Katsuki jolted awake to his daughter's crying sounds coming from the baby monitor, he untangled himself carefully from Hitoshi's arms to get his daughter. He tried not to wake Hitoshi up but his mate's sleep was light. "Wha?" he asked, still half asleep. Katsuki was already on his feet "It's just Shizuki go back to sleep, I got it." he answered as he grabbed Hitoshi's zipped hoodie on the carpet.
"Bring her here." Hitoshi murmured, his eyes already closed again.
"Yeah yeah 'kay."
"Missed her." he heard Hitoshi mumbling as he rushed to the nursery as the crying increased. He saw the pup sitting in the middle of her crib, sobbing loudly. Her beautiful periwinkle hair with little blonde strands was all up in different directions. Her cheeks and button nose reddened from crying.
"Mama" Shizuki held her arms up, the pup made grabby hands as soon as she saw her mother and cried harder. Katsuki quickly lifted her.
"It's ok Shizu-chan. You're ok baby. Mama's here." the omega whispered sweet nothings as he rubbed his baby's back soothingly. Shizuki's normally sweet milky scent was sour from crying, she kept sobbing to his neck and Katsuki let out his calming scent to calm her down.
"Mama" she hiccuped again, her little chubby hands was fisted on Katsuki's hoodie. Katsuki kissed the top of her head, slowly wavering her little body up and down to calm her down.
"I'm here sunshine." he murmured. They stayed like that for a while, Katsuki talking and Shizuki calming slowly. The times his daughter didn't wake up crying her head off was so rare that Katsuki should have gotten used to it already but every time he couldn't help but panic. After a long ten minutes, when Shizuki's crying turned into quiet sniffings Katsuki held her a little higher to see her face, he noticed the baby's pudgy cheeks turned almost normal, her permanent heart meltingly charming pout was back to her face like always. “Feeling better?” Katsuki teased her. He tickled her tummy a little to get some giggles out of his baby. As always it worked, in just a moment Shizuki was a giggling mess, Katsuki chuckled with her.
After Katsuki decided she had enough, the omega put her on his hip one more time. He took a baby wipe from the nightstand to clean his daughter's tear stroked cheeks and running nose. Felling the fullness of it he changed her diaper too. "Mama, Dada?" she said expectationally after Katsuki was done. His baby looked so adorable while looking at Katsuki with her big lilac doe eyes, her tiny thumb in her mouth that Katsuki couldn't help but smile.
He took the yellow bee shaped pacifier, one of the many gifts from Izuku and Shizuki's favorite pacifier, from her little crib-nest where she dropped and replaced it with her thumb, he clicked the plastic chain to her brown onesie's collar. Brushing her unruly locks out of her forehead, he placed a loud kiss there. Shizuki giggled at that so Katsuki did again.
"You wanna see dad sunshine?" he asked between the kisses. Shizuki put her head to his shoulder with a last chuckle and nodded a little. "Dadadada" she babbled while she took her pacifier out and played with it.
Hitoshi left for a three day mission and came last night but it was pretty late so Shizuki couldn't see him. "Okay baby let's go see dad."
While they were on the way to the bedroom Katsuki saw Boba, they're Ragdoll, coming from downstairs towards them, she meowed and followed them.
"Boba Boba!" Shizuki shouted with joy as she pointed at the cat.
"Yes sunshine Boba's here, you wanna say hi to her?" Shizuki made an 'uh-huh' sound and called her name one more time. She tried to say 'pspsps' to the cat, like Hitoshi does every time he sees the furrball, but it came more like a snake's 'ssss', it was so damn sweet that Katsuki felt his heart stutter.
He scooped Boba in his arm as he walked towards the bedroom. The cat almost immediately started to purr. Shizuki waved at Boba and said "Hi Boba" petting her head happily.
When Katsuki opened the door Shizuki shouted for her dad immediately, stretching her chubby arms forward she tried to reach the alpha, babbling incoherent words.
"Dada! Dada! Dada!" Hitoshi sat up with light speed when he heard his daughter's voice and gasped as if he saw the pup for the first time. An ear to ear smile on his face. Just like his pup Hitoshi stretched out his arms forward too. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, his father always said, once again he was right.
"Where's my little honeybun?" he asked with the softest voice he had only used for his pup. Katsuki gave the over excited bundle of joy to his mate, murmuring a little 'drama queens, both of you'.
As soon as Shizuki was in his arms Hitoshi hugged her tightly, fell on his back dramatically with Shizuki on his chest. He scented and kissed her like there's no tomorrow. The younger omega wasn't so different, giggling as she wrapped her little arms around her dad, snuggling his neck.
Katsuki smiled at the display in front of him as he sat on the bed, put Boba on his lap and got his phone on the nightstand and opened the camera.
"Did you miss me jellybean? Oh I miss you so freaking much you have no idea." Hitoshi was telling how much he missed Shizuki as he placed kisses after kisses on his daughter's cheeks, forehead, nose and neck. Shizuki was giggling and babbling, clearly over the moon to see her dad again. Katsuki's cheeks hurt from how hard he smiled.
"I missed your giggles," a loud kiss on the cheek "I missed your silly chatters," a kiss on the forehead "Missed your adorable toddle," a kiss on the other cheek, "Missed your mini-Katsuki pout whenever you don't get what you want." a kiss on the nose. Katsuki laughed audibly at the last one. As much as Shizuki took after Hitoshi in her looks, she definitely got her manners from Katsuki. He ended the video after that.
"Why are you acting like you haven't seen her in years? It's just been three days."
"Katsuki" Hitoshi whined, lengthening the last syllable, "It's been three long, cold days without seeing my baby boo, it's the equivalent of like a decade." he said dramatically while rubbing his cheek to Shizuki's hair, they were lying on their sides now, facing Katsuki. "Also you can't judge me when you act like it's the end of the world whenever you don't see him even for an hour." he added matter of factly.
‘Fair enough.’ Katsuki thought. He loved his pup and missed her quickly, sue him. “No I don't.” He leaned and gave a kiss to both Shizuki and Hitoshi instead of admitting it. Shizuki giggled and returned the kiss to his cheek, even though it was more of a wet smack but it only made Katsuki kiss her one more.
"What time is it by the way?" Hitoshi asked, yawning. Shizuki was now sitting beside the alpha's head, trying to get off Hitoshi's hair tie. Hitoshi took it himself and Shizuki immediately dived both of her hands to her dad's hair, purring happily. The pup's love for her dad's hair was really impressive.
"It's 5.13." Katsuki answered. He watched them until Shizuki got bored playing with Hitoshi's hair. She crawled to him and patted his chest. Katsuki realized his chest was hurting a little, he hadn't fed Shizuki since last night before the little one went to sleep. Shizuki wasn't breastfeeding as much as she used to since she's 1,5 years old now and Katsuki got chest pains frequently because of that. "You hungry pookie?"
"Mama!" a sudden shout with an adorable frown, she tugged at his hoodie and tried to climb on him. Katsuki lifted her easily, kissed her forehead before opening his hoodie zip, and positioned Shizuki. She quickly latched on and started suckling. Greedy baby. When she started purring, Katsuki was once again impressed with how strong his daughter's purring was.
He brushed her hair back with his hand from her face, which usually helped her get sleepy. It was five in the morning and even though Shizuki was an early-riser it was early even for her. He smiled as Hitoshi squirmed closer and hugged his legs, eyes already closed. Katsuki caressed his mate's long hair after he did to his daughter's lighter toned one. The omega loved to play with Hitoshi's hair, it always made both of them relax. Huh, guess that's where Shizuki's interest comes from.
Half an hour later both Hitoshi and Shizuki were fast asleep. Katsuki thought about going back to sleep too but he wasn't sleepy anymore. So he carefully untangled himself, put Shizuki close to Hitoshi and set a couple of pillows on the edge of the nest so she won't fall. He quickly took a couple more pictures.
He sighed happily as he made his way to the kitchen to make a cup of tea.
