Work Text:
Tommy was thrown onto a very soft bed that was overflowing with pillows, blankets, and anything soft that his captor had really. He didn't bother with sitting upright, instead opting to bury his head in said soft bed, so he didn't have to face his brother whom he knew was pissed.
“Tommy.”
Yep, he was pissed. But so was Tommy.
“Tech-NO-blade.” His voice was muffled by the pillow under him, that's why his anger sounded a little like fear, that's it, he was NOT scared of his brother. Not in a million years.
“You ran.” Tommy rolled his eyes, not that Techno could see.
“Yep”
“Why?”
…
Why? WHY? Was he asking why Tommy ran when he didn't want to be here? Sure he had wanted to be here at first, but for like a week, it has been a month. He lifted himself so he was sitting upright, legs dangling from the side of the bed but not touching the ground. He glared at his brother, he had to look up cause the mother fucker was tall, and he was sitting.
“Why?” he asked back.
“Yes, why? You have everything you need here in this house, and you ran,” he growled, taking a step forward. “So why?”
“BULL- FUCKING-SHIT TECHNO” Tommy yelled. (any fear wasn't gone but suppressed.)
“I'm stuck in this house- hell sometimes just this god-damned room, I'm not allowed outside, you took my communicator so I can't even text my friends, the only people I talk to now are you and Phil and I'm pretty sure the only reason I even get to talk to Phil is because he lives next door!” Tommy shouts as he counts each response on his fingers.
“I have no freedom, I don't even choose what I wear anymore.” That was true, Techno gave him an outfit every day, last time he argued about it Techno had kept him in a separate room for three days. The only time he saw anyone it was Phil dropping off food for him cause Techno was mad.
“So you're pissed I'm protecting you? Toms?”
“Protecting me? You're ISOLATING me, that's not protection.”
“It's working, has Dream bothered you at all?”
“I honestly wouldn't be surprised if you killed him.”
Techno started walking towards him. In an attempt to keep space between them, Tommy scooted (read crawled) backward. He almost fell off the bed before techno grabbed his forearm pulling him closer.
“Would that be a problem?”
Tommy froze.
“Is that why you took my communicator? So I wouldn't see the little “dream was slain by the blood god” or something?”
Techno was silent for a bit.
“No, I took the communicator because Tubbo was giving you the wrong ideas.”
“You read my messages-”
“Of course I read your messages, runt.” He glares. “You have betrayed me before if you don't remember.”
“I thought we talked-”
“I don't care.” he steps back letting go of Tommy, who almost falls. Most of his weight was being supported by Techno as they talked.
“So yes, I looked through your messages, and as I thought Tubbo was trying to get you to betray me again.”
“No, he wasn't, he was offering me a room.”
“And that would be you choosing him over me,” he says, turning.
Tommy glares daggers at Techo's hair, long and pink, blocking his view of what the man was doing now that he had turned his back on Tommy. From what it sounded like he was looking through, what Tommy guessed to be, a chest.
“I will admit, I was proud of you when you turned down his little offer to stay in Snow Chester.” he turns around, an awkward potion in hand.
Tommy glares at him.
“Techno that's fucked up.”
“Oh, definitely” Techno agrees. “But I had to be sure.”
“Fucked up reasoning as well” Tommy starts to feel, not unsafe, but definitely like something bad would happen.
Technoblade doesn't respond to Tommy. He walks around the bed. Tommy moves so what was Techno is never behind him, he is always in Tommy's view. He picks up a pillow that Tommy hadn't even noticed had fallen. He (as in Technoblade) looks over the pillow as if it personally insulted him. He takes the pillow and leaves the room. He stops before closing the door.
“So you know, no. Dream is not dead.” Tommy is slowly getting off the bed, still looking at Techno.
“Not yet anyways, if he keeps asking questions he will be though.”
Tommy freezes as his feet sit down on the carpet.
“Questions about what?” he asks.
“He stumbled on something he shouldn't have.” Techno answers. “I'm going down to make brunch, your stunt this morning cost us breakfast. I'm locking the door till I'm done, I'll be back to get you in half an hour.” the door closes before opening again.
“Don't do anything reckless.” Then the door closes, and stays closed, a click showing that Techno indeed locked the door. Still, Tommy walked over and tried to open it.
The door didn't move.
Tommy, being the smart kid he is, decides to look around the room to see if there's anything he could use to get the door open. The room is made for comfort, literally. It's Techno's den, a place Tommy often found himself in. (that doesn't mean it wasn't worth looking through. Between techno interesting he didn't have to leave the bed or ask him to do some kind of task he didn't know what was in the room besides the obvious.) Pillows and blankets are everywhere. Soft clothes sit in their place in drawers. Although there were some awkward positions in the chest that techno was digging in just moments ago. Tommy took one before walking back to the door.
He stared at the lock, he knew that wouldn't budge so he wouldn't try it. He thought about just breaking the door down completely, but ultimately he chose not to. Not because he couldn't, he could, 100% he could. But he couldn't outrun techno, that was proven earlier, so he would have to outsmart him instead. Thinking back about what techno was doing, making brunch, he made a list of things he could get from said brunch, and where he would probably be put after. He might be brought back here or in an entirely new room. It's probably his actual room.
Or maybe not. Tommy bites his nails. He's not getting out of here anytime soon, is he?
