New romantics

Summary:

Lyney put his arm on Lumine's waist, their other hands were together, their fingers intertwined, and so they started to sway as the music played, twirled every now and then.

The autumn breeze would lay soft and cold kisses over the two, some bright orange leaves would fall every few moments, it getting noticingly colder.

Work Text:

It hasn't been a long time since Lumine has stepped foot in Fontaine, the region of justice. This land was endlessy glamorous and heavenly, swans would shuffle on the water elegantly, the birds would sign the most divine songs, oh and the outfits that Fontaine citizens wore! All were exquisite and elegant, alluring and appealing. What a land, full of wonders!

Lumine went in blindy we'd call it, together with Paimon. It was just the two of them, until they've met Lynette, the sister of none other than the known magician, Lyney! The traveler and her companion, didn't know too much about them, and so they have chit-chatted for a few minutes, right at Fontaine's entrance.

--------------
On one evening, the traveler and Paimon were hanging out with Lyney and Lynette, walking around Fontaine, while showing the place to the two new 'guests'.

They have stopped somewhere with a very pretty view, the sky was painted with red, orange, pink and purple, the stars starting to shine slowly but surely, and everything would reflect in Fontaine's big and glamorous sea.

Lyney has put an eye on Lumine, in a nice and sincere way. He was going to try to take out Lumine on a date, but first, he'd like to talk with her a little more. And so, he thought of a trick.

Lumine agreed to the trick that Lyney wanted to do, so he made her hold his dark red hat, and spin it three times. Lumine did what she was asked and then Lyney turned it upside down, and pulled out an extremly big and stunning Rainbow Rose, which was now tucked in Lumine's hair, under her hair, making her even cuter than before. Her face was now a little pink tinted, and so were her ears. Ooh but what a mind Lyney had for this trick!

---------------
(Timeskip after court and all that)

A very shocking thing has been discovered.

Lyney and Lynette belong to the House of the Heart, therefore, they are Fatui Harbingers.

Lumine and Paimon were speechless, they did not know what to do anymore.. the traveler really believed that Lyney wouldn't lie to her, and that all the sweet things he's done were true and genuine. But the fact that Lyney was one of the Fatui,.. his heart still yearned for Lumine's.

The siblings have apologised to the traveler and her companion, but the two didn't really look back at the magicians, their hopes and hearts were teared apart. Such a big lie! And a twist! Lumine would've never imagined nor thought..

Lyney indeed was feeling bad for lying to these two, but he thought it was for their best not to know.. he messed up.

---------------

The siblings kept trying to have the traveler and Paimon understand what they did, they thought it was best! But they failed. Lynette has given up, oh but what love does to a man, Lyney..

(Days later)

Lyney has packed some courage, wanting to make it up for Lumine and Paimon. He invited her out on a date.

Lumine was hesitant at first, she didn't want to pay attention to any of these but.. the day Lyney gave her a big Rainbow Rose... the way he would look at her.. the way he offered her a glamorous flower and tucked it behind her ear..

She has accepted the date.

Paimon was a little scared, and didn't know why Lumine has accepted the invitaion but she was going to follow them as subtly as she could!

-------------

Lumine didn't bother too much on her look, she was already a very pretty girl and wasn't too excited to meet the man, so she went directly the location of their date.

As she arrived, Lyney was already there. He looked as fine as ever,..she thought. Each time after the court incident when she would think of him, she'd feel little anger and more sadness. But when she saw him in person, again..

"Ohh, bonjour mademoiselle (lady)! How are you, on this magnificent evening?" Said Lyney full of enthusiasm, not being able to take this eyes away from Lumine.

"Hello. I'm fine, and you?" She tried to show little to no interest but she had butterflies spinning in her stomach.

"Ah, now that you've arived, I can say I'm feeling ever better!" What sweet words he had in him. And they always worked.

Lumine couldn't help but smile a bit, and moved a little closer to Lyney on the bench that they were sitting on.

The place in where they have decided to meet was a very calm and soothing one, a lot of flowers in pots, big and small, and all glamorously abloom, shining as the sun was making it's slow way down, to nightfall. It was a small caffee just behind the two of them, and their orchestra was playing an exquisite song, just perfect to dance.

Lyney stood up from the bench, twirled in front of his date as he got up, offered hid hand and asked,

"May I have this dance, mon chèrri?" A small smile on his lips.

"Yes." It was a short response, but a very pleasing one.

They have finished their dance, but not their date. Lyney had one more place on which he wished to take Lumine to, so he was hoping everything would go accordingly to his plan.

"That was a perfect dance," he took one of her hands in his, he leant down a little bit, and kissed the back of her palm, "might I take you to one more place, before we end the day, mon amour?" He was a little frightened.

"Hmmm..." she was surely going to accept it, she just wanted to mess with the blond boy in front of her. "Sure I'll go to one more place with you.''

They have arrived to their last spot, somewhere high above the water. The sky was painted in beautiful bright pinks, oranges and reds, and the sky was clear, all of this was reflecting into the big waters of Fontaine. Mesmerising.

The both of them sat down on the ground and admired the gorgeuros view, while Lyney took his coat off, and put it over Lumine's shoulders, making sure she doesn't get cold.

"I oh, thank you, there's no need.." her cheeks and the tip of her ears were slightly tinted pink, but enough for Lyney to notice.

"Shhh, of course, of course." Oh his teasing voice.

"Would you like to lay down?" He offered, and she slowly and unsurely put her head on his chest, and continuied to look at the beautiful swans that were dancing gracefully on the water, how the birds would fly back to their homes, how smaller creatures were spending time together.

They sat there for about half an hour, and decided to go home, as long as it was still light outside, even tiniest bit.

Lyney dropped Lumine at her place.

"It was a pleasure, my dear. I hope we can hang out like this, again. Good night."

"It was, good night." She never let her guard down, yet her tone sounded happy and was accompanied by a bright smile on her pretty face.
