Every morning Diluc found flowers on his window seal , sometimes a note or a small gift wrapped around it but there were always flowers . Calla lilies , diluc’s favorite.. they reminded him of better times
Whenever he could find the free time Ajax would collect calla lilies , tonight as he walked along the trail through the forest he wrapped a cloth around the flowers . The cloth in question was a piece of his scarf that had gotten caught in a fence and torn off . After neatly wrapping the cloth around the flowers he kissed the leaves gently “...oh ..what I would do to kiss you..” he spoke under his breath , a gentle sign .
Walking up to the house of the one he held so dear he made his way to the back window . Taking a short blade from his pocket he jammed it into a small hole in the wall , he marks from every night before making it easy to climb up .
As he got up to the window he peered inside . Inside was dark , the only light coming from the window which he was looking through . lying on the bed was Diluc , his long hair loose , and messy , laying over the pillow , Diluc’s peaceful face as he slept . no matter how many times he saw it , it always made ajax’s heart melt , if only he could lay in the bed too.. He tried once to get in but diluc wasnt a heavy sleeper .
The lock on the window was broken , Diluc had replaced it many times but everynight ajax found it fixed it would just stab his dagger in until it broke and allowed him to open it from the outside. Ajax opened the window , being as quiet as he could be.
He stared , he stared till he felt the tears coming again , crying was the last thing he wanted to do..
Ajax placed the flowers tied up in cloth on the window seal . He looked back into the room , his eyes landing on the calla lilies in a vase , diluc had been taking care of them , all of them . it was the closest thing to a relationship that ajax would get with diluc , he knew that the second diluc found out he was the one leaving the flowers diluc would burn all of them..
Maybe it was better diluc didnt know it was ajax , he thought. Ajax had convinced himself that this was enough.
Without thinking much, Ajax tightened his grip on his dragger, stabbing it into the window seal . ‘I love you’ he wrote , the window seal was covered in short notes and drawings ajax made . He never got any kind of reply to these notes but it made him feel heard.
Diluc shifted in his bed , mumbling quietly and pulling the blankets up over himself . Ajax’s head shot up , watching . He looked down to the flowers on the window seal . smiled a bit . and used the blade to get down from the high window , dragging it along the wood of the house .
Once the sun rose, so did Diluc . sitting up in bed he stretched . rubbing the tiredness from his eyes he looked over to the window . the sun shining in . and a few flowers on the window seal. He smiled gently , it wasn't even a surprise nor something he looked forward to but he didn't hate it . as he got up he took the flowers , noticing a cloth around them , it seemed oddly familiar.. But he couldnt pin it .
Unwrapping the flowers he placed them with the rest . walking back over to his bed where he sat down and looked at the cloth . He smelled it but not much of a scent was felt , the wind from the night must have taken it . he placed the cloth on the nightstand , later he’ll look more into it..
