Work Text:

Where he rose, she fell

though, she dwells

maybe he still smokes my malbro red

It was an april night, a strange and cold one.

she had been on her balcony, gently smoking off her malboro red.

"Still smoking, i see"

Shoko stayed silent, looking ahead at the horizon.

"Aren't you a criminal?" she paused.

"what do you want with me?" She said casually, as she would have said at any thursday.

"I'm just here to try my luck" He answered with a light expression plastered on his face just like many years ago,

one that once, was genuine.

'I should ask if you're innocent" She blew off the last word while looking at the pretty circles of smoke that framed his pretty face.

"unfortunatly, no"

"should i ask why you did it?"

"i want to create a world only for jujutsu sorcerers"

Shoko hummed along his words and finally looked back at him before finally asking him;

"why did you leave?"

Geto smiled before blowing off a warm circle of smoke to her face.

He did not answer.

until he did.

"i'm not a child anymore, i don't expect people to understand me"

He reciprocated her stare before leaning over her and gently pressing the bright tip of his cigarette to her burning one.

like a kiss, he said,

An intimate sign of commemoration,

reserved for her,

not for gojo,

not for anyone else

Her lids slightly dropped as the bags under her eyes creased.

"shouldn't do that, Suguru" she called him by his name after many years, still tasting like burnt cinnamon on her tongue.

"I know, Shoko" he smiled hautingly, the moon glistened on his pretty face,

pretty eyes, pretty everything.

She exhaled and flicked her cigar off the balcony "I'm going to sleep, suit yourself"

His eyes followed her frame to the bathroom where she quickly brushed off off her tongue the bitter mix of cinnamon and cigar.

As Shoko steps out, he gently walks up behind her, wraps his arms around her sternum "Haven't missed me?".

She looks up and stares.

he takes her chin and directs her face to the mirror, facing their reflection.

He rests his chin on the crown of her head and smiles.

Silent follows and finally, she softly squeezes his hand.

is this her silent answer?

His grin widened "you did."

She escapes his embrace and prepares herself for bed.

her head hits her pillow, ashfall eyes slowly start to close,

but in her haze, she searches his face for something before sliding off to sleep.

He stares at her unmoving figure for\

seconds

minutes

hours

wearing that disgustingly peaceful expression.

Yet, it was an april night, a strange and cold one.

And that night, he stayed,

on her balcony

waiting.
