Chapter Text
Disliking someone is natural, even more in LifeSteal SMP. It’s unavoidable. Some may even share a common enemy, an enraging and threatening individual to all. It’s a part of being human, alive to be exact knowing the diversity of hybrids on this server.
People crave hearts specifically on this server, as you may obtain and lose them as you get killed or you die. It’s an evaluation of your strength or past. Mappic and Roshambo possess a large amount of those, indicating their murderous actions.
The ones with low hearts are either overall weak and clumsy people, or, well that is it actually. Vulnerable. Zam is considered as pretty strong, as he is currently on thirteen hearts.
But we’re talking about materialistic meanings, physical behavior. What about the one heart always present, but often given as a form of trust ? Stolen, torn apart, broken when it comes to betrayal.
It’s simple to get attached to another being, even more easy to destroy the emotional connection. But repairing it, it is rare. Everyone has a certain degree of trust issues, Zam having quite severe paranoia and overthinking problems. You’d think there is no way to salvage anything back to its initial state.
Only a Saint sent from Above, from Space, could ever accomplish so. Planet. Zam trusted him, got betrayed by him before loving him wholeheartedly.
He blew up his base, erased his labor, insulted cruelly the design, shown himself as untrustworthy. Zam had three options as the aftermath : killing him, finding him and giving his stuff and heart back, or wait impatiently for Planet to give info.
For nearly two hours, he was left pending dreadfully and doubting of Planet. Any semblance of reasons behind this act was beyond his understanding, and each detail were to be examinated very precisely, too precisely.
But eventually, he was greeted to what he could now call ‘home’. Planet reconstructed basically everything, even upgraded the main part. He felt like crying. Words couldn’t express his relief or insanely large amount of gratitude rushing through his body.
Subz and Vitalasy were just as glad of it, very much content. They had thanked him, hugged him, complimented him, gave him a heart, nothing could align with the great value of safety and freedom.
Today though, Zam was meeting up with Planet to coordinates he had sent about fifteen minutes ago. For once in his life, he didn’t overthink. Didn’t doubt, didn’t hesitate, didn’t prepare himself. He blindly trusted this man. He was and always will be trustworthy.
Even when he thought he might have worked with his enemies, he refused to hurt him. He couldn’t possibly do that. No matter his morales or wish of revenge, he didn’t want that ending. There isn’t a second to this day he even considers regretting his choice.
———Zam’s POV———
“Hi !” Planet greeted me with a wide grin, enlightening my face. My heart was already warm with a familiar happiness near this angelic presence. He didn’t have to be cool and push himself to exhaustion, but he did.
“Hey.” His smile was terribly contagious and I ended up giggling. Before Planet gifted me such an important feeling of security, I had nearly lost the sense of peace. A calm state of mind.
It used to be nightmarish storms in the middle of a dangerous ocean. Now, it’s gentle waters with a bright sun and bright blue sky. My life has become the sky. Planet is my sun.
“Anything I can help you with ?” I offered, reddening his face with embarrassment. He gestured me towards the trunk of a tree and I somehow understood his message.
I sat against it criss-crossed, my back being supported by rather comfy moss. The grass on the ground was quite comfortable. Planet sat next to me, bringing his legs to his chest indicating some sense of shame.
“You see uh, Bacon and Jaron are both working on a ridiculously long and nerve-wracking project.” He admitted openly before trailing off, undoubtedly expecting me to finish his sentence.
I had an idea of where he was going to. “You wanted some company, Planet ?” I inquired in a laugh, and he clung to his knees even more, burying his face. Teasing him with care is rewarding, as his reactions are always modest or shy. It is a reminder of his sweet and generous heart, and his younger mindset. He’s very mature for his age, but sometimes he lets some form of clumsy behavior slip, and I love it when it does.
He was very obviously avoiding my soft gaze when he spoke up in a low murmur. “Yeah…” He mumbled, seeming ashamed of himself. In response, I shifted to glue myself to him. My side touched his, his legs touched mine. He appeared genuinely surprised and appreciative. “Thanks…”
I couldn’t stop smiling even if I wanted to, but it feels nice to be fragile near someone. “You deserve the world, Planet. I love you so much.” I admitted, and I saw a few tears forming in the corner of his eyes.
With an honest smile on his lips, he was crying. Tears of joy. The creation of beauty. The beauty of heartwarming and caring friendship. People always interpret such emotion as love, but they do not understand how powerful a relationship can be without romance nor blood-related individuals.
“Oh come here.” I opened my arms with trust at unforeseen length, his body slotting onto mine. I closed my arms around him and tightened the grip, a safe place for him and I. I could hear a few silent sobs, but didn’t bother to intervene.
I shut my eyes and let the warmth of Planet soothe my true heart, while the gentle breeze brushed the foliage around us in a melodious rhythm. Peace had a succulent taste to it and I will cherish it.
I loved how comforting his chest felt on mine, how appeased he seemed, how satisfied I was. He had enlightened me, my little ray of sunshine.
I felt him settle more comfortably in my lap, his face as red as ever. “Sorry.” He apologized and I felt almost offended he felt the need to.
“Don’t apologize. This is nice.” I dismissed, admitting how pleasurable this moment is. He laughed and I relished in the sound of it. He dried his face with his hands, before getting off me and going back to his initial position. Who knows how long that hug lasted, but it didn’t matter.
He slided not so subtly his right leg between mine, realizing what he wanted. With a low giggle, I took his arm gently and laid it on my chest, pressing it into my own. I felt his own surprise, though eventually he grew comfortable.
He laid his head on my shoulder as a sign of complete trust, making me bathe in contentment. He leaned further more against me. “Good night, Planet.” I said brightly, the other man already dozing off.
“Good night, Zam.” He retorted with a lazy voice, before he drifted off to a slumber I hope will be refreshing. After a minute of positive contemplation and thoughts about our friendship, I myself fell asleep.
My last sight was gorgeous, as I realized dandelions were shining around us with the rays of the beautiful sun. I’ll let you decide if you are talking about the star or my own star.
