Chapter Text

Charles is not like other omegas. Charles is not like omega in general that is usually found in society.

Charles didn't like getting Alphas' attention. Unlike the usual omega, they're happy and proud when alphas stared at them with desire. Charles always felt uncomfortable when alphas looked at him like that.

Charles didn't like to make his scent spread, that's why he studied how to make his own scent blockers and scent neutralizers.

Born and growing up in a pack that still upholds culture, Charles had to keep his skill to make scent blockers, a secret. Because things like that were very taboo there. Scent, and instinct are part of every being, so they must be able to accept and be proud of it. -Charles' pack alpha always said that at the opening of every pack meeting.

Charles would be in trouble if his weekly little activity was leaked. Let alone if they found out he was wearing it to hide his own scent.

That's why the activity of picking herbs and making scent blockers is a secret that he really protects and just keep it to himself.

Charles always made sure he picked herbs when everyone else was busy, and made them in the middle of the night, so things like surprise guests, could be avoided.

Charles was trying to make himself invisible, and unnoticed. Trying to blend with his surroundings.

Everything was going well, everything was going according to plan, and as he wanted. Until one day, his heat came earlier, and the usual herbs around his pack's territory couldn't neutralize the scent of his heat which was stronger than his usual normal scent.

So Charles immediately packed up early in the morning, away from the time the pack usually started its activities, so that no one would notice his heat, and his intention to cross the territory border.

Charles sprayed his usual neutralizer all over his body, desperately trying to cover up his heat scent which was getting stronger.

With a deep heavy sigh, Charles finally ready to came out of the house, and started walking quickly but quietly through the houses and main buildings of the pack, occupied by pack alpha, pack omega, and other pack superior.

His heart couldn't calm down before he made it across the border. His heart was pounding, and his hands were trembling slightly with nervousness. After what seemed like an eternity, finally the border could be seen from where he was walking.

Once he passes through a few of these houses, then he'll successfully cross the border of the pack.

Once again with his deep sigh, he slowly stepped his foot out of the border.

Turning around, combing the area and looking to the right and left for the last time, making sure no one saw him, Charles immediately trotted off trying to be as quiet as possible, into the forest, away from his pack's territory.

What he didn't know was that a pair of eyes had just witnessed him crossing the border, and the owner of the eye immediately ran towards the main building of the pack.

***

Charles comes from an old-fashioned pack located in the middle of the forest, far from any reach. The pack still upholds their traditions, culture and antiquity.

One of the cultures passed down from generation to generation that was the reason Charles made his own scent blockers was, the culture of alpha and omega matchmaking which is still carried out by his pack.

When an omega is experiencing their first heat, they must mating immediately. If they don't have a partner, the pack will find an alpha for them. Alpha from the pack, or alpha of neighboring packs and allied packs.

Because Charles always covered up his natural scent since he was young, so he never found an alpha interested in him, let alone intending to court him and make him a mate.

Because of that, Charles covered up the fact that he had experienced heat, even several times already. Because he doesn't want to mate with an alpha he doesn't love, and bond with them just because of a mark.

Charles always studying how to make his scent blockers herbs upgraded to cover his omega scent which grew stronger as he grew older, and the fact that there was still no alpha to claim him.

All this time Charles thought that he had fooled everyone, saying that he had not yet had his first heat, and had made himself invisible and inconspicuous. But because of that too, he realized that sooner or later the pack alpha would still find an alpha for him, to test his omega instincts, and try to triggered his heat.

***

Charles panted, sweat starting to form on his forehead. The heat effect started to affect him, and he ran as fast as possible in a short time really draining his energy. He stopped, and leaned against a big tree, then opened his bag, and drank his water hastily. After regaining his breath he immediately continued on his way.

After walking deep into the forest, Charles shuddered even more, he realized he was walking further away from his pack, and of all people. He realized what he was doing was very risky and dangerous. But he was determined he would never give up on tradition, and gave himself up to be claimed by a random alpha.

Charles walked briskly, focused on the goal in front of him, and then he heard a tree branch break under someone's foot. Without thinking and without looking back, he immediately ran as fast as he could. His heart was beating so fast, it felt like he might pass out at any time due to exhaustion and because the heat effect was getting more and more overwhelming.

He felt something that had stepped on the tree branch followed him, even running to catch up with him. Charles' mind was in a mess, he was very panicked and scared. The heat effect makes him even more vulnerable.

The sound of running was getting closer, Charles forced his heavy legs to keep running and running, trying to get away from whatever was chasing him.

Until something grabbed his shoulder from behind, and made him scream in surprise. The pull was so strong, Charles' body turned around easily.

Charles stood frozen watching someone, clearly an alpha, stare at Charles with his darkened eyes full of desire in his gaze. He stared at Charles hungrily.

Charles felt his breath hitch, fear overtook him, his heat scent now mixed with scents of fear and distress floated in the air. Charles squeezed the strap of his bag, looking back at the alpha who was grinning at him.

"P-please just let me go .." Charles pleaded. The alpha's grip on his shoulder grew even tighter, Charles groaning in pain

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry I entered your territory without permission." Charles trying to remain calm.

"I can make you pay for it." Answer the alpha with a low growl.

The alpha seemed to close his eyes, then took a deep breath, enjoying Charles' scent, and clearly trying to scent him. Charles shuddered and struggled to free himself as the alpha pulled him into his arms with ease. Charles screamed, hitting the alpha in the chest as hard as he could. "Please! Just let me go! let me go!" Charles screamed, he felt his body getting weaker under the alpha's touch. Charles was crying.

What happened?

Why is this happening?

Charles didn't give up, he kicked, and punched whatever he could get his hands on, before his omega instinct gave in and submitted to the dominant alpha in front of him.

"Help! Help! Please .. help me .." Charles' scream was desperate and painful, he knew very well no one would hear him deep in the woods like this.

"Be quiet. I won't hurt you." The Alpha said with a growl. A warning.

Lie. Charles thought. Charles could clearly smell lust in his scent.

"I'll let you go after I help you." Continued the alpha, now starting to let go of his embrace on Charles.

Charles tried to let go of his hand the alpha was holding, to no avail. It didn't even budge a bit.

"I don't need help! I will .. I will handle it myself." Charles said with his voice clearly shaking. The alpha laughed, looking at Charles with sparkling eyes. "Why do it yourself when there's an alpha in front of you offering to help? such a pity, I won't let an omega suffer like that." The alpha chirped, then started walking, pulling Charles with him.

Charles rebelled, he bent down, picked up a rock to throw at the alpha. Now the alpha is mad, he's growling. Charles looked down in fear. His omega instincts screamed at him to submit to the dominant alpha in front of him.

"P-please just .. just end me." Charles said, sobbed cut his words. He rather die than get touched by random alpha in the woods like this.

The alpha sigh, getting closer to Charles, Charles tense immediately, looked at him warily.

"I was going to honor you by bringing you to my den and giving you some food before doing that. But I guess you forced me to do it here." Charles shook his head, rebelling again. With one move, the alpha pinned him to the ground. Charles screamed, kicked, hit him with all his might.

Charles felt that he was getting tired, strength began to leave his body.

How ironic. He was in this situation because he was trying to protect himself from the 'random alpha' the pack chose for him. But because of that, now he'll become omega of the real random alpha.

An alpha he had never met before.

An alpha who didn't even bother to ask his name.

Tears fell down Charles' cheeks. He cursed himself, blamed himself, and regretted his decision to go looking for herbs so far from his pack's territory without any company, and clearly at the peak of his heat.

'If only ..'

Charles closed his eyes, tears streaming down his face. Charles stopped resisting, his hands and feet trembling and numb with fear.

'If only I decided not to go today ..' Charles sobbed.
