Chapter Text

The last bell rang at Kamone Academy and school was out for the day. But one boy, Akane Aoi, was not excited in the slightest. He had a Student Council meeting as usual. Though he usually likes spending time doing work in complete silence, these days… something odd has been happening to the boy. He’s been dreading having to see the Student Council President, Teru Minamoto, more than usual and he doesn’t know why. He stands in front of the door of the room and sighs. He slowly opens said door, peeking in. Of course, the President is on time, sitting and doing his paperwork. His eyes immediately notice the slightly opened door. “Ah, Aoi…! You’re awfully late! I’ve already started!” Akane’s eyes twitch as he doesn't respond to the other’s cheery words.

“Aw, are you ignoring me, Aoi~?” He said, playfully. Akane sat down at his seat, next to the President. He can’t believe the fact this guy is the Student Council President. Teru tends to act childish. It’s beyond Akane how he’s so popular. And the way he calls him ‘Aoi’… it’s just, plain annoying.

“Just let me do my work in peace.” Akane replies. He’s not sure what to make of these… newfound feelings towards the President. It’s not like the feelings of anger he used to have around him, or the fear of him stealing Ao-chan away from him. It’s like he feels calm having Teru in his presence… he squints his eyes at him.

Tolerance. The feeling is… tolerance. Probably. He sighs and looks down at his work, trying to concentrate. It’s so weird how he’s unable to concentrate because of the President, of all people. Not of Ao-chan, like normal. He’s not feeling well, that’s all. He just needs to go home and rest.

From the corner of his eye, he sees Teru spinning a pen in his hand, not doing his work either. “Aoi~ you’re slacking off~” He sang.

He feels enraged. Why does he keep repeating his name like that? The way it rolls off his tongue… it’s just-

“You’re slacking off too, dumbass.” He responds, annoyed, not only by the President, but by his own thoughts.

“There’s something on your mind! C’mon, tell me!” He puts the pen down, resting his head on the palms of his hands and intently looks at Akane.

“It… it doesn’t concern you.” He lied. It solely concerns him.

“Haha, you’re so funny, Aoi~” He laughed and giggled under his breath. His smile was so bright, why did he have to smile like that? It was just so…!

“I didn’t say anything funny, you idiot…”

“I know. You’re just so silly~” He’s been way more playful than usual. He seems to be in a good mood. He smiled once more, and the way his eyes fluttered every time he blinked… it just was just too…

“Annoying…”

“Hmm..? What was that, Aoi?”

“Annoying! You’re so damn annoying!”

“Youch-! You wound me, dear!” Teru responded, acting hurt, bringing his hand to his chest as if he were pierced through the heart.

“Good, then.” He chose to ignore the fact Teru called him ‘dear’. What was he even thinking, saying that so casually?!

He just smiled in response. Could he get even more annoying?! How did he have half the school wrapped around him and his good looks! Him being pretty doesn't mean anything when his personality is shit. God, people could be so simple-minded.

Ah. It hit Akane. He just called Teru pretty. Albeit, in his head, but still. The fact he would admit that. It… irritated him more than anything. I mean, it’s fine to think that, right? He was undeniably good looking. That was a fact, not an opinion or anything. Christ, what was Akane even thinking about? It’s not like Teru heard him so why is he being so defensive about it? There’s nothing wrong with thinking a good-looking person is good-looking! So why is he still thinking about it? He immediately pushed these thoughts away and tried thinking about Ao-chan to distract himself. He groaned out loud, because his heart wasn’t fluttering at the thought of Aoi like normal.

‘You’re just tired, Akane. Go home early.’ He thought to himself, but Akane didn’t want to go home. A part of him wanted to stay.

He didn’t finish any paperwork that day.
