Chapter Text
Other goddamn argument, just what she needed, Celine watched Mark leave the room, his ego still as big as the manor. Still muttering curses she stood up and walked over to her vanity and looked through the drawers, her heart came to an almost stop seeing something she didn’t want too, not because of hatred but of pain and regretful sorrow…
She had found the last thing her mother gave her, handwritten and all.. she could remember her mother reading it to her before she passed..
Celine felt tears rolling down her cheek as she read it.
“My dearest Celine,
I think you know what’s to happen to me, and rightfully so,
When the inevitable happens.. you take care of Damien for me.. I know you always have, but now.. he’s the only family you’ve got left.
My beautiful grown up girl.. never let anyone tell you your place in this world… it’s yours to discover and I know you’ll do it well.
Always here, in your heart.
Mama “
Celine looked to the now tear stained paper, she put it safe in a drawer beside her and Marks king sized bed. She walked to the mirror and looked at herself, wiping her eyes carefully with an embroidered handkerchief, she looked back to her reflection and took deep breaths.
Several minutes later she heard a short knocking at her door, she knew who this would be so she opened the door
“Mark I know you’re sorry but-..”
She looked up to who she thought was Mark and her eyes widened with happiness
William was back from war.
