Caspian awoke, keeping his eyes closed trying to hear where he was. He knew it wasn't his home, felt colder than the Overworld. He heard someone walk in and talk though he couldn't tell what. Then the voice came closer and closer till it was in front of him.
"So this is one of the new Prisioners, Perix?" The voice asked. The voice was the Prince of the End's.
Then the memory came back to him he was walking with his one boyfriend, Aax, to see the Queen because Caspian's friend that recently died. That's not the only reason they knew someone from the End kingdom that was Aax and Caspian's other bf. 'Where is Aax? Did they get caught trespassing? They went to see him did they get locked up too' Caspian thought. Though he came back to reality when the prince spoke again.
"He's awake, He is just pretending to be asleep, I'll take him with me," The Prince spoke as Caspain opened his eyes glaring at the prince.
"Of course, Prince Raemond," The guard now known as Perix spoke. The prince grabbed Caspian's binds and pulls him when they got to the door they paused pushing it open.
"And it's Rae not Raemond, Perix!" The prince now known as Rae said. He then continued to walk pulling Caspian behind him. Caspian took a glance back when Rae paused to see a floofy white and magenta-haired person still passed out in a cell.
Soon Rae opened the door to another room and threw Caspian on the bed. Rae walked over to a desk and put his crown on the desk.
"Caspian, you need to be careful, What if it was Enderian and not me!" Rae turned to Caspian. Caspian was confused, not recognizing Rae.
"I'm sorry, do I know you personally? Also, can you untie me?" Caspain asked.
"Of course, sorry about that," Rae said, starting to untie the binds. "My name is Prince Raemond"
Rae said his "Formal name" quietly, almost as if he disliked it. Not that he did it's just weird for people to call him that outside of formal events such as Royal Balls or his coronation of which was coming up in a few months
"but no need with the formalities, please call me Rae. I'm one of Queen Enderian and Queen Orchid's sons" Rae said as he took off the rope around Caspian's hands. "Jeez Perix why did you restrain him-" He said that last line softly under his breath.
"Starlight is gonna be so mad, if he finds out that we got caught," Caspian whispered to himself. Rae gave Caspian a confused look.
"How do you know that name?" Rae asked, Starlight was a name Ghosty (Sunflower) and Aax (Blossom) gave him. It was for safety. If they ever got in trouble or got lost they could use that name. Like with the resets, Those names had been used to help them get their memories back.
"It's the only name I remember from the resets other than my boyfriend's and his code name, I wish I knew the person's real name," Caspian answered.
"Ah, I see. Sorry for overreacting a little- It was a name my two partners Sunflower and Blossom gave me a few resets ago" Rae said, being an idiot not realizing that the guy in front of him WAS ONE OF HIS BOYFRIENDS-
Caspian stared down at the floor, that name Sunflower, sounded so familiar even in that voice, almost like a faded memory. "Blossom... was Aax's," Caspian whispered mostly to himself.
"Yeah, That was their code name. I haven't seen them this reset though.. And it's been a few weeks. Typically we come together after a week of the new reset begining.. " Rae said, looking down at the ground.
There was a knock on the door, then a voice, "Prince Raemond you're supposed to go see the other prisoner now, Queen Enderian and Queen Orchid told me to tell you."
"I'll be back" Rae told Caspian, going over to the door "I've told you a million times, you don't need to use formalities Perix. Please, just call me Rae." Rae told the guard. "Anyway, lead the way." He said, going to follow her.
"Of course Rae," Perix said walking to where the prisoner was being held, "Here they are, their name is Aax, we could not find a last name though." Perix motioned to the olm hybrid.
"Thank you Perix" Rae said, walking into the other cell, bowing in front of the olm. "Hello Aax, I'm Prince Rae"
"Hello! You remind me of someone? But I don't know who, I feel like we met in a past reset," Aax said.
"What do you mean?" Rae asked, Confusion apparent on his face.
"You seem like someone who I should know, someone important like how Caspian is to me," Aax answered trying to remember why they felt this way. Then it clicked in his mind, "Starlight?" Aax looked Rae in the eyes.
Rae seemed taken aback for a moment before realizing. Gosh he was such an idiot. THESE WERE HIS BOYFRIENDS. Rae mentally slapped himself for not realizing sooner. But he was gonna check just to be sure, "Blossom?"
"Starlight!" Aax practically tackled Rae into a hug, "Were you blind when you saw Caspian because Caspian probably was?"
"I didn't realize it was him.." Rae said while hugging back, he was so glad that he got reunited with his partners.
"You and Caspian are both so blind!" Aax said, hugging Rae a smile on planted their face.
Rae playfully smacked Aax "Oh hush"
Aax giggled, "But it's true! You and Caspian both forget stuff and are blind!" They let go of Rae.
Rae let go of Aax "It's not my fault that the resets create memory blocks"
"I'm not talking about that! forgetful stuff, I'm talking about the other reset when you forget I could hear!" Aax said while standing up.
"Oh- Woops- Yeah I guess we are kind of forgetful" Rae said, standing up as well. "Let's go meet up with Caspian, he's in my room"
"Okay!" Aax said following Rae as he walked to meet up with Caspian. The two walked when they passed the prince of the Overworld kingdom, Prince Sherbert, with their guards, who looked to be heading to the throne room. Sherbert seemed mad. Sherbert then spotted them and held a bow aimed at Rae.
Rae pulled out his bow in return "We meet again, Prince Sherbert. What place do thou have here?"
"Well you seem to have Overworlders held as prisoners and Fable couldn't find time to come to the End kingdom, so I came on his behalf," Sherbert kept their bow aimed at Rae, "So return the prisoners, I might not remember much of the past but I do remembered one thing killing someone with a bow and I'll do it again if you don't give the prisoners back."
"They are not being kept as prisoners, It is a simple single day at most in a cell from trespassing, Other crimes have their own punishments." Rae responded to being wrongly accused.
"That's not the information I was told, also you know how much I trust Perix! With the info, I heard about Perix and what she does to prisoners!" Sherbert said putting their bow down.
"Perix is a lying and cheating little b[Athena holds up his hands]. You know she should not be trusted. I don't get how Enderian still has her as the guard and warden." Rae also put his bow down, but was still at alert.
"Like I said before I am here for the prisoners, you know that Enderian would make them stay a month just for trespassing!" Sherbert said anger leaving their voice, "but I see it's you so Im leaving though Im gonna make it seem like I actually talked to Enderian by going to my 'friend's' house."
"I see, But no, Enderian does not run the prisons. She is just the ruler on the kingdom. Perix and I run the prisons." Rae responded calmly. Making his point to tell Fable about this.
"Don't tell Fable that I'm going to my 'friends' he would yell at me," Sherbert said turning around to leave
"I won't snitch on you my dear brother" Rae said as he walked back to the room Caspian was in.
Aax followed Rae to the room Caspian was in.
"Caspian~ Look who I found!" Rae said with some excitement in his voice as he walked in.
"Hmm?" Caspian looked over to Rae while Aax walked in behind Rae. Aax hide behind Rae so Caspian had to guess.
"You gotta guess love" Rae said in a slight joking tone.
Caspian scrunched his eyebrows, why did this person call him 'love' they only just met? He then saw the tail of the person he was traveling with behind Rae, "Aax?"
Rae stepped out from in front of Aax "It's blossom" He said with a smile on his face.
"He doesn't remember Rae, I was lucky I got him to remember me but I even used the nickname on him," Aax whispered to Rae. Caspian when he first spawned in only remembered the Lady of the world, then he found Aax and his memory of him came back but nothing else.
Rae turned to Aax, a little sad now "Oh.."
"Didn't in a different reset call him something else for him to remember?" Aax asked Rae. Caspian wondered what they were talking about.
"Uhm.. I told him that he was important.." Rae whispered to Aax.
Caspian froze at the sentence. It felt oddly familiar to the traveler.
Rae walked over to him, kneeling infront of the other. Aax followed behind, sitting next to the brunette.
"I-I," Caspian stuttered his voice just a whisper.
"it's okay.. We've got you" Rae said, gushing Caspian gently
Caspian barely heard Rae or Aax. He wished the memories would stop coming back, but they didn't stop.
Rae just hugged tighter, providing a comforting pressure.
"I-I'm sorry" Caspian choked out.
"Don't be love, it wasn't your fault. It's Soraza's.. They keep blocking our memories when the resets happen.." Rae informed.
There was so much information he found out since he took heir for The End throne. His books have become atleast twice as long in the past few weeks with knowledge he has been deemed "worthy enough of knowing."
He couldn't wait for things to die down so that he and his partners could just sit in the study and for Rae to be able actually have a stress-free time and be able to do something he loves.
That of which, is just sitting with someone he cares about, talking to them about anything but more specifically his research.
He really likes talking about it with Caspian and Aax though as they tend to ask many questions, some of which spark more interest in to Rae.
The scientist used to do that with his brother when they were younger but now they aren't kids anymore.
Sherbert has moved on and is running their own kingdom. They don't have time to do that anymore.
Caspian leaned into Rae, happy to be back with both of his partners. Before he had his memories he felt like part of him was missing, now he felt whole again.
Rae zoned out at the wall for a moment, feelings overcoming him, he looked as if he wanted to cry for a moment but was snapped out of it when Caspian leaned in to him, He smiled down at his partner with a soft smile on his face.
"I've missed you so much. I'm happy we're back together again my starlight" Caspian whispered softly.
