Work Text:
It had been a week since Fumiya had sent the invitations out for her tea party, and she had to make sure that everything was just right! She had seen everything she needed to know about tea parties on the TV, she read the books, and she's hosted a few mock tea parties of her own with her Papa and her stuffies. She had settled on a theme color palette (lots of pink and purple with some different shades of red to accentuate the main colors), and she had her selection of teas and cookies for everyone to dine on. Fumiya also had to have some actual sandwiches, because her Papa had said that she was still growing, and all those sweets would keep her short. She had called bullshit on that, and her Papa scolded her on her language, but then she said that Papa swears "all the fucking time", and…
Nonetheless, she had to have sandwiches at her tea party. Which was fine, because from what she's seen, all the tea parties had some kind of small sandwiches to go with the cookies and tea. But, she didn't really like cucumbers, so she decided on mini tonkatsu pork sandwiches and peanut butter and jelly (her favorite!), and she had her Papa cut the crusts off. "It's how the fancy people do it, Papa!" she had explained. For the teas, she had picked out green tea, black tea, and a blended tea that had some strawberries in it. The table was set, a nice flower arrangement on top that Fumiya picked out all by herself; she had picked out white lilies, blue violets, and sweet peas for the bouquet (she's pretty sure that Auntie Kouyou would be proud of her), and she even placed them in the vase! Her Papa had to carry it to the table, but that's okay, she'll be able to do it herself when she gets bigger.
The doorbell rang. Her first guest!
"Ready, sweetheart?" her Papa said, standing in her doorway. He was wearing his normal outfit, including the hat that he always wore, but Fumiya had added a big feather to it to make it at least a little silly. Papa made some grumbling noises when she did, but he still kept it in, so she knows that he likes it, he's just being stubborn. She had decided to wear her favorite princess dress, pink with white flowers stitched on it, along with her black jacket that her Papa bought her to match his own jacket. She also wore her fairy wings and mini black boots that reached her ankles, and were a bit heavy, but she still manages to walk in them just fine. As for her hat, she decided to wear her princess tiara, and she decided to let her sky blue hair out, so it reached just to the end of her neck.
Her gold colored eyes widened in excitement and she nodded firmly. "Hell yeah, I'm ready!" she grinned.
"Attagirl," her Papa grinned back. "You look amazing."
She gave a twirl as she walked to the front door and smiled at her Papa. "Thank you Papa!"
When Chuuya opened the door, neither of them were surprised to see Kouyou and Kyoka were the first to arrive. "Hello lad, Fumiya-chan," Kouyou said, "thank you for inviting us to your tea party."
"Hi, Auntie Kouyou! Hi Kyoka-nee!" Fumiya said, giving a hug to both ladies. "Come on, I want to show you the table!" She grabbed Kyoka's hand and eagerly led her to the decorated table, leaving Kouyou and Chuuya chuckling by the doorway.
"Thanks for doing this, Ane-san. She's really been looking forward to this."
Kouyou waved her hand with a smile. "It's nothing, lad, she's my niece; plus, Kyoka was also looking forward to this, as well as myself. It'll be nice to have everyone here and have a little fun for once."
"Yeah, I guess. so long as no one breaks anything, I think we'll all be fine," Chuuya said with a shrug.
"Auntie Kouyou, come look at the flowers I got!" Fumiya called from the other room.
"Best not to leave the host waiting," Kouyou said, walking to the living room, with a smirking Chuuya following behind her. When they reached the table, Funiya and Kyoka each stood to the opposite side and presented the bouquet of flowers. Kouyou's eyes widened a bit and she said nothing for a moment. When Fumiya opened her mouth, likely to ask what she was thinking, Kouyou managed to get out a "It's absolutely stunning, Fumiya", making the girl beam with pride.
Soon, the doorbell rang again. "Papa, you can show where Auntie and Kyoka can sit!" she said, and she darted to the door before Chuuya could say anything. "Who is it?" she called out.
"It's Akutagawa."
Fumiya squealed and opened the door, Akutagawa and Gin standing on the other side of it. The older Akutagawa blessedly wore a formal white shirt and a silly hat- a floppy black one that covers his eyes- but he still showed up with his ratty jacket. Gin, on the other hand, wore a light blue sweater and a knee length skirt, along with flat shoes. She had forgone her usual mask, and her hair was cascading down her back, and she had on a tiny fedora on the side of her head, that was attached by a strap that went under her chin. "Gin-lun, Ryuu-nii! Thank you for coming!"
"Thanks for having us, Fumiya-chan," Gin murmured with a bow of her head.
"I still do not see the purpose of wearing this ridiculous hat," Akutagawa mumbled, but received a swat on his shoulder from Gin.
"Ryuu-nii, it's a tea party; it's supposed to be silly," Fumiya deadpanned.
"Still, many people had seen me wearing this while we were-"
"If you're that upset, I have green tea and fig cookies to make up for it."
And based on how Akutagawa's eyes widened at the mention of those treats, Fumiya knew that she was forgiven (After all, it was the only way that she could allow him to come to her tea party at all).
"I… suppose that would be a start."
Hook, line, and sinker.
Soon, the rest of the mafia showed up, each of them wearing a silly hat for the occasion: Tachihara had wore a beanie with lots of pins and buttons on it, which Fumiya thought was pretty cool (much to the chagrin of Akutagawa; Tachihara surprisingly still had his tongue in his mouth when he stuck it out in retaliation), Elise showed up wearing a flower crown which Fumiya thought was so cool, and Elise promised her that she would show the girl how to make one the next time they hang out (Mori had shown up in his own flower crown that Elise had made for him, and he spent the next 5 minutes talking about how talented and amazing his "precious Elise-chan" was). Thankfully, they were all saved by Hirotsu' and Yumeno's arrival- the former wearing a bowler hat, which just made him look even more dignified when paired with his monocle, and the latter wearing a big feather in their small hat, just like her Papa. With everyone seated, and Chuuya and Kouyou bringing the tea and food to the table, Fumiya cleared her throat, gathering the attention of everyone in the room.
"Hi everyone! I just wanted to thank you all for coming to my tea party. I hope you enjoy the decorations, the food, and the tea; Papa and I worked really hard on them. And Ryuu-nii, you have to share the fig cookies and not eat them all by yourself." Everyone chuckled at the indignant look Akutagawa gave Fumiya, who just raised her eyebrow, unperturbed. "Also, there shall be no talks of killing or torturing people, or I'll have Papa throw you out the window." Everyone quickly sobered up at that, exchanging glances between each other, a serious looking Fumiya, and a smirking Chuuya. "Okay, I'm done!"
And with that, the tea party began in earnest.
