Several weeks had passed since Ryuunosuke confessed his feelings to Mako. They found themselves in constant debates about the details of their upcoming marriage—whether to have it in a traditional or Western style, how many guests to invite, and when exactly to tie the knot.
Meanwhile, Genta and Kaoru had already settled their wedding plans. They decided to have a traditional ceremony at the Shiba House in just a few weeks. Kaoru, with her characteristic composure, had meticulously organized everything, earning admiration from everyone around her.
Takeru, however, was feeling the weight of the impending marriage. As his mother prepared to marry, he felt a mix of emotions and the pressure to find the perfect gift. Venturing out into the streets with some kurokos by his side, he pondered what to get for Kaoru and Genta. Gift-giving for weddings was new to him, and he was at a loss.
"Tono-sama, what brings you out here?" Kotoha's sudden appearance interrupted his thoughts, catching him off guard.
"The same could be asked of you," he replied, surprised to see one of his teammates.
"Just taking a morning stroll..."
"I'm actually looking for a wedding gift for my 'parents,' but I'm not sure what to get."
"Let me help you. I know a place where you can find the perfect present for Princess Kaoru and Genta."
Kotoha took Takeru's hand eagerly, leading him to a store specializing in wedding gifts. As they wandered through the vast selection, Takeru found a suitable gift for Genta—a beautifully crafted sushi serving set. However, he was still at a loss for what to get Kaoru. Thankfully, Kotoha suggested a simple yet elegant red ribbon, which Takeru gratefully accepted, trusting in her judgment.
With their purchases in hand, Takeru and Kotoha made their way back home. Takeru felt a sense of relief, grateful for Kotoha's assistance in navigating the daunting task of gift shopping.
"Tono-sa… I mean, Takeru," Kotoha said, still adjusting to addressing her lord less formally. "I should probably head home now, but I enjoyed spending time with you."
"I feel the same," he replied, smiling warmly. "You were a tremendous help. I wouldn't have been able to choose a gift without you."
"I don't think I did much… but if you ever need help again, don't hesitate to ask!"
Takeru watched as Kotoha departed, noticing the radiance she exuded. She was always gentle, but in that moment, he saw a brightness in her that he hadn't noticed before.
Returning home, Takeru eagerly awaited the wedding day, eager to present his gifts and see his parents' reactions.
