Chapter Text
The convention hall was packed with people and you had somehow gotten separated from your group of friends. Well you say friends but really they were work colleagues and you were sure they had only invited you to make up the numbers for the cheap tickets. You didn't really care, you'd wanted to get to the convention, especially as some of your favourite actors would be there and this seemed like the only way. Figuring they'd ditched you on purpose you decided you'd make the most of the day and just meet them at the bus that evening. That was how you had found yourself wondering the rooms one by one. In a corridor lined with blue carpets and yellow walls you saw a plaque. Starwars merchandise.
Awesome you thought, exactly what you had come here for. Moving closer you wondered why no one else was there but decided it simply put out of place and other people hadn't found it yet. The door handle is hot when you take hold of it.
A rush of wind hits you as you enter the darkened room. This wasn't right. The plaque must have been put there by mistake; there was nothing here. You feel around with your hands when you see a small line of light appear around your feet. Like water rippling away from your steps. Then a voice calls to you, not to you but it's calling out and you recognise it. Maybe it's one of your coworkers, you rush forward searching for anything. The only light was around your feet until you saw it.
Like a screen on a wall you saw you see a flash of a tunic and a blue light spinning. Keeping your breath as quiet as possible you step forward watching as Obi-Wan Kenobi trains Anakin Skywalker. You worry that you've stumbled on a secret screening. Without thinking about what you were doing you reach your hand close to the scene and whisper Anakin's name. Both men turn to you. Their eyes locked on yours.
"What on earth is that?" The older Jedi asks. Your heart starts to race.
"Hello there?" He speaks with a cautious smile.
"Hello." You whisper still not sure if they were speaking to you.
"Perhaps you should come down off the ceiling?" Anakin said, stepping forward and reaching toward you. His master taps his shoulder, keeping him from approaching.
"We should practise some restrain here, my Padawan."
"But look at her master, she needs our help." Anakin steps past his master and reaches up to you. His hand comes so close to you. You are sure you can smell the sweet air of the training room. Panic sets in and you turn on your heel running away. Surely the door was this way. Another screen appears and you see the two men once more, they are on a frozen planet. They see you again, and once more they call to you. You run.
It happened again screen, Jedi, panic running four more times it happens until you turn blindly, your heartbeat thumping in your throat and you trip. Falling forward into a body. The darkness is gone, replaced by a stark brightness. You feel a hard object below you and hear the 'oof' as hands take hold of your shoulders.
"You're here?" The voice says, pulling your attention back to what was happening. Looking up you see you had crashed directly into Anakin Skywalker.
"Master! She is here." He called out and Obi-Wan ran onto the balcony.
"It's been a year, and you're finally here. Actually here." The padawan continues.
"What? Where am I?" You ask pushing away from him and looking for a way out.
"Stop. Please stop."
You can't help but comply to the masters voice. You'd spent your whole life listening to it. You stand still, your back to them.
"I don't know what's happening." You say quietly.
"Shall we start with your name?" Obi-Wan asked.
"Y/n" you say, turning toward them. No, no, looking at them is worse somehow, but you don't turn away.
"I'm Obi-Wan-"
"Kenobi, I know and you're Anakin Skywalker." You interrupt him.
"Why can't I read you?" Anakin rushes the words out. You shake your head.
"You're right Anakin, you aren't giving off any signs of Force."
"This is a joke right? Are you being paid to do this? A TV show?" You ask, backing yourself against the wall.
"We're Jedi, we do not get paid to do anything." Anakin says.
"Perhaps we should take you to the council, they may understand what is happening better than us." Obi-Wan says.
"You're not on the council yet?" You ask, looking at the red haired man.
"You are a strange one. Will you come with us?" He points to the door and you nod. The master walks forward taking the lead and Anakin falls in behind you. To your surprise you emerge into a large hallway, the floor is silky smooth and the walls made of brown pillars. This was much more than a joke.
"Is this all real?" You ask, more to yourself than to the two men.
"Well we think so." Obi-Wan laughs.
You feel like a prisoner as they walk on either side of you. Wishing you could run and hide, though you knew they would know this building better than you and if they really are Jedi they'd catch you instantly.
The doors to the council room loomed over you as you waited, your heartbeat began to race again and your chest started to tighten. The palms of your hands felt clammy. You knew this feeling, you'd had it plenty of times before. This was the start of a panic attack.
"I don't, I don't want to go in there." You say, though your voice is hardly more than a whisper. Both men hear you and turn to you.
"Y/n, are you okay?" Obi-Wan asks, resting a hand on your shoulder. The touch shocks your body and you turn, running before your mind catches up with what you are doing. You run as fast as your legs can take you, turning a corner and flopping into a darkened corner. You faigley hear Obi-Wan tell Anakin to check a different way to him and pull your knees up closer to your body, trying to hide yourself.
You feel him in front of you first, his presence is heavy, but it lightens your chest.
"Hey, y/n. You're fast, faster than us." He laughs, crouching down to your height. You slowly look up to him.
"How, you have the force run?" You ask.
"Force run." He breaths out, through your panicked mind his voice is familiar and it soothes you.
"I know this place can be scary, I came here when I was nine. The council were pretty harsh but they mean well." He is trying to comfort you.
"I know, I know what they said to you, but I'm not you Anakin, I'm not the chosen one or even a Jedi I'm just me. I'm not even from this place." You ramble
"This place, you mean this planet? Where are you from, how do you know what they said to me?" Anakin asked.
"I, where I'm from you're…all of this is a story, just a story. It's not real." You speak through your panting breath.
"Not real? I'm as real as you can get." Anakin took your hand bringing it up to his chest.
"You see? That my heartbeat, I'm real, you can feel that."
God, why was he being so nice to you when he doesn't know you?
"This is a bit much." You say finally meeting his blue eyes.
"I have an idea, maybe they'll let you speak to just one of them, to start with. In light of…well. We can ask." You nod and allow Anakin to pull you up to your feet. You finally take the time to look at him, his hair is cut short with a braid hanging down behind his right ear. The hand that is holding yours is flesh. You check the other, both flesh. So this is before the fight with Dooku.
"That is a good idea, my Padawan. I shall speak to them, you stay with our new friend here." Obi-Wan spoke walking up behind Anakin. Once more you fall between the two men and your breathing slows to somewhat normal.
The doors to the council room are still intimidating but having Anakin standing beside you as Obi-Wan slips inside makes you feel less apprehensive.
A few moments pass before the older man peeks his head back through the doors.
"Master Yoda and Windu are waiting for you." He announces. Master Yoda would be easy to speak to but Windu. You had seen how he treated Anakin in the movies and it made you nervous.
"Come in." Anakin puts his hand on the small of your back guiding you into the room. The scene before looked exactly how it was in the movie, a circle of red chairs surrounded by windows. Obi-Wan stepped to the middle of the room, with you and Anakin following him.
"Begin, we shall, at the start Master Kenobi." Yoda said, part of you wanted to giggle hearing him actually speak and not be CGI or a puppet.
"Around a year ago, Anakin and I were training on the south Balcony, we saw y/n looking back at us, through a window of sorts. She was gone too quickly for us to get any information. We have seen her again several times and each time y/n appeared surrounded by darkness, as if she was somewhere between her world and ours. This morning y/n literally fell out of the sky and onto my Padawan." Obi explained, simply.
Yoda nodded along, but Mace narrowed his eyes on you.
"The world between worlds." Yoda spoke once more, turning to his companion.
"It has been centuries since anyone has crossed through it. Where are you from, y/n?" His dark eyes bore into you as you gulp.
"A planet called Earth, or um Terraferma." You recall the name from a science class. "It isn't in your galaxy." You say sheepishly. Mace smiles and laughs, a sound you have never heard in the movies.
"I have heard of it. In old stories the training droids tell. If you don't mind I'd like to take a blood sample, to determine if you are carrying any foreign -"
"Midichlorians right? You want to see if I have any?" You blurt out. The Jedi Master looks impressed and nods. He stands and takes your hand clipping your finger and drawing a drop of blood. You flinch, sucking on your finger as he sits back in his chair.
"Now, tell us what do you know about us?" That was the question you were dreading. Drawing in a long breath you begin.
"Well where I'm from, and to be honest I'm completely sure this isn't a very elaborate trick; this is all a story, well a movie, um I have seen what happens to you, to all of you for about sixty years. I don't want to tell you too much. I don't really know how time travel or inter galaxy travel works but I do know you don't tell people their futures." Both masters nod.
"Tell us, more past information, you must." Yoda asked.
"Yeah, umm, Mace, I mean Master Windu your lightsaber is purple, because you can draw from the darkside without succumbing to it. Errr, Anakin was found in Tatooine, as a slave l, Qui-gon wanted to train him, but he died at the hands of Darth Maul…" you could see the disbelief in their eyes, this wasn't enough…"this temple is built on a ancient Sith temple. To turn your sabre red you have to bleed the crystal. The first human Jedi temple is on Anch-To, the original books are there."
"Okay, I've heard enough for now. Master Kenobi, please take y/n to the dormitories. We shall confirm with the council." Mace announced turning away from you and you follow Anakin and Obi out.
"What else do you know?" Anakin asks, a hint of nerves in his voice.
"Oh um, only what's in the movies and TV shows." You reply. As the three of you walk you feel a dizziness wobbling in your stomach. "I don't know-" a flash of the dark room stopped you. "What?" The convention and people talking, so much talking."I need to-" the temple walls. You reach out and find a grasp on Anakin's arm. "Wait I " the convention hall again. You can see your friends. Your mind spins and you feel yourself falling backward. Anakin tries to catch you, your arm slipping through his fingers and your back hits something hard. Not the floor, a body, a chest and you're lifted up into a pair of arms. You open your eyes enough to see that Obi-Wan is carrying you. The dizziness is making you feel sick so you press eyes shut tight and lean into his hard chest. The simple scent of clean clothes and skin became your concentration.
"What is happening to her Master?" You hear Anakin ask from somewhere behind him. They rush you through the temple to the halls of healing. Where you were taken from Obi-Wan's arms and placed on a bed. As more scenes of your home flash in front of your eyes, mixed with parts of the Skywalker Saga. Nothing felt real until a hand slid into yours.
Snapping open your eyes, you turn your head and see Anakin sitting beside you. Unsure if it was the healers around you or his touch you began to calm and fall to sleep.
