Being a god isn't easy.

Summary:

Percy became a god, and solves everyone's problems (demigods' problem)

Notes:

Once again, what ifs fic. So, can you imagine what Percy would have done if he accepted immortality on his sixteen birthday? Okay, so he became a god. And then Zeus deeply regretted it.

Work Text:

"You can't ignore your children like that!"

Percy was chasing Zeus through the halls of Olympus.

"They fought and suffered for you! We have lost many friends! The least we can do is give them the honors they deserve !"

"We will not interfere in every ridiculous mission . End of the question." Zeus spoke, his voice deadly serious.

The same voice made even Hera stop when she crossed the line.

But that didn't stop Percy.

“I'm not saying we have to interfere every time! I'm saying they shouldn't all sleep crammed into a cabin because their parents don't recognize them! If they can waste their time having sex with mortals, the least they can do is recognize their children! "

“It's going on forever.” Ares murmured and Percy looked at him. "I'm really sorry Aphrodite if you think ten minutes is forever ."

Apollo, Hermes, and Dionysus burst out laughing and Percy turned back to Zeus.

"All they want is to know that they are important enough to their parents to be recognized ! They want no interference in missions, just a moment of your infinite time ! Thalia deserved better and if she does, why all the others don’t? "

Zeus hissed, looking at Poseidon. "This is your fault."

"But you know he is right, brother."

Zeus nodded. "Very good. Everyone will have to recognize their children."

"By the age of thirteen." Percy specified and Zeus pursed his lips.

"It would become too dangerous for them to live outside the Camp if they are too powerful. The unrecognized tend to avoid the Camp after the age of fourteen." Percy pushed.

" Very well ! By the age of thirteen . This is an order that must absolutely not be ignored." Zeus granted.

The gods nodded.

Zeus looked at the assembled gods. “Any other matters to discuss?”

Percy smiled. "Yes!"

" Oh, gods ." Athena whispered.

Poseidon smiled at his son, who said. "How can the minor gods recognize their children if they don't have a cabin at Camp? They can't."

"No campers without a cabin were recognized."

"What about Nico? Hades doesn't have a cabin at the Camp and yet he is one of the most important gods."

Zeus sighed. "Cabins will be made for all the Greek gods, minor or major."

Chiron smiled at Percy.

Rachel approached him and said, as Zeus declared the council closed. "Thank you. I think this will be important for me."

Percy smiled, his prophecy-bound dominance warming in the girl's presence. "I really hope so."

“What do you mean, close Olympus ?”

Percy's voice had rang out in the silence of the throne room, while Zeus, Hades and Poseidon were arguing.

"Don't even talk about it!" Percy shook his head. " You already did ! You stuck your head in the sand hoping Kronos would throw himself back into Tartarus and it took Artemis' kidnapping to make you act! So, no, you won't cut ties with demigods just because you're paranoid ."

“They have to prove their worth to fight on our side.” Zeus replied.

"They've already done it ! When the Greeks fought against Kronos here and the Romans against Krios at Mount Othry! That's all they have to prove!"

Zeus hissed. "And what do you plan to do?"

"I've already confronted Hera about how she hoped to make her plan work. And I've cursed Octavian to be ignored by the entire legion. I've blessed some other oracle with the gift of prophecy. What we'll do instead is intervene when demigods fight giants."
Percy pointed to Zeus. “They won't have to prove themselves.”
He pointed to Apollo. “They won't have to fix your messes.”
He pointed to Dionysus. “They won't have to pay a huge tribute.”

Apollo and Dionysus looked offended, but Percy pointed to Athena. "And you ! What does that scene with Annabeth mean? Do you send her on an impossible task and deprive her of her only magical object?"

“What happens between me and my daughter is none of your business.” Athena hissed.

"It is if you risk my domains !" Percy replied. "As the god of demigods I charge you to stay out of demigod affairs! And I have given Annabeth more magical items with a full explanation of her mission ahead."

Percy stared at the gods. "I've been clear?"

Poseidon smiled slightly at the shocked expressions of the other gods.

It was Artemis who broke the uncomfortable silence that had fallen.

"Does this mean I can go to my Hunters now?"

Zeus murmured, before saying. "You may all return to your usual domains and duties."

Percy was the first to turn and head towards the large golden doors.

"Where are you going?" Hermes asked him and Percy answered. "I'm going to warn the Romans about the two giants and offer my help to fighting Polybotes, of course."

" PERSEUS !"
