Work Text:

It's no secret that the elders from the Gojo clan despise you. You, a civilian, someone who can't even see curses, married to the strongest sorcerer? To Gojo Satoru? It caused quite an uproar in the jujutsu society, just the way Gojo wanted. You know he never listened to them in the first place, so it was no surprise that he would never consider their proposals of an arranged marriage to some big name sorcerer. He is no pawn for them to wield in their twisted game of chess. He's your husband, only yours. And better yet, he is the father of adorable twin boys. Nothing his clan can offer him would come even close to what he has now. You've seen the way his eyes turn frosty when he mentions the higher ups of the jujutsu world which include the elders of his clan who are big players. Gojo doesn't share anything regarding his childhood, but you don't ask nor need to know the specifics. They failed him. It does make your heart ache though, wondering what Gojo went through, what he lost. But he can focus on the now, with you and your boys. It's in the way his eyes shine so brightly, like how the ocean glimmers in the sunlight, when he is with you and his sons that you know Gojo is happy.

You don't engage with the elders and you like to keep it that way. You're thankful for Gojo for keeping them away from you and the boys. They are like roaches. Annoying, disgusting, and have no business in being in your home. The rare times you've observed Gojo interacting with the elders, you understand why Gojo acts the way he does with them. Frankly speaking, your husband is flippant and makes a mockery of them. Not a drop of respect, just the way they deserve.

But the way the elders behave towards you is something you do not deserve at all. Disgusted looks targeted at you, their noses pointed up to signal how they deem you as inferior, worthless. When they smile to keep appearances, all yellow and crooked teeth, it's anything but sincere. They whisper among themselves when you're near, comments about how you have nothing to offer the clan, that you do not belong. Their words usually roll off your skin like water. No use worrying about how you're perceived by them because even if you try to change yourselves for them (which you never would but hypothetically speaking), they would never be satisfied with you. But sometimes their words seep in through the cracks and linger, festering. That's when Gojo is there to hold you close and murmur sweet things into your ear, allowing for warmth to bloom in your chest and chase away elders' words.

You think about how you want to get back at them in some way. And well, if Gojo can be a pain their ass, so can you.

When the door opens, the elders look towards the doorway, expecting the white haired sorcerer to enter only to be surprised when you walk in. The surprise quickly turns to displeasure. All eyes target you, as if you're being scrutinized under a microscope. Their eyes sweep over your stoic expression and how you were dressed, no doubt picking out every little detail they were displeased with. They exchange glances and murmur among themselves until the one in the center clears their throat, addressing you.

"This is a meeting for the Gojo clan."

"I am a Gojo," you deadpan.

"Is your memory failing you already?" From behind, Gojo tilts his head, smiling. "With all of you so old, I'd figure you all would start looking into retirement already."

Such a cheery tone, but stinging words. The elder shows a tight lipped smile, their hands curled into fists on top of their knees. It's easy for Gojo to get under their skin, just like it was easy for the elders to refuse to acknowledge that you were a Gojo. It's not as if they forgot, they just don't consider you as one. They want you gone, but you're not about to leave. Striding towards the couch that is on the opposite side of where the elders are sitting, you wait for Gojo to take a seat first. In typical Gojo fashion, he leans back and spreads his legs far apart, his arms resting behind the couch. Then, you sit his lap sideways, one arm curling behind his neck. Gojo places a hand on your legs and wraps an arm around your waist to keep you secure against him. The cherry on top of was Gojo leaning his head down so he could nuzzle your neck, resting his chin on top of your collarbones.

You feel powerful. Sitting on Gojo's lap as if he is your throne, where you belong, your gaze unwavering as you stare at the elders. Their eyes are wide and they gasp out loud, flabbergasted with your boldness. To them this was scandalous. You, sitting on the strongest sorcerer so casually. It's not a stretch to say that you feel like a queen because Gojo certainty treats you like one. Gojo's lips move across your skin, not caring about the fact that there was an audience. He never does care if there were onlookers, only focused on you and only you. Seeing the elders squirm uncomfortably and avoid your eyes makes your lips twitch.

"So, are we going to start the meeting? You ask nonchalantly. "It's impolite to keep Satoru and I waiting."

"My wifey is always right," Gojo hums. "We're busy people you know."

There's a faint outline of a vein on the elder's neck, his jaw clenched tightly. Then he takes a deep breath, relaxing his shoulders. It's obvious he has a lot to say to you, bubbling inside him, just ready to explode, but he keeps himself calm. For now.

"It'll be a boring meeting, I'm sure you wouldn't want to be-"

"I'm staying," you interject.

"But we'll be talking about curses-"

"Which I already know about. What, you thought I came to this meeting to discuss lunch?" A scoff leaves your lips as you shake your head. "Stop with your pathetic excuses, it's embarrassing. I am fully aware of matters relating to curses and cursed techniques and everything in between. Underestimating me only makes you the biggest fools in this room."

"Good one pumpkin!" Gojo cheers, kissing your cheek.

They bare their stained yellow teeth after their status has been threatened. Fury colors their expression and they glare daggers at you. You're hardly fazed. Your fingers brush over the hairs at the back of your husband's head and he sighs happily, snuggling into you even more.

"How dare you speak to us that way!" The leader erupts, spewing hot lava. "What grounds do you have to slander us!? You are nothing-"

"Now now," Gojo interrupts, his tone light but there's an edge to it. "Careful about what you say to my wife."

The elder pauses, pursuing his lips. He takes a moment to choose his words. "Do you think you can treat us like this?"

You shrug. "I'm just returning the favor."

"Satoru, you're allowing this?" he turns to the sorcerer, as if Gojo would take his side, Gojo of all people.

"Why would my wifey need my permission for anything?" Gojo says, stroking your legs gently. "As a good husband, I fully support her in whatever she wants to do."

Just for a moment, you soften you eyes at your husband's remark. The back of your knuckles graze his cheek in a soft caress and he smiles. Off to the side the leader groans, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Unbelievable."

What was more unbelievable were the two children that suddenly appeared in the room, looking around in confusion before their shining blue eyes land on you. "We did it!" Saichi exclaims, raising his arms up.

Your eyes widen, mouth hanging open. "Saichi, Taichi?" you say their names in disbelief, getting off your husband's lap and kneeling in front of your boys. "What are you doing here? Wait, how did you even get here?"

"We teleported!" Saichi grins, proud. "We went allll over the place and now we're here!"

"Wanted to see mama and papa," Taichi adds, moving closer to you and grabbing your hand.

Your eyebrows furrow together. "What about Yuji?" The pink haired boy was babysitting your boys, or supposed to anyways. With the twins here, you can't imagine the panic Yuji must be feeling when he realizes the boys were just gone. You know the feeling. When the twins are out of your sight, your heart skyrockets out of your chest and you search every nook and cranny until you find them.

"Umm...," the louder of the two trails off, glancing over at his brother.

"We didn't tell him anything...," Taichi finally admits. He looks at you with his round, innocent eyes that makes your heart melt. "We really wanted to see you mama."

You don't have the heart to admonish them. With those eyes of theirs, they can get away with anything. It's always so hard to put your foot down and act a little firm with them. Of course you want them to have fun and live their childhood, you would never do anything to take that away from them. But when it comes to wanting to eat cheesecake in the middle of the night and they look at you like that (and Gojo is right there too, giving you the exact same look), your resolve crumbles just a bit. Gojo won't say anything, he's the one who spoils them. Hell, he's the one who joins the boys on their sneaky little dessert adventures, among other things. You just sigh, ruffling their hair. On the other hand, Gojo lets out a hearty laugh, scooping his sons up in his arms.

"My little mochis teleported! I'm so proud of you," he coos over them, kissing their chubby cheeks. "Let's bake a cake to celebrate, yeah?"

"Yeah!!"

"Now Satoru-"

"Cupcake, you know your cakes are the best."

"Yeah mama, your cakes taste sooo good!" Saichi agrees, nodding his head.

"Can we have strawberry shortcake?" Taichi shyly asks.

Truly, you are no match for husband and boys when they team up like this. It's unfair really, how they're able to sway you so easily, but they're precious to you and if they want strawberry shortcake, then you're going to make the cake. So you smile at them, rising to your feet. "Strawberry shortcake it is."

Their happy cheers were cut short when a loud slam echoes in the air. All heads turn to see Yuji at the doorway, panting heavily. When he sees the boys he shouts,"There you guys are! I've been looking everywhere!" You shouldn't be so shocked that Yuji was searching for them because that's just how Yuji was, a kindhearted, sweet boy who is always willing to go the extra mile. But seeing him so out of breath really solidifies the fact that he was running all over the place to find your boys.

Though, your attention is more focused on the door that lays on the ground, ripped off its hinges. Sometimes, you forget the absurd amount of strength the teenager possess. It takes a moment for Yuji to process exactly what he has done, his eyes following where everyone was staring at. A nervous sort of laugh escapes him, the kind that one makes when they aren't sure what to do in the situation. "Uh, sorry about that...didn't realize I opened the door so hard...," he sheepishly says, rubbing the back of his neck. Then he turns to you, bowing at a ninety degree angle. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to lose them!"

You wave your hand in the air in dismissal. "No need to apologize Yuji. Anyways, would you like to bake a cake with us?" you offer. You love having him around whenever he has the time and you know your twins adore Yuji, always play wrestling with him. Always so courteous and sweet, cooking with you or cleaning the dishes. Yuji gets to have fun, be away from the painful and dangerous life of being a sorcerer.

"Really?" He perks up, eyes sparkling. "I would love to!"

"That settles it! To the Gojo household!" Gojo announces.

Wiggling in his arms, Gojo lets the boys down so they could run over to Yuji, but not before Saichi stopping to stick his tongue out at the elders and yelling out "Meanies!" Your husband guides you out the room with a hand on your back, leaving behind dumbfounded elders, the meeting was long forgotten. Yuji and the boys were up ahead, talking animatedly about something. Perhaps about a movie, Yuji enjoys watching movies with the boys. There were times he slept over and made a pillow fort in the living room so he and the twins could watch movies all warm and cozy.

"Did you have fun?" Gojo questions you.

"It was fun seeing their faces, but it was also tiring," you confess. As much as you would like to ruin the elders' day again some other time, you feel drained. They are leeches, sucking your energy dry.

All of a sudden, you're swept off your feet and carried bridal style by Gojo. Face to face with his smile, he leans forward to press his lips against your cheek, mumbling into your skin. "My wifey, you did so good. Now don't you worry about a thing, your loving husband will carry you."

Chuckling, you lay your head on his shoulder. "Thank you," you whisper, closing your eyes.
