flushing furiously.

“Kaedehara Kazuha. Tell me where you parked your damn car.”

“Ooohhh scarrryy. Scarrryyy Kuniiii hehe.”

“… oh there it is.” Thank goodness sober Kaedehara was smart enough to get a noticeable spot.

Ripped jeans and a cup that you just downed

He hauled his roommate into the passenger seat as he started the ignition, the motor letting out an aggravating hum.

He wished he brought his motorcycle.

Kazuha had the audacity to giggle as he exited the stupid place.

“Stupid.”

Take me where the music ain't too loud

After a long ride of drunken giggles and sleep deprived sighs, the two made it to the apartment they shared.

Trade drinks, but you don't even know her

The weary boy tossed his ‘friend’ onto the living room couch, walking off to the kitchen.

“Kunniii where are you going…”

Save me 'til the party is over

Said boy ignored the pleas of the drunkard, slamming a glass of water and a bottle of painkillers.

“Drink this or you’ll have a killer hangover tomorrow.”

“Kuniiii…”

“Hm?”

The crimson eyed boy yanked him down forcefully, enticing a gasp from the violet eyed boy.

Kiss me in the seat of your Rover

Kazuha flipped him on the couch, enjoying how flustered Kunikuzushi looked. The midnight haired boy gulped as he did everything he could to avoid his confident gaze, his starry eyes, his silky hair…

Kazuha leaned closer.

A bit too close for friends.

Kunikuzushi couldn’t look away.

Real sweet, but I wish you were sober

The close proximity was driving Kunikuzushi crazy. He was getting addicted to Kazuha’s cologne, Kazuha’s clumsy smile, Kazuha’s loose soft locks…

He was getting addicted to Kazuha.

But he had to resist.

Pushing his ‘friend’ back onto the couch— an easy task in his drunken state— he forcefully pressed the cup into his hand, making him clasp the cup tightly and forcing him to drink it, along with the painkillers.

Kazuha pouted but complied, a sad look of longing lingering in his soft gaze, staring at Kunikuzushi, watching his every move.

I wish you were sober
(Wish you were so, wish you were so, wish you were sober)
I wish you were sober

“I have classes tomorrow, I’ll get to sleep first.” He grumbled, tossing a blanket and pillow to the boy and shutting his room door shut.

Trip down the road, walking you home
You kiss me at your door

“Wait!”

He collided with Kunikuzushi, falling over onto the floor, only the fluffy rug bracing their fall.

“Wha-“

He brought Kunikuzushi’s head close.

Pullin' me close, beg me, "Stay over"
But I'm over this roller-coaster

“Let go, Kazuha…”

I'ma crawl outta the window now
Getting good at saying, "Gotta bounce"
Honestly, you always let me down
And I know we're not just hangin' out

He pulled away, uncharacteristically gentle as he pried Kazuha’s hand off him, the male now in a half asleep state.

Nineteen, but you act twenty-five now
Knees weak, but you talk pretty fly, wow
Ripped jeans and a cup that you just downed
Take me where the music ain't too loud
Trade drinks, but you don't even know her
Save me 'til the party is over
Kiss me in the seat of your Rover
Real sweet, but I wish you were sober

He pulled Kazuha up, the boy now quietly following his arms guiding him to his room. He was always extra clingy when drunk, so this caused the other male to sigh in relief.

I wish you were sober
(Wish you were so, wish you were so, wish you were sober)
I wish you were sober
I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish
I wish you were sober
I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish
Oh, I wish you were sober

Setting him down on his bed, Kunikuzushi watched his eyes close slowly, before soft snores were heard. Gently brushing his fingers through the other’s long locks, he untangled his hair tie from the clumps of knotted hair.

“You really are an idiot.”

“Ugh…” Kazuha groaned as he entered the kitchen, clutching his head in pure agony. Slouching over the counter, he watched Kunikuzushi softly push a plate of eggs and some painkillers to him.

“Finally learned your lesson have you? Stop going to drinking parties if your such a lightweight.” Kunikuzushi scowled at the boy who only smiled gratefully at him, ignoring the sharp jabs and only seeing the good intentions of his words.

“Thanks for getting me home, I’ll consider that.”

The boy’s smile was like the sun's rays, warming Kunikuzushi’s soul.

“Finish the food and wash the dishes. You’re lucky you have no classes today.”

Pushing his glasses up his face, he walked off to the entrance and unlocked the door.

“Wait! You forgot something!”

Kunikuzushi looked back, confused. He had his book bag, laptop, lunch, coffee, what else would he need?

Kazuha ran up to him, and their lips collided.

Kunikuzushi’s eyes widened.

Kazuha smiled into the kiss.

“Happy birthday, will you be mine?”

Real sweet, but I wish you were sober

“…yes.”
