Summary:

When Omega Jimin is in an emotional mess and needs support like never before, his best friend Omega Yoongi is always the first to be by his side.

Even if it was Yoongi himself who was, in a way, the creator of his emotional dilemmas.

"Can you please come and get me?"

That was the first thing Yoongi heard when he picked up the phone at three in the morning. The first time he saw the name of his best friend and childhood crush Jimin on the display, Yoongi felt his heart do a painful squeeze.

A phone call in the middle of the night rarely meant anything good, so the first gloomy thoughts began to haunt him before he had even had time to properly wake up from sleep.

However, Jimin's voice, quiet and gentle, effectively revived him and in half a second Yoongi was already on his feet, walking around the room and getting ready to leave as soon as possible.

"Where are you?" He said in a hurry, putting on his pants. "I'll come as soon as I can."

For a moment there was silence. The only thing he could hear on the other side was the sound of the storm that's raging outside.

"Are you there?"

The longer he remained without an answer, the more anxious he became.

“Y-yes. I just- I’m not sure where I am.” Jimin sniffed his nose and then took a low steadying breath.

A sign that Omega had cried or was still crying.

"It's okay, baby." Yoongi tried to calm him down somehow with his voice, "describe to me what you see."

"The tears are blocking my vision a bit." The tone of his voice sounded like he wanted to joke a little bit but it ultimately made him cry more.

“Jiminie…”

"Sorry, I don't want to bother you more than necessary. It was so stupid of me to call you at this hour."

"It wasn't stupid, it was very smart." Yoongi spoke clearly and matter-of-factly, still trying to influence the boy with his calmness. If they were next to each other now Yoongi would probably try to calm him down with his soothing scent. "You know you can call me anytime, anywhere, no matter what time it is. Your call will always be answered."

Yoongi was going downstairs at the same time, then sat down in the car. He put the phone on speakerphone and started the engine.

"Can you walk around where you are and give me some distinctive signs, buildings, maybe the name of some street? Anything will be fine."

"Okay hyungie." There was a buzz on Jimin's side again for a while.

Yoongi just hoped that Jimin wasn't standing anywhere without any kind of cover outside in this weather.

"I'm standing near the south entrance of the park. The one we always passed during our freshman year in university."

Okay, this was already some specific information with which Yoongi could somehow work. Wasting no time, he turned in the right direction, knowing that he should get there in no time.

"I'll be there in less than five minutes." He informed him.

"Okay."

Jimin's weepy voice really hurt him internally. He hated to hear him in such a state, and unfortunately, he increasingly felt that it was becoming a routine.

The rain was falling mercilessly. His rather old windshield wipers could barely manage to show him the road clearly.

Yoongi knew that he should definitely drive slower because of this, but the thought that Jimin needed him here and now was much more important. Every moment that Jimin was alone with his own distress only filled him with more worry.

When he finally arrived at the indicated spot, his heart shattered into pieces.

Jimin was standing exactly where he said. The entrance to the park was illuminated, which only further emphasized the picture of despair and misery Yoongi saw before him.

The smaller Omega was huddled inside himself, with his frail arms trying to wrap around himself to provide some warmth, but in the face of such weather this was nearly impossible.

Jimin was soaked to the skin. Water was pouring down the strands of his hair in downright streams, and his clothes clung to his body.

He looked like the picture of misery.

"Get in!" Yoongi shouted as he opened the car window.

At the sound of his voice, Jimin raised his head quickly and looked with his heartbroken eyes straight at him.

Whatever had happened, Yoongi knew it was not good.

With a rather slow step, Jimin approached the car. Just when the light from the streetlamp fell better on his face, Yoongi could see a red mark on his cheek.

"Who did this to you?" Yoongi didn't even wait for Jimin to put on his seatbelt, he leaned toward Omega and touched him gently with his hand, examining the injured cheek from all sides. In doing so, he was careful not to cause him any pain, so he was careful about the exact way he pressed his fingers against the boy's skin.

Yoongi watched him in silence, noticing many thoughts passing through Omega's mind - probably wondering whether to lie or tell the truth.

"It's a long story." That was the only thing he said, and although Yoongi wanted to continue the topic, he saw how tightly Jimin was clutching his shoulders and trying not to show how much he was shivering from the cold.

"Never mind, we'll talk about it later." Yoongi sighed, "I'll give you a ride home first."

Jimin quickly shaked his head.

“No. Not to my house... please." He looked at him pleadingly. "Can I spend the night at your place tonight?"

Jimin's reaction was disturbing, but Omega was the most important thing right now. Everything else could wait, but first Yoongi had to ensure that Jimin was in a safe and warm space. He was worried that he would get sick because of the rain.

"Sure." Yoongi nodded, "Let's go to my place."

The trip to Yoongi's house was already much calmer. They drove in silence, interrupted only by the sound of rain from outside, but even those sounds quickly blended into the background and were just a pleasant hum. The fact that Jimin was already at Yoongi's side made everything seem so much simpler already - even if it was only an illusory thought. Yoongi knew that there was still a lot to do. He has to take care of Jimin as best he can, but having Omega already within his sight and touch, and not alone in the middle of a dark street made a huge difference.

Now he could give him the comfort he deserved.

When they arrived and went inside, Yoongi immediately headed to the bathroom to prepare a bath for Jimin.

"You need to take off your wet clothes and get warm." Yoongi walked from one place to another. "I'll also prepare some warm tea for you. Is that okay with you?"

"More than okay." were the first words he had said since they arrived at the place. Although Jimin had been in Yoongi's room many times, now he seemed to be standing in the middle of the room as if he completely didn't fit in with all the surroundings.

He looked lost, but fortunately Yoongi had no intention of leaving him alone in all this. He would give him his hand and guide him to the right destination.

"Do you need a hug?" he approached him, but he wasn't going to touch him until Jimin agreed.

"Y-yes, please." he nodded, causing only more raindrops to fall to the floor.

With a tight hug, Yoongi tried to give him all the warmth and support he had inside himself, even as he felt his own T-shirt begin to soak through. Jimin's body still shuddered from time to time, but now at least Yoongi was able to take better care of him. They’re going to be alright.

"How about a cuddle session after the bath?" Yoongi stepped back gently and looked straight at Jimin.

"With you always, hyung." this was probably the first time that night when Jimin gently sent him a smile.

Jimin came out of the bathroom looking like a cute little duckie in oversized clothes that belong to Yoongi. They were a bit looser on him, but it didn't bother him at all.

Now at least the soft scent belonging to Yoongi that had settled on the clothes surrounded him from all sides and was able to calm Jimin's battered heart.

After drinking warm tea, the two Omegas made themselves comfortable on the bed. Yoongi never had a problem letting Jimin into his nest. They had known each other long enough that those boundaries had long since blurred.

They embraced each other. Jimin's head against Yoongi's chest, where meanwhile Yoongi from time to time stroked him gently on the back or put finger in his hair to adjust some messy strands delicately.

His soothing touch made the memories of the past few hours to completely disappear.

Jimin couldn't imagine a more secure place than Yoongi's arms.

"Are you ready to talk?"

Although the atmosphere between them was becoming more and more relaxed and Yoongi didn't want to shatter it, he knew there were still a few unresolved issues they needed to discuss.

Why was Jimin crying? Why was he standing in the rain in the middle of the night, and why didn't he want to go home?

Although Yoongi had some suspicions, he preferred not to assume the worst.

"I don't know if there's anything to talk about." Jimin whispered, "I'm a terrible boyfriend, a disaster of an Omega and an even worse son."

"Oh Minnie..."

"They hate me." He sniffed his nose while hugging Yoongi closer.

"Who hates you?"

"Everyone... my parents, my boyfriend- now ex boyfriend, society probably too."

"Wait- hold on." Yoongi seemed taken aback for a moment. "Did you break up with Sungmin?"

Although Yoongi was not convinced about the relationship, he always wished Jimin the best. He didn't want to tell his best friend how he should act or who to date. Even if he saw that Jimin was smiling a lot less since he entered the relationship - he tried not to comment on it, thinking that it was not his place, and that meddling in his private emotional affairs would be crossing a line.

Therefore, Yoongi decided to simply continue to be by his best friend's side.

Even if Jimin were to one day come to him drenched in tears because a relationship he thought was perfect wasn't so at all - Yoongi was ready to welcome Jimin with open arms.

These were not his decisions he should have made. It was Jimin who needed to be able to decide about himself and his life, especially his feelings.

Now that Jimin actually came to him with tears in his eyes, Yoongi felt a mild regret that he could not protect him from this in any way, but perhaps that was just the way things were. That was how life was.

“I did.”

“Why?”

Jimin was silent for a moment. He considered the answer in his head.

"I don't love him." He said quietly but calmly, as if he had been settling on this thought for some time, "All in all, I don't know if I ever loved. It was all illusion."

"Is he-" Yoongi swallowed his saliva, his hand that was stroking Jimin's back momentarily froze. Even from this position when Jimin snuggled into him he could see very clearly how an unpleasant mark was forming on the boy's cheek. There will definitely be an ugly bruise from this. "Did he hit you?"

"No." He denied, "My father did."

Yoongi didn't know what to answer. He could not imagine the situation for anything. Mr.Park never looked like he could-

Well... appearances are deceiving.

"Don't think too hard about it." Jimin spoke up seeing the expression on his face "This is the first time such a situation has happened."

"That doesn't make it look any better."

"I know. But I'm telling you to also have the right perspective on it and not to blame yourself that you could have done anything about it."

"But-"

Sometimes not knowing was better, much more freeing and lighter to carry. Being aware of certain things didn't always bring peace of mind. Yoongi wondered if he really wanted to know.

"Why did he hit you?"

"I guess I'm just stupid." Jimin wept again, but before his tears could run down his cheek Yoongi wiped them away with the top of his hand.

“Don’t say that. You know it’s not true.”

"Maybe yes, maybe no." He laughed but it didn't sound at all like the gentle laughter that Yoongi loved so much. This one was full of despair and pain. "My father was not happy that I broke up with Sungmin. You know he always liked him and thought he was the model of the perfect Alpha. Our breakup was not something he considered. He probably thought we would get married, mate, and have a bunch of cute kids in the future."

"But you?" Yoongi looked at him patiently and with concern, "what do you want?"

Jimin drew in a breath, then wandered his eyes everywhere so as not to look at Yoongi.

However, even wanting to avoid Omega's gaze, he was struggling. If he wanted to be sincere then he had to look him straight in the eye and convey to him with his entire gaze how true and honest was what he was saying - coming straight from his heart.

"You." Jimin felt his whole body heat up. He was stressed, even as he consciously made the decision to finally confess the truth to Yoongi. "Someone I cannot have, because no one will understand, someone my parents will simply not like because all they will see in this relationship is sin and wasting their lives on foolishness." Again, tears came to his eyes, "but also someone I can count on and love with all my heart wanting to spend the rest of my days in his embrace. But... I guess it's fine if I cannot have them, that's how it is."

Jimin's glossy eyes watched Yoongi intently, but when Omega began to move even closer to him, he felt like he was looking at a scene from a romantic movie he so enjoyed watching.

Yoongi grabbed his chin with his fingers and placed a light, barely perceptible kiss on his lips. Under the cover of darkness, when most of the world was asleep, Jimin had just experienced something he thought was completely beyond his reach.

Now he and Yoongi will share this little secret amidst the four walls they've locked themselves in.

"You don't even know how long I've waited to hear those words," Yoongi whispered. The atmosphere between them seemed much more intimate than before. That kiss, though gentle, imposed a new perspective on everything, because suddenly nothing seemed to have any meaning other than that they were in each other's embrace here and now - perhaps that was the impact of the late hours of the night, where everything seemed more unusual and mysterious at that hour.

Jimin laughed softly, Yoongi finally recognizing the sincerity of the sound.

"You don't even know how long I've wanted to confess that," Jimin replied, joy emitting from his voice. "But I wasn't sure, I had so many doubts. At one point I didn't even know what I was doing with my life. I love to feel and cherish but at the same time I absolutely hate it, it's so confusing. Do you know what I mean?"

Yoongi merely smiled wider.

"I know because- Because that's how I felt every time I saw you with Sungmin." He let out a deep breath. "I never wanted to stand in the way of your happiness so because of that sometimes I felt my heart squeezing. But I knew I needed to just accept your decisions and feelings, because even if you didn't choose me, what mattered most to me was your happiness - even if I wasn't going to be the person who gives it to you."

Jimin raised his hand and placed it on the boy's cheek. When he broke up with Sungmin and was practically yelled at at home, he completely didn't think this night could still bring him anything good. He was sad and bitter about how much his parents, especially his father, looked down on the mere thought of a relationship between two Omegas, but apparently, it was time for Jimin to rebel in this as well.

He was uncomfortable with himself in his relationship with Sungmin, constantly analyzing everything and wondering if what he felt was genuinely true.

However, all the answers became clear to him when he lay in Yoongi's embrace.

Here there was no question of doubt, because lying with his head pressed against Omega's heart and hearing its steady beat, Jimin just knew that he would do anything to be able to be happy with Yoongi and go to sleep and wake up in his embrace forever and more.

That's exactly what he wanted.

"I love you, Yoongi." He stroked his cheek with his thumb, feeling the soft skin under his fingertips. "I don't want to hide anymore with what I feel. Not from you, not from the world, and even less from myself."

This time it was Jimin who took the first step and leaned toward him. This kiss, though, was just as brief and soft as the previous one. Although Jimin was filled with love and could have kissed harder, he nevertheless wanted to maintain that special tenderness that suddenly prevailed between them. The atmosphere was simply perfect.

"Saying 'I love you' back would be too easy but also not true because I feel like my emotions reach further than that." Yoongi looked at him affectionately, "You also have no idea how proud I am of you. You are the strongest Omega I know."

Jimin smiled while feeling his cheeks blush more because of the compliment. He hid his head in the hollow of the boy's neck.

"Can we stay like this for tonight?" Jimin whispered, but the proximity they were at made Yoongi catch the words perfectly.

"We can even stay like this for longer than just this night. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else but by your side."

They hugged each other tighter, and the following kisses that were exchanged were still light and like a gust of wind.

They held each other in an embrace until morning, when the sun began to shyly peek through their windows, but Jimin and Yoongi were long since in their own world completely occupied with each other.

They were happy and in love.
