night terrors - one shot

Summary:

quiet comfort after a night-terror

Notes:

once again another soft one shot with character kasi and crosshair

Work Text:

Ah kriff.

Crosshair knew he had always struggled with insomnia but he felt like it was at it's worst currently. Currently, he was lying in his bed staring at the ceiling trying to Will himself to sleep with little success. His insomnia felt like it had been at it's worst lately, he had been very stressed out due to lots of factors. Firstly, just how much of a mess life is for him right now, and secondly fatherhood.

Crosshair never expected to become a father but one day he met Kasi. Kasi was a refuge after his village had been destroyed by the Separatists and the Batch had offered to shuttle the survivors to Republic relief camps but then Kasi was sent to them. The only survivor. Kasi had latched onto him rather quickly, Crosshair hadn't expected it at all, he was emotionally closed off and distant, but for some reason, this kid followed him like a shadow. Suddenly he's drawn out of his thoughts by soft muffled sounds.

Sitting up, Crosshair quietly walks out of his room and follows the soft sounds of crying and hiccuping, he stops in front of the small room that Kasi had been given. Gently knocking on the door, Crosshair walks in and frowns as he sees Kasi curled up in bed sobbing into his pillow. Walking over, he sits on the edge of the small bed next to him gently touching the young boy's arm. "Hey, kid, everything okay," he asked softly his voice filled with worry as he looked at him. Suddenly Kasi latches onto him sobbing into his shoulder, after a moment of surprise Crosshair wrapped his arms with the boy to comfort him. Then Kasi speaks.

"I had a night terror…"

"About what..?"

"That I'm going to lose you like I've lost everyone else buir.."

"Kid, it'll take an entire army to take me away from you.."

Kasi tightens his hold on Crosshair, sniffling softly he presses as close to Crosshair as possible not wanting to be let go. Crosshair didn't intend on letting him go either, it's obvious that his boy needs his comfort and he is not about to deprive him of that. "Get some rest kid," he whispers softly as he kisses the top of his head and he holds him close.
