Chapter Text
"You did this. He got hurt because of you. It is all your fault." Marinette was sitting on the floor, her body curled up as tears streamed down her face. Adrien was tied to a chair, blood and brusies covering his body. No matter how much she screamed no one could hear her. No matter how much she cried no one would help. His sickening laugh echoed around the room as she curled up tighter. Suddenly she was yanked up by her hair and forced to look over at Adrien. He was nearly unrecognisable. His emerald green eyes had lost all colour and his face was as white as paper. The red blood was the only colour on him.
"He is gone because of you. You killed him. You let him die." Marinette screamed and tried to run but she was falling down and endless pit, everywhere she lolked the same image of Adrien flashed. Everywhere she looked there was Henri standing with a bloody knife and Adrien's lifeless body.
"You did this. You let me get to him and now your letting Volpina get to him. You haven't learned from your mistakes." Marinette went to run after Henri for answers.
"What do you mean Volpina? What is she going to do to him? Henri please."
"Volpina will get him. Watch out because she is coming." Marinette wanted to ask more but suddenly she was stab in the side, pain causing her to collapse. She looked down at the knife and see blood covering her hands. She saw a black figure standing over her with a knife and went to scream but she couldn't. The knife came down towards her and suddenly it was all gone.
Marinette sat up with a shock, panting as she tried to catch her breath. The room was dark apart from the small lamp on the desk. The lamp was left on every night for the nights that she would wake up in a panic from another nightmare. Most were the same but this one had been different. It was as if she was really there, everything she touched felt real. The blood on her hands felt warm and real but it wasn't.
Marinette was still shaking as she laid back down. She looked over to see Adrien was still asleep but his chest was still rising and falling, showing he was still breathing. Marinette chewed her lip before deciding to curl up against him, putting her head on his chest so she could hear his heart beat and feel him breathing underneath her. She heard him mumble and felt him shift slightly before a sleepy voice spoke.
"Another nightmare princess?" He pulled her closer and kissed her head before laying back down. Marinette just nodded, not trusting her voice not to crack. He just stroked her hair and sang softly until her breathing returned to normal and she had calmed down. She still clung to his top after every nightmare just so she knew that he was still there and wasn't leaving. She knew he was still awake and really wanted to talk to him. She needed to speak to him and knew was as good time as any.
"I want to go back to work... As a detective." Adrien didn't say anything and Marinette began to panic, worrying that he wouldn't agree. She heard him sigh before his arm wrapped around her and pulled her closer.
"If you think your ready then I support you. Lets talk about it more in the morning when we can have some other opinions." She agreed and the couple curled up together and Adrien went back to sleep. Marinette couldn't sleep and the words Henri had said in her dream were replaying in her mind. Voplina was the mysterious thief who had been voted as a member of the council. Marinette didn't know why but she got an uneasy feeling whenever she was around her. Something was different about her and not in a good way.
♣️♣️♣️
It was six oclock when Marinette and Adrien woke up. The pair went down stairs to grab some food before Adrien had to head off to work. When Felix walked into the kitchen Marinette scowled and ignored him. Since he questioned her about her nighmares and suggested she had PTSD Marinette refused to speak to him. Adrien knew she was good at holding a grudge and that they would have to sort it all out soon.
"Do you want to come in to work with me today? I'm sure Nino wouldn't mind you hanging around." Marinette just nodded before leaving the kitchen to go and get changed. Once she left Adrien looked over to where Felix was frowning at his toast.
"Felix if you just apologised then it would all be sorted. She is a stubborn bitch when she wants to be so this could drag on forever." Felix just hummed as Adrien finished washing the dishes. He sighed and walked upstairs to his bedroom. He was about to walk in when he heard footsteps pacing the room and Marinette's quite voice. He could tell that she was on the phone to someone but he couldn't work out what she was saying. He waited for a few seconds before slowly opening the door and clearing his throat, letting Marinette know that he was there. He hadn't expected her to quickly hang up and suddenly hide her phone behind her back, a fake smile on her face.
"Is everything ok? Why are you hiding your phone from me?" She just chewed her lip and walked over to the wardrobe, taking out some clothes and walking over to the bathroom. He went and stood between her and the door, gently holding her shoulder to stop her from running. But she didn't move, only the slight shaking of her body as she looked down at the floor.
"Please talk to me Princess. I love you Marinette and I want you to know you can trust me." Marinette just stared at the floor. She couldn't tell Adrien what was going on because she didn't know what was happening. She didn't remember anything after leaving the kitchen, as if she went onto autopilot. It was hard for her to look him in the eye and tell him how she felt when she was unsure herself.
"I.. I need to get dressed... I trust you. I promise." She barely whispered as she just stood there, her feet glued to the floor. Adrien just sighed before taking a step to the side and watching Marinette just stay in her place. After a few seconds she slowly walked into the bathroom and closed the door. He heard as she let out a quiet choked sob behind the door. He wanted to hold her and comfort her until she was ready to trust him enough to talk.
Adrien sat on the bed and waited for Marinette. When she finally came out he could see she had been crying but had tried to hide it. She smiled and put her hands in her pockets before slowly walking towards the door. Adrien followed and the pair walked to the front door. Felix was standing by the front door with his keys, checking his watch for the time and rubbing his wrist. When he saw the couple coming he quickly straightened up and looked over to Marinette. She didn't seem interested in what he had to say but Adrien knew Felix would try anyways.
"Marinette I'm sorry for saying you have PTSD. I was an idiot and my doctor brain immediately spoke up. Please just talk to me so we can sort this out." Felix went to touch her shoulder when she jumped away, panic and fear in her eyes. When she realised it was Felix she relaxed, looking up and replacing the fear with a fake smile. The boys exchanged a glance before Marinette walked towards the door, quickly leaving. Adrien followed to see she waiting by his car door, nervously chewing her lip as she stood there. He wanted to hug her and make sure she was ok but he could tell it wouldn't help.
The pair got in the car and Adrien started to drive. Every so often he would look over to see Marinette looking out the window, her eyes full of worry and guilt. It hurt him to know she was fighting a battle that he couldn't help with. She was his best friend, his partner, his world, and he could only watch as she suffered. He reached for her hand but she jumped, quickly turning her head to look at him. She muttered an apology before returning to look out the window, sighing as they stopped at the traffic lights.
Adrien had learned that when Marinette spaced out it was rarely good. She would cry without knowing it or she would jump at any touch. He knew that Felix was right about the therapy but he couldn't force her to go. Her trauma wasn't just from Henri but also from the stuff she had been put through as an assassin. There would always be a part of her that no one would know about.
"What do you think of Volpina?" Marinette turned to face him, no emtion on her face. Adrien quickly glanced over at her before looking back at the road.
"I guess she is ok but I haven't really spoken to her. Is there a reason your asking? Did she do something to you?" Marinette shook her head and carried on looking out the window. Adrien just sighed and carried on driving to the precinct. The carpark was quite full and Adrien suddenly got curious. It was normally full but there was a lot of patrol cars still there. Adrien pulled up and the couple walked into the precinct. Marinette walked off to his office while Adrien went off to find out what was happening. He walked inot the break room to see everyone talking. Adrien walked over to Nino and Kim, quickly greeting them before starting to make two coffees.
"Has it really been that tough of a morning dude?" Nino laughed and Adrien just smirked. Kim grabbed himself a cup and moved to stand beside Adrien.
"No but Marinette is waiting in my office because I can't leave her and Felix alone for two seconds without her thinking about or actually trying to kill him. So what is all this about?" Kim just shrugged and the three of them began looking around. It could have been a meeting with the chief but no one could be sure. Adrien just sighed and left, taking the coffee to Marinette. He had got to his office door when he heard the chief clear his throat behind him. Adrien turned and looked to see the chief standing there with anyoung women.
"Detective Agreste this is Detective Rossi. She is a transfer from Italy and I would like you to show her around... Agreste why do you have two mugs of coffee?" Adrien just stood there and smiled. The chief frowned and Adrien just turned around, opening his office door and walking in. Marinette was laying upsidedown on the sofa in the corner on her phone. Her head snapped up and she waved before returning to her phone. The chief walked in after and Marinette didn't even move. After putting both mugs down on his desk Adrien turned back to the chief who didn't look surprised to see Marinette. Adrien went to speak when Marinette spoke up behind him.
"Can I come back to work? It's really boring just staying at home all day and I really miss my job. As much as I love having free time this is really taking the piss." Adrien and the chief both looked over to where Marinette was sitting crossed leg on the sofa, her eyes glued to the chief. Both of them looked at eachother before the chief sighed and looked at Marinette.
"Come to my office and we can talk." Marinette jumped out her seat and followed, a smile on her face. Adrien just watched them both leave before someone clearing their throat brought him to look over at the new detective. He rubbed the back of his neck and quickly started work.
Marinette however was waiting in the chiefs office for him to speak. Her leg was shaking, something that happened since she had been rescued from Henri, as she waited for something to happen. After a few seconds the chief got up from his seat and walked around to sit in the chair beside Marinette.
"I know you want to work again and I would love to have you back but I can't at the moment. Marinette from what I have seen today you may be experiencing anxiety which could be linked to PTSD. I know you haven't been to therapy about anything that Henri did to you and that ultimately is preventing you from working as a detective again." Marinette stood up and turned to face the chief before pacing the room. She wanted .him to just say yes but he couldn't because Henri fucked her head up. He was behind bars and he could still screw her life up. He still had all the power and she had nothing. He was still in control even from behind metal bars.
"But Chief Pierre I need my job back. I am fine and everything is ok. I don't have anxiety or PTSD so I can work again. I don't need therapy because there is nothing wrong with me. I don't know what you think you've seen that make you think any different." She could see as the chief just sighed and walked back to his own seat. She was still pacing the room, her hands clenching and relaxing by her sides.
"Marinette you can't sit still. You have either been pacing or your leg has been bouncing and you are unfocused and shaking quite often. The only way you would be able to join the force again would be to go into therapy so you can prove that you are trying to get better. I understand that you might not want to relive what Henri did to you but maybe sharing it could help you deal with it." Marinette was shaking her head as she took the seat in front of his desk. When she sat down she forced her leg to be still and kept her gaze on the chief, her mind focusing on trying to find a way to answer him. She wanted to scream and beg for her job but she couldn't.
"Théo, please. I need my job back, doing my job will help me. We both know that I am the best detective this city has ever seen and you need me back out there... Is it because of the new detective? Has she taken my job?" Marinette watched as Théo sighed and leaned back in his chair. He went to speak when Adrien knocked on the door, the other detective trailing behind him. The chief waved them in and Adrien came in, leaving the other detective to sit outside. When he came in he looked over at the chief and then to Marinette. The chief just smiled and leaned forwards onto his desk, looking straightat Adrien.
"Agreste, do you think Marinette might suffer from anxiety or PTSD due to the trauma she might have suffered with Henri? And know my answer to your question will depend on how truthful you are." Adrien just looked to where Marinette was sitting, her leg bouncing and hands fidgeting in her lap. She was chewing her lip as she looked down at the floor and waiting for his answer. Whatever way he would suffer because of his answer.
"I guess she has been a bit more jumpy and restless since it all happened. And my cousin who is a doctor did make a similar suggestion about it. He suggested therapy but Marinette was against the idea and shut it down straight away. And as for my question, can you please assign someone else as detective Rossi's tour guide?" Adrien was standing straight with his hands behind his back. He avoided eye contact with Marinette as the chief just looked at the girl outside. When he did take a glance at Marinette he could see the hurt in her face.
"Of course. Now Marinette do you understand that it is not just me who can see a reason for you not to join the force again. Lets put it this way, what happens if you get called out to deal with an abuse case? If you suddenly freeze up or have a panic attack then it will affect everyone not just you. Or if you get called out to a case where someone was not as fortunate as yourself and you catch the criminal, what are you going to do? We can't have you beating up someone because you anger got the better of you. Marinette what if you freeze up when you see a knife in someones hand because it brings back memories of being lock away? I will not risk the lives of my officers." Marinette was sitting in the chair and looking down at the floor. She didn't say anything as she stood up and walked towards the door. Adrien and the chief both watched as she sighed and left the room.
Marinette walked out the office and left the precinct. She didn't know where she was going but she needed to leave and clear her head. She had nearly left when someone grabbed her shoulder. Marinette jumped away and quickly spun around to see the new detective standing behind her. She was smiling at Marinette but she didn't have the energy to smile back.
"I didn't get to introduce myself, I'm Lila Rossi and I've just transferred here from Italy. I've heard you used to work with detecitve Agreste and wondered if there was anything I should know." Marinette just stared at the women before shaking her head and pushing down her anger.
"Um... I don't think so. I didn't get to introduce myself either, I was kind of in a hurry..."
"Oh I know who you are. You're Marinette Dupain, the girl who was saved after a year of being help captive by her ex foster carers. You jumped in front of a blade to save a girl you didn't even know, risking your life like anyone on the force should. You basically nearly died but still you faced your kidnapper in court and got him a life sentence. You also fell in love with Detective Agreste and caused everyone to doubt the Paris Police." Marinette fought back her panic as she was forced to revisit each moment that she was tortured. Before the girl could say anymore Marinette just made an excuse and quickly left. As she walked away her hands were shaking but she just fought it back. She couldn't break down in front of the precinct and prove them right.
After a quick text to Adrien, Marinette walked back to their house. It was a quite walk but she needed the peace and time to think. When she did finally get back she could see Felix was home. She groaned before taking a deep breath and walking in. She put her keys on the side and took her shoes off before walking into the kitchen. She grabbed a glass of water before going into the living room.
Felix was sitting on the sofa and turned his head when she walked in. He smiled at her and she gave a slight smile before taking a seat by the coffee table. When she couldn't think she preferred to sit on a solid floor. She brought her knees to her chest and rested her chin on her knees.
"Are you ok? I thought you were spending the day at work with Adrien." Marinette sighed and took a sip of her drink before looking over to Felix. She chewed her lip before deciding to speak to him.
"Do you really think there is something wrong with me? Do you really think that I have PTSD?" Felix seemed shocked by the question and he just stared at her before sighing. He stood up and left the room, Marinette quickly following. She could see that he was hesitant but she wasn't going to stop until she got an answer.
"Ok fine, yes I do think you have PTSD. Marinette since you came back everyone has mentioned how jumpy and restless you are. You seemed to always have a fight or flight instinct on and you shouldn't. I know you don't want to accept that you aren't in control still but it's facts. With a therapist you could work through all your problems and find ways to cope with it all." Felix felt a pang of guilt as a tear ran down Marinette's face. She just looked at him with empty and emotionless eyes. Watching this indestructible women crumble in front of him was painful.
"So I'm going to be broken forever, no matter what I do. There is no cure, I'm broken. Henri is still screwing up my life, even from a jail cell." Felix reached a comforting hand out but she stepped back, pain and fear flashing in her eyes. Marinette lost everything in that second, she lost control, she lost happiness but worse she lost herself. She wasn't ok as Marinette and as Ladybug she was just as bad.
She walked out the room and went straight to the bedroom. She locked the door behind her and moved to sit on the floor, curling her knees up to her chest. She wanted to scream but she had no voice, she wanted to cry but she had no tears. Marinette should have never ran away from Henri. She wouldn't be there, sitting on the floor and clinging to any sense of normal.
Felix was knocking on the door and trying to coaxs her out but she kept the door locked and ignored everything he was saying. Once she calmed slightly she stood up and walked over to Adrien's wardrobe, taking her suit out and holding it in her hands. It had been a few weeks since the meeting that lead to the unity of all criminals and Marinette hadn't put her costume back on. She had been spending every spare second with Adrien and would find other ways to distract herself while he was at work. But nothing could bring her control like being Ladybug could.
"Marinette just take a few deep breaths and we can talk about it. I only wanted to be honest... Marinette? Are you in there?... If you don't answer me then I'm calling Adrien... Fine have it your way." She could hear as Felix walked away to get his phone and her fight or flight immediately kicked in. After making sure her mask was secure and she had everything she needed, Ladybug walked out onto the balcony and ran off.
Feeling the cold air against her face and being able to run forever made her smile. After finding out she would always be broken she didn't want to stay. She needed to escape and find some way to fix herself, to stop Henri from controling her.
♣️♣️♣️
Adrien was sitting at his desk when Nino walked in and threw himself down on the sofa, screaming into the cushion and sighing. He turned around and looked over at Nino, frowning when he saw something was wrong. After the morning with Marinette he really didn't need anything else to go wrong. Nino rolled over and looked at Adrien, desperation across his face.
"Adrien, dude, that new detective is really weird." Adrien just rolled his eyes and chuckled, turning back to his computer. Nino walked over and leaned on the back of Adrien's chair, reading over the different case files that were on the screen.
"The last new detective we had invited me for drinks on the first night and had some fuck up past. She has a secret double life, went undercover, became a bounty hunter and was kidnapped. She now shares a bed with me and is my girlfriend. So how weird is this new detective really?" Nino just rolled his eyes and went to his own desk, typing up new information from the most recent cases. The boys had settled into a quite silence, occasionally talking about the cases they worked together on. Adrien had began to think that Marinette would be ok when he got a phone call from Felix.
"Hey Felix what's..."
"Marinette's ran off. She wouldn't asking if I thought she had PTSD and I snapped. She locked herself in your bedroom and then Ladybug was running away from the building. She also left her phone on the bed so you can't call her." Adrien groaned and hit his head on the desk before sighing and answering Felix.
"I'll sort it. If she comes back let me know." Adrien hung up and put his phone in his desk draw. Nino was looking over and waiting to know what was going on.
"Marinette is pissed off and has ran away. She ran off as Ladybug and is really annoyed so who knows what she is going to do." Nino just nodded before returning to his work. Adrien knew that going after Marinette now would be pointless because he wouldn't find her. Marinette would hide until she wanted to be found. He would just wait for a message from someone to say she was with them before suiting up and going to talk to her.
The boys carried on working until the chief walked in with a new case. There had been a robbery at the new jewellery store and a card with a fox tail had been left in its place. Some people had thought it was Rena Rouge but Nino and Adrien both knew it wasn't. It was Volpina introducing herself to Paris. She was making herself known.
Adrien and Nino got in the car and made their way to the store. Nino was in the passenger seat on his laptop, gathering as much information as he could on Volpina. Lucky for them she wasn't as secretive as the criminals from Paris and there was quite a lot of information about her.
Volipna appeared in Italy nine years ago and began stealing everything she could get her hands on. At first she would only go for museums or jewelry shops but soon she turned to robbing people in their homes. Italian police worked for years trying to track her down but she disappeared about five years ago. Everyone believed she had got pregnant or met her dream man but in reality she was trying to find the perfect place to resurface. She had stolen over €70,000 worth of jewelry and seemed to have left only a card in its place.
"Dude, this girl seems strange. Why disappear and then suddenly reappear in Paris of all places? Everyone knows this place already has its leaders so why try to squirm your way in?" Nino was frowning as he looked between his computer and Adrien. Out of everywhere she could appear she chose Paris. Something seemed weird but none of them could figure it out. Volpina seemed to be dangerous but there was something else that Adrien could quite place.

It was dark when Ladybug decided what she was going to do. She needed to clear her head and deal with her anger so she went to the person who could help her.
Ladybug checked her surrondings before dropping down onto boat house. She slowly walked to the door before knocking on the door and waiting. She started pacing as she waited for someone to open the door. It seemed like forever before Luka appeared, hair all scruffy and in his pyjamas. He yawned and smiled at her before inviting her in. Ladybug stood at the door and chewed her lip before shaking her head.
"What's up spots? Are you ok?" Luka came out and closed the door, taking her to sit on the deck chairs for a second. She was fidgeting in her seat and looking down at the floor while Luka wrapped his arm around her shoulders.
"Can we go out and do something? I don't want to go home and I can't sleep." Luka agreed and went downstairs to get changed. Ladybug was pacing on the deck, her eyes constantly flicking around her surrondings. She walked over and picked up a magazine, flicking through as she waited for Luka to come back.
Luka had left Marinette and gone downstairs to change into his Viperion costume. Zoé was sitting up in bed and looking behind him for whoever had been at the door. When she didn't see anyone she looked back at Luka and asked what was going on.
"I think Marinette has run away again. She is upstairs and seems really stressed about something so I just want to make sure she is ok. Can you just let Adrien know she is with me so he doesn't worry. I'm going to try and get her to talk but we both know that is near impossible so just going to have to hope for the best." Zoé smiled and grabbed her phone from the nightstand, sending a quick message to Adrien. When she finished Luka was walking out of the bathroom with his mask on and a tired look across his face. He quickly straightened up and gave Zoé a kiss before leaving.
When Viperion got outside Ladybug was sitting on the floor with a newspaper in her hand, staring down at something with a look of concentration. He slowly made his way over and looked over her shoulder to see what she was reading. He quickly snatched it off her when he realised it was the article on Henri's trial. Him and Zoé had been reading over it and had forgotten to put it away after. Everyone had been trying to shield her from it as it contained information that she did not know about the other victims.
The article went over some of the worst victims and what happened to them. Marinette's case had been listed as one of the worst victims but she had not been named in the article. It went over the trial and what had been said, along with photos of the abandoned building they were kept in. There had been one photo that was not allowed to be published but Luka still had a copy of it. It was of Marinette's room in the building, the drawing of her family and friends on the walls. Luka had tried to kill Henri as Viperion but he was always to heavily guarded for anyone to even get close.
"Are you ok spots? What did you want to do?" Viperion moved to stand beside Ladybug and he could hear as she fought to steady her breathing after he made her jump. She covered it with a smile before getting up and waiting for Viperion to move. After a few seconds Viperion began running and Ladybug followed, staying a few feet behind him most of the time. He kept stealing glances but each time her face was emotionless.
They ran until Viperion stopped and climbed down into a park. Ladybug followed him with a confused look on her face. He just smiled as he walked over to a bench and sat down, tapping the seat next to him. She stood for a second before looking around the park and sitting down. She leaned against his shoulder and sighed. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and look over the park. They stayed like this until there was a slight noise behind them and Ladybug jumped up, spinning around and reaching for her knife. Luckily it was only a bird gathering food.
"You need to calm down. How about we do some sparing? That normally helps." Ladybug nodded and the pair got to their feet, standing a few metres away from eachother. She got ready and looked to see Viperion smirking at her.
"Rules are simple, no weapons and the winner is first to draw blood or the last one to tap out. And spots, remember I'm thirty-one now so I'm getting old." Ladybug rolled her eyes but nodded, standing ready to fight. Viperion just chuckled before getting ready. Ladybug was first to move, swinging a punch at Viperions face, but he blocked her attack and hooked his foot around her ankle. She tumbled backwards and Viperion was on top of her, trying to land a punch. She dodged each punch and kicked him off. Soon they were both throwing punches and only a few landed. Ladybug was watching Viperions every move until she just smirked. The smirk caught him off guard and she was able to tackle him to the floor, pinning his arms to his side and trapping him underneath her. He sighed and tapped her foot, signaling her as the winner. She smiled and went to stand up when Viperion flipped her onto her back and pinned her beneath him.
"Why did you come to me tonight spots? The last time you visited like this was just before you started at the precinct nearly four years ago. So what happened to make you come back?" Ladybug just looked up at Viperion and shrugged, looking away from him. He sighed and stood up, turning his back to her. She moved to sit up, looking over at him and chewing her lip. Viperion went to leave when Ladybug Spoke.
"They said I have PTSD. Everyone thinks I have PTSD but I don't want to have it. Vi, I'm broken and I don't know what to do. Henri is still in control even from behind bars, he is still screwing with my life. I don't know what to do anymore. I just want it all to stop, I want it to go back to normal. I can't be a detective, I can't be an assassin, I can't even be a proper girlfriend because Henri fucked up my head... Make it all go away... Please stop it... Please make it all stop." She was sobbing into her hands as Viperion held her. Her whole body was shaking as she leaned inot his chest, clinging for any thing to stop her from completely crumbling.
"Spots calm down. It's all going to be ok. I'm here... Marinette I promise it does get better, you just have to wait for the storm to pass." She clung to Viperion and slowly calmed herself down.
"I really screwed up. I pushed Adrien away again and I think I went to far. I didn't even look back at him, I just walked away. I should have just gone home but I didn't. I change into this stupid suit and ran off. God, I am so fucking stupid. What if he doesn't want back? What if this is it?" Ladybug was sitting in front of Viperion, her eyes filled with fresh tears. Viperion just smiled and wiped her face before pulling her into a hug.
"Every assassin develops PTSD at some point in their career and you have finally realised that being an assassin doesn't give you freedom from you life but your life gives you freedom from it. Talk to any assassin and they will tell you the same thing... And I'm sure Adrien will forgive you. He thinks the sun shines out of your ass." Ladybug giggled and leaned against his chest, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath.
"For the record, I do not think the sun shines out your ass, but Viperion's right, I do forgive you." Ladybug turned around to see Chat Noir with his usual cocky grin. She immediately jumped to her feet and ran over to him, throwing her arms around his neck and crying into his shoulder. He wrapped her in a hug and gently rubbed her back, leaning his head against hers. She clung to him until Viperion cleared his throat and the pair of them both looked up.
"Well as nice as this is I have a beautiful girl waiting in my bed at home. So, Chat look after my girl and Spots, maybe speak to someone." Viperion smiled at the pair before running off. Ladybug turned back to Chat and kissed him, clinging tk him like life support. When he pulled away she buried her face in his chest and sighed.
"I love you. I'm sorry, you and chief were right... Can we not go home yet? I want to go someone else." Chat Noir frowned but Ladybug just smiled, batting her eyeashes at him. He looked away but finally agreed and followed her. She began running and Chat chased after her, laughing as she looked back at him. She stopped on a roof and dropped down onto a balcony. Chat recognised the balcony and followed her down, glancing over at her while she searched around the balcony. She pulled out a key from under a small plant pot and unlocked the door, slipping inside and pulling Chat with her.
"Why are we back at your old apartment? Is everything ok?" Ladybug just nodded before walking over to turn on the lamp. She closed the balcony door and locked it before walking over to her wardrobe. He walked over to her and wraped his arms around her waist, gently purring into her ear. She leaned against him before standing up straight and grabbing some clothes. She turned to face him and handed him a set of clothes before taking some for herself.
"Marinette, Is there a reason you don't want to go back or is this just a way to try get back your life before all of this?" Marinette chewed her lip and turned around, looking at the wall in front of her.
"I just wanted to go back to where it started. I miss how simple it was and how much fun I had trying to deny I liked you. You don't have to stay but I want to and I want you with me. Everything's ok when you're with me." Adrien smiled and walked over to her, leaning his head on her shoulder and gently kissing her neck. She moaned quietly and leaned her head away, exposing more of her neck. Adrien smiled as he found his way to her zip at the front and slowly undone it. She turned to face him and leaned up to kiss him. He pulled away and Marinette pouted, tilting her head to the side and blinking.
"Don't give me that look. As much as I love looking at Ladybug, I would prefer to see my girlfriend who haven't seen since this morning. So before anything happens, can we take these masks and suits off." Marinette smiled and walked to the bathroom, digging through the cupboards before she found face wash and mask glue remover. She put it on the side and slipped her suit off. Adrien came to stand beside her, taking off his own mask and helping Marinette with hers.
Adrien frowned as be watched her yawn and sway on her feet. He could see as she struggled to keep her eyes open. The couple walked back to the bed and Marinette sat down, crossing her legs and facing Adrien. He laid back on the bed and looked over at her, smirking when he saw the frown on her face. She seemed to be fixated on his face and was slowly leaning forwards. He watched as she reached her hand out and traced her finger along his hair line. She sat back and looked at him.
"Did you get that at work? What happened?" Marinette's voice had turned into a whisper and Adrien felt a pang of guilt.
"I got in a bit of a fight with someone. They were resisting arrest and hit me but I'm fine. Can we just forget about it?" Marinette just nodded and laid down next to him, staring up at the ceiling and sighing. Adrien reached out for her hand but she pulled away, rolling onto her side and putting her back to him. He sighed and used his elbow to prop himself up.
"Princess you said you trust me. So trust me when I say I'm ok... I love you." Marinette hummed and Adrien moved closer, leaning over to see her pouting and avoiding looking at him. He kissed her temple and pulled her closer, tiggling her hip until she cracked a smile. She swatted his hand away and try to pout but he kept tiggling her until she was nearly crying. She finally rolled over to face him and she rolled her eyes, smiling and leaning up for a kiss.
"Marinette I hate when you sulk. I've said I'm good and you trust me to tell you if something was wrong, right?" Marinette chewed her lip and nodded, making Adrien smile. He sat up and leaned over her, putting a hand either side of her and kissing her. She leaned up and Adrien pulled away, resting his head in the crook of her neck.
"I have work in the morning and I really don't n everyone asking why I am tired." Adrien rolled onto his back and closed his eyes. He just sighed when he felt the bed shift beside him and opned one eye. He saw Marinette sitting up and went to question when she smirked and climbed out of bed. He watched her walk over to the desk and pull somethong out of the draw before walking back. He went to ask when he heard a click around his wrist. He looked down to see Marinette smiling and pulling his arm to her headboard. She cliped the handcuffs and sat back to admire her work. Adrien pulled slightly but he knew it was no use.
"Mr Dupain you always find yourself in these situations. Even as your alter ego you always seem to be handcuffed." He was stumped for an answer which only made her smirk bigger.
"Why won't you be Mrs Agreste?" Marinette just smiled before climbing to sit on his legs. He just sighed and looked at her, smiling .
"Princess, was that a marriage proposal? Because you need to get that head of your sorted first before any weddings." Marinette just looked at Adrien and giggled. She moved up his body and leaned down to kiss him, her hands firmly on his chest.
"Nope, no marriage proposal but my head could be swayed if you can prove that it should've been. So detective, are you going to show me what you've got or are you going to be a pussy cat?" She leaned up and removed the cuffs before sliding off him. He smirked before sitting up and taking his top off. He leaned closer, taking off her shirt and leaving kisses along her collarbone. She smiled as Adrien moved further down.
