Work Text:
In Jirou’s life, nothing was constant nor consistent. Except him. Denki Kaminari. A decently popular guy who spent his free time at school trying to get her to go out with him.
It was confusing. At first, she thought it was a huge joke or some bet with his friends because why would a guy like him ever want to go out with a girl like her? Jirou dressed in what most people would consider an “alternative” style. Dark, almost grunge-looked clothing, chunky jewelry, thick or smudged eyeliner, the works. She quickly realized that he was completely serious.
He flirted with her as much as he possibly could without weirding her out, walked her to her classes, held her bag for her, horribly flirted with her, and asked her out a pathetic number of times.
Honestly, Kaminari just seemed desperate and that amused her.
She never gave him a straight answer, it was always a maybe. At this point, he was just begging her to go out with him, just this once.
Today started as it usually did, he found her and insisted that he walk her from second to third period, holding her bag as he did so. “You look pretty today!” He said, a slight hum in his voice.
“Thank you.” She had tried a little harder than usual, so even though the compliment was normal to hear from him, it was appreciated.
“So, what are you doing this weekend?” He asked and Jirou already knew where this was going. She would humor him though.
“Nothing really. Why?” She knew why.
“Well, I got tickets to this thing. And I thought you would really like it! It’s like-“
“Spit it out.” She cut him off.
“It’s a concert. Do you want to come with me?”
A concert? She had let this guy get to know her too well. She just couldn’t refuse a concert. “I guess. Got nothing better to do.”
Jirou watched as the blonde’s eyes practically lit up. A wide smile tugged at the corners of his lips. “And your number?” He asked.
“You’re pushing it, but fine.” She held out her hand and Kaminari was quick to open a new contact on his phone and hand it to her. By the time he had typed it in, they were at her class.
“I’ll pick you up Saturday night then!” Jirou took her bag from him and gave him a little smile before she walked in.
“Whatever, see you then.” It wasn’t like she liked him or anything, or did she?
