“Primus, I’ve been waiting forever to get out of there,” Skywarp groaned, haphazardly taking a seat next to you.
“Bickering again?” you asked, turning to give her a sympathetic smile.
“That’s an understatement,” she scoffed. “I just don’t understand why I have to be there for it.”
“I might be overstepping here,” you tilted your helm, “but I think it might be because you want to stay for Thundercracker.”
She looked at you, frowning. Skywarp gazed down at the ground and sighed, making you worry that you’d upset her.
“Yeah, maybe… He can be so clueless sometimes, and of course that’s a sign of weakness, so Starscream and the other seekers turn on him. Then he turns around and is just- just such a jerk!” she held out her servos, shaking them in anger. “Like, I want to defend him when they gang up on him, but it’s just… Is it worth it when he bites back at me?”
She turned to you, brows furrowed, optics pained. You hated seeing her so tense and frustrated. It was standard for her, and it made your spark ache, especially after learning how alone she often felt. You wished you could fix it, but you knew that wasn’t in your power. To your surprise, your train of thought was interrupted when she leaned to rest her helm on your shoulder.
“I don’t know, Skywarp,” you pressed your helm against hers, “but I’m here for you, whenever you get these moments to sneak off for a while. You know that right?”
“Ew,” she scrunched her face in mock disgust, bringing her helm back up to look at you, “don’t go all soft on me now,” she said, playfully shoving your shoulder.
You grinned and she tried to hide her own smile. Then you noticed her glance down at your lips and your spark warmed. There was a moment of awkward silence where you both knew what the other was thinking, but were both too nervous to do anything. When she suddenly turned to look away from you, you nearly panicked and decided you couldn’t let the moment pass.
Slowly, you brought a servo up to her cheek and guided her to face you once again. You paused, giving her the chance to protest, but she simply gazed at you with scared, but hopeful optics as you leaned in and finally kissed her. Skywarp’s shoulders raised as she tensed, but you soon felt her relax, moving to rest her own servo on your cheek as you shared a sweet kiss.
When you broke apart she glanced away and smiled, suddenly shy and feeling embarrassed. She nervously turned back towards you but avoided eye contact.
“T-thanks?” she said, unsure.
“That’s an interesting response,” you chuckled.
“Well, I don’t know what you’re supposed to say! I haven’t done that before, so you can’t expect me to-”
You silenced her with another quick kiss, pressing your forehelms together as you spoke.
“Sometimes you don’t need to say anything.”
“Then maybe I won’t,” she smiled softly before moving to lean back into your shoulder again.
The two of you spent the rest of the evening sitting in silence, simply enjoying each other's presence, and you hoped there would be many nights like this in the future filled with peace.
