Work Text:
A Million Different People
Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, that's life
Tryna make ends meet, you're a slave to money then you die
I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down
You know the one that takes you to the places where all the veins meet, yeah
Zoro grunted as he looked around the dojo. His students done for the day, his head bobbed to the angsty song. Bittersweet, huh? He knew exactly how that felt. His thoughts went towards a cop with a blue bob, who never seemed to come around anymore.
Since he screwed everything by sleeping with her.
No change, I can change
I can change, I can change
But I'm here in my mold
I am here in my mold
But I'm a million different people
From one day to the next
I can't change my mold
No, no, no, no, no
(Have you ever been down?)
She sighed as she sat outside the dojo. She was a coward. She’d gotten him, and it was everything she wanted but of course she fucking blew it. Sneaking out at 5 am, and then not showing her face to him for two months. Really brave Tashigi. Her mother would be turning in her grave. All this over a man. And, well, the other thing too.
Well, I've never prayed but tonight I'm on my knees, yeah
I need to hear some sounds that recognize the pain in me, yeah
I let the melody shine, let it cleanse my mind, I feel free now
But the airwaves are clean and there's nobody singin' to me now
His thoughts turned to that night. Was he bad? She was great. When she was on her knees… No. Don’t think about that. It wasn’t happening again. There was nobody else for him. God, why was this song getting to him so much?
No change, I can change
I can change, I can change
But I'm here in my mold
I am here in my mold
And I'm a million different people
From one day to the next
I can't change my mold
No, no, no, no, no
(Have you ever been down?)
I can't change, oh, no
I can't change, oh
As the green haired swordsman left the dojo, her resolve hardened. As she strode over she saw his face turn to surprise then shock as he strode over and pulled her into searing kiss. She smiled before pulling back, quickly putting her finger on his lips, “Roronoa, we need to talk. Can I drive you home?”
'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, that's life
Tryna make ends meet, tryna find somebody then you die
I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down
You know the one that takes you to the places where all the veins meet, yeah
As soon as they got into the car her lips uttered those words. The words that would change his life forever. She looked over at the love of her life and his face of actual joy (completely disconcerting. He was a smirker. Not a smiler.)
You know I can change, I can change
I can change, I can change
But I'm here in my mold
I am here in my mold
And I'm a million different people
From one day to the next
I can't change my mold
No, no, no, no, no
The wedding was agreed upon that night and done with minimal fuss a couple of weeks later. Zoro had never thought he’d get married but as he looked at his bride, he can’t say that he regretted it. She was ethereal in her dress, escorted by Smoker and trailed by Hina, Isuka, Robin and Nami, whilst Luffy, Ace, Franky and Usopp stood next to him.
I can't change my mold
No, no, no, no, no,
I can't change my mold, no, no, no, no
It's just sex and violence, melody and silence
It's just sex and violence, melody and silence
I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down
I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down
Been down
Ever been down
Ever been down
Ever been down
Ever been down
Have you ever been down?
Have you ever been down?
Have you ever been down?
He was pretty sure his hand was broken at this point. He wasn’t going to complain (oh no, he’s pretty sure it would be met with icy glares at this point). Four hours later, a teal haired girl with black eyes arrived, her name, of course, Kuina.
