I wrote this in a little under 2 hours. Some of the time was used while making the cover(for wattpad) so ideally like an hour and 30 minutes was spent writing this. It is currently 2:16 AM and I am too lazy to proof read this so here. Take it. Enjoy.

Work Text:

Eijirou stared intently at the rain pouring outside as he waited for his boyfriend to get home from work. As much as Eijirou enjoyed listening to the rain, it really soiled his and Katsuki's plans for the day. A couple of days ago Eijirou had complained that the two of them hadn't had much time to spend together and thus he suggested that he and Katsuki both went on a picnic together! It was going to be perfect. Was. . .

As Eijirou listened to the sound of the downpour around their apartment he still couldn't deny how peaceful the sound is, that is. Of Course until his boyfriend arrives home drenched and with a scowl on his face. He'll likely be quite irritable, it's probably a good Idea to fill up the tub with hot water for the angered blonde.

And so off Eijirou went to turn on the tub's faucet. The whooshing sound of the faucet blended in with the sounds of the rain hitting the bathroom window. The peaceful tranquility of the moment abruptly ended when he heard the front door slam shut and squeaky footsteps stomp through their foyer.

"Katsuki!" Eijirou exclaimed as he slipped around the corner to greet his boyfriend.

"Thought you were in the bath, I heard it running." Katsuki said as Eijirou handed him a towel to dab at the water droplets clinging to his Ash Blonde hair.

"Oh, no. I started that for you. I thought you'd might be annoyed after coming home."

"Well, you're damn right about that. I'm fucking pissed."

"Uh, oh. What did Midoriya do this time?"

"Wasn't Deku this time. Fucking Mineta came by to beg to become a sidekick. But then started harassing one of my employees no later than thirty seconds after assuring me he's a changed man."

"Geez, Mina told me he showed at her agency too to ask the same thing. Maybe it'd do him some good to go to therapy?"

"You're too nice babe. Not even therapy can save that moron." Katsuki said as he handed Eijirou his coat as he entered the bathroom. Eijirou quickly hung up the coat and followed Katsuki into the bathroom.

"Maybe. But I'd still like to think there's some hope for him to change. Everyone deserves a chance!"

"Grapes already had tons of chances. He never-" Katsuki froze with his shirt only attached to his body by his arms.

"He never what?"

"Shit. Ei. I'm sorry I forgot about the picnic you asked for." Katsuki said tossing his shirt to the side to free his hands in order to cup Eijirou's cheek.

"It's okay. There will be other sunny days! Should we reschedule?"

"Maybe. . ." Katsuki said as he moved away from Eijirou and toward the bath to turn off the faucet. Eventually sitting on the toilet lid to start removing his socks.

Eijirou closed the gap this time and kissed Katsuki's dampened hair. "It's okay. I know you've been really busy with your hero stuff. Hell, I'm pretty busy with mine too. You're working hard, I'm really proud of you Katsuki." Eijirou said as he grabbed something brightly colored from a bin on their counter and started removing the plastic sealant. "I'll let you get to your bath now." He said as he chucked an orange and red bath bomb into the tub and made his way out the door. Lightly closing it behind him.

When Katsuki was done he told Eijirou that it was his turn to take a bath. Eijirou had tried to protest since he wasn't too affected by the rain but Katsuki insisted that he take one. Eijirou still tried to argue but was met with the bathroom door simply being slammed shut in is face. Trapping Eijirou in the bathroom and leaving him with no other choice than to do what Katsuki wants. He stripped off his clothes and tried to relax in the bath. But soon his thoughts became a little too much for him.

Eijirou was disappointed. He had been looking forward to today for weeks now. While yes, he and Katsuki saw each other practically every day but they hadn't really had much time only for the two of them to intentionally do something fun with each other. If only the rain wasn't standing in their way.

As Eijirou scrubbed at his back with the loofah as he sighed at the idea of waiting another few weeks until they get to have their little picnic date. He should hurry with the bath if he wants to even eat dinner before it goes cold if Katsuki has decided to cook.

Eijirou rushes through the remaining parts of his bathing routine, and reaches for the clothes that Katsuki had left for him since before he was trapped in his own bathroom. He dabbed his damp legs and arms with the towel before grabbing the shirt that was left for him.

Huh?

Why is it a button up?

Eijirou reaches for the pants. Dress pants. Why would Katsuki leave him dress pants instead of the normal sweats or shorts he leaves for him? Eijirou considered that maybe this could just be a mistake, but he doubted that theory. What an odd mistake that would be for someone to make. Let alone Katsuki Bakugou.

Whatever this was, he decided long ago that he trusted Katsuki with everything he had. And whatever this was supposed to be for probably wasn't worth doubting him over.

He slipped on the clothes provided for him but then he noticed his dress shoes were sitting on the floor next to the door. He decides not to question it and just slip those on too. And soon, he was headed out the bathroom door.

He stopped immediately when he noticed red sprinkled throughout their hardwood floors. His eyes followed the red petals and eventually his feet started following them too. It led him to the living room. Their coffee table had been moved. Where the coffee table once was was their picnic blanket, and their picnic basket, and their. Oh. This was a picnic. He was almost jealous he hadn't thought of it first. His eyes still studies the scene until his eyes met Katsuki's and eventually he started looking at Katsuki's clothes. Katsuki was dressed in pretty-close-to-matching attire. Sitting and waiting patiently on their picnic blanket.

"Took you long enough. I was scared you'd get confused and come out in only a towel."

"What is all this?"

"You wanted a picnic didn't you?"

"Well I mean- I just-" Eijirou was at a loss for words. What could he possibly say that could perfectly describe this beautiful scene in front of him? "Thank you."

"You're welcome. Now come eat."

Eijirou settled in the spot next to Katsuki as his boyfriend started pulling food out of their picnic basket. "I didn't get to make much since I was pretty busy with setting all of this up, so you're going to just have to deal with this." Katsuki smirked as he pulled out two plastic baggies with heart shaped sandwiches in them.

"Peanut butter and jelly?"

"Peanut butter and jelly." Katsuki Confirmed.

Eijirou smiled. He didn't think anything could ruin his good mood or possibly make this any better. He pulled out his sandwich and took a big chomp out of it. He sighed contentedly as the rain continued to patter against their windows. Eijirou was so lost in his senses of taste and hearing he didn't notice Katsuki stand up and stretch out his palm for Eijirou to take as he took the last bite of his sandwich and grabbed Katsuki's hand as Katsuki pulled him to join him on their feet.

"Eijirou."

"Yep?" Eijirou stared at Katsuki. But in return Katsuki only started snickering. "What's so funny?" Eijirou demanded.

"That dumb look on your face. Do you seriously not get what's going on here?"

"What do you mean 'what's going on here'?"

"Look, what's that?" Katsuki said as he pointed in the opposite direction. Eijirou turned to look for what Katsuki could have been pointing at.

"I don't see it."

"Maybe it's behind you."

"Behind me?" Eijirou asked as he turned back to face Katsuki, who was now on one knee. Holding a little black box in his hands. Eijirou was only just now starting to piece things together."

"Eijirou, you idiot." Katsuki continued to stare up into Eijirou's eyes. A small smirk starting to form on his face as he said his next words. "You've always been the unwavering wall for me to lean on and catch my breath. You make waking up as the number two hero every day worth it. If I had to choose between working myself to death to surpass deku or you, Eijirou. I'd choose you in a heartbeat. I'm sure you're able to guess what I'm about to say next but I'll save you the brainpower. Kirishima Eijirou, will you marry me?"

"Katsuki. . ."

"A yes would be nice."

"You don't want my heartfelt response to everything you've just said?"

"No, I want you to say yes and be bound to me by the government."

Eijirou let out a hearty laugh. "Yes. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life bound to you by a piece of paper."

"It's settled then. I'll be getting married before Deku does." Eijirou pouted in response. "I'm kidding. We all know it's going to take him well over a decade to pop the question to anyone."

"Right. . Are you going to eat your sandwich by the way?"

"No. But you should save some room for dessert."

"Dessert?"

"Yeah. I grabbed some strawberry lactose intolerant ice cream on my way home. Thought you might like to celebrate."

"I love you."

"Yeah, you too."

Eijirou was more than happy to be settled by his boyfriend- fiance's side. Eating strawberry ice cream. And eventually spending the rest of his life with him. Okay. Now nothing could possibly make this any better. Except maybe a kiss.
