Work Text:

Mahiru sighed and handed Hajime the tray of food. She looked exhausted to say the least, so he simply took it and asked, “What’s this for?”

The photographer chuckled and glanced around the dining hall before leaning in and whispering, “Komaeda. Just go to the old building and you’ll figure it out.”

Hajime raised an eyebrow and frowned, clearly having no idea of what was going on. Nonetheless, he made his way to the old building and wandered around, before hearing a muffled grunt from inside the dining hall. He pressed his ear to the closed doors, furrowing his brows in thought. Hajime sighed and gave a light shrug to himself before awkwardly shifting the tray to his other hand to knock on the door with the other. The only answer he received were muffled words, and shuffling. Curious, he opened the door and walked in, cautiously holding the tray in front of him, though he almost dropped it in shock of what lay before him.

Nagito was chained up next to the table, a tattered cloth muffling his words. His eyes lit up at the sight of Hajime, and he made an attempt to get up and greet him, but it proved futile due to his restraints. Who did this, anyway? Hajime stood in the doorway for a moment, analyzing the situation before taking a cautious step forward. He walked towards the bound up man and knelt down, narrowing his eyes at him in suspicion as he rested the tray down on the floor. Hajime opened his mouth to speak before remembering that Nagito still had that cloth covering his mouth, so he reached forward and undid it, sliding it off of his face as he unintentionally made eye-contact. Nagito quickly looked away, sighing in relief as the cloth had been removed. “Thank you,” he muttered, before looking up at Hajime with expectant eyes. Hajime wasn’t sure what he wanted, so he stood up and walked away, though he was quickly stopped by the white haired man’s voice.

“W-Wait!” He exclaimed breathily, causing Hajime to turn around in confusion.

“What?”

Nagito glanced down at the tray of food awkwardly before returning his gaze to Hajime, looking almost bashful.

“How am I meant to eat with my hands tied up?” He asked, catching the brunet a little off guard.

Hajime looked between the tray and Nagito before shrugging. “Figure it out.”

Nagito grumbled and turned away from him, making Hajime chuckle in amusement.

“Fine, fine,” He replied, giving in as he knelt down next to Nagito and examined the chains binding his hands together behind his back. It looked uncomfortable, and definitely impossible to eat with.

Hajime swallowed dryly. “Roll over,” He muttered, feeling his face warm up. The white haired man’s gaze instantly reached Hajime, his eyes slightly wide and lips parted, even his face was a little flushed.

“Huh?” He questioned, clearly taken aback by the seemingly irrelevant request. Hajime understood why he was so confused, so he quickly explained, “I-I mean like, to take the chains off.”

Nagito seemed to understand after that, judging by his muttered apology before rolling over on his stomach. Hajime now knelt beside him, one leg threatening to swing over Nagito’s body so that he could be on top of him, though he quickly banished the thought. The bound man wiggled his wrists to get Hajime’s attention, since the brunet seemed to have lost his train of thought for a second.

“Right,” he whispered, mostly to himself as he took hold of the chains, attempting to unravel them. However, it wasn’t as easy as he thought it’d be, and it seems like whoever tied him up did a rather impressive job.

Hajime groaned, “Who even tied you up like this?”

Nagito chuckled lightly, before responding, “Kazuichi. He said I was ‘dangerous’ and ‘needed to be locked up.’”

Hajime’s fingers briefly stopped their movements, as he took in the new information. “Oh,” he replied simply, before sighing and letting go of the chains.

“No wonder it’s tied so well. I can’t untie you, sorry.” Nagito’s eyebrows raised in shock, before chuckling breathily.

“It’s fine… But, what am I meant to do now?” he questioned, as Hajime thought up an answer. He was able to find one way that would work, but should he even suggest it? He pondered it for a moment, glancing at Nagito and meeting his hopeful stare. Hajime sighed and decided to just say it.

“I could… feed you.” Nagito’s face grew red, along with Hajime’s—judging by the sudden warmth he could feel in his cheeks.

The white haired man stammered for a response, eventually ending up on a simple, “Okay!” Hajime nodded and pulled the tray of food closer towards them, scooching back to rest the tray in between them. Tan fingers picked up the fork, trying his best to focus on the way the metal shone under the light, instead of the man who lay in front of him, staring at him expectantly. He picked up some food and held the fork in front of Nagito’s mouth, staring at his lips (To see when he’d eat it, obviously. No other reason.) His mouth slowly opened, and Hajime realized that watching his lips was making it even harder to maintain his composure, so he snapped his gaze up to Nagito’s eyes. It seemed like he was already staring at Hajime, making direct eye contact as he bit down on the food, his eyelids fluttering closed briefly as he chewed, before swallowing. The brunet’s eye’s were lured to his soft, pale neck, as his Adam's apple bobbed with the swallow.

Nagito almost looked smug as he waited for Hajime to pick up some more food, again repeating the same process as last time, though this time a bit faster. The air felt heavy, and Hajime couldn’t prevent a slight smile from forming on his lips as he watched Nagito eat from the fork he held. The pale man quickly noticed, and his face flushed a light shade of red. As Hajime kept feeding him, they sat in a comfortable silence, though there was also some unavoidable tension from the situation. Surprisingly, they finished the food pretty quickly, but on the last bite of food, Nagito locked eyes with Hajime, leaned up to reach the fork, and licked it. A warm blush enveloped the brunet’s face, and despite how much he wanted to look away, he couldn’t seem to ignore the man in front of him. Nagito’s gaze was far too sultry for this to be considered 'typical behavior', and it caused Hajime’s mind to spiral.

“W-What was that for?” Hajime asked, mentally cursing himself for stumbling over his words like that. Nagito only smirked and replied, feigning innocence.

“What exactly did I do, Hinata-kun?”

Hajime furrowed his brows as the other leaned back in, presumably to lick the fork again. He pulled it away at the last second with a sharp chuckle, almost teasing him. Suddenly it felt like the atmosphere had shifted, and they both definitely noticed the change. Nagito was still bound and laying on the floor, so he wasn’t able to do much to fire back at Hajime, aside from simply scowling at him and rolling his eyes, though the shade of red dusting his face wordlessly told the brunet that he wasn’t really angry. Hajime smiled in endearment, gently caressing the other’s cheek with his thumb, causing Nagito’s eyes to snap to his, though it’s not like he didn’t welcome the touch. In fact, he leaned into it and almost nuzzled his hand like a cat.

Hajime chuckled and finally asked the question that he’d been dying to ask for what felt like forever.

“How are you ever going to get out of these chains?”

The white haired man shrugged nonchalantly and glanced behind him at the restraints.

“I don’t know. I’ll just wait until Kazuichi releases me!” He replied with a smile that Hajime could only describe as utterly adorable. Though his words were a little concerning.

“That could take forever! You can’t live here for that long,” Hajime replied with his brows furrowed slightly in concern.

“Listen,” the brunet began, crossing his arms over his chest, “I’m gonna try and undo the chains one more time, and if I fail, I’ll just call Kazuichi and force him to free you.”

Nagito seemed a little surprised at his determination, but only smiled and shrugged, “If that’s what you want.”

Hajime nodded and gestured for the other man to turn over, his command quickly being followed soon after. This time, his thoughts seemed to get the better of him, and he swung a leg over the other side of Nagito, now straddling him as the pale man lay on his stomach beneath him. Nagito made a small noise of surprise, but stayed silent after that, as Hajime continued to work on undoing the chains. He actually managed to undo it for the most part, though there was one section that just wasn’t coming loose. The brunet leaned down, his body now mostly pressed against Nagito’s back as he focused on the chains, completely unaware of the position. Nagito swallowed nervously, a heavy blush overtaking his face as he glanced back at Hajime, wondering what he was doing.

“I-Is it working?” the white haired man asked, though his voice came out in a tentative whisper. Hajime tore his gaze from the chains and stared back, nodding calmly.

“Mostly, there’s just this one part that I need to fix. After that, you should be free.” Hajime smiled softly and looked expectantly at Nagito for a response.

“Ah, okay. That’s… That’s good.”

Hajime eventually undid the chains completely, and lifted them off of Nagito’s wrists, eying the red marks that were left behind. He furrowed his brows and tossed the chains to the side, lifting one of his wrists to look closer at. He made eye contact with Nagito, and almost unconsciously leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to the reddened skin. Nagito instantly felt his face heat up, and a deep blush overtook his face. He chose not to say anything, not wanting to ruin whatever the atmosphere of whatever this was. Hajime got off of him, and Nagito sat up properly, moving his arms around a bit to stretch. The brunet watched as his shirt lifted up slightly, exposing the pale skin underneath as he stretched. Nagito met his gaze and raised an eyebrow, leaning towards him and resting his hands on the carpet.

“Hinata-kun…” he whispered, eyes travelling from one eye to the other, down to his lips, and occasionally to his neck. Hajime noticed this and flushed a deep shade of red, looking right back at him.

“Yes, Komaeda?” he whispered back, a subtle but smug smile playing on his lips.

Nagito narrowed his eyes, as if to decide whether he should do this or not. His slender fingers grabbed Hajime’s shirt collar and hastily pulled him in closer, now staring directly at his lips.

“Can I kiss you?” the pale man whispered, gently caressing his neck. Hajime’s eyes widened at the sudden boldness, but quickly nodded, wrapping his arms around Nagito’s waist as he leaned in, tilting his head. Hajime couldn’t remember who started it, all he knew was that Nagito’s lips were on his own, and he held him in his arms delicately. The white haired man wrapped his arms around the other’s neck, pulling him even closer and delighting in the small grunt that came from Hajime’s lips at the sudden pull. Hajime explored the other’s mouth, resulting in the other smiling into the kiss. The brunet gently pushed him down, crawling on top of Nagito and pulling away from the kiss briefly so that he could admire him properly.

“You’re so beautiful…” Hajime whispered, panting slightly as he looked down at Nagito, who just blushed and looked away bashfully.

“Then kiss me some more,” Nagito teased, smiling seductively as he placed a hand on the other’s cheek, tilting his head down.

Hajime chuckled and leaned down, face flushed as he spoke breathily, “How greedy…” The other’s face flushed warmly and leaned up, connecting their lips in a kiss that somehow felt both tender and passionate at the same time. Their actions were gentle and sweet, but the atmosphere felt hot and heavy. So hot and heavy that they didn’t even notice the footsteps nearing the room, until the door had already flung open, a stunned Sonia standing in it. They both looked up, eyes wide and hearts racing as the three stared at each other. For Sonia, she’d just walked in on Hajime straddling Nagito while they made out in the old building. And for the other two, they’d just been caught making out in said old building.

“I-” Nagito began, his face fully red as he tried to get the words out, only to be interrupted by Sonia.

“Aaah! I’m so sorry to interrupt! I only came to retrieve Hajime, since Mahiru was searching for him! I-I shall inform her of your… whereabouts.” She stuttered, clearly trying to keep her princessly mannerisms despite the situation. Hajime chuckled and got off of Nagito, finding it a little weird to just stay put when they were positioned like that.

“Ah, I-I see…” he replied awkwardly, barely even getting to say anything before Sonia quite literally ran out of the whole building. The brunet looked over to Nagito with a flustered expression, meeting his gaze and finding that the other had a similarly shocked face. After a moment of stunned staring, they both burst out laughing, bright smiles now painting their faces beautifully. They laughed loudly, leaning on each other for support.

“T-That was interesting…” Nagito said between spurts of laughter, smiling a brighter smile than Hajime had ever seen on him.

“Yeah,” Hajime spoke, panting slightly, “I feel kinda bad for Sonia.” Nagito giggled and nodded in agreement, sitting against the wall and patting the space beside him. Hajime complied and sat next to him, smiling as Nagito rested his head on the other’s shoulder. The room felt so peaceful at that moment. It’s like nothing else existed but them, sitting together calmly.

They were both a bit disappointed that Sonia had to walk in on that moment, ruining the atmosphere a little, but it was fine. It was all okay, because they were still together. Still sitting peacefully, embracing each other’s warmth. They should probably go talk to Mahiru soon, but neither of them wanted to move. So they didn’t.
